Their food is yumm and very good they serve the best dosa I have ever had .
very much satisfied with the delivery... on time and delicious food
Have been visiting this place since childhood.. they serve awesome south Indian food and the service is also good.
Outdoor seating is the best part of this eatery.
Special mention of the plain paper cheese dosa.. it's my favourite!
HANDS DOWN THE BEST SOUTH INDIAN FOOD PLACE IN KOLKATA. Something other than south indian that you must try is their fried rice. Their coffee is also really nice.
Delicious delivery from them.. We have ordered pav bhaji and it was too lip-smaking and impressive.. Surely we would like to taste their another items in future..
I'm quiet attached to this place, as this place has a special corner in my heart
Been visiting this little eatery since childhood, they still have the same staff, same Ambience and same quality food
They serve pizzas, sandwiches, south Indian, and north indian
Their pizzas give a feeling of homemade pizzas with just the right amount of vegetables and cheese
The north indian thali is pure love
Served with variety of vegetables dal and raita
This is my all time favourite place.
The quality and quantity is perfect
The staff is polite
They have outdoor seating and is best to have dinner in a nice weather
the food was delayed at the restaurant
Good pizza for 1 person ...
Located very near to house..this is one of the places I’ve been visiting since I started gobbling food I guess!! Nostalgic place..of course I love the food and everything out here
A small joint with limited seats which get full very fast on weekends and holidays due to the quality and atmosphere they serve at this restaurant. The food here is very much like what we cook at our home not to spicy not to sweet just cooked perfectly. I would specially appreciate their paneer tikka, chole bhatore and paneer butter masala they r just lip smacking delicacies and one my personal favourites of this place.
One of the best pocket friendly places in Alipore. The place isn't very attractive but it's all about the food anyway.
Must try :
Paneer Butter Masala
Chile Bhature
Gave this place a try when my cousins wanted to taste some good south indian food. We had 4-5 different varieties of dosas and they were just average. Service is slow. Not so satisfying experience.
The food here is tasty with south indian and north indian cuisines to choose from. A nice place to eat especially when you are en route to home from work and suddenly feel hungry. They also deliver if you are nearby. The quality of food is good though some items are oily and spicy.
I was very hungry when I happened to just see this place and their open sitting by the roadside, with already two three people enjoying their evening sip of Coffee in the winters evening.
The service is good.
The Pav Bhaji gave me a home feeling.
The Chutney dosa was a lil spicy but that can be because of the Masala.
I liked the place because of its service and food.
That's mostly what we want from a place. Isn't it?
First time visited with bhaiya and Bhabhi on Christmas Day
Wow awesome food and the more awesome thing went with bike while returning hmmm
Slow service
Decent veggie joint for casual meetings....decent crowd, strategic location... The pizza tastes moderately delicious...Pricing is well within a moderate budget....
Drive In Snack Bar located diagonally opposite the Command hospital attached to the petrol pump, is a good road side eatery serving tasty vegetarian snacks. Easy on the pocket, the food is of good quality and has been consistent since 2000 when i had first visited the place. The joint looks quite unassuming with a very basic set up with just a few chairs and some high tables where you can stand and eat. On a nice winter afternoon, one could also sit on the benches outside to soak in the flavours and the sun.
If you could go past the looks, this place serves amazing dosas(dhania), soft fluffy bhaturas with mildly spicy choley, pav bhaji and masala kulcha . A special mention for their lassi served chilled which is a great way to end your meal.

I got a takeaway done from here last week.
The food was good and packing time was quick. The prices are also reasonable.
The order consisted
Paneer do pyaza ( There was ample paneer with a melange of onion, capsicum and green chilli)
Aloo jeera ( this was different from the usual aloo jeera. Small aloo halves were fried and dry tossed with a lot of jeera.)
Veg Jhal farezie ( vegetables were thinly sliced with added paneer cubes tossed in a slight tangy gravy. This one was really tasty.)
Masala Kulcha
Onion kulcha
Naan
Tandoori Roti
Raita
The person who came with the bill came with the after food mouth freshener even though we dint eat there.
The food was well packed and each box was labelled with a marker.
We had the food after two and a half hours almost. The food was still warm, fresh and the rotis and kulchas still soft. So that was a pleasant meal.
The vegetable curries are well made with a predominant use of green chilli pieces. So if anyone is anti so much chilli its better to specify it to them.
The vegetables were crunchy and fresh and the gravies were light and each was unique in terms of taste.
I have tasted South Indian from here on a previous occasion. That was quite nice too.
The food is ok at dis place.if u r not looking for anything dats not fancy dis is d place 4 u.south indian food is ok and all the other stuff are also good.
Very tasty food, especially soft naan n tandoori roti, have ordered home delivery many times and have always been satisfied... Rates are also pretty good
A direct competitor to their next door neighbor, Garden Cafe. Their menu, restuarent get up and even their staff uniforms, one tune was same.
But I had a very bad experience when visiting this place as I had heard a lot of complaints too......
I won't dangle to that point for my entire review for this joint. I would mention their idli s are a tr8 to have. And I would personally vouch for their quality of foods.
Located about 200 mtrs from where I live, we gave this place a try after being suggested by a neighbor who order home delivery from here on their lazy days. I had tried their idlis decades ago and had hated it and therefore didn't return to this place until Aunty told my Mum about it. Mum is a finicky eater and I have kinda inherited that in my genes.
We hate their idli dosa. We haven't quite tried their sandwiches and pizzas yet. But we are now a regular customer for their sabjis and rotis. The malai kofta and aloo do piyaza are really good. It's a cozy little place with tables and chairs places outdoors for seating by the sidewalk, kinda like alfresco/highway dhaba. You have to stand and eat at the tables on the inside. They also serve in your car (hence "Drive In"), if you're a fan of that. Nice place to hangout with friends or a casual dinner out with family. You should definitely try if you're in the area looking for a good bite.
Being really conveniently located and serving pretty decent North Indian food, they are our Plan B on our lazy days now...I'll be trying their pizzas and sandwiches soon enough...
A cozy lil cafe located in Alipore close to Command Hospital, it is a cool and convenient place to chill if you are cruising in your car or want to take advantage of their outdoor seating if you are without a car. It is a veg cafe with an emphasis on South Indian food. Everytime that I have visited this place, their food and service have been consistently good. My last visit was last evening where we ordered Masala dosa, sambar vada, coffee and hot chocolate. The service was good and the food was tasty and hot. Just a word of caution for the coffee lovers, if you cant stomach the machine coffee, then avoid the hot coffee as it is an expresso coffee

A cool joint near Command hospital..with nice seating arrangement..visited this particular outlet for the first time today. Didnt have much time to sit and eat as my friend and I were in a hurry and wanted to have something cold to quench our thirst. So just ordered their Cold Coffee.. it was extremely refreshing, though the sugar level was a little on the higher side. Service was fast. Will be back soon to try out their dosas n idlis.
Had dinner with my colleague.....as he is veggie he took me there....their seating arrangement impressed me a lot....a typical place to hang out.....we ordered special veg thali.....they took almost 45 minutes to serve....as we were getting late that irritated me....but then the food came & it was quite awesome....three side dishes were there (aloo, paneer & dal) with good quantity & quality which is rare in such restos......so a "can stop by" place while driving in...
Standing from decades in front of Command Hospital is this great eatery where you can rejuvenate your taste buds. The food here is good and a great spot for vegetarians who want to try various cuisines.
A place where you can dine in with families or enjoy food with your friends outside. They home deliver their piping hot food to your doorstep too.
Good location or to day it properly, it has the advantage of the location. They have some of the awesome dosa's in the area... But the biggest drawback of this restaurant is that it had no chairs to sit on.... If we get this kind of facility I think it'll be one of the best destinations to pass some time
This snack bar is located in Alipore, nearby the "Commando hospital" and adjacent to a gas station. "Drive Inn Snack Bar" is one of the most sought after and favorite destination for various types of snacks, veg main course delicacies in town. They have been serving for more than a decade now and have never failed to satisfy anyone's taste buds. Its has both indoor and outdoor sitting arrangements, the complete outlet is squeaky clean and has a simple yet impressive decors and interiors. The staffs are very friendly and courteous and the service is lightening fast. Their offering ranges from various mouth watering fast foods and snacks like- pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, spring rolls etc; to south Indian savories like- dosas, idlis, utthapam, vada( various flavor) as well as succumbing north Indian main courses- including(naan, parathas, Roti's, kulchas, pulao, curries, daals, malai kofta, jhal frezi, veg biriyani etc;) thenChinese cuisines like(fried rice, chow mein, Manchurians, chilli paneer, baby corns etc;). Each and every offering in this joint are stuffed with unaltered quality and unbeatable culinary expertise.
"Drive Inn Snack Bar" is a paradise for vegetarian foodies and the killer combination of the outdoor view and luscious delicacies is just heavenly.
Have been visiting this place since I started driving I.e. 4 years back but have never been disappointed even once. The place is a perfect food joint which has a huge variety of food and it actaully pertains to its name with limited seating capacity with quick service. To begin with, the south indian delicacies are getting better day by day and are almost like proper south indian restaurants. Pizzas are like home made type which I personally love it and so is the burger. I am yet to try the heavy indian food as I never dig into to place at lunch or dinner but for snacks. People driving from or to alipore, its a must stop for muching or filling ur stomach.
If you want some amazing and reasonable south indian and fast food this is the place to be at the heart of alipore. This pure veg eatery has been running for years and the home made pizza is a speciality and a must try if you want some change from the pizza huts and the dominoz.
I love this place for its south indian food but my favorites here are their double cheese pizza and pav bhaji :) The cold coffee with ice cream is amazing too- My Mom says its the best cold coffee she has ever tasted!
To start with u must try the pizzas out here. It serves very good South Indian & u can easily bet on its North Indian food also. Moreover, it does not bore holes in ur pocket. I will give 5 stars to food quality. A must try place
one of the most visited food joint for yeras..in the alipur attached to the petrol pump. the south indian is amazing....so is the chiili paneer.and other stuffs....pure veg food...good in terms of cleanliness n quality...very reasonably priced.

A small joint off alipore, this places serves good south indian and very average anything else :p We would order in a lot of south indian from this place during our lunch breaks at work. The south indian has always been good(but garden cafe still is better). The idlis here are particularly soft which i like and the sambhar tastes wonderful. Never order a sandwich from here, for you ll be disappointed.
They take more than an hour to deliver even to the nearest location which is a 7mins walk! -_- so order your food well in advance. And if you are willing to go eat there the service is quick but there is no ac (open air seating )
The indian is priced like jai hind dhaba, sadly it dosent taste anything like jai hinds.I usually avoid ordering indian here and stick to my order from the south indian list .
Excellent taste and consistent food quality and reasonably priced.

good clean food.i have been going there since i was a kid.south and north indian dishes are quite goodbut pizzas didn't t find that good.its gets congested only in festive season.stays open lite quite late.and i manage to sneak through crowd everytime since i know everyone there..:p.try the chole batore and paneer kofta there...:)
Serves quality food. Quite clean! Service is fast.
The thing which they need to do is make their seating arrangement better. I"ve been to this place quite a num of times and had to ask them to parcel my order as I couldn't find a place to sit and have my food comfortably.. maybe a few more tables and chairs will do it.
love their ice creams! :)
As the name suggests this is a Drive-In Eatery. Its better to order your food, take it and eat it in the comfort of your car. Its a vegetarian place, but their Veg pizzas are great and the Cheese Burgers are a mouthful. Service is a bit slow and the places remains crowded most of the times.
Drive inn snack bar- Located in Alipore and is Attached to petrol pump. Serves good Indian meal and dosas. Pizzas usually tastes like home made pizza. I love the cheese burger too.

2) small but works pretty well
3) have Inner and outdoor area as per where customer wants to sit comfortably
