বাইরে বেরোনোর যতটা নিষেধাজ্ঞা, ততটাই মন আনচান করে বাইরে বেরোতে। একটু লং ড্রাইভ বা সপরিবারে বেরোনোর খুব ইচ্ছে তবু মনের ভয়ে হয়নি। এখন আর সেই ইচ্ছে চেপে রেখে লাভ নেই। আমি ও আমার সাথে পাঁচফোড়নের বন্ধুরা মিলে ঘুরে এলাম রুবির কাছেই ইএম বাইপাসের Rang De Basanti Dhaba থেকে, আর দেখেও এলাম ওনাদের সুব্যবস্থা।
তাপমাত্রা মেপে, হাত স্যানিটাইস করে ঢুকে, একজনের থেকে নিরাপদ দূরত্বে বসলাম। ভিতরে ঢুকেই সব স্টাফের তাপমাত্রার একটা লিস্ট দেখতে পেলাম। এছাড়াও মেনুকার্ডটি একবার ব্যবহার করেই ফেলে দেবেন। তারপরে ওনাদের সেই মেনু কার্ড থেকে কিছু বিশেষ বিশেষ খাবারের সম্ভার নিয়ে হাজির হলেন।
প্রথমেই কমপ্লিমেন্টারি কাঁরা, তুলসী ও হলুদ দিয়ে বা দারুচিনি ও গোলমরিচের গরম গরম রোগ প্রতিরোধ ক্ষমতাবর্ধক পানীয়। এছাড়াও এখানে নানা স্বাদের দিল্লীর স্পেশাল গোলা পাওয়া যায় গলা ভেজানোর জন্য।
একটু অপেক্ষার পরেই একে একে এসে গেল সব খাবার।
●Starter:
◆ Kurmure Vindi
ঢেঁড়স দিয়ে এত সুন্দর কিছু বানানো যায় সেটা আমার ভাবনার ও অতীত। কুরমুড়ে বেসনের প্রলেপ ওপরে চাট মশলা দিয়ে অতীব সুন্দর।
◆ Paneer Tikka
পনির নিয়ে অনেকেই একটু নাক উঁচু করেন, কিন্তু এখানে পনির টিক্কা চেটে পুটে শেষ করে দেবেন। সুস্বাদু মশলা মাখানোয় পনিরটা ব্যাপক খেতে হয়েছিল।
◆ Fish n Chips
ফিশ ন চিপস, চিরাচরিত পাতলা বিস্কুটের গুঁড়ো দিয়ে নয়, ফিশ অমৃত্সারীর সাথে ফ্রেঞ্চ ফ্রাই দিয়ে। সত্যি খুবই ভালো, মাছের স্বাদ আলাদা করে পাওয়া যায়, কোনো গন্ধও নেই।
●Mains:
◆ Chicken Biriyani with Raita
হালকা মশলার বিরিয়ানি, একেবারেই কোলকাতার নয় পাঞ্জাবী ধরনের, খেতে ভালো। চিকেন বা মাটনের সাথে খুব সুন্দর লাগবে।
◆ Chicken Palantodh
চিকেনের রান্নাটাও বেশি অন্য রকম। মাখো মাখো ঝোলের সাথে রুটি দিয়ে অদ্ভুত সুন্দর মিশে যাবে।
◆ Dhaba Style Mutton
ধাবা স্টাইল মাটনের ওপরের মশলার ফোরণটাই খুব মজাদার। এক পলকে ক্ষিদে বাড়িয়ে দেবে। টুকরো গুলো প্রমাণ আকারের ও খুব নরম। রুটি বা এখানে বিরিয়ানির সাথে দারুন মানাবে।
◆ Panner Masala:
লাল, হলুদ ক্যাপসিকাম দিয়ে সুন্দর করে বানানো, মাখো মাখো মশলায় জিভে জল আনা খাবার।
◆ Aloo Zeera
আলু জিরা, এখানে অন্যতম বহুল প্রচলিত খাবার, নিরামিষভোজীদের খুবই প্রিয়। জিরা, চাট মশলা, ধনে গুঁড়োর মশলায় খুবই দারুন। রুটি দিয়ে এক নিমিষেই শেষ হয়ে যায়।

কুলচা, লাচ্ছা পরোটা, নান দিয়ে সাজানো রুটির সমাহার

সব শেষে এর থেকে ভালো সমাপ্তি আর কিছুই হতে পারেনা

Ordered mainly those items marked by a traktor, ie their house specialities.
🔸fried chicken which was accompanied by onion and lime.. It had a distinct ajwain flavour and was decent tasting..

If you are looking for best punjabi foods in Kolkata, so there is the place based totally on a Desi Punjabi dhaba called Rang de Basanti Dhaba.
You directly feel that you into the 90’s the moment you enter there. Its a very good place to have your lunch or dinner. Even you can be there for evening snacks. Rates are a bit high. 30-40 rs more than its competitors. Ambience will be the best and the topmost thing to rate for Rang de Basanti.
Really good food, very courteous staff, even chef is very willing to customise the food as per the preference of the customer, just that the portion size could be increased

Overall i had a great experience.
At first they served complimentary "Tulsi & Haldi kadha", they've another variety of it , that is black pepper & cinnamon kadha. We started our lunch with chicken cheese kebab which was very soft and creamy on the inside and the outside is flavourful with spices & topped with huge amount of cheese. Then kurkuri bhindi was there, which is basically a crispy and spicy starter. Another starter was Chicken Tikka Kebab, tender cooked chunks of chicken marinated in yogurt and spices that is cooked with too perfection. Then we opted for chicken tawa biryani and chicken palangtod. From the name of Tawa biryani we can guess the basic difference of it from regular biryani; yes, this biryani is cooked in a tawa and it is more spicy than the regular one. On the other hand Chicken palangtod was the showstopper of the lunch, the soft leg pieces cooked in a spicy chicken keema gravy. Obviously don't miss their Goli Soda.
It’s a proper dining restaurant which has 2-3 outlets of it in Kolkata,West Bengal.
The ambience is quite smoothing and impressive too. The interior is bright and eye catching as well. The food was tasty and delicious. The staff are courteous and friendly too.

This place will give you the dhaba feel but in a decent way ofcourse. The food here is good, i specially liked the chicken malai kebab and the chicken bharta. Its not so expensive also the quantity is pretty decent.

When I heard about this special evening menu couldn't resist myself to give it a try. I visited the Bypass outlet which located just opposite Fortis Hospital. This outlet is huge with great ambience. Evening Adda is totally incomplete without a glass of Garam Chai, keeping that in mind they are offering 4 types of Chais in this menu which are Lal Chai,

We munched on a couple of Bun Omlettes, which had decent fried omlettes sandwiched between two paos, Bun Maska which had a generous topping of cheese again sandwiched between two paos, Anda Bhurji Bun and a Desi Piyazi Bun which had Anda Bhurjis and the quintessential Piyaji's to go along with.
Classic Maggi Masala, Vegetable Maggi Masala and Egg Maggi followed next, comprising of a lovely semi-gravy Maggi preparation in a quantity which should be easily enough for two hungry heads. Aloo Paratha, Onion Paratha, Mix Paratha and Paneer Paratha were all a sheer delight to our tastebuds. Those hearty parathas, with generous amount of filling in them, and served with the delectable white butter, pickle and raita.
It would be unfair not to highlight the other two dishes we tried, Chole Bhature and Pav Bhaji. Both of these were one of the best I have had. The Bhature and the Bhaji literally stole the show. The exoticness of the masalas, all cooked down to a fine yum mixture, once the Bhatures got over, we even paired some of the Parathas with the Chole.
The Pav Bhaji was a winner too, the creaminess of the Bhaji simple turned out to be a well mashed potato semi-stew. The chai's or teas proved to be a perfect companion for the evening and helped balance out the food. Speak of the Lal Chai, Cutting Chai, Black Pepper Chai and the Cardamom Cinnamon Chai; it was simply reliving a cozy evening out in one of those roadside Dhabas.

We have ordered Tandoori chicken for starters and it was ok for me.
One of my colleagues suggested trying some mutton dish. I am glad that he suggested that, because the mutton was very very tasty. Hands down the best mutton I have eaten.

I visted this for the first time. The ambiance of the place was super cool. Very big place,the truck in the center was giving a real dhaba types feel. The crockery they used was dhaba style. The food i ordered their - RDBD Fried chicken.. Four pieces if deeply fried chicken served with salad and chatney...Tastes moderate..could be better.. Then in main course i tried their Raara Mutton...4 piece,spicy,well cooked mutton...tastes soo good...along with their mirchi roti...full of mirchi,butter..yet not too spicy..perfectly complimenting the side dish. Also ordered butter tandoori roti which was butter brushed from the top,had perfect crunch..!
Overall experience was good...! Good place to enjoy dhaba style food along with cool ambiance..!!

Served with greatness, the food was top notch tasty as they make with the name... The decor is good with the Punjabi dhaba vibe.. Staff was very helpful and treated us with goodness... A good place to be in and have great Noth Indian food.
The interior is very interesting it's gives you a total dhabawala vibe. The crowd was good and the restaurant is actually very family friendly. I saw kids were playing in the restaurant without any problems. And last but not the least food which is awesome and delicious.

This outlet is situated at the bypass road.The ambiance is very interesting with a Desi dhaba touch,they have placed a jeep model at the middle of their dinning section, which makes it look attracting.
Few day ago I ordered the methi matar mushroom which is recommend at the must try option from the restaurant.
The taste was awesome, it had a creamy sweet flavor along with lots of peas and mushroom🍄🍄🍄 on it. A perfect one to try with a roti or naan.

We went there on our anniversery, from the security personnel to the staff everyone was very welcoming, we ordered butter nun, tikka malai kebab and chicken tikka butter masala the kebabs were very tender and delicious. The tikka masala was properly cooked and the nun was soft to its core which i liked it very much..♥️
Visited this place as it is located very close from my work place. Must say that the pace of food delivery was commendable inspite of the fact that the restaurant was full to its capacity. Server was polite. Food was delicious. Chicken chawaal was the one which stood out from the rest of the delicacies. Will surely visit again.

Rang De Bashanti Dhaba has total 9 outlets in kolkata. I visited the one located at Byass. They are having a special winter menu festival with some amazing dishes.
The seating area is comfortable and this dine-in Dhaba has a very homely environment. The dishes they are serving during the winter menu festival is close to our heart and the portion is good and taste is amazing.
The winter sepcial Menu consists of the following:
•Sarson Da Saag Makki Ki Roti
•Tawa mutton mirch meat
•Rotis (Hari Mirch, Laal mirch, assorted rumali)
•RDBD Dum Biryani x 1
•Gatta Kadhi Chawal (Handi special)
•Gajar ka halwa
Each dish was well presented and the portion was good for two adults to share. The dishes I would highly recommend is the Gatta Kadhi Chawal, Sarson Da Saag Makki Ki Roti, Tawa mutton mirch meat & Laal Mirch Roti. The food tasted amazing. Overall I had a lovely experience and would love to visit again.

I visited this place today and I am really pleased with the restaurant. I will going to share good and bad parts of the place.
At first i would like to mention the ambiance is not so but well furnished u will feel the rawness like a Panjabi dhaba. Behaviour of employees were very impressive, also there food items were great in term of taste.
We ordered one kabab item, butter naan, kadai chicken, dam biryani, and tawa biryani.
Kabad were nice I will give 8 out of 10
Butter nun were quite soft ,in term of taste it was same like other, but
kadai chicken were not that much great i didn't like so much. They told us the dish is spicy but i didn't get it spicy.
Dam biryani was as same as others but the dish was tasty.
And taw biryani was quite good to me, it was spicy and different in term of taste.
Overall experience was good, I would definitely recommend this place.
Food was good, we tried vegetarian here and it was up to the mark. But would request of they can make onion complimentary alone with sides 🫢

fine place to chill and have dinner. Can celebrate birthday parties. There is a Tractor - you can hop on and click fun pics. Also ambience is cool, all of the walls are yellow, you'll get a vibe of Punjab in there. Many funny sarcastic photo frames are there.

The biriyani was spicy like really spicy.
Overall must must must visit this place. Quantity is great and the taste is overwhelming. Worth every penny you spend. Definitely must try.

Rang De Basanti Dhaba is popularly known for it's delectable North Indian cuisine and desi dhaba vibes with a modern touch. Recently they have introduced the 'Kuch Naya' menu which has items like Khasta Roll Paratha, Paneer Pasanda, Chicken Chaap & Mango Lassi. We sampled all the delicacies and absolutely fell in love with the food.

The Khasta Roll Paratha was flaky yet soft to bite.

Paneer Pasanda was another flavourful dish which is a rich and delicious recipe of shallow fried stuffed paneer sandwiches in a smooth, creamy onion-tomato based gravy, with a hint of sweetness.

Chicken Chaap was spicy and flavourful, which consisted of slow cooked marinated chicken legs with bone, loaded with desi ghee and dipped in a pool of spices. Absolutely lip-smacking!

We finished off the meal with Mango Lassi, which was thick and creamy. It had the perfect balance of the sweetness of mangoes with the tanginess of yogurt. Must try!
