Nothing is better in Kolkata than their popular garlic chili sauce and Thai Chili sauce. I recommend their Oyster sauce, I call it the magic sauce because it makes everything taste better. For sure, my suitcase to Toronto will be packed with some pou chong spicy babies

I run a small food counter in sector V. It's believed that it's the only counter which serves Pou Chong sauce to the customer. The customer are very much satisfied with the quality of the sauce. Although it matters a lot to me as most of the unbranded/local sauces comes in between RS. 20 to RS. 30 but I am absorbing the cost in order to create my goodwill.

I was introduced to Pou Chong store by Nepali and Chinese classmates from my school, just across the road at BB Ganguly street, St. Joseph's College. For the last 35 years, every sauce in my home, and those of my relatives and friends, are brought by me from Pou Chong. We also buy noodles and chinese pork sausages here. I needn't give them a certificate of excellence. Anybody who ever tasted their produce will not source their sauces from anywhere else. They are SERIOUSLY head and shoulders above the branded and non branded competition: be it Kissan, Maggi, Druk, or the local cheap sauces.

I like to cook Chinese food at home. I enjoy cooking it because of its technique, it;s fast, tasty and the yin yang balance of the food. Without the original spices it is not possible, so Pou Chong is my favourite. Their spices and sauces can be stored very long. Regards Francis.

Ordered Fish Sui Mai, Chicken Sui Mai and Chicken Momo (8piece) via Zomato which costed me ₹431. Every dish was authentic in it's own way and they are worth having a try. You people won't regret a bit after having the above mentioned dishes. The packaging was neat. The food was served quite hot. Every item was super tasty and delicious. The price is very much reasonable and quality and the quantity is more than good. Highly Highly recommended.

One of the few places in Kolkata where steamed buns (Baos) are served up like they do at Tiretti Bazaar! Had ordered Chicken Bao and Deep fried fish balls both of which were great on taste. Also looked hygenically prepared to me. Just one issue - the portion size is small for the kind of price tag charged. But overall 👍

I guess I had great momos after a long long time. The filling had 90% meat & 10% veggie-spice-condiments. Ordered the pork & chicken steamed momos. I guess they will have to work on the momo sauce (not so good) since it tastes like it has been served directly from a bottle from the grocery store instead of a freshly prepared sauce at a restaurant. As for the Bao, I loved it because it was filled with diced pork belly & fat. But the sauce has to
be restaurant made. Overall great tasting food 😊

Hear the lot about this place... Especially about their food... So so I ordered for there Fish Pork Mushroom Balls in Schezwan Sauce... It was heavily in taste... Got the delivery in time... But two things I think they can improve is their packaging and the portion size little bit... Pocket pinch is quite reasonable...

I suddenly decided this evening and went to their outlet to buy some frozen meat and fish balls which I tasted a few days back and found them to be superb tho small in size at least it was not covered in cornflower but had only meat and fish in them....looking at the menu I found it a little confusing tho I decided to try their pork and fish suimai and the barbecued pork bao....
I was absolutely delighted and found both these dishes so so tasty and with the purest of fillings as per their names that I’m going to stop going to Tiretti Bazar for the breakfast as I think they sell rubbish now...I do not live here and always carry back these and when I go back I’m going to carry all of these in plenty...Absolutely amazing for which I’ve given them a rating of 5...please folks continue serving these and please please do maintain the quality..,you are the Best

An absolute pocket friendly eatery near triborno bus stand, kasba. They has an accommodation with two plastic tables along with some chairs on the footpath. We all know pouchong brother pvt. Ltd. as a Chinese sauce manufacturing company,in this shop they sell those tasty sauce, noodles and many more items.

We ordered:

🥢 Pork Bar-B-Que Bao (₹53) : A white fluffy steamed bun loaded with generous amount of pork chunks which tossed in sweet and tangy sauce.

Service was a bit slow. Staffs are very polite.
Will definitely come back here to try other dishes.

Tiretti comes to Salt Lake, with Pou Chong Ming Dimsum

When we think of Kolkata, the common things that come to our mind is Roshogolla, Mishti Doi, Durga Pujo, Howrah Bridge, Chinese food. Not many of us know about a small China town that breathes in the womb of this massive Kolkata. The history of this unique cuisine goes back to the late 18th century when people came from China and settled in parts of Kolkata. Eventually, they started making Chinese food with whatever was available in the local markets of Calcutta.

Tangra- the China Town of Kolkata has long been significant in the Bengali palates. However, what people are unaware of is yet the best place to witness the pure Chinese flavors you have to come down to Senyet Sen street commonly known as Territy Bazar near the Poddar Court, Central Metro station. The area is filled mostly with local Chinese households selling authentic breakfast dishes in small makeshift shops on the road early for breakfast.

One of the significant leading brand which serves this arena is Kolkata’s legendary Chinese food products brand Pou Chong. But woah, not just Chinese products, they are recreating the magic of Tiretti yet again. With the success of their first store at Kaaba, they have launched their second store under the brand of Ming Dimsum by Pou Chong.

Where? The new store is at BA-38(next to PNB bank more) Sector 1, Salt Lake. The shop is open from 11:00 AM - 10:00 PM.

What's available?
The new outlet offers authentic Chinese grub such as dim sums, bao, sui mai, soups and more. They have more than a dozen kinds of bao — not just the regular chicken and pork but also chicken honey sesame bao, barbecue bao and hot garlic bao. Name any pork part, they have it ready for you, especially pork lard. The new kiosk sells their signature sauces, condiments and some readymade Chinese snacks like momos, baos, dim sums and sui mais. The new outlet sells all their bottled products so you don’t have to make your way all the way to Territi Bazaar to get your hands on them.

Wallet factor? The menu is priced from just INR 40 so two can feed here for under INR 300!

What did we try?
Fish ball soup - This aromatic soup with fish balls and pan sheared bokchoy with a hearty broth is enough to satisfy as a main meal.

Pork bao - Cha siu bao is a Cantonese barbecue-pork-filled bun. The buns are filled with barbecue-flavored cha siu pork and it's outstanding.

Sweet and sour Pork open bao (Gua bao) - These fluffy Bao buns stuffed with tender sticky pork belly is outstanding!

Steamed wonton with garlic - The Chinese version of Ravioli, these steamed dumplings perfectly made in a bamboo steamer in chilli broth ready wrapped with perfect pleats. The perfection comes with the sprinkled fried garlic and bok Choy which delivers it's traditional taste.

So hurry and head here to stock up your pantry with Chinese condiments and for quick service affordable Chinese snacks that you won’t regret as an Oriental fan.
Cheers!

I never expected Pouchong to start fast food. Since childhood I knew them as a Chilli Sauce Manufacturing Company. Every 3 - 5 🌟 Restaurant in Kolkata purchases Pouchong Products.

I was amazed to see Pouchong on Zomato, that also in collaboration with Ming Dimsum.

I had ordered for a couple of Pork Baos, Chicken Baos, Fish Sui Mai and Deep Fried Fish Balls. The bill was pretty high for me, as the packaging came in a poor condition. However the delivery was on time. The size of the Pork/Chicken Baos were too small, but I loved the rest.

I would definitely recommend this Fast Food Joint.

Dropped in for some dimsums. Ordered barbeque pork bao (57 rupees), and pork & fish suimai (153 rupees). One of the best baos I have had till date. The Suimai was great for it's price, however I have had better suimai for sure. They also sell varieties of sauces, noodles, frozen dimsums, and other products. This place is primarily for delivery and take away, however they have a few stools outside where you can sit and eat; the negative being there was no drinking water available.

Pouchong is such a beauty... On a rainy afternoon I had barbq juicy pork bao, pork and fish sui mai and pork dumplings... Pork bao just melted into the tongue... Sui mai was also good with a pungent fishy smell... Their momos are really awesome, the coating is very thin and meat inside the dumpling is extremely juicy... The pork fat was infused into the coating... What surprises you is these all comes with a very minimal price... Generally it's a take away and home delivery but nowadays you can sit over a plate of dimsums and can have a chitchat with your friend...

Tried for the first time from Ming Dimsum & Pouchong Asian Products outlet from Kasba today ! Ordered online👍
Had the Pork BBQ Bao, Pork Steamed Momo, Fish & Veggie Sui Mai, Pork Wanton Soup, Fish-Prawn -Mushroom Balls in Hot Garlic Sauce & Sliced BBQ Pork. The later two had with steamed rice from the house. The prices are pocket friendly, the portions are good and the taste was exceptionally good and brought back memories of Old China Town !

Ordered via Zomato: Chicken Bao and Chicken BBQ Bao. Came in separate small boxes, with two chilly sauce sachets. The buns were light and fluffy, and weren't spicy at all. It tasted best with the chilly sauce. I preferred the taste of the Chicken BBQ over Chicken; the chicken pieces were larger and had more flavour.
The only qualm is the size of the tai bao. Eating each half felt like eating a large but fluffy momo.
The Zomato location is wrong, look at Google Maps if you visit. This place is on the main road, Tribarna bus stop, opposite Calcutta Calling.

Pouchong is a brand that's not new to Calcutta thanks to the small but thriving Chinese community. Their restaurant though is a complete new venture and I'm writing this review after eating half a dozen times.

Somehow the closest thing to this place is the teritti breakfast and somehow it's nothing like the teritti breakfast. It has its own signature take on a Chinese healthy and hearty meal.. Starting from the soup with fish ball made famous to Calcutta by the old aunty at the intersection of territi. However compared to the original relatively bland soup that has to be seasoned, this one has an amazing flavour dominated by shitake mushrooms. The sui mai with fish and vegetables is fresh, soft and ample, it has a lot of fish without being just a fish dish.

The pork wanton soup still has the amazing flavour of shitake however the wantons are one of the best in South Calcutta, silky melt in mouth with a proper seasoned filling. The pork bao has one of the best fillings out there in this price range, it's not a giant piece of steamed dumpling like territi but has an ample barbecued pork filling that has the right amount of heat. Never had the chance to taste the actual barbecue pork though. Next time.

The negatives. Well, wantons are not meant to be had fried and I made the mistake once, don't be a typical bengali like me. This place really should be a restaurant. For all you avid Chinese cooking enthusiasts. They've the dried shitake mushrooms, shaoxing cooking wine and even salted duck eggs, pretty much your entire ingredient slot for cooking an amazing south east Asian degustation

If you want the authentic China Town food (without the Bangali twists , i.e.; usual jhal-jhal chowmein and lawnkagnuro dewa fried rice ) then this is the place.

Had the entire menu many times over as this is in my neighbourhood. But the BBQ pork bao, the fish-pork-mushroom balls in hot soup and the steamed pork wantons shine the brightest.

Then they have 'Cheung' (on request, off the menu) which is rice, masoor daal, salt, black pepper and the fattiest cuts of pork steamed in a bamboo leaf parcel. If you are a true pork lover, ask for this.

I don't need to praise the Pou Chong branded Chinese cooking ingredients because it is a trusted name across continents both in professional and home kitchens. But I must mention their salted boiled duck eggs (imagine an intensely duck egg flavoured soft cheese, goes amazingly with hot, plain rice ), their home-made tofu and their sliced marinated BBQ pork (stir-fry it at home or get it stir-fried then and there). They also sell excellent Jasmine tea at much-lower than-market rate.

If you stay in the neighbourhood, this is the place you can go steady with. If you stay far away, this place warrants many, many happy visits with large group of friends, no matter how modest your budget is.

I ordered steamed chicken momos today. The momos itself were great for which I have given 4* but I'm disappointed with the condiment(sauce). It was smelling purely of vinegar. The sauce was nowhere near to the lovely crushed red chilli and garlic sauce which is usually served with momos. Another thing is, this particular joint does not serve soup with momos.

Today we ordered 2 pork dishes from Ming Dimsum.
Fish, Pork mushroom ball in Schezwan sauce and pork barbeque sliced. Zomato delivered our food on time. So it was plus point from zomato end but packaging was pathetic.
Fish, Pork mushroom ball in Schezwan sauce (2.5/5)-
They put the sauce item in a cheap paper box. It was all spilled up from the box and messed up total packaging.
As per my knowledge in fish ball generally we use Chitol fish which have very strong flavour. But here I missed that particular flavour. Though it was tasty and Schewzan sauce enhanced it's taste. Apart from messed up packaging and almost no remaining portion of schewzan sauce , it was a nice dish to try.

Pork barbeque sliced (4/5) - really superb dish. Like it thoroughly. Perfect portion of soya sauce used. Not too salty nor very light. Thinly cut Pork portion was full of flavours. Will definitely try this item again.

When you're ordering from the iconic Pou Chong brand you know you're in for a surprise. So, it's time for a family meal from the Pou Chong Ming Dimsum outlet in Tribarno bus stand near acropolis mall. The stash of delicacies contained fish ball soup, chicken steamed wontons, chicken Siumai, pork Siumai and 2 plates of Pork BBQ Baos. All this came at a price of less than 750 INR with each dish priced around 150-200 INR.
First and foremost are the delicate Baos. So tender and stuffed with juicy pork that it melts in your mouth. The fish ball soup is another excellent tale cooked in mild aroma and flavour. The pork siumai are delicious and soft. It tastes better than the chicken Siumai..As for the wontons they are good choice..overall good ..waiting to try their duck rice balls and roasted pork.

A small outlet of the famous sauce merchants from Chattawala Gully. Spotting the tiny outlet shouldn't be a problem though. Getting off at Triborno and walking a bit should lead you to this place.
They not only deal in the normal items dealt in by their parent store but are also deal in (both ready to eat and frozen) Chinese and Tibetan snacks.
The food is both good and cheap. The momos however stand out because of their coating. Being a momo connoisseur myself, their momo particularly stood out because of the shiny and extra thin coating. A few other popular items would be the BBQ Pork/Chicken Bao and the Garlic Chicken Bao. This place is perfect for an evening adda with friends or family.
Also trying out a recent addition to their menu is a must for all pork lovers. It's a dish called Sliced Barbeque Pork which is their take on dry roasted chilly pork. It's not displayed on their zomato menu but you'll find it on a small paper cut-out outside their shop. Best when consumed hot.

As there is no sitting space, it's a primarily a store but you can sit and eat if you are okay with the tool arrangement. Ordered #ChickenSchezwanBao #FishBallSoup #MushroomTofuMomo. All for 290 bucks. Coming to food, the Bao was certainly good but the trophy lies with Fish Ball Soup. Absolutely light and delicious. The fish balls didn't had any fishy raw smell at all. The momos were really tasty with Pou Chong red chilli sauce. Certainly worth visiting if you can make effort to locate but once you locate the store, you will come back again. All the best to Janice and team. It will be great if they can make an effort to open a store in Mumbai. They have home delivery till Dhakuria on minimum order of 300 bucks and 50 bucks as delivery charge. Also frozen momos are available for home fry or steamed in a minimum pack of 20's. Request to all my friends in south Kolkata to visit it. The fare is exclusively based on Dimsum concept and light meals in a rush.

I feel so lucky to have a visit here. If u have some authentic Tibetan cuisine at extremely low price then this will be the must have place in your bucket list. We were the 350th customer at evening on poila boishak. Just imagine their sell. This is a small food stall with some tools outside for seating. They are also selling varieties of sauces. I think you will find all kind of sauces that you ever need for home made Chinese dishes. Beside us there were 5 other families/couples, still they served us within 20 mins all 4 dishes. And their baos.. finger licking good. Can u guess you are having baos in just 50 bucks!!! Wantons were also delicious, but I thought it will come within soup(by seeing the picture at menu card). Some fried garlic crushes were garnished over it which add some extra taste. Compared to others Momo's were average still better than other roadside food stall at same price. Pocket pinch was 310/- only. Absolutely Recommended.

Reaching this place is not a tough job , locate Lawrence n mayo / Calcutta calling restaurant and this shop is on the opposite side of the road. Don't navigate using the pinned zomato or facebook locations , both of which are incorrect.
There are two plastic tables and few tools on the adjacent footpath arranged and self service is implied.
We liked two out of four dishes we ordered. The CHICKEN HONEY SESAME BAO and CHICKEN MOMO IN SCHEZWAN SAUCE were stunning. If you have a sweet palate , do opt for this open bao , else the honey added to it might not be liked by people who tends to avoid sweetness in their food. The momos were great too.
The other two were BARBEQUE PORK BAO , these were closed bao with a bland and dry filling , hardly we could get some juicy pork in barbeque sauce which we were looking for, 50 bucks for this isn't justified. The PORK SUI MAI had a horrible smell and disliked by everyone.

I was waiting for this place to be covered by Zomato and finally it did!
A very small joint but amazing taste of food.
It is apt for take away and and very few places to sit.
First, the behaviour of the lady in the shop is very good...very welcoming
Now the food...
We ordered:
BBQ Pork Bao (this is must try....the taste of pork along with softness of the bao was awesome)
BBQ Chicken Bao
Fish Sui Mai
Chicken  momo in garlic sauce ( a wholesome food)
Chicken cheese momo (steamed)- Here I could not really find out the cheese
Pork Yam Wanton (It is steamed and bamboo shoot kind of smell...well I liked it....choose as per your taste bud)

This place opened up a couple of months ago near Tribarna Bus Stand which is very close to Acropolis Mall and bang opposite to the Restaurant "Calcutta Calling".

They were initially offering only take away products which was their range of varied Sauces,Noodles,Vinegar,Imported items such as Canned Babycorn,Shitake Mushrooms etc which was a delight in itself as it's difficult to get all their products under one roof even in different Hypermarts.

To add to that, they have recently introduced a range of savoury quick bites such as Baos,Momos (Steamed,Fried & Pan Fried),Dimsums,Wontons,Fish Balls in different sauces and soup,FPM (Fish+Pork+Mushroom)Balls in varied sauces and soup. However, they don't have options of Pro when it comes to Monks but have so for Bao,Wantons,FPM and Sui Mai.

They also have good options for vegetarians including Mushroom,Tofu and Babycorn.

Price point is okayish across all items though it matters down to the taste.

I personally tried the Barbecue Pro Bao which costs only INR 50.It is a closed Bao and tasted average.I wish the filling was spicy and a little more in quantity as it felt pretty dry.But again,a good one as per the price point.

I didn't save the pictures (apart from the menu) as it was still not listed in Zomato when I tried it out.

Edited Review as on 14th June:

Was eagerly waiting to try some other items which I did and below are my observations:

■Pork Pan Fried Momo in Schezwan Sauce-It was simply amazing as it was totally spicy, just the way I like it.It had 8 large pieces and was priced at INR 130.It was not really in the menu but they prepared it anyways.

■Chicken Bao in Hit Garlic Sauce-This was again perfect as it was an open Bao with ample amount of Chicken in a perfectly made sauce though it could have been a tad more spicy for my liking. It is incredibly prices at INR 50.

■Fresh Tofu-This was a big block of fresh silken tofu priced at INR 20 only.I used it at home and it was perfect.Super happy and impressive.

■Salted Duck Egg-This was also priced at INR 20 and was such a beauty.

Changing my previous rating of 3.5 to 4.5 and absolutely looking forward in terms of trying out other items.

Such a lovely place. This place is located besides 6 Ballygunge Thali and will fall on the left if you are going from Acropolis Mall to Gariahat. It is an outlet that doubles up as a Momo and Bao joint & they sell varieties of Pou Chong products tanging from Sauce to Fish Oils to Squashes and many more. Consider what you get at a tiretti breakfast. You will get all of those, all day, at very cheap prices.

It is mainly a take away counter with two table in front where you can sit and eat. We had the Mustard Chicken Bao, Honey Seasame Bao, BBQ Pork Bao, Tofu Bao and a Fish Dimsum. Delectable. One of the best Baos I have ever had. Definitely the top 3 Suimai I habe ever tasted. The Baos cost as little as 45 or 50 and the 6 pc fish suimai cost 140.

The beautiful thing about this place is that they serve honest and simple food which is also very high on quality and quantity. At a very economical price point. Most definitely recommended.

PS: I took home a few bottle of Sauce and a packet of Singapore Noodles. Superior products.

Good place for quick bites. Chicken and Pork Dimsums are must try items. Basically a takeaway restaurant, not having adequate seating arrangements except some stools to sit on. One can buy a variety of sauces from the shop. Prices are decently good.

Very good place for Chinese dishes. But main problem is they take a little bit time to serve the food. If u are an authentic Chinese lover then must visit this place.

This is a place where you can get a proper Tibetan flavour. It gives you an aroma which you can only get in teritti bazar. They made momo sauce by their own and which is delicious. I will recommend this place to others for sure. 👍🏼

Authentic Chinese taste reminiscent of the trademark Teretti Bazaar breakfast. It's basically a take-away joint, there is a single table with 2 chairs of you want to have your food there. You'll also find a whole range of sauces and other Calcutta-Chinese items there.

Nothing so great. Pan fried momo contains less amount of salt. Chicken wantons were ok, chicken spring roll was average.

The only qualm is the size of the tie bao. Eating each half felt like eating a large but fluffy momo.

It is a good place to have the best dumplings the city has to offer! 🆕Edit 1🆕 My order was Pork Sui Mai. It's basically like a pork ball wrapped with momo cover. So, I don't think you'll enjoy it that much. But I fill like you'll get more meat here.

Definitely not a place to dine in..you have to seat on stool and footpath to enjoy your food. Anyway, coming to food, I liked the taste of momos and dimsum..but honestly both garlic chicken bao and seasame chicken bao were not that great..I mean the preparation of chicken items were okaish... Yes the bao itself was very soft... No noodles available here.. Didn't tried any noodles here...will do the same later... As of now only recommendation for momo and dimsum

Pou Chong Ming Dimsum is a food stall and a store for Tibetan cuisine, situated in Rash Behari Avenue, 3 minutes walk from the Acropolis Mall. It is a retail store of Pou Chong Sauce Factory which is situated at Tangra, Kolkata and a factory outset at Tiretti Bazaar. Here you can buy all Tibetan sauces, spices, staples like Rice, Noodles, Shitake Mushrooms, Vinegar, etc at a cheaper price than local stores. You will get authentic tibetan items. You can also try authentic tibetan food like steamed momos, bao, noodles, fries and many more. We have tasted Fried Chicken momo which was delicious. The menu is pocket friendly. The seating arrangement is on the footpath besides the store. It accepts all modes of payment keeping in mind the benefits of the customers.
