The melting pot is undoubtedly the destination for awesome food. The fish fingers were the best in the world. Really the best I've ever had. The dim sums were soft and tasty. The sweet corn soup was not sweet like most restaurants serve, it had the perfect seasoning and was a delight. We went in for a snack but ended up having so much. Melting Pot is a comparatively new addition to the list of eateries cropping up in Ballygunge Place . It's a new era eating joint serving Continental and Oriental cuisines . The place is simply but tastefully decorated . The seating is comfortable and the ambience is quiet , exuding a sort of warmth that was inviting .

Fish Fingers in Tartar Sauce - the fish was subtly flavored , soft inside with crispy ,crunchy coating served with french fries and Tartar sauce.
Sweet n Sour Crispy Chicken -the chicken was crispy but not chewy ,coated in a tangy sweet n sour sauce .
Grilled Fish in Lemon Butter Sauce -the fish was soft as soft can be, perfectly flavoured ,served with grilled veggies and creamy mashed potato
Shawarma Grilled Chicken with Garlic Yoghurt - Soft bite sized pieces of grilled chicken served on a bed tossed cabbages and cherry tomatoes along with a very interesting garlic flavored yoghurt .
Chicken Stroganoff - the chicken and the veggies were perfectly blended in a mildly flavored brown sauce served on a bed of tossed rice
Brownies with Chocolate Sauce -just yummy
Toffee Walnut -a concoction of crisp roasted walnuts ,oreos and chocolate icecream ...sinful
The portions were large ...the service was prompt and courteous . Each dish bore proof of the care and love the chef had put into it . To top it all , we were pleasantly surprised by the bill amount ...pocket friendly would be an understatement . A MUST TRY !
Yesterday visited the place and celebrated the success of my students in all India (NET) examination. The restaurant is not that much large but very well decorated interior. Foods were tasty specially the mocktails. Mango mojito mocktail was heavenly...we also tried Cola straw, Green apple mojito, Electric shock - all were unique. We all liked Pattaya fish. Opened only 9 months back but the place deserves 5 stars.

So, finally, got an invitation by FoodZpah to visit the place.
Located in Ballygunge, the ambience was extremely pleasing. We started with the delicious Thai stuffed chicken omelette, then came the Chicken Bao. Puffed up Bao stuffed with chicken tasted great. Then came Fish and Chips. The crispy fired fish was just amazing and the fries are mesmerizing. The dips went well along with it.
Then came the king, Stir Fried Shrimp. Well, in one word, it's WOW. I fell in love with it. Along with the starters we had mocktails- Electric Shock, Kit Kat Shake and Orange Mojito.
The Electric Shake was just superb and refreshing. Kit Kat Shake was amazing. Sweet tooth people will fall in love with it for sure. Orange Mojito was as delicious as it should be.
We then had Chicken Stroganoff, something that will make you fall in love with veggies. The taste delicious. We then had, Red Thai Curry with Steamed Rice. Since I'm not a fan of coconut I didn't enjoy it much. But yeah, Ofcourse, it's an amazing dish. We then had little Alfredo Pasta in White Sauce, as we were already so full, we could only had little.
The desserts were Tutti Frutti Ice-cream, something that serves fruits deliciously. The end was with Sweetheart, brownie with ice-cream, sinfully decorated in a glass.
Yahhhhh it's a new food destination for food fab bikes. It's awesome I had not gone except yesterday. The price is reasonable bt the taste of continental dishes are well made. The ambience is really very beautiful. It's a great destination for food fabbies
Went on a Saturday evening with my sister. It was my first visit there heard a lot about that place so finally made up my mind. It was very near to my place as well. Ordered chicken sizzler, Cantonese style noodles and masala coke. Food was good it terms of taste and quantity. Small and cosy place. Best place to hangout. Loved it

A perfect and cosy place to sit and spend time with your friends. The decor is absolutely lovely and kitschy. The tomato soup is just lovely and simply warms your from inside and the chicken quiche was nicely baked and had cheese just melting in your mouth.
The place is not that noticeable but once you enter the staff and the service will make you feel so comfortable that you won't feel like leaving. The food is yet another thing to appreciate. It tastes like it's cooked with love. The staff took extra care to add the vegetable of our choice in the noodles.

⚜️ Tsing hoi chicken- The chicken was extremely delicious and literally melted in the mouth with the first bite. It complemented well with fried rice.

Tried this place for the first time yesterday. Though from the outside it looks okayish but the interiors were neatly decorated and was quite cozy. The food was really good except the fried rice which was similar to the sticky rice and the sweet fresh lime soda which was not sweet at all. The staffs were a bit slow and misinformed. Located in the lanes of Ballygunge, this is situated just opposite to the BSNL office. The cafe is well decorated and the ambience is good. The staff here are courteous and prompt. We ordered the Chicken Sui Mai, which are 5 big dumplings served with two dips. These were really delicious and the pocket pinch was ₹250. A must try.Then we ordered the Pan fried chicken noodles, which again was delicious, having loads of chicken and vegetables. The Noodles were both soft and crunchy. Pocket pinch: ₹270. Again a must try.Then we had the chicken stroganoff, which was ok, served with herb and peppers rice. Pocket pinch: ₹330.All in all a good experience.
The chicken laagne was yumm with the perfect combination of spices and loads of cheese. Grilled fish in lemon butter sauce was pretty good too..

Such a gem this place turned out to be! The price of all the items were reasonable enough. We ordered:
1. Calamari in bbq sauce (squid dish)
2.Chicken Gyoza (dumplings)
3.Grilled fish in lemon butter sauce.
The highlight of my entire day was the calamari!! It was so soooo crispy, chewy and cooked to perfection! Trying octopus for the first time, I had a very high expectation and this dish lived up to it. A MUST TRY. 10/5!!!
Next, came the gyoza and blew us away once again. The crust was perfectly fried, while still soft. The chicken filling inside was adequate and juicy. 4/5
Lastly, the grilled fish was a bit of a disappointment. Mayne after the first two rockstars, anything else would be so :-D Nonetheless, the taste was a bit bland, and did not feel well grilled. 2/5

This cafe is a hidden gem. It is situated in the ballygunge area. Staff service is excellent and ambience is also quite good. This cafe basically serves chinese and continental food. I tried there chicken shumai, chicken parmigiana, chicken pan fried noodles, chicken chilli garlic rice, chicken in chilli oyster sauce and irish blended cold coffee. All the items are just awesome. I will love to visit there again.

Located in the interior lanes of Ballygunge, one of Kolkata's oldest places. This cafe, small in size but has its own charisma. With an attractive name, this cafe has a wide variety of food items in its menu. After a tiring afternoon, I went to have a sumptuous meal which would calm my soul.
I had the following items:
1. Cold Coffee: This was mainly due to the tiredness and to feel my body revamped and indeed it was much needed.
2. Chicken Lasagna: As last year has been a lasagna spree for me, among all the lasagna's I had I count this as one of my favourite one's.
3. Chicken Sizzler: Oh so hot sizzler which I looooove! This was niceeee!! Made my tummy happy.
One of those hidden gems in Kolkata, this tiny and cosy casual dining restaurant is based in Ballygunge Place and is regularly frequented by families (like mine) living in and around the area. They serve Continental, Indian and Chinese and all of it is damn good stuff as well as really easy on the pocket (A luxurious dinner for two costs about Rs. 900) My favourites on their menu are the Crispy Prawns in Hot and Sweet Sauce, the Seafood Suimai and the Crispy Chilli Mushroom. My dad always gets the Vegetarian Momos and is always very pleased with them. I usually end my meal with a hot cappuccino - waah this place has great coffee too!

We ordered chicken steak that was extremely buttery. I didn't have good lasagna for a while. They put the perfect amount of marinara and fill it with tons of cheese. We also had Chinese that was so tasty. Looking forward to visiting this place quite often and trying their desserts.

I took the road from ballygaunge station, so it was quite a walk of almost 15mins, so taking a cab might seem a better option or if someone is from the area, then that would be easier for them to visit. Google map is always a saviour, but one gotta be careful or might miss the place.
Opening the gate, the decor impressed me a lot, a small cozy place with quirky decoration, it surely will make you happy. And of course, they play hit playlists, so it would keep you cheered up throughout.
Sitting arrangements are comfortable and this place makes a great joint for evening hangout, lazy meetup, casual lunch/dinner date.
Coming to main part, food. They serve variety of popular dishes from suimai to sizzlers.
We chose,
◆ Chicken Lasagna: the amount is very filling and enough for two medium apetite persons. We specifically instructed them to reduce the extreme tangy flavour and make it bit spicey(we read from the reviews that the tangy flavour dominates). They followed and made it accordingly. It was good, cheesy, juicy, full of chicken.
◆ Grilled fish with butter garlic sauce: the amount is not very high, good enough for a person, but it won't be an issue if you are having it with other dish like we did. It had three medium chunk of basa fish with herbed rice and veggies. It tasted very good.
Do not expect anything extraordinary, heavenly out of the foods they serve. But surely, a budget and cozy cafe with good quality food to choose among other joints.
The staffs were courteous, and well mannered.
Would love to visit again.

♥️Stuffed chicken : This was again another awesome dish. The chicken was perfectly grilled and the stuffing was of panner and cheese smashed which was totally yum with the garlic sauce from top and the plate also contained a small amount of rice which was equally Yummmmmm ❤️

This place is not that hard to find unless u go from the main road of Ballygunge Palace because Google Maps will confuse u. Took 20 mins to find this place.
Entering u will be surprise to see that it's a well decorated cafe with nice seating arrangements.
Coming to food we ordered Tom Kha Gai, a thai soup which was super creamy, tasty and full of veggies.
Singaporean Noodle were authentic coz it was made with rice noodles and nice curry flavour was added to it. Nasi Goreng was completed just leaving the Krupuk( Prawn Crackers) which was not given. Chicken Suimai was heaven. It was so tasty and filling just awesome!

A quaint small place that can be easily missed on the roadside. Its inside is also cozy and small with courteous friendly staff. The food exceeded my expectations in taste and look. Tried out Pattaya Fish which had mustard sauce and coastal flavours. The Chicken Gyoza dumpling was simple( contained 5 pieces). Grilled fish in lemon butter sauce though a bit less in quantity and chicken Stroganoff were both delicious and yum. This place needs a visit at least once.

A cozy warm eatery very near to Ballygunj tram depot bus stop. Nice place for a quiet date. Zomato gold is applicable on the whole food menu(excluding drinks of course). The staff are courteous. The food is delicious. We had--
• Caramel Crunch shake-- it was okay. Not a thick shake.
• Brownie shake-- again an okay shake.
• Calamari in bbq sauce-- really nice dish. It was very crunchy and sweet with a hint of heat from crushed pepper. The amount was really great! However, the squid inside could have been a little more soft.
• Chicken steak-- beautifully grilled chicken. Soft juicy with perfect grill marks and the right amount of smokiness. There were two such pieces. It came with a mushroom sauce,mashed potatoes and sautéed veggies. Only thing was that the chicken and sauce lacked salt.
• Chicken lasagna-- good creamy,cheesy and tangy lasagna. Very filling. The amount was quite something! It was difficult for two of us to finish.

Nice quaint little place, tucked away in a bylane just ahead of Ballygunje place.
Went for a casual dinner and was pleasantly surprised by the homely feel, prompt service and above averag fare on offering.
Went for the spicy Cajun chicken and Pattaya fish as starters. 4/5 for the chicken, not spicy enough and didn't feel like authentic Cajun cuisine, that being said it was tasty enough and juicy enough to qualify as high quality chicken fingers. Only to good things to say about the Pattaya fish, a hint of lemon grass and fresh bass makes this one a mouth watering affair. In the main course one of my friends went for the lamb steak, again , to me it seemed more like a risotto with lamb patty, but it was tasty nonetheless, so 4/5. My partner and I went for the shredded Hunan chicken and Hakka chow mein, and the chicken in particular seemed spot on in terms of taste, mildly spicy with a lemony tinge and the succulence of the chicken made this a great side with the chowmein.
The overall pinch was around 2k, slightly pricy according to me given the overall ambience, service levels and feel of the place, but a very strong 4 in my book. Worth a visit for a leisurely meal, not so much a special occasion place though

Small n cosy, cafe cum restaurant at ballygunge place opposite to BSNL office (location was bit tricky). Yesterday, me n my wife went for a dinner at melting pot. The place was just simply awesome and decorated very nicely. We have ordered stir fried chilly fish, chilli garlic egg chicken fried rice and chicken with szechwan sauce. The foods were just lip smacking and hospitality was royal. Highly recommended and it's good for one time visit.
MELTING POT, located at Ballygunge, just opposite BSNL Ballygunge Kendra.. Melting pot is surely melt your heart and fill your pot belly with some lip smacking delicious food.. Coming to the food we ordered miced fried rice and one hunan chicken.. The Quality was upto the mark bt i am nt at all happy with the quantity.. Though the chicken dish was quiet reasonable bt not the fried rice. That's not even for one actually.. So besides that both of the dishes taste was good.. Overall experience was good..

🐠🍟 Fish & Chips - Everytime I have been here, I have ordered this first thing off the menu. The fish is fresh and crispy, the thin and tasty batter is flawless. The dip is to die for. Filling.
🌽Crispy Chilli Babycorn - Quantity wise, four people can share it. Plus it is good. Sometimes it can get a little chewy because of the honey and too long under the room temperature cooling.
🍚 Mixed fried rice - Steaming and nice. Good serving quantity for two.
🍛 Sweet & Spicy Tsing Hoi Chicken - Tasty, not too spicy or too sweet at all, just the right amount of it. Good proportion served.
If you want to enjoy a calm afternoon and eat some good food, this is the place to go to. The menu boasts of Continental and Chinese food. We had some delectable chicken lemon coriander soup and some steamed dumplings. The dumplings were huge and the filling was moist and juicy. For the main course, we ordered a steak and some stroganoff. The steak platter consisted of a huge chunk of chicken, vegetables and mashed potatoes. The potato mash could have been more flavorful though. The stroganoff was good. The thivk , creamy gravy was just heavenly with the rice.
The pocket pinch is very light. Worth a visit!
Very good food. Their continental and chinese dishes are excellent. There is a dessert called Sweetheart and it is a must for all the chocolate lovers! Will surely visit again. The ambience is also nice.

This place was there in my wishlist since a long time. Finally I visited this place today. Located in Ballygunge area, about 7 minutes walking from Phari, a little ahead of Chowman, this place has a faded and shabby appearance at the outside. As you pull the door open, the restaurant's decor will grow on you. The ambience is warm and cozy. The staff is cordial and welcoming. We ordered Cajun Spice Chicken, Chicken Pan Fried Dumplings and Veg Pad Thai Noodles. To my utter surprise the overall quantity was a little too much for two. The prices were reasonable too. Coming to the taste, the cajun spice chicken was nothing but crispy fried chicken strips. The pan fried dumpling was not something I expected it to be. It was like a grilled dumpling with a fairly good taste. My favourite of the lot was the Pad Thai Noodles which was slightly sweet in taste but extremely delicious. So, in a nutshell, this place is worth one visit!

A true hidden gem once upon a time, I’m proud and glad to have discovered this place a couple of months back and told all of my friends about the same.
The place ticks all the boxes, be it Ambience, Service, Menu Variety, Taste and Price.
Must tries are the Crunchy Caramel Shake, Thai Curry, Fish n Chips and Green Apple Mojito.
Located in the lanes of Ballygunge, this is situated just opposite to the BSNL office.
The cafe is well decorated and the ambience is good. The staff here are courteous and prompt. We ordered the Chicken Sui Mai, which are 5 big dumplings served with two dips. These were really delicious and the pocket pinch was ₹250. A must try.
Then we ordered the Pan fried chicken noodles, which again was delicious, having loads of chicken and vegetables. The Noodles were both soft and crunchy. Again a must try.
Then we had the chicken stroganoff, which was ok, served with herb and peppers rice.
All in all a good experience.
Situated on Cornfield Road in Ballygunge, this gem of a restaurant has been operating for the last 03 years, and yet not many people are aware of its existence because the location is a bit toward the interiors, away from the main road.
I visited here for lunch with my parents on a weekend, and we were totally impressed with our dining experience. The interior designing, the overall ambience, the ergonomic usage of space, the cordial service, the absolutely amazing food, and not to forget - attention to hygiene & sanitization, all of which came at quite a reasonable price, together presented themselves as one lovely package.
I'd highly recommend any of their sizzlers and steaks, since we kind of tried most, along with the lip smacking starters, especially the Crispy Konjee Lamb.

Ok so here I am, and this is one of the very very honest review that you guys are going to get about this place. Besides food quality, quantity and pricing, this review will also provide you with an honest confession about the ambience and hospitality which are one of "the most important" things of a quality restaurants.
Let's begin with the location. This food spot is located on 89B Ballygaunge Place Kolkata which also happens to house some other legendary food spots of kolkata. The easiest way to reach out here is to reach Gariahat Tram Depot traffic signal and take right turn (if you are coming from Gariahat) or left turn (if you are going towards Gariahat) and then go straight and take the 1st left turn, then on the left side after 3-4 plots is Melting Pot.
Don't brood much on the exterior simple styling of this spot, I am sure as soon as you will open the door and enter inside the ambience will win you over. The beautifully decorated graffiti, the well carved out furnitures, the beautifully planned and decorated counter and the dim yet soothing lighting will tell you about the class of the place.
The quality of the food is simply awesome! If you get confused by the name of the continental items, I would suggest to ask for help from the most well mannered manager I have met yet, KRISHNA MANDAL. Wow that guy is such a nice person and will thoroughly take care of your cravings, by suggesting you about the food that should suit your taste buds. He is well behaved, highly courteous, and most attentively listens to you and suggest you the best for you. The price of the food I felt is a bit on a higher side for a middle class family, but then, every good things come with a price tag right...
Service time, well I should say one might feel it's comparatively higher, bt I should say this little patience will bring bliss to your taste buds. Well to be honest they are aware about this little "glitch" and they sincerely do their best everytime you place your order, to serve you the earliest possible. However the hospitality and the little chit chat with the manager never made us felt waiting.
I would suggest to visit this place definitely with your family, friends or even a date, as this place is sure to make everyone feel special and to and give in to your cravings. Its a pocket friendly small cafe near Ballygunge place. I was invited in Food Testing event conducted by Foodzpah. The interior is well lit & well decorated. The staffs were very courteous and attentive.
Coming to the Food Items, I would like to mention few of the items that I loved much;
●Orange Mojito: It was an wonderful welcome drink with an Orangey tang to the original Mojito flavour. ☆☆☆☆
●Thai Stuffed Chicken Omlette: This item is basically an Omlette stuffed with minced chicken & spices. It has a nice taste to it. ☆☆☆☆
●Fish and Chips: This popular English dish is well loved in Kolkata. The decoration was pretty cool. Its Bassa fillet coated with Bread crumbs & deep fried. Its served with French Fries & Mayonnaise on side. ☆☆☆☆☆
●Chicken Steamed Dimsum: This one has the Classic Tibetan authenticity & its really tasty. The Chilli Garlic sauce served on the side was pretty good as well. ☆☆☆☆☆
●Chicken Stroganoff: It's a Russian dish of sautéed pieces of Chicken served in a sauce with smetana (sour cream) & Buttered rice on side. From its origins in mid-19th-century Russia, it has become popular around the world, with considerable variation from the original recipe. ☆☆☆☆☆
●Green Thai Curry served with Rice: The name "green" curry derives from the color of the dish, which comes from green chillies.The "sweet" in the Thai name (wan means "sweet") refers to the particular color green itself and not to the taste of the curry. As this is a Thai curry based on coconut milk and fresh green chillies, the color comes out creamy mild green or, as this color is called in Thai, "sweet green". Its ingredients are not exactly fixed. The curry is not necessarily sweeter than other Thai curries but, although the spiciness varies, it tends to be more pungent than the milder red curries. In This occasion they have added medium pieces of chicken in the ingredients. It has a really nice flavour if you have it with Rice. ☆☆☆☆
●Tutti Frutti: This was the perfect ending to the sumptuous lunch. The ingredients were Vanilla Ice-cream, Strawberry Syrup & Fruits prepared in a glass in layers. You should try this if you visit Melting Pot. ☆☆☆☆
Overall it was a really great lunch. I would recommend this place to everybody & would rate it as 5/5.
The chicken momos, virgin mojito, and Chinese options are good. Ordered the Chicken Stroganoff, wasn't the biggest fan. Herb rice was good though. Ambience is pretty basic. Would recommend for a weekend lunch!

1) GREEN APPLE MARTINI- I became mad after having this green apple flavoured beverage with its sweet mint aroma and I also loved the presentation with its side green sugar splits
2) WATERMELON MOJITO- Most charming beverage I ever had. It maddened me with its sweet watermelon essence. Must have this beverage.
3) STRAWBERRY COFFEE SODA- Lovely innovative drink with a taste of strawberry syrup and coffee punch. Tastes a lil bit different but good 👌

1) FISH RED THAI CURRY- Ahhhh! Fabulous.. first time I tried red thai gravy and it was just yummm... feels like heaven with its light and soft flavour of the fish and the curry
2) CHICKEN STROGANOFF- Light flavoured dish with chicken and veggies with some rice with herbs.. tastes really great 😍
3) CHICKEN SIZZLER- This dish was awesome with its soft and juicy flavour of chicken some veggies and rice. Tastes really great
4) FISH SIZZLER- This dish was so yummy with its tender fish and cheesy flavour. Love the delicacy 😍
