The best south indian food served in kolkata is ar Dosa Coffee. I cannot recount how many times I have visited this place or ordered.
Love love love the idlis- super soft and melts in your mouth ! The dosa variety is quite exhaustive - especially love the dhaniya ghee roast dosa!
The service is very good.
Keep it up don’t compromise on quality. Pls good luck full Team.
I went there to have breakfast and to be honest wasn't that sure about this place as I went there for the first time,as all the "known places" were closed in and around that area. To my surprise I was bowled over with the taste but mostly with the courteous service that I received as a first thing in the morning. Really had a great time.
Very delicious Mysore dosa👏🏻
If you are looking for the best South Indian food in town, just come here. You won't be disappointed.
Ghee Roast Dosa is Superb!
Awesome food! Must try the ghee roast dosa!
Never ever thought of such authentic South Indian Food could be served in the city of Kolkata. A great outlet for a must try. It has become my habit by now, as the hygiene maintained is Par Excellence. My take out of the product is Steam Dosa and South Indian Suji Halwa.
Malkapodi dosa and fried idli is the must try here... also the variety of chutneys are more than u xpect

Dosa Coffee, a restaurant serving some fresh, hot and quality South Indian cuisine. They a variety of idlis, dosas, uttapams, vadas, chutneys and Kerela speciality items on the menu. It is at the hub of the city near the Minto Park crossing and opens around 7am in the morning. It's a perfect place for breakfast, lunch and dinner!! It's a pure vegetarian outlet and had a seating capacity of around 40 pax, spread across the ground and first floor. They have an open kitchen and the place is kept absolutely clean which is very essential.
✓Filter coffee
✓Raw mango ghee roast- Tried this dosa for the first time and I #highlyrecommend it. If you love the sour flavour in food and raw mango, this is your perfect pick. It's a ghee roast and 2 medium sized dosas come with the white coconut chutney and sambar.
✓Paniyarappam- These look like small idlis but are made from the dosa batter which is flavoured with tomato, onion and chillies. It out served with the signature white coconut chutney.
✓Spicy tomato onion chutney- They have a list of chutneys which you can order from apart from the signature one served and the spicy tomato one was bomb! It is delicious and you can have it with any of the items on the menu.
The staff is well trained and courteous. The place is aesthetically done up and quite peaceful. A striking feature about this place was the doodle done by one of the staff. It is beautiful and kept their for display!

They have amazing south indian food. I love the garlic dosa and gunpowder masala. They had a special chutney too and idli was soft and fresh. Loved it.
The place is really good when comparing to other restaurants of that area both in terms of Price and Food Quality. But, they really need to work on the quantity of the food. Quantity served was very less. Staffs and ambience makes this a perfect place.
Located near Minto park, Dosa coffee is an easily accessible south indian cafe serving authentic south indian delicacies. The Idli was a perfect 'melt in the mouth' and rest of the the dishes were also good.
Traditional, authentic, yet modern, best describes Dosa Coffee!
Dosa Coffee is the newest entrant in category "South Indian Cuisine" and it has opened up in Ideal Plaza, Sarat Bose Road. This place scores a perfect 10 on all counts such as taste, value for money, presentation, interiors and service. The staff here are both attentive and courteous. Almost all the dishes here are served on a banana leaf, and are accompanied with unlimited servings of Sambar and Coconut Chutney. If you like your dosas super crisp, go for their unique ‘ghee roast’ dosas which are both thin and very crunchy. Some of the other must try dishes here include Medu Vada, Malbar Paratha, Raw Mango Dosa, Onion Uttapam, MLA Pesarattu, Payasam. End your feast with a hot cup of Filter Coffee which is brewed to it’s optimum texture and it just cannot get more real than this.
I'm someone who prefers eating dosas at the restaurant itself rather than packing it or getting it home-delivered because the dosas become soggy. So I would personally recommend y'all to visit this place and also do order the various special chutneys (specially the pink chutney) that they offer.
Butter masala dosa,dahi vada,malkapodi idli,upma,kesari halwa,filter coffee was good.
Great ambience. Staff were good too.

On my recent visit with my friends I tried their Strawberry Shake, Chocolate Shake, Bisbelle Bhaat, Tomato Sevaii and Malkapodi Dosa. The food here really deserves appreciation. The taste of each and every item was mind-blowing. If you are here do try out their wide range of chutneys.

By far the best South Indian food in Kolkata. Authentic taste, freshly made, and great staff who are ready to recommend dishes and great service.. Malkapodi Idli is a must try when here for breakfast. The place opens at 7am on weekends unlike most of the laid back Kolkata restaurants. Great place must visit.
So from now onwards... If you want to enjoy some authentic, fresh, preservative free food in a extremely well maintained hygiene veg South Indian Restaurant... Where you need to go??? You need to go to this place... Superb fresh food... I had one of my best experience with South Indian food here... Staffs are really well trained and extremely courteous... Also the ambience is bright and beautiful... They are also the first ever South Indian Restaurant with an open kitchen... Coming to the food... Quantity wise it was bit little... But quality wise it was awesome... I must recommend their... 1. Malkapodi Idlli 2. Coconut Ghee Roast Dosa 3. Malabar Paratha (consists of 2 parathas, 2 kormas and 1 stew) 4. Dahi Vada 5. Filter Coffee 6. Strawberry Milkshake... Outstanding taste... Lovely quality... Overall my experience was extremely good... Pocket Pinch here is quite acceptable... Disclaimer: This review is based on invitation from the Restaurant Management..
This is a new South Indian restaurant near Minto Park. I tried a no of dishes from their menu. The dahi vada was great and the dahi was thick.
Next I had the dhaniya Ghee Roast Dosa and Raw Mango Ghee Roast Dosa. They were delicious and the raw mango stuffing was lovely.
The MLA Pesarattu was good as well. The stuffing was nice.
I also tried the Malabari Paratha. It was soft and flaky and went well with the veg and paneer sides. It was accompanied by a veg soup which was amazing.
Apart from the food, the service was great. The pricing is quite affordable.

Was here today for a quick lunch after a tiring day. The location of the place is extremely good and the decor is extremely beautiful. The behaviour of the staffs is appreciable as well. We tried dahivada - this had a very unique and perfect taste of the dahi with the masalas and was just yummy.
Next i tried the two roasts - dhania ghee roast and raw mango ghee roast. I honestly loved the raw mango ghee roast more since it was extremely delectable and was something very new in the menu for me.
The MLA pesanattu had rice fillings and also was a first time try for me. I quite liked this one as well.
Lastly I tried the Malabar Parathas which was served with mixed vegetables and paneer butter masala. This combination was absolutely the best one and is highly recommended. Overall i loved each of the items. Also service time was very less.
Fantastic food .. i would recommend the ghee roast platter.
Excellent place for South Indian- Should try the different chutneys especially Mango chutney
Situated on the ground floor of Ideal Plaza at Minto Park this place is clearly visible from the road and traffic. Parking is available in the building itself.
Upon entering you feel so very peaceful.
Very minimalist decor with white paint everywhere.
Black chairs and table giving the whole place a classy look.
Staff was very courteous.
Service was good too.
The restaurant is spacious.
We had Malkapodi Dosa, Mixed Uttapam, Rasam and Mixed Soda Lime. All were simply wow.
If we had the appetite then we would surely tried some other things too.
This place serves only vegetarian food.

Dosa Coffee, Kolkata, offers traditional South Indian food being served with a twist. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Malabar Paratha : Some of my favorite flaky parathas served with 3 types of korma - mixed vegetable, paneer korma, and potato stew. Must try!
⭐⭐⭐️⭐️⭐️⠀⠀
Masala Vada : Lentils and spices fried to make a perfect crisp snack to go with your coffee.
⭐⭐️⭐⭐⭐️⠀⠀
⠀
Guntur Karam Podi Dosa : Crispy dosa filled with the spiciest filling from edge to edge. My favorite from their menu!
⭐⭐⭐⭐️⭐️⠀
Steam Dosa : A softer version of regular dosas, cooked in steam, and definitely a lot less greasy. Served with potato and paneer korma, this was another simple but satisfying option on their menu. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⠀⠀
⠀
Idly : Soft and satiating, almost comparable to the melt-in-your-mouth idlies of Jyoti Vihar. Also pictured: some GREAT filter coffee, in the background.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⠀⠀
⠀
Tomato Onion Uttapam : Crispy and delicious, you can’t go wrong with a tomato onion uttapam.

The best South Indian in town for sure. Great quality and very elaborate menu.
Great food, great service, amazing value for money!
Tried this new South Indian joint that recently opened in the Ideal Plaza on Sarat Bose Road. I tried the masala Dosa & Filter Coffee for brunch. Dosa was crispy & served with tasty veggies, sambar & white chatni & you could actually ask for extra sambar or chatni with no additional cost. Dosa was served on typical south Indian steel thali with a banana leaf on it. The coffee was one of the best filter coffee I have had lately, which too was served in a steel glass & steel bowl & white sugar. Staffs were very courteous & helpful. They have arrangements of two storeys with doodles all over the place. Must visit if you love Souty Indian food.
It was an awesome experience having lunch at Dosa Coffee at Kolkata, Sarat Bose road. The staff members were very nice at the location and the staff who served our food Ajay Jena is so nice.
He served all the food items quickly to us. All the items taste were best and pure. Hygiene was on top priority. We all really enjoyed our meal at this venue. Highly recommended. Value for money restaurant.

Great service, great atmosphere and amazinggggg food. Their filter coffee and dosa is a must try! We had paper masala dosa and malkapodi idli which is so good.
Have been to many of their shops in different locations. In this place, I tried paper dosa, the dosa was crisps to the fullest and was perfect with the white coconut chutney & shambar. Enjoyed the light evening snacks.
Very good place for South Indian dishes..
I visited last night and had a masala dosa, followed by the halwa dessert, which was light and tasty. The service was great and the atmosphere was fine. A great spot for a tourist to get a light snack/dinner.
This is a wonderful place to have some authentic South Indian dishes . The ambience is wonderful as it has two areas of seating arrangements. The staffs were all well behaved and all are vaccinated. Each and every items were fresh and tasty.

Garlic Dosa
Dhaniya Dosa
Sada Dosa

I really like it and very happy to visit here.
Amazing taste..

The dish that I tried was:
Appam with Stew
Mixed Uttapam
Plain Ghee Roast Dosa
Potato Masala
Dhaniya Dosa
Garlic Dosa
Sada Dosa
Potato Masala
Malabar Paratha (2pc) with Paneer Kormal
Special Chutney Platter
Malkapodi Idli Plate
Malkapodi Dosa
Paniyarapam
Medu Vada Plate
Filter Coffee
From the vast menu above, I can say one thing for sure that this restaurant may prove to be a heaven for the south indian lover's ❤️. Among all the dosa that I have tried the sada dosa is simply plain dosa with no flavour so won't be recommending that, but the rest are taste worthy specially the Dhaniya dosa and the garlic dosa. Malabar paratha was normal but the paneer kormal is just mind blowing. I feel like the idli's were a bit thin other than that it's good. Paniyarapam's are like small fried idli's and with all the chutneys it can give you a taste of heaven.
Overall the experience was amazing, the staffs were nice, the restaurant was clean. Worth a visit.
Best South Indian food I ever had in my life....
This is an amazing place to have South Indian dishes. Their food is very tasty at a very reasonable price. I am very with the services provided by Sameer and Ahmed. Keep up the good work.
Want to try out indian food but can't handle the spice?
Indian food is globally recognised for its rich flavour and aromatic ingredients. But when we talk about South Indian food the story is bit different. It is for people who aren't fans of spicy food. @dosa coffee located at bhawanipur serves the best South Indian food in the town. More or less all varieties of South Indian cuisine are available here. This place also has a well furnished interior with proper seating arrangements.
Every dish was perfect to taste. I found malkapodi dosa, malabar paratha with paneer korma to be very delicious.
