I like to eat and Punjabi food is my weakness so when I heard about this place I was pretty psyched.
It is a small quaint and nice place which is always an advantage. Next, come the food and the fish tandoori was literally out of this world. But the biryani was a bit of a let down. I wish it were a little less sticky so I hope the next time I visit, it will be better!!!!
We made a booking through Nearbuy and visited this place.
We ordered:
Mickey Mouse: This was basically a cola float. I think the amount of coke used could've been more otherwise it was fine.
Crispy Chilli Fish: The preparation was very tasty but we're highly disappointed with the quality of fish used. It was clear that it was cheap quality fish used. When we pay so much for fish dishes at restros, we expect at least Basa or likewise to be served.
Veg Biriyani: They made it with strong flavours and paneer, vegetable pieces. It tasted quite different from Polao and was served in huge portions and quite beautifully.
Fish Tikka Masala: Once again the preparation was delightful, we loved the gravy. But they really shouldn't use fish with such stuffy smell in such preparations.
Service was okay, they were conversant with Nearbuy offers and the ambience is quite good for a Family restaurant. This is definitely a good place for revisiting.
Deep
Mouth watering Alu paratha and Punjabi dishes. loved tandoori fish.
Just went there today with my friends for early dinner. It is located in deshapriyo park just beside matargashti cafe. A little and sweet restaurant with a homely ambience. We ordered chicken 65 for starters. For main course we had keema kulcha, tandoori naan and chicken tikka masala along wd masala cold drinks. All this for only rs.805. Taxes were inclusive. The service was quite and they were very attentive. The food was a bit oily but it was very tasty . They gave us discount coupons too!! :) definitely visiting it very soon! Highly recommended 😊
awesome food, keema kulcha was yum ✌️
I would give it 3.9 stars Not 4. The reason being I like the food a lot but the quality of lassi is so bad that it ruined the taste of the platters for me. But the Ambience and the courteous people made up for it I still love this place and I visit there frequently. Love their butter chicken and naan combination.
Chickens were not so good but the gravy was simply wow.
The place is located very near to desapriya park. We went to this place as this was the only place nearby without a waiting line on a Saturday evening. The decor and feel of this place is very nice. We ordered a chicken sweet corn soup and a chicken hot and sour soup. The soups were great. Then we ordered a mutton galawti kebab. There were six pieces, but I felt that the size was a little small, for the price, could have given better. But the taste was amazing, soft and tender and it melts in your mouth. Then for the main course, we ordered a chelo kebab platter, one keema kulcha, one keema paratha , one bhuna mutton and a Dal makhani. We were 3 people, and we later realised that we had ordered a bit too much. But, anyways we did end up finishing our food. Now, coming to the food, the chelo kebab platter was amazing. It had a lot of kebabs, butter rice and egg poach. I liked the chelo kebab here, more than that of Peter cat. The keema paratha and naan were also very good. The Dal makhani was awesome, all buttery. What dissapointed me, was the bhuna mutton. Quantity was good but the taste. They had made it in Chinese way with capsicum . I didn't quite like the taste of it.But all in all, really happy with this place.
Oh God it was such a stormy evening! I was hungry, and I wanted to save myself from the bouts of heavy rain and storm, and I chose Little Punjab. Not that I regretted it.
The decore was tastefully done with lovely wallpapers. The lighting was sufficient. I sat down in a comfortable seat being ushered by a staff. He was a polite person and took genuine care of me.
I wanted to taste mustard shaag but did not find the name there in the menucard, which incidentally has beautiful picture of Punjab. Maybe I missed it. Anyway, I chose lassi, keema paratha and dal makhani and lastly masala coke.
The lassi arrived first in a beautiful goblet. The staff told me that it would be thick, and so it was, though not “ malai marke”. It was tasty too, unfortunately the quantity was too low, and I finished it in a jiffy, feeling unsatiated.
Paratha was crisp and cut into lovely triangles. Dal makhani was the best of all. I genuinely fell in love with it. So much so that I parcelled it for home.
Masala Coke was unfortunately not up to the mark. There was too much masala, drowning the taste of coke and salt.
The price is moderate in this age of GST. Overall good experience. Parking is some distance away.
Wow, what a Dal Amritsari....
and even good Kadai Murg...
Had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The decor is beautiful and the seating arrangements are really cosy, with little cushions to rest your back on.
We had the fresh lime soda, which was amazing. There was a hint of jaljira in it and I loved this little twist. We had smoked chicken legs, which were succulent and juicy. We had butter naan, veg jhalfrezi and chicken biriyani as well. The jhalfrezi is the best dish have tried in a long time. It had paneer, cauliflower, mushroom and beans. It was delectable! The biriyani was light and oil free and came with a big piece of chicken, potato and an egg.
There is no GST at the restaurant yet and the bill was a mere 640 rs. I cant wait to go back!
Went there on a sunday afternoon with the family. It was quite empty. We ordered Kashmiri pulao, veg makhanwala, chicken tikka masala and tandoori roti. Food came a bit late but the wait was definitely worth it. It was finger looking good and portions were great.
Went there yesterday with family. The food was good, service was good, ambience was good, portions were good and overall good value for money.
However, they didn't offer the discount on ICICI credit card as mentioned in Zomato. Even the phone number is invalid. So, poor rating for Zomato!
I ordered chicken bharta from this restaurant it was damn delicious..worth having the food
I went here for lunch this afternoon after watching a movie. Its a small joint which accomodates around 20 people at a time. On entering i found the decor to be very good and there was slow romantic songs playing which created the perfect ambience.
Now coming to the food-
1)Smoked grilled chicken-Perfectly cooked.Just too delicious. Must try! 5/5
2)Butter Naan-5/5
3)Dal makhni! Another must try.Very well cooked with the right amount of spice and thickness. 5/5
4)Murgh Reshmi Butter Masala-4. 5/5
5)Kashmiri Pulao-4/5
6)Sweet lassi-This happened to disappoint me.3/5
7)Hot gulab jamun with icecream-But unlike the name, The gulab jamun wasn't hot.. And also they just served with one gulab jamun for the cost Rs140.. Which wasn't worth it.
The staff was courteous.
Overall a nice place to visit to have North Indian Cuisine.
Good ambinace with a variety of food. The service is not up to the mark. The food is awesome .
Decor is the main plus point . Its just a few minutes walk from desopriyo park
very nice place to hang out with friends and family.. nice music and very warming experience. staffs were helpful. food is good with private dinning
This is a tiny little space but has cosy ambience n is tastefully decorated. This is very close to Priya cinema.
We were two friends who landed there with our kids.
The first thing they did was they gave chocolates to the kids.
We ordered pretty safe dishes. Cream of Tomato soup, veg Sweetcorn soup, crispy chilly babycorn, veg fried rice, veg Manchurian, veg American chopsuey n chocolate icecream.
The soups were creamy n tasty. The sweet corn soup had fresh veggies, tomato soup had the right tangyness n had the right temperature.
Crispy chilly babycorn is crisp n right amount of spicy.
Veg fried rice had right flavour and veg had with veg Manchurian tasted good. The Manchurian was soft but didn't appeal to my palette. But kids liked it.
American chopsuey was served with the gravy and my my it was yum.
Chocolate icecream had a big scoup of icecream with chocolate syrup.
So overall it's a nice cosy place. Look friendly, Kids friendly, pocket friendly, palette friendly. I felt the Service was little slow hence 4*. Staff also is courteous.
Going down the lane near Deshapriya Park, Kolkata, I had discovered an awesome restaurant called 'LITTLE PUNJAB'. Though from the name it sounds little but it's truly a beautiful place from inside, it truly brings the feel of punjab from it's interiors and all the decorations and paintings that bring back the memories of green revolution in punjab. They specialize in north indian dishes and they serve one of the best kebabs in town. I had a CHELO KEBAB, their signature dish which was truly awesome. They have a wide range of veg and non-veg combos to choose from between 12:30pm to 5pm. As I had mentioned the ambience is great and a blend of desi Punjabi music that adds extra taste to their food. Their service is very prompt and they have a well behaved and helpful staff, and the owner is very humble and asks each and every customer for their feedback personally. Overall I give it 5 stars out of 5.

Situated near Priya cinema hall , with ambiance of pure Punjab , this restaurant surely gonna steal your heart with its mouth watering food , the best part of it is that it's very economical with good quantity of food ,. I enjoyed the little romantic music playing in the background also.
'Little Punjab', the name truly describes the restaurant in those two words, is truly a little punjab. Located at Deshapriya Park, Kolkata is the most pocket friendly and best north indian restaurant in town. Serving a wide variety of north indian foods from kebabs to biryanis and a wide range of attractive Veg and non veg combos. The mix of Punjabi song and desi decor with modern touch brings the feeling of punjab that adds extra taste to the food. I suggest you visit this WONDERFUL place for its north indian food. I give it 5 out of 5 rating.
As the name suggests it is truly a little punjab in the city of joy. A beautiful place to hangout and have authentic north indian food. They specialize in serving awesome kebabs and other north indian delicacies. The interiors and decor has a desi mix with modern touch. The ambience is made more punjabi with music they play and their interiors bring the memory of green revolution in punjab. I visited this place and had CHICKEN TIKKA KEBAB, which were just awesome and mouth watering, I also ordered CHELO KEBAB their signature dish, the best chelo kebab I have had after a very long time. The most amazing fact is that the place is also pocket friendly and their food quality is also the best in town. The owner is also friendly and the staffs are very helpful. Overall I give it 5 out 5 rating. And it is a must visit place for everyone who wants to have great north indian authentic food. They also have a wide range of combos that is available from 12:30PM to 5PM. Guys do visit this place.

Wanna feel a piece of Punjab in this large city Kolkata???
This restaurant has brought to you flavours of Punjab!!!
A small cozy restaurant located behind Desapriya Park, near Priya Cinema Hall. It can accommodate around 18 people at a time with simple well light interior.
An invitation through Panchphoron team has brought me here on a weekday evening for dinner.
The dishes we were served -
1. Paneer Tikka - Chunks of paneer marinated in spices & then grilled in a tandoor. It is seasoned with lemon juice & chaat masala and served with green mint chutney & salad. Tikka was soft and tasted good. The dish was garnished & looked pretty.
2. Murgh Malai Kebab - Boneless chicken pieces marinated with ginger garlic paste, freshly ground white pepper, cardamom, sour cream, grated mild cheddar cheese, sour cream & fresh coriander leaves. These marinated chicken pieces then arranged on skewers and grilled. It's served with sour cream on top & the plate is decorated beautifully. It was extremely appetising and a must try.
3. Chelow Kebab - The origin of this dish differs from other dishes. It's the national dish of Iran. Iran takes rice to a new height. For this dish the rice is parboiled & then fried in a pan covered with a cloth & steamed with butter and salt creating a crispy, golden crust on bottom. Rice was served with a no.of Iranian kebabs of chicken & mutton. A sunny side up poached egg is placed on the top of rice. The dish tasted amazing and eye-catching indeed.
4. Pindi Chole - It's a classic dish from Punjabi cuisine. It is different from the rest of the chole in this way that it is the combination of Kabuli chana & chana daal and the procedure of cooking both in water along with whole spices & tea leaves tied in a cloth bag. It greatly boosts the color & flavour of the dish. It tastes ambrosial & goes well with naan.
5. Bhuna Mutton - It's a popular and mouth watering Indian recipe. The mutton is cooked in its own juices till it gets a beautiful dark brown color. It is garnished with fresh cream on top. It is rich in flavour.
6. Chicken Tikka Masala - Chunks of boneless chicken marinated in spices and yoghurt and then baked in tandoor oven. These chicken pieces are then cooked in spice mixture, mainly tomato & coriander sauce. It tastes nice & served with fresh cream on top.
7. Dal Makhni - The primary ingredients for this dish are whole black lentils, red kidney beans, butter & cream. It tastes average.
8. Kashmiri Pulao - It is a sweeter one. Pulao is garnished with dry fruits & fresh fruits. Dry fruits provide warmth & the dish is ideal for the cold climate of Kashmir & winter season in Kolkata. It is appetising.
9. Garlic Naan - Crispy but soft fresh naan with garlic goes well with all the curries and tastes good.
Treat yourself with these and many more Punjabi Delicacies in this winter & celebrate the cold season!!!
I visited this place last week with my family .. Its simply awesome.. Best service given and the foods are delicious.. I will must visit next time..
Nicely located by the lane of Priya cinema. Very cozy and nice ambience. The food is amazing and tastes heavenly. Higly recommend this place if you are looking for real tasty delight. Must visit once and will leave with no regret. Best of luck to the team. In love with this place.
A Punjabi cuisine is associated with food from Punjab region of India. this cuisine has a rich tradition of many distinct and local ways of cooking. one of the special form of tandoori cooking that is now famous in other parts of India, Canada and many parts of the world. the distinctively Punjabi cuisine is known for it’s rich, buttery flavor along with the extensive vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. tandoori style cooking is traditionally associated with Punjab. “Little Punjab” which is a newly opened restaurant serves really flavorful and lip-smacking North Indian, Mughlai along with Chinese dishes. well decorated place, it has a capacity of around 25-27 seater at a time.
In the city of joy there are many places which mainly specialises in North Indian cuisine and because of that this kind of places fails to come in the limelight even though they serve quality food, and for that team Pachphoron came into the scene.
Tucked in the lane adjacent to Priya Cinema, it is located just beside matargashti. The interior had a minimalistic decor with some paintings in the wall, but i must say they have properly utilised the limited floor space efficiently.
Now, to get our hands running we settled for-
•Paneer Tikka: cubed paneer spiced up with tikka marination was a good way to start. Vegetarian spice lovers gonna have their tastebuds running. Even the plating was commendable.
•Murg Malai Kebab: the show stopper of the evening not only by its looks but also by its taste. 8 pieces of succulent chicken pieces topped with cheese melted in the mouth like butter. Highly recommended.
•Chelo Kebab: this could have been a meat lovers paradise but it didn't turn out that well. Chicken tikka, chicken reshmi, mutton galouti, mutton sheek kebab along with one fried egg & rice may seem enough to the eyes, but there are better options.
•Pindi Chole: again a vegetarian dish but to my surprise the spices were well balanced, a bit on the sweeter side.
•Dal Makhni: even though they specialises in this dish but i found it a lil spicy which many people may or maynot like, still had a creamy touch to it. Quantity was nice.
•Murg Tikka Masala: a perfectly cooked chicken gravy dish, will go nicely with both rice & bread. Chicken pieces were also of good size. Recommended.
•Bhuna Mutton: since I don't prefer mutton can't comment on the taste but looked delicious with big chunks of meat.
•Kashmiri Pulao: a sweet little pot of rice cutely garnished whose aroma was mouth watering. Tasted really well, a bit on the sweeter side, it also had small chunks of pineapples which added a punch to it. Recommended.
•Garlic Naan: this was the main accompaniment for most of the above dishes, its big size was sliced to pieces for convenience. The sesame seeds on the top added a nutty taste to it.
Overall, I must say they truly lifted up the taste of punjab to a great extent. Points deducted for ambience and floor space because now at this point there is a healthy competition for this.
One visit is must.
P.S.: Pocket pinch is moderate, you do not have to think twice before coming.
Small place yet the ambience is cosy and nice. During my last visit to my hometown i had gone here with friends. Authentic north indian cuisine is served. Staff is friendly. The dal makhni, malai kebab is to die for. Loved the food! Loved the place! Loved the reasonable prices! Overall had a satisfying experience...
A great place to hang out with family and friends! Lovely decor and soothing ambiance. The food adds to the happiness of visiting this place since the food is so Delicious, full marks for the food presentation too!
Little Punjab is a small place in despriya park. Perfect ambiance, good staff n quick service. Food was delicious and mouth watering. Prices are according to quantity n quality of food. Would definitely visit this place again.
It’s a blend of bengali touch in punjabi flavour.
Amazing food ! Ambience and atmosphere is quiet good. I personally like the theme of the restaurant.
Little Punjab the name says it all . From the authentic kitchen of Punjab to the land of innate foodies where people live to relish every ting of flavour in a dish served has justified its stand quite literally in a very short span of time . The grilled chicken and mutton kebabs are of my personal favourite whenever I walk into this little cozy place where they serve experience with everything served to perfection . The tenderness of the chicken and flavours of the spices are of perfect combination . Warm hospitality and courteous staff are something you register in your head the very first thing . For a price conscious city like kolkata it's one place which satisfy all from your taste buds to your health concerns to the pocket friendliness as every dish is priced moderately yet cooked to perfection using the least oil and loads of herbs and even the spices that they use to garnish or marinate feel like direct from home . You don't get the feeling that you overate and at the same time you crave for more . Not to mention even the lead time is considered okay between the time you order and the dishes get served . All and all it's a phenomenal experience !!
Awesome food, great ambiance and good service .................Among all Kebabs are delicious. One must visit this LITTLE PUNJAB...... in Kolkata.
Real value for money.
The authentic taste and crisp presentation makes the place a winner. Adding on the friendly service and the pleasant ambiance.
Slowly becoming one of my favorites.
Amazing food, an appropriate destination for food lovers, it is definitely a "must try" . The ambience of the restaurant is just perfect for enjoying a memorable moment and the delicious food served there just wins one's heart.
This place is just beside the priya cinema. Loved the food which taste just wow. Ambience and the service was really awesome. Recommend this place if you are in search for pure punjabi food. Thums up for the entire team. Yummy tummy!!
Food tastes so awesome.... Feel the taste of Punjabi foods...!! Delicious and finger licking!! 😍😍 The restaurant can be easily accessed and it's close to a cinema hall..... It's also a good hang out place.
If you go by the lane of priya cinemas, you will get this place easily.
This place is small and unique.. Ordered 7 tandoori roti, murg Kadai, murg tikka masala and chicken malai kebab.
Pocket pinch 1000
Life is where the food is. The kebabs are super tender and tasty. The taste buds really go balle balle as they say. Loved the ambience as well. Must try the lasooni kebabs.
Small cozy place with wonderful ambience, beautiful decor and very tasty food.Wide range of items in the menu and i must say the location is very much accesible. Will surely suggest my friends to visit little punjab once.
I always prefer to visit new places and this time heard about this Little Punjab many times and visited the place on 3/9. Small cozy restro with a sitting arrangement of nearly 30 people approx. Lovely decor and most important the taste of each dish was delicious. Highly recommended especially for puja days but the quantity of the foods keeping in view of the prices of the dishes are bit low.
But apart from all these pros and cons one should visit LP once definitely.
Smoked tangri is just awesome.
Authentic Punjabi cuisine where you can enrich your taste buds with delicious Punjabi dishes. Loved the food, cleanliness and ambience. A charming day with special one and with those lovely foods.
thank u :)
Loved the food, cleanliness, ambience and above all there is no single evidence of house flies so it deserves 5 or more without any hesitation.. Keep it up #LittlePunjab
Scrumptious food , presentation was great, the ambience is peaceful too . :D This place deserves more recognition . The service was a bit slow, but we can surely wait for fresh and delicious food, right?
I was looking for a place for my daughter's birthday and then found a newly opened restaurant through zomato. I called them and they immediately responded with the availability. I booked for 30 people and they arranged a wonderful buffet dinner with space for kids to enjoy. They also arranged a lovely table for cake which was really nice. The food was just perfect for the kids as well as the adults. Very friendly staff and must say a big Thank you for arranging a lovely party....
A sudden unplanned visit surprised me finding such a wonderful experience in little punjab.. The name itself defines authentic Punjabi cuisine where you can enrich your taste buds with delicious Punjabi dishes. A true taste of Punjab amid Kolkata.. Wao ambiance. Choosing little punjab to hangout will surely affirm your good choice of foodgasm..
Little Punjab is located immediately beside The Matargashti in the lane beside Priya Cinema Hall and Deshapriya Park popularly known as Motilal Nehru Road. It is a small, quaint place having accommodation of six tables consisting of four chairs each. The place has a nice decor and is perfect for a small family lunch or dinner. The interior decoration is very simple yet makes a good impression in your mind. The staff is helpful and helped us with the menu as well. We had Jeera Rice and Kashmiri Pulao along with Murg Kadai. The dishes were extremely well made and I absolutely loved it. The Kashmiri Pulao was a bit sweetish and was well complemented by the Murg Kadai which had a delicious gravy. The price is also quite modest. A little bit of soft music would have added a good ambience to the place and made it a much better atmosphere.
I visited the place thrice, their food is so amazing , the ambience , service are amazing as well.. I tried kebabs which were amazing in main course i had keema naan and mutton. All the dishes were perfect to me 😍
