This used to be a regular mostly for their bowls when I stayed in salt Lake. I used to gorge on kebabs from this place. their prices were seemingly good for the quantity thy used to provide. I remember having their Afghani chicken tika biryani. The biryani rice was sooo flavorful. It ahd such a nice aroma. Not too overpowering, not too light....plus the taste....they hit a different note. The chicken too was very succulent and soft. Try their kebab platter too. They have various kinds of kebabs for every ocassion. Can't wait to try them out once again!
We order butter chicken biryani and Afghani biryani.
Both the Biryanis are quite distinctly flavourful and yet very light on oil and spices. The portion sizes are less for adults. They serve with curd and raita masala whichh is a very nice add on.
Prices are normal. These are more of flavoured chicken rice bowls than biryanis. And they lack the classic Calcutta biryani Aloo sentiment.
I loved the food. Specially loved the platters in starter. Food was of good taste. I liked the ambiance and also the service. I'll visit again soon to have some new dishes.
We had Afghani chicken biryani and Chicken tikka biryani. Both were very nicely prepared. The best part of ordering biryani here is they provide a cup of curd and a raita masala, so that you can have the raita according to your own taste. Combined with Zomato Gold, this is a highly recommended place for biryani lovers.
Attended a screening at Bike Studio adjacent to this restaurant and enjoyed the Hyderabadi Biriyani thoroughly in the dinner. This place stays open until 2 a.m. and despite being tiny, it's well-maintained, organized and attractive. Indeed surprised me while enjoying the game.
Cute little place, loved the tandoori loaded fries, khawa chai, and veg galouti pav wow.
we loaded the loaded fries tandoori. the coolberg non alcoholic beer was good. biryani and rolls veg options are good.
Few days back I visited this place with my friends. This is nice cozy place with beautiful ambiance.
I tried fries , burger,roll and biriyani
Among all roll was awesome.
You need to try that.
Charcoal eats located in sector 1 , salt lake servers delicious north Indian food along with quick bites like fries and pav bhaji . Charcoal eats is basically a delivery joint cum small cafe type restaurant, has 3 outlets in Kolkata for now.
I had recently been in their Salt Lake outlet, which is located near Karunamoyee bus stand or more specifically near Sech Bhawan,Salt Lake Sector 1.
They have good friendly environment there and service was good.
In rice bowls,I had tried-
Afghani Chicken Biryani,
Chole Rice Bowl,
Chicken Tikka Masala Rice Bowl,
Kaccha aam sharbat,
Loaded fries- chilli garlic,BBQ.
First thing I want to say about the biryanis and rice bowls is that the quality of rice was really amazing, they were thin, well cooked, not sticky and well flavoured.
Secondly, portions of bowls, one swerving is enough for a person.
Then neither of these biryanis or rice bowls were too spicy or oily, they tasted mainly in sweet range.
Chicken pieces were good in biryanis or chicken tikka masala rice bowl.
And lastly Biryanis were served with fresh curd and raita masala.
Kaccha aam was very much refreshing and from a good brand.
Loaded fries were good, one plates can be shared by two. Fries were crunchy and crispy and with lots of mayonnaise on it.
I had also tried malai rabdi there,it was fresh.
Yesterday i visited charcoaleats and tried Tandoori fries, BBQ fries, Chilli Garlic fries, Kaccha aam drink, veg pav, Classic Veg Biryani, Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani, Afghani Chicken Biryani, Chole Rice Bowl, Chicken Tikka Masala Rice Bowl, rabri and chocolate mousse. Every dish is crafted with perfection. I especially liked the veg biriyani, which was absolutely delicious. The 'classic veg biryani' is a perfectly incorporated with a curry based veggie layer and fried onions. I would recommend you to visit the nearest outlet of charcoaleats to savour on this amazing biriyani. Apart from that, the chocolate mousse was a hit for dessert and fries are a must try if you visit this place.
This is a small little restaurant located near Swimming Pool, BF block, Sector 1.
The restaurant is attached with a bicycle showroom as well which makes it look very fancy. Charcoal Eats serves you Indian food with modern Indian flavours and within a reasonable price.
Recently I had the chance to visit this outlet of Charcoal Eats and few of the items I tried out were loaded fries which included flavours of (BBQ,Tandoori,Chilli Garlic), Chicken seekh kebab roll. They had great options of biryani too, so I tried out their Classic Veg Biryani, Afghani Chicken Biryani & Hyderabadi biryani which tasted really good. If you're planning to visit them then you should definitely try out their Rice Bowls(This is the best among all). I tried the Chole rice bowl & Chicken tikka masala rice bowl and it tastes so good and had great aroma of spices. And how can a meal end without a dessert & drink. I ordered for chocolate mousse, malai rabdi along with some refreshing coolberg & kaccha aam drinks.
Yesterday I visited this restaurant with my friends. It is located in sector 1 (5min walking distance from Sech bhawan). The place is small but nicely decorated. We tried 3 types of fries, veg galouti kebab pav,veg classic biryani, afghani chicken biryani, hyderabadi chicken biryani, chicken tikka rice bowl, chole rice bowl, chocolate mousse shot and malai rabri. Among those, my personal favourite item was afgani chicken biryani and chocolate mousse shot. The biryani was not authentic but very light and less oily. We also tried their non alcoholic coolberg beer and the original raw mango. I personally liked their malt beer and raw mango.
Charcoal Eats is a small cozy place located in Saltlake.
They have two more branches one in Kalighat and one in Tollygunj Which are for take away and delivery only.
They Serve a Variety of Snacks and Indian Foods.
The Best thing here was their Rice bowls. They have different options for it ( Veg and Non- Veg). The quantity is enough for two Light eaters and is definetly Worth a try.
The rolls though priced on a higher side were good enough to Satisfy our Cravings
The Biryani here is not an authentic Kolkata biryani but Tasted really good. It was less oily and very light. The quantity was a bit less. The have different Flavours of biryani both Veg and non - Veg.
Overall I had a nice experience here. You can visit this place or order online.
I loved the Hyderabadi briyani they have presentated the south taste blended with perfect proportion of spicy masalas and also it arrived with good tight package .I love to tell the management I loved it Soo much and I prefer them to introduce more and more south Indian rice variety
The place is small and yet serves one of the best quality flavoured rice. The biryani is not an authentic style Kolkata Biryani. But their Biryani is light, easily digestible and yet very tasty. Afghani Chicken Biryani and Butter Chicken biryani are one of the good biryanis served here. Will definitely try out the other biryanis. A must visit for the rice eaters and Biryani lovers who want to explore fresh tastes of biryani.
gaulati paw was great . right blend of spices adequate onions n fresh bread.
Very nice peaceful place. Great menu for beverage as well as food.
Will surely visit whenever possible.
Awesome Kabab Rolls 👌 Mumbai bade maiya ki yad aa gaie.
I loved the idea of charcoal and bike studio
The food was also very good
Charcoal eats as the name suggests serves you authentic and tasty Biryani at reasonable prices. It is located near Salt Lake. They cook Biryani on charcoals which makes it smells good and also in taste. The staff was polite and friendly. The service was quick and food was served hot
We ordered
Veg platter
Paneer Makhani Biryani
Butter chicken biryani
Coolberg malt beer
Kashmiri kahwa
Good food at reasonable rate. Awesome people.
I ordered paneer tikka roll. The presentation was mouthwatering. Loved the meal and ambiance . The staff was polite and patient. The place is economical. Highly recommended place to spent time with family and hangout with friends.
The Butter Chicken and Partha is a must try. Simply loved the taste of Butter chicken and the stuff were very courteous! Would love to visit again! Thanks 😊
One of the best places in Kolkata to serve a different cuisine of Biryani. A lot of varieties to choose from. Even the light eater is sufficient for fulfilling your craves.
Rolls are Amaaziingg!! It feels like platter with all the Chunks of chicken pieces and their gravies.
Staffs were promt and courteous and the outlet felt like nice & cosy place.
Will definitely come back for more from their menu.
Staffs where the best over there, overwhelmed!
Chicken Seeing roll and Coolberg Beer Malt was very good. The Roll was very filling and tasted delicious. Coolberg Malt Beer is non alcoholic drink which tastes like actual beer. The place is small and cosy.
Had classic Chicken Tikka, and canberry beer.
Chicken Tikka was juicy, tender and flavorful. The smoky effect of Tikka and chilled canberry beer was the perfect answer for my evening craving.
Price is high but Taste is awesome 👌 but disappointed with meat quantity. Kindly take necessary action on it so you won't miss valuable and regular customers like me 😊 .
Lovely place to be at late night hangout. This place is open after midnight. I visited around 2 am. More of like a biking club and cafe. But you can get all variety of snacks and homely Indian foods, etc.Lovely delicious food. Everyday some or the other offer is there. Loved their special ways and dishes..
I would say.. The best rice bowl I had in a long time.. Though I ordered online the food was delivered in time. The chicken tikka with rice bowl combo is what I thought of trying out and yes.. It was amazingly spicy and tasty with the proper combination of both.. Something which is a key factor for me since I dont prefer too much spicy.. 5 🌟 from my side..
A small food outlet located in Sec 1 just beside a bicycle showroom, this is the oldest outlet of Charcoal Eats in Kolkata. I've heard lot of good things about them, so finally gave them a try.
Starters
-----------------
Tandoori Loaded Fries @ Rs.79 (4/5) :
------------------------------------------------------------------
Something newer than the old boring french fries. They used a special kind of sauce and North Indian Tandoori spices on top of the fries that made it way more spicier than traditional french fries.
Chicken Seekh Kebab Roll @ Rs.149 (5/5) :
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
2 chicken seekh kebabs that we find in Chelo Kebabs with lots of mayonnaise and cheese, all wrapped in a baked paratha, this item was just fabulous. A must try if you're bored with plain Kolkata Roll.
Chicken Tikka Masala Roll @ Rs.199 (3/5) :
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
They suggested Chicken Tikka Masala Roll but this didn't even came close to the Seekh Kebab Roll that we tried before. It was more spicer any dry to my liking.
Mains
---------------
Butter Chicken @ Rs.299 (4/5) :
--------------------------------------------------------
For the first time I was seeing Butter Chicken serving in a styrofoam cup. The cup was big and it was half filled. The gravy was smooth and creamy garnished with coriander leaves on top. Chicken pieces were very small but well cooked. We took their Baked Paratha with it and that felt bit dry.
Butter Chicken Biryani @ Rs.239 (3/5) :
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Firstly I thought butter is an ingredient of Biryani then whats special in Butter Chicken Biryani? Is it with more butter? But it came out simply as Biryani rice mixed with Butter Chicken gravy and 2 small chicken pieces in it.
Obviously it wasn't cooked in traditional way rather a shortcut way was chosen to create different variants of Biryani. But to my surprise this Biryani tasted quite good. Biryani rice was flavourful and butter chicken mixed with it was creamy.
Awadhi Mutton Biryani @ Rs.289 (3.5/5) :
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just like the Butter Chicken Biryani it was also made same way by putting Mutton Kasha in Biryani rice. But this one tasted much spicier and overall better than the Chicken Biryani. However mutton pieces were very less.
One thing to mention, the on the go container they served the Biryani was garnished really well and sachet raita masala and curd was also given.
Conclusion :
---------------------------
Biryani here is something you might not like if you're into traditional Biryani. Their Tandoori Loaded Fries and Chicken Seekh Kebab Roll is a must try. But I think this place is bit pricy for what they serve.
I am always in love with this place because they serve tastiest food in the era.
Having a huge range of outlets in entire India, this place is kinda heaven in itself.
Going through the menu i realised that there prices are affordable too and when i have the dish what i ordered is beyond my expectations.
The quantity and tatse is beyond explanation. ❤
I Definitely visit this place whenever i crave in hunger 😍
So as you need to try this out!!!
This is a perfect place for foodies... undoubtedly it has best rolls and kababs in Kolkata... Went there many times and tried all types of biriyanis...all are awesome...this is one of my favorite food joint in Kolkata...all should have try at least once here...I can assure you will not be disappointed.
Amazing food and drink, nice place& staff is very amicable and adept! Frankly, I love this place and the pricing is very pocket-friendly!!!!
Small little place near Swimming pool in BF block. We tried the Tandoori Loaded Fries, Chicken Seekh Pav Wow and Chicken Tikka Roll. All dishes were very tasty. The staff was polite and friendly. The service was fast too.
Tried out this outlet after a much hype in social media and from people around. Ordered for an Afghani chicken biriyani and Awadhi chicken biriyani. The Awadhi biriyani tasted quite good, it was more of a biriyani with gravy and it wasn't too spicy either. The piece of chicken was a boneless one more like a tikka kebab. Afghani Biriyani was more kind of flavoured white rice with a piece of chicken. Both the biriyanis were served with a bowl of curd.
Above all the quantity of both the biriyanis were very less compared to the prices charged for each. However, their tamper proof packing was something to cheer about.
Accidentally spotted the place while chilling around the area, decided it to give it a try. The kebabs and biryani were top notch but a wee bit oily and portions were really less. Overall a good experience.
This restaurant provide many items and variety of food.from the given menu I ordered chicken biryani which looked good by its appearance but the tasty was average but not bad.
A small food joint near saltlake swimming pool is definitely going to make a mark.
Thei rolls are heavy and filled with mayo.
The chessy burger will make even the non vegetarians appreciate it.
Finally the biriyani was somewhat decent.
The fries too were filled with a variety of sauces.
Overall a good experience.
Few items although I felt were a bit pricy but nonetheless definitely worth a try.
This is a newly opened restaurant in Sector I, Saltlake and I would say it's quite underrated.
We have ordered: Barbeque Fries: 5/5
Masala Chai 5/5
Chicken Galouti Kebab was also quite good though it can be more better.
If you go there don't forget to try their Masala Chai & Barbeque Fries, Biryani is of avg quality so I would not recommend you to try that.
Rest all good, staffs are excellent & theme is also great if you love cycling, you can check out cycles also.
Best Veg Biryani i have ever found in kolkata 😄
It is very good place to hang out wih friends and family too....Food are really great and pocket friendly.....staffs are really courtseous and

Love to visit this place. Super tasty food with super friendly staff!!! The pricing is perfect.. actually pretty much affordable for the taste.
Get some company and visit in the evening for good chill vibes
Went to this place with friends. This place is tiny. They have only three tables and a long bench where 6-7 people can have a seat. Well undoubtedly the food is good over their. They are making it freshly.i love the fries over their. Staffs are kind towards customers.
Dishes which I have taken :
salted caramel mousse,
Strawberry souffle,

awadhi chicken biriyani,
Loaded fries,
hara bhara pav,
butter chicken rice bowl.
Overall this place is really good and I enjoyed the food.
I ordered afhgani chicken tikka biryani, it was awesome. I liked it so much. If, you are looking for authentic biryani then please, go for it. You will never regret. Chicken was cooked so well. The biryani was full of masala with good quantity of chicken, garnished with fried onion.
Be a foodie:)
While scrolling through a food delivery app I came across this restaurant. This restaurant offers a good & tasty variety of fast food along different types of biryani (veg & non-veg) and staple food like rajma chawal, butter chicken & chawal bowl, etc.
I was in the mood to have some different type of biryani & not the type we get in Kolkata. So this is a disclaimer for all you foodies that if have a mind for typical Kolkata type biryani then this place’s biryanis might not impress u.
So i had order butter chicken biryani (heavy eater) it is sufficient for 2 people, chicken moghlai paratha and strawberry soufflé.
The biryani had less rice & more of gravy which I didn’t like, there should be a balance of both. Else taste wise I really liked it. Quantity of chicken was also good and the best part was it was boneless.
The paratha was crunchy & tasty and the soufflé was very lightly sweetened and creamy with a fresh taste.
This is a new restaurant which is best for Biriyani lovers like me in Salt Lake. The ambience is good but not spacious for large groups.Their service is good.We had classic Hyderabadi Biryani combos Which is best for 6 people at low prices.
Stopped by this place because it looked chic.
It's shares it's space with a bike store. Pretty chic.
Ordered Chicken Tikka Kebabs, delicious and soft and perfectly tasty. Big pieces of chicken.
Lemon Grass Chai which was soothing and good.
The best were the fries. Non greasy.
Overall it's good price and good portion size and good environment.
Would recommend if you wanted a place to have some non vegetarian snacks in swimming area.
This place is really very good. The ambience is nice. There's a cycle showroom attached to it too. The staffs are good, they follow a self service system tho. We had tried the different biryanis, souffle, and much more. I would recommend this place.
A small cozy place to chill with your friends and taste some really good food. I love their loaded fries and chicken seekh kebab is a must try. Awadhi Chicken biriyani was not that great. Hara bhara pav was tasty. Butter chicken rice bowl was delicious. Overall a nice place and a must visit.
Charcoal eats located at sector 1 is a small outlet which has a seating area of 10-15 people but undoubtedly serves really amazing dishes. Whats Amazing?? Their prices are quite cheap and they basically serves mughlai cuisines.
We had:

In room temperature its started Melting within a minute.
Overall it was a very nice experience. A very good place to visit with Friends and family
Charcoal eats has recently opened their first outlet in Kolkata after serving other metros.Located in sector 1 near C.A.P camp this is small 12 seating joint serving fast food and North indian food. They have a self service system serving in eco friendly packaging which is a big plus point. The service was good and their prices will not burn hole in your pocket if you are around do try it.
Tried out barbeque chilly garlic and shezwan fries and the barbecue one is a must try,Veg and chicken galoiti kababs,Chicken tikka and finally Seekh kababs as starters.
The veg kabab was good.
From the biriyani section trird Awadhi,Butter chicken afghani and paneer makhani biryani.
Their biriyanis are not the usual one and includes layering of rice and the key ingredient.Lastly all the three desserts namely Chocolate mousse.,strawberry souffle.salted caramel mousse were good.
Really liked the salted mousse and is a must try.
Location: While walking down in the streets of Salt Lake sector 1 with my friends, we discovered this restaurant. We just thought of giving it a try as the ambience looks quite promising. This place is exactly near the island right next to Baishakhi Bus Stand and falls in the bus and auto route between Ultadanga and Karunamayee.
Ambience: One thing I must appreciate is the staff service and behaviour. I really received a very warm hospitality over here. The seating arrangements are quite comfortable, making this place a perfect spot for a get together with your family and friends. Furthermore, they have a bicycle studio right next to the restaurant.
Food Review:
1. Hara Bhara Kebab Pav
The pav bread was extremely fresh and soft, stuffed with a patty made with green vegetables accompanied by spicy harissa sauce, onions, garlic mayonnaise and chat masala.
2. Chicken Seekh Kebab Pav
Same as the previous one but stuffed with pieces of tasty chicken kebab instead.
3. Classic Chicken Tikka Roll
The roll was wrapped in Malabari Paratha and the stuffing was done with chicken Tikka pieces along with spicy harissa sauce accompanied by onions, garlic mayonnaise and chat masala making the roll extremely delicious.
4. Tandoori Loaded Fries
The fries were perfectly fried, tasted totally crispy. The topping was done with spicy sauce and garlic mayonnaise. Furthermore, tandoori spice was added to make the dish special.
5. Chicken Mughlai Paratha
It was a chatpata chicken mince tenderly cooked in a blend of spices and thereafter wrapped in an egg roti and cooked till crisp. The best part was that it wasn’t oily at all. Highly recommended.
6. Classic Chicken Tikka Starter
The taste of the chicken tikka was extremely satisfying and pieces were perfectly cooked. The chicken can literally melt inside your mouth and the flavour was delicious.
7. Signature Chicken Seekh kebab Starter
Another best thing I had for starter and was totally satisfied with. Yes, the seekh kebab will definitely satisfy your taste buds as they made it perfectly perfect.
8. Butter Chicken Rice Bowl
Indeed the rice bowl was soul satisfying as mentioned in the menu. The curry was extremely delicious where as the rice paired with fragrant desi ghee made it mouthwatering.
9. Awadhi Chicken Biriyani
The chicken Biriyani was totally awesome. Served with masala raita, the Biriyani was cooked in authentic Lucknow style along with smoked chicken pieces cooked with traditional Biriyani spices.
10. Strawberry Soufflé
The souffle is one of the best Soufflés I had till now. It had pieces of strawberries in it and this extremely delicious piece of desert item is the best thing you can avail from this restaurant.
11. Salted Caramel Mousse
Though I was in love with the Strawberry souffle but this Mousse was also worth mentioning. The caramel taste was totally satisfying and the salty taste was an add-on.
*The best part I came to know is that they have daily offers in which everyday one random dish is made available to all the customers at just rupees 99.
Recommendation:
1. Tandoori Loaded Fries
2. Classic Chicken Tikka Roll
3. Chicken Paratha
4. Butter Chicken Rice Bowl
5. Strawberry Soufflé
Charcoal Eats is a QSR, from Mumbai. They recently opened their first outlet in Kolkata.
1. Food- Each and every food item we ordered, had some uniqueness in them, they were both good in quality as well as quantity. We ordered Chicken Galouti Kebab Pav, their Signature Chicken Seekh Kebab rolls and Chicken Tikka rolls, Schezwan loaded fries, in starters, then in main course we ordered Classic Hyderabadi Biriyani and Butter Chicken Biriyani, and in dessert Salted Caramel Mousse and Strawberry Souffle. Their specialty is their rolls and pav, one should taste these if he/she is visiting this place. The stuffing in the rolls was delicious. The biryani was different from the biryani we always have, but it was good too. The salted caramel mousse and strawberry souffle are must try too, I've had these types of dessert for the first time.
Rating: 5/5
2. Ambiance- Being a QSR, it has a small space, but the ambiance is comfortable and calm.
Rating: 4/5
3. Service- The service was appreciable, everyone were so helpful. All of them were very polite and helpful. Dipika was a sweetheart who took great care of us.
Rating: 5/5
This PAN India joint is finally opened in the city of joy. Its located in saltlake sector 1 BF block, just in main road. The best part is they have their own play store app from where you can place an order or simply order via zomato, swiggy or ubereats and they will deliver your box full of happiness right at your door steps. Though the menu is limited now but they will be adding more items in coming days. This place has got a quirky ambience with good collections of music and food posters.

2. Classic Peach Iced Tea : This is regular flavored ice tea.
3. Chilli Garlic Loaded Fries💯💯
4. Chicken seekh kebab pav : Mumbai pav with two pieces of seekh kebab in between filled with two types of mayo.
5. Chicken Galouti Kebab : Galouti Kebabs need not need any introduction though. Finely minced chicken fried to perfection.

7. Salted Caramel Mousse 💯
.
Items marked with 💯 are recommended by us.

The name of the outlet easily signifies that in their food we will get the flavour of Charcoal. I tried their different types of kebabs,Biriyani as well as fries they all tasted good. I like the texture and flavour of all items and most importantly the prices are quite reasonable.
A really small and cute cafe in Salt Lake sector one near CAP Camp. The desserts and fries are a must try. The goulati kebab is amazing.
