This place sits near the Poddar Court and on the busiest of days you will have to wait a while for their food because it's that amazing. Under any circumstances do not miss their Gulab Jamun, Chole Bhature and their Milkshakes... Good food at pocket friendly price...beats almost anything anyday😋
ordered a club sandwich n upma from this place. it was amazing. i never liked upma but after having upma from this place it made me love upma. the sandwich was heavy we had ordered gravy ones too so not complaining nd amazing

Everything about this place is good except that there s no sitting arrangement.. But if that's not an issue for u then their samosa.. Sandwich and chola bhatura are to die for.. Also their idli pulao is melt in mouth types.. 🙂
Rabindra Jalpan is located in the Rabindra Sarani close to Poddar Court. The place is hub for breakfast and South Indian dishes. I visited here to have their Dahi Kachuri with my friend and it was excellent in taste.
Service is good and fast.
Prices are less and reasonable.
I visited here in the evening today. Most of their item were out of stock. I decided to try their Dahi Kalochuri. The place doesn't have a seating arrangement. There are table beside which you can stand and keep your food and eat. Ambiance is nothing more then a street side restaurant. The Dahi Kachuri we had was completely amazing in taste and also in their presentation.
I would surely visit this place again to try their other dishes.
A good place to visit in canning Street poddar court area, ambience is not that good as it is a roadside shop but the quality of food is very good ,i am a frequent visitor to this store , my favourite in the menu is veg cheese grilled sandwich and chole bhatura .
Tea is very famous of this store , everything else can also be tried as the quality is good ,
Rabindra jalpan is a small outlet just opposite to my office at poddar court. It is very popular in offices around this area. People prefer take away as the place is very small. Though there are 4 tables where we can stand and eat.
Service here is excellent. They serve food hot and the service is very prompt. They are very generous is giving extra servings of chutneys and sambhars.
All food here are good and hygenic. They serve varieties of south indian food, sandwiches, snacks , tea, coffee , lassi etc. I have tried most of the items in the menu and all are good.
Today I tried sambhar Wada and coffee. Both the items were excellent. I think they serve one of the best coffee among local outlets. For sambhar Wada they were generous to offer extra servings of chutneys & sambhar.
Overall a must try place. Though presentation can be improved specially these days they serve food in thermacol plate. I also feel the items are a bit overpriced.
Good Value for money.Great Tea and Chhole Bature.NIce milk shakes and sandwiches.Yo can eat here everyday without falling sick as the hygiene levels and quality of ingredient is very good.
Channa batura is awesome good for take away also...they serve sandwiches also and south indian also, masala dhosa tastes a little different not like a typical South Indian dhosa rather a twist of south nd west begal i say...

My favourite lunch place... Rabindra jalpan is my go to place whenever I don't have my lunch with me in office... The chola bhatura, the Bombay masala club sandwich, the uttapam, the coffee... Its a never ending liat of my favorites... The place is always packed during lunch hours... Even take away takes some time... But the food is amazing... The new additions are also very tempting... If any time in this area you should definitely try this place out... Worth every penny...

Rabindra Jalpan is a decade old small eatery located near lalbazar just opposite poddar court catering to the offices located in the area. It started with some south indian fooding options and tea/ coffee alongside but now it has ventured into a number of options and i take pride in the fact that my dad is the one who pushed the owner to start a toast and sandwiches counter.
Its very small, compact and congested place to eat with no seats but tables for one to eat while standing. The service is very fast if you could get a place to eat. But we use the outlet for takeaway for our office purposes.
There are a lot of options to eat and i think the quality of everything is very good for its price. The food is always hot, fresh and very hygenic. Tea made by them sells like frenzy and is amazing. Grilled sandwiches, veg pulao and raita are very good. The south indian food is nice especially the curd idly and uttapam. I am not a chaat person but my family loves the chola bhatura they make.
A very good place for takeaway with great quality food at pretty reasonable prices. The eating arrangement at the place and the food presentation needs improvement.

Been there almost on daily basis. It only serves veg items. Price is on the higher side as compared to the road side stalls but quality and quantity is better. South indian dishes, sandwich, chole bhature, samosa-kachori, gulabjamun, shakes, chaas-lassi etc. are available. Sitting arrangement is not available. If you are around chitpur area and searching for quick food, this is the place. Recommended..
