Cozy and quaint place - Perfect for a Date!
Being an advent reader, the elements of Harry Potter in the cafe really won my heart! I had the Mezze Platter and Tacos which are really great! Add the cherry on top, the cafe follows all the necessary precautions. Stay Safe!

Really loved this place! Love the casual yet cool ambience. Staff is helpful too. Food is a little expensive but worth the money. Great for hanging out with friends. One particular experience that I had was that the food was a little late but the staff repeatedly apologized for it and also gave us a complimentary cake, which was really tasty. Love how they took care of the situation.

I visited this place with my soulmate. And we are so glad to check this off our bucket list.
If you come here, try the Chipotle Mexican Tacos, The fresh brownies and the Mocha Crumble with a dash of sprinkles and crushed oreos.
We have literally fallen in love with this place.
And if you are a Potterhead, a sherlock fan or a GOT fan, they have it all!

Visiting this place is holy. I feel at peace and happiness rushing into me from head to toe 🌸✨

I have been to potboiler for two times in the last one month and I must say they are taking upmost care when it comes to hygiene and social distancing! Wearing masks while placing orders is mandatory and they are sanitizing the tables and chairs as frequently as possible! The ambience is quite soothing with lots of books and board games. They too have an outdoor seating section. Coming to the food, I have tried their
Shirred eggs with chicken which is really good and recommended(5/5)
Pesto grilled chicken sandwich with Mozzarella (4/5)
Bacon
Oreo shake(4/5)
Hot chocolate(3/5) did not really liked the hot chocolate.
Lemon iced tea(4/5)
And also tried one of their signature drinks which they recommended. Mocha Crumble with crushed oreos- It was good. (5/5)
The prices of the beverages are on the higher side according to me otherwise it is a perfect place for hanging out!

We had gone after lockdown. The place has really good vibes and is well decorated. It's good to sit and work also. We had 3 items and it was delicious. Do not regret ordering any dish. Do eat the classic pancake, they will give you a butter chilli sauce and maple syrup which was out of the world. The mushroom toast is one more you could try. It's really yummy too. Staff is courteous and maintains 6 feet distance between tables, has masks and keeps sanitizer everywhere. Must visit. Great to be back to a cafe, especially this after lockdown 🤩

Great place to enjoy hot steaming cup of coffee with beautiful green views right outside the window. On the food front, I really liked their desi bowl comprising of Indori poha but the avocado on toast didn't really delight me much.
The mango pancake was good, would have been better if they served maple syrup or ice cream with it as well.
The service is very good, the ambience is perfect , they can work a bit on food quantity.

An quintessential place for breakfast. Or just to enjoy a hot cup of coffee with a book. Cafe like this have my heart where you can enjoy some healthy food and also laze around. Catch point would be it's nerdy decor..well thought menu and simple games u can play on your table.

Personal favourite- Avacado tartine
Deep fried Oreos were overrated! 👎

A new age cafe with bookish or bookworm theme. This is a part self-service cafe. I liked a few ideas like donating a book, date with a book etc. They have a little outdoor seating and smoking area. The bookshelves were filled with great collection of novels and story books.

The Coffee was amazing, the pasta was really great. They have used some really 'punny' names on the beverage menu. I would love to visit again.

A place to die for all the bookworms and avid readers out there in the city of joy, Kolkata. Potboiler Cafe, as creative its name is, so creative is the cafe itself. I extremely loved the vibe this place holds. People can sit and work peacefully here. Also coming to the main aspect, the food is awesome too!
Just that this place is a little bit on the expensive side.
We had the following items:

1. Hot Chocolate: As it is winter season, this drink will be the constant over each cafeteria. This place's hot chocolate was one of the best I have tasted yet.
2. Chipotle Mexican Soft Shell Tacos: This was a bit disappointing. It was not in expectation with the price as it was much less in quantity. Plus it wasn't that good in taste.
3. Chocolate and Orange Marmalade Pancakes: This was just WOW! Best combination of pancakes I have ever had. The pancakes were so fluffy that after putting a small bite into my mouth I could feel the explosion of taste in my mouth. But this is only available in their winter menu, go before the season takes off!

Very excited to visit this place again!!

Heard quite a bit about this place for a long time, so finally came here for a streak of visits through the last week.

Speaking of Ambience, the place is absolutely gorgeous ! Filled in w/ a vibrant atmosphere, this place is a beautiful culmination of elegance of simplicity. Their outdoor section especially adds a lot to the charm of this place through it's lush green decor. Service too, is pretty good & timely.

Coming to Food, I had a bit of both of ups & downs even though most were ups. What I feel is a little off here is the consistency, but apart from that most, things are actually pretty good !
Recommendations are their Make Your Stir Fry - Chicken + Mushrooms + Bell Peppers + Baby Corn, Aglio Olio Spaghetti, Classic Pancake, Blueberry Cheesecake, Latte & Oolong Rose Goodbye Tea.

What I've had :-

FOOD :
1. Aglio Olio Spaghetti - must try
2. Pesto Grilled Chicken Sandwich - it was lovely
3. Make Your Stir Fry - Chicken + Mushroom + Bell Peppers + Baby Corn - absolute must try

DRINKS & DESSERTS :
1. Latte - good, must try
2. Mocha - felt too ordinary
3. Oolong Rose Goodbye Tea - must try
4. Chemex of Monte Cristo - must try

5. Classic Pancakes - tastes delicious but feels meagre
6. Oreo Crunch Ice Cream - must try
7. Blueberry Cheesecake - must try

Overall, I'd say the place is pretty good for a quiet, relaxing meal. Yes, it's inconsistent but for the most part, it performs pretty good. Recommended from my end.

Kolkata is developing daily with lot of new cafes coming up where we can visit and spend time with our friends and loved ones. Such a place is Potboilers Cafe, one of the lovely cafes in the City of Joy where every Foodie and book lovers should Visit. ❤ It is a new addition to the long list of cafes that have opened in Kolkata recently in last few months.

If you are a Coffee and a book lover...then u surely need to visit this cafe at least once this winter. Went to this cafe last week to try out their New Menu for Winters! It is a wonderful cafe to indulge in lively adda with friends and binge on some amazing food and coffee 💕 If you want to read books, work on files or laptop or just spend time with your loved ones this is precisely the perfect place for coffee dates ❣️ Heard loads of buzz about this place and yes, the place does live up to the hype. So finally get to visit this place❤️

📍 Location: This newly cafe is located at 10 minute's walking distance from Lake Mall near Triangular Park. It is exactly located on the 2nd floor of Simaaya Saree Shop.

▶Ambience/Décor/Service: The ambience of the place is just amazing. This book themed Cafe is a perfect place to chill in. And if you are a book lover then I assure you that will really enjoy a good time here. The interior of the cafe is really well decorated, and it is a book themed décor with unique wall art and comfortable sitting area. The seating area of the cafe is divided 3 sections. Two of the sections are in the indoors & one is on the outdoor. The outdoor seating area is amazing as it has the smoking area as well. The service of the place is prompt and amazing to satisfy both the tummy and the heart.

▶ The Cafe has an amazing menu to look forward to with a whole new range of tasty dishes & signature coffees for you to enjoy with friends & family during your visit. The special winter menu has almost every element covered for you! On my recent visit, I tried the following amazing items from the Winter menu ❤️

📍Coffee

⚜️ Invitation to a Bonfire- This drink is basically a White Chocolate Mocha that is topped with a Marshmallow. They light up the marshmallow in front of you after they serve you the drink. One of the recommended items to try from this place from the Winter Menu.

⚜️ A Drink Called Christmas- The drink is a hot chocolate with the peppermint flavour infused in it. I really loved the drink.

⚜️ Kashmiri Kahwa- This drink is a speciality from the land of Kashmir. It is a perfect drink to try in the chilled cold weather to keep your body warm.

💰Pocket pinch: - Pinch for two is ₹ 600- ₹ 800. Prices of the items are reasonable keeping in mind crowd of all ages, more so if one can avail a Dine out discount of 50% on the food bill amount, it would great thing to add on.

▶Overall: - Overall, I'm really very impressed with the place. With a good book and a hot cup of coffee with your partner or friends over some good laughs and chit-chats. This cafe surely grabs my recommendation ❣️ Going back to this amazing cafe very soon. To try out the food items 😍 Do pay a visit to this place, you won't regret 💕 A must visit for all. 👍🏻

Yet another aesthetic cafe ticked off my bucket list. Started off 2020 with this one, and I must say I wasn't disappointed. This place will cater to your green needs, and the soft cozy corner will let you relax amidst the hustle bustle of the city. Staff is too polite and food is customizable. Price wise this is quite an affordable place. Food quality and quantity both were much satisfactory to me. I'd highly recommend you to spend sometime in here and you'll fall in love with all the serenity!

O'Corn Review:
✔️The Invitation to a Bonfire is our favourite drink, we fell in love with this one. It's a white chocolate mocha with a marshmallow which they smoked with a blow torch in front of us thus giving a campfire like essence to it, which in turn created a crispy exterior and a gooey interior. It was like a romantic slow dance for our taste buds. (Winter Menu)
✔️The Scarlet Bean consists of a shot of espresso topped with cranberry juice and ice. It has a rich coffee taste to it, though those who prefer there drinks a little sweet this drink might be a little strong and bitter for them.
✔️A Drink Called Christmas is a hot chocolate with hints of peppermint flavour in it, both the taste and the art on it was very smooth. (Winter Menu)
✔️The only thing we thought was not upto our expectations was the Pesto Spaghetti, it could have been a little bit better. Otherwise, it was just okay. (Winter Menu)
✔️The ambience here is beautiful, calm and peaceful. They have books for reading and games too. Both indoor and open air sitting arrangements are available. The staffs are also hospitable.

Spent the Christmas eve in this place. Immediately fell in love with everything. The ambience is beautiful. There are a variety of food options to choose from. Though the staff were very helpful and polite, the service was a bit slow, it can be better. Absolutely magical place! As soon as you walk in, the cafe and it's vibe takes over you. Lots of glass windows and doors, a walkway around the outside of the cafe with a clean, green view of the surrounding trees and the vibrant-yet-minimalistic decor of the place make it extremely pleasant and charming. Such character and positivity!

I managed to catch only their Masala Chai as I was in a rush - which was perfect ghar wali chai. Since they served the sugar on the side, I was at liberty to make it as sweet as I like.

Their staff is super nice too and the service efficient.

Definitely going to head back to this beautiful place and give their food a go - have been hearing tonnes about their pancakes and eggs!

A very well located place right beside simaya in triangular park.
The menu was elaborate and has all the right things we had the savory pancakes with eggs and bacon. Which was well made. But the eggs could've been a tad bit lesser runny. Something to tell them we order this next time.
We also had the waffles with seasonal fruits whipped cream and nutella. This was a pretty decent waffle. Do try this.
We also tried the eggs benne-something. Again, the eggs were too runny. But this had pesto and another pancake below. Overall a good and innovative dish.

The hot chocolate was good aswell.

I've been to potboiler coffee house twice and I've had a wonderful time on both occasions. Firstly the ambience of the cafe is to die for. I adored the decor and the bookish theme.
Every beverage on the menu is inspired by a book and boy do they live up to it! My personal favourites are Malgudi Days from their winter menu and Metamocha-sis from their regular menu. I wasn't too big a fan of their food. But their coffee is probably one of the best I've had in the city so I'd highly recommend this to all the coffee lovers out there. It's a must try.

Book collections, captions from favourite books on the wall, cosy seating arrangement, this place was just perfect for any book lover. I tried their winter special dishes like orange honey grilled chicken, chocolate and orange marmalade pancakes and coffee.Though I didn’t like pancakes that much but that orange honey chicken preparation was just awesome. They serve it with mashed potato and boiled veggies. It is their signature dish so don’t expect quantity. A must visit for book and coffee lovers.... But it was not very pocket friendly for students.

I was around Lake Mall last week and thought of having some coffee on a lazy winter afternoon. Dropped in at The Potboiler's Coffee House, which is just 10 minutes from Lake Mall, near Triangular Park. It's situated on the second floor. And it also has outdoor seating as well.

These are the Food & Beverages which I Tried,

Food:

1. Honey Orange Chicken
2. Potboiler's Creamy Affair
3. Shirred Eggs
4. Toad In A Hole

Coffee:

1. Invitation to a bonfire
2. Malgudi Days

Desserts:

1. Chocolate & Orange Marmalade Pancakes
2. Gajar ka halwa tart

✨Recommended✨
1. Honey Orange Chicken: The flavour of Honey was subtle and the chicken was really soft, it melted away in the mouth!

2. Potboiler's Creamy Affair: it was very tasty as well as the cream was fresh and delicious. It perfectly went with the dish.

3. Invitation to a Bonfire: This coffee is served with a Marshmallow, which is burnt and then put in the coffee to give it a smoky flavour!

4. Gajar Ka Halwa Tart: this is a fusion of the traditional gajar ka halwa in a tart, it was super delicious and can be ordered as the perfect dessert to end the day on a sweet note.

Apart from the above dishes, you can also try their wide range of winter menu items. The ambience was really lovely, it has creatively designed graphitti all around the walls, also has a lot of story books & novels. So if you are looking for a place to spend some good time along with you favourite buddy or a good novel, then this is the place!

Located at a prominent location in triangular Park, just on the opposite street of the famous Hatari restaurant makes this place easily accessible. When you enter this cafe on the 2nd floor it connects to you with its amazing wall art and vibrant ambiance, courteous and ever-smiling staff adds in to the charm.
This cafe has a beautiful alley in the balcony for smokers and non smokers can spread out in inner two sections of the coffee house. They have focused on their coffee pretty well with detailed four page menu, I like how they customised with the seasonal menu card.
Also, each corner of this cafe has unique wall art mostly inspired from the idea of being a bibliophile and Harry Potter. They have books and board games to for the seeker.
Me and my friend had ordered for americano, filter coffee with elaichi, savory waffle with poached eggs and bacon.
The plating and quantity was minimalistic, the food was very fresh and tasty. It is absolutely value for money and very good for photography ;)

This is a newly opened cafe that is located near Triangular Park. The cafe is exactly located on the 2nd floor of Simaaya Saree Shope.

The interior of the cafe is really well decorated and its very pretty. The seating area of the cafe is divided 3 sections. Two of the sections are in the indoors & 1 is on the outside. The ouside or the outdoor seating area is really pretty & it's all the smoking area.

Now let's come to the food that I had tried out here. I actually tried out their newly launched winter menu that has all the three sections that you can choose from, that is the Drinks, Main Course/ Food and the Dessert section.

Drinks-

Invitation To A Bonfire
From Whom The Bombon Tolls
.
Invitation To A Bonfire: This one was like a drink with a show. As they light up the marshmallow in front of you after they serve you the drink. The drink is basically a White Chocolate Moca that is topped with a Marshmallow.

From Whom The Bombon Tolls: This drink is a expresso shot with condensed milk. The presentation was simple yet beautiful.

Food-

Shirred Eggs
Toad In A Hole
Potboiler's Creamy Affair
Glass Noodle's Stir Fry With Asian Veggies
.
Shirred Eggs: The presentation was really good. It's a baked egg dish. The egg is baked with mushroom or chicken as per your order. The shirred eggs are served with bread & boiled veggies on the side.

Toad In A Hole: This is a classic breakfast option
In this dish the bread is toasted with eggs in the middle. This dish is served with hash brown on the side. The toad in a hole was super yummy. The egg was properly cooked and the bread was properly toasted.

Potboiler's Creamy Affair: This dish comes both in veg & non veg options. I tried the non-veg option.
The non-veg option has grilled chicken skewers & veggies that is served with a side of creamy white sauce and sourdough dread. You can add parsley rice as a add on to it.

Glass Noodle's Stir Fry With Asian Veggies: This dish was tasty. The veggies went well with the glass noodles.

Dessert-

Non- Baked Tart (Gajar ka Halwa)
Chocolate And Orange Marmalade Pancake
.
Non- Baked Tart (Gajar ka Halwa): This was basically gajar ka halwa served in a trat. This was a good dessert. It wasn't very sweet that I really liked.

Chocolate And Orange Marmalade Pancake: The presentation was amazing. The pancake was fluffy and super yummy.

Winter is finally here in Kolkata and many restaurants are launching their special Winter Menu for the month of December. Potboiler Coffee House has launched their newly curated Winter Menu for the month of December. Located in Triangular Park this literary themed Cafe is a perfect place to chill in. And if you are a book lover then I assure you that will really enjoy a good time here.
The drinks and food in their winter menu have been developed keeping in mind the feeling of warmth, comfort and coziness one expects in Winters.
The key ingredients used in the dishes are very winter-specific and ingredients one would expect when one thinks of winters.
Idea of using fresh vegetables, fruits is such that winters is a great time to find fresh, local produce. On my recent visit I tried quite a number of items here.

Imagine curling up on a comfy couch with a good book and a hot cup of coffee with your partner or friends over some good laughs and chit-chats. It's nothing short of bliss right? Experience this at city's new coffee shop on Purna Das Road near Triangular Park.
Potboiler Coffee House is every bibliophile's dream come true! The moment you step inside, a monochrome wall art explaining the coffee-making process will greet you. We noticed a stand filled with colourful book covers, small review notes and messages. The inside walls also sport quirky one-liners and captions. You'll love the pista green wall, aptly named Anatomy of a Bookworm. The section near huge glass windows will definitely make Potterheads happy - string of bulbs hanging from the ceiling and Harry Potter-themed cushions.

Recommended dishes:
Egg Bene-something, Mad Hatter's Party Treat, Scrambled Eggs and Cheese on Everything Bagel, Honey Orange Grilled Chicken,Fried Oreos.

Paid a visit to this beautiful cafe located near Triangular Park.
The place is spacious and very beautifully decked up with beautiful corners.
Tried out some dishes and was totally amazed by their quality of the food and delicious taste.
Egg Bene-something their version of an egg Benedict which had a layer of avocado sauce topped with poached egg.
Baked Egg & Chicken Casserole was my favourite and is a must have dish served with two toasts.
The eggs are baked over a layer of chicken chunks.
Scrambled eggs and cheese on Everything Bagel was delicious.
Honey Orange Grilled Chicken is a new inclusion to their winter menu.It was very flavorful and the chicken was tender.
Chicken skewers served with a portion of creamy sauce, another favourite, the skewers had chicken balls with alternating portion of veggies like broccoli and bell peppers and a cube of cheese in the middle.
Penne in Alfredo Sauce,I've had better Alfredo pasta tbh, this one was good could have been a bit more creamier and smooth.
An Instagram-worthy place to be in,would be going back soon.
Great service and hospitality.

Potboiler was on my list of cafes for a long time...it opened into a ATM & a small elevator led me up to the cafe. It seemed like an adventure.
There is a special book corner where you can exchange your old books for new ones. ( Used).

I liked the small & cosy place... perfect hideout for all bookworms! Tried two different coffees. Loved the drink - curious case of salted popcorn caramel mocha I'd like to admit I was speculative about it first but it was worth the risk.

It's a lovely place to spend on your own in the company of books or friends.
The decor is cute & homely like it's atmosphere.

This has been our absolute favourite haunt since the time it more or less opened. The ambience and staff are both excellent and so is the taste and quality of the food. Love their Oolong Rose tea and their pancakes a little too much which is why we end up going back for more every week.

Pretty place just around the turn of a road. Inside isn't that large but good for coffee dates. People who love strong coffees, can visit here. Prices are a bit high for the food quality maybe. I don't know but maybe it was the wrong choice for the food. The Rigatoni pasta was a bit hard to chew on. When it's hot, it doesn't taste that much good. But as it started to cool down, a different kind of good flavour came up. The Vietnamese coffee was good. And the long black didn't look long at all. Good for one time visit, in my opinion.

If you are looking for different coffee variants, then you must visit this place for sure. The menu boasts an impressive array of beverages in both hot and cold, mostly caffeine-based and not to forget the delicious quick bites. The ambience is pretty calm and this is a quick go to place if you happen to be that area. The price is slightly on the higher side compared to the quantity offered. Taste wise it’s good and even the service was quick enough. Overall had a good time over here and would love to visit again.

Located on the narrow streets of Gariahat, this coffee house consists of huge varieties of coffees to offer. A small cafe with limited sitting arrangement but offering high quality coffee and food. Relaxing and comfortable ambience where you can have your coffee while reading books or chat with your friends. For me its a suitable cafe for spending some alone time while reading and sipping my favourite coffee. During Durga Puja we visited this cafe for the first time. Ordered Piccolo Late, Flat White, Cold Brew. Piccolo latte turned out to be the best choice. I think the coffee taste was a bit lighter than a Cortado, but it suited my choice of flavor. In the snacks section we tried Humus & chips, Pizza where as in the desert we had Tiramisu. Pizza was too good with perfectly baked bread and delicious toppings of sauce, tomatoes, cheese and fresh basil leaves. I highly recommend the tiramisu here.

Tucked in a corner in a street close to Purna das Road, Golpark, it is a small but tastefully done cafe with some unique, must try dishes. Tried a Turkish dish-poached eggs on yogurt. Beautiful. Coffee was standard.

With careful selection guided by google and zomato reviews, I visited the pretty well-known Potboiler cafe last week. The place is beautifully done up with the typical casual vibe that appeals to youngsters, but what appealed to me more is the fact that the place has CATS! My friend and I were greeted by a couple of feline friends soon as we walked in and it was pretty evident they rule the place. As for the food, the three dishes we tried were quite satisfactory, with the loaded mushroom crisps stealing the show. Overall, a good option if you want to chill for a bit with some good coffee, food, and the august company of cats.
