It was an amazing experience dining in here. The ambience of the restaurant was nice and the interior had the theme of a traditional house of Kolkata. It is highly recommended for those who wants authentic bengali dishes at a reasonable price. I must say that the quality and quantity of food is totally satisfying at its cost. Especially, the 'Daab Chingri' was awesome and is definitely one of the best dishes of this restaurant. One also must try the 'Chicken Cheeze Cutlet', 'Bhetki Paturi' and 'Aam Porar Shorbot'. The service was also very good and all the staffs were very well behaved. Overall, it was really an awesome experience having lunch here.

The taste of the food was great but the quantity was too less! Daab chingri ta just fatafati khete 6ilo. On the contrary, mutton kosha tasted pretty strange which was not delicious at all! Murshidabadi grilled chicken was in little portion, the restaurant needs to enhance their portion for the betterment of their business purpose only.

We had an amazing time here on our first visit. The place is easy to locate , off Jadavpur thana road towards South City. Free Parking available on first come first serve basis. Interiors look old school and rustic. Coming to the food, we had a great experience. The service was good and the owner keeps a close watch out for the guests (quality, service and customer experience).

It is a simple restaurant with simple decor. Pretty comfortable for families, friends and couples or solo diners. Food is really good when we dine in, however the only reason I gave it 4* is due to my food delivery experience of their Murshidabadi Grilled Chicken. The food delivery chicken seemed undercooked and had a raw smell. However, my companion and I have tried the following food to dine in, over our span of 2 visits here: Luchi, Polao, Biryani, Chanar Dalna, Dhonepata Kacha Lanka Murgi. All of the items were light on the stomach and extremely delicious. The quality and quantity both are sufficient. Service is very nice, however I am giving it 4* since at times it is hard to call over the servers since they are not around often.

One of the best bengali restaurants in South Kolkata with an Amazon spread of items to choose from. The paturi was one of the best I've ever had and the dhonepata kachalonka murgi was delicious. Would recommend it to any bengali food lovers.

This place is an absolute gem. I was looking for a place for authentic Bengali cuisine which is close to my home and this place was a true revelation. Located exactly at Jadavpur Police station crossing (right next to Ashok Laboratory) - 2 mins walking distance from South City mall, this stylishly decorated eatery is a must visit. The interiors are tastefully done and the ambiance is classy and peaceful. Coming to the food, I had ordered Bhetki Fish fry, Prawn Cutlet, White Pulao, Daab Chingri, Chital Mach er Muitha, Mutton Kosha, Gondhoraaj Ghol and Freshlime soda and was really impressed by the taste. The Daab Chingri was the best thing that I had in a long time. Being a probashi Bengali I am extremely particular about authentic Bengali food - particularly fish, which I rarely get to eat and I was really impressed with all the preparations. The staff was nice and friendly and all safety and hygiene protocols were maintained. From a cost perspective its reasonably priced and if you have Zomato pro you can get good discount as well. I will give them a big thumbs up and will be back soon again.

The place is quaint, decorated to add old world charm to its interiors and modern furnishings were properly used to provide a unique ambience. The place had ample seatings available on a Saturday afternoon. Food was very delicious and fresh. The taste was lip smacking for almost all the dishes. We ordered: Bhetki thali- had option of one from paturi, sorshe, jhal. Took sorshe. Chingrir Malay curry: Had two large galda chingri and was awesome. Must have with steamed rice. Kanchalanka dhonepata murgi- boneless legs of chicken cooked in a delicious tangy, mild spicy gravy. Luchi - fluffy yet crisp maida luchi - all was perfectly round. Gondhoraj chicken fry - not crisp but juicy chicken skewers with strong essence of gondhoraj lebu. Fish fry: 2 pieces were served. It was perfect. Basanti polao: Extremely good and soft as well as fluffy. Sweetness was very mild and had a proper balance. Potol dolma non veg : had prawn stuffing and was tasty too.

Calcutta Pi is essentially a Bengali restaurant located in the Jodhpur Park area. The interior boasts of the rich Bengali tradition influence by that of the renowned Tagore House or 'Thakur Bari'. With the forevermore melodious tunes written and composed by Tagore himself, sung by the famous singers playing in the background, the numerous pictures following the style of Abanindranath Tagore this restaurant will revert you back to your childhood making you feel the 'Bangaliana' locked deep inside every Bengali's hearts. This restaurant incorporated some other cuisines, other than that of the Bengali one. They are the Mughal cuisine and the Coastal cuisine. Upon entering the restaurant the owner as well as the staff of this place gave us quite a warm welcome making us feel comfortable. The entire experience was charming and felt like home to say the least. We had our lunch with quite a relish here. For starters we ordered: Corn Chaat - Th corns were sweet served with capcicum and onion slices. The entire ensemble was quite fresh. The masala made it taste extra delicious. Pahari Kabab - It had a light tangy taste. The chicken was very tender with a smoky essence, well cooked. Zaffrani Kabab - There was a distinct taste of safron. Again the chicken was tender with a smoky essence, went quite well with the sauce/ chutney. The Chicken itself was very flavourful and fresh. The chutney or sauce they provided us with was made of pudina, coriander leaves and a bit of lemon juice. For the main course we ordered: Ghee Rice with Kaju and Kishmish - This dish will make you reminiscent of the simple 'ghee bhat' we have at our homes. Fish Kondalpuri - Fresh tender fish with a spicy twist, went well with the sweet taste of the rice. Again this is also a coastal dish mainly found in Mangalore. Garlic Naan - Well cooked and quite soft. Chicken Xakuti - It was a bit spicy with a taste of coconut in the curry, an authentic coastal dish went quite well with the Garlic naan. It does not go well with the ghee bhat with kaju and kishmish as it overpowers the sweet taste of kishmish. Kerela Dry Mutton - Spicy coastal dish that went well with both the naan and the rice. It is recommended to order the rice to go with this dish as the sweetness of rice goes quite well with the spicy dish. The mutton was so well-cooked that it melted in our mouths. All in all a wonderful experience. Cheers and Happy Eating!❤️

Calcutta Pi is a newly opened fine dining restaurant located around 5 mins from South City Mall and a minute walk from Jadavpur Thana serving lip-smacking, soulful, heavenly and authentic Bengali delicacies. Bengali cuisine is a culinary style from Bengal region in the eastern part of the Indian subcontinent. Bengali food that originated and evolved in the region of Bengal situated in the eastern subcontinent of India is rich and varied in its platter starting from snacks to main courses to sweets where fish plays a dominant role. Probably this is why a Bengali is often typified as a ‘Maache-Bhaate-Bangali’ where Maach means fish and Bhaat means boiled rice in Bengali. A Bengali meal follows a multi-course tradition where food is served course-wise usually in a specific format, marking it as the only meal of the subcontinent to have evolved such convention. Calcutta Pi has absolutely nailed the concept of authentic Bengali food & my recent visit here turned out to be an amazing one, indeed! With minimalistic, bright & plush interiors, the place is huge and divided into segments for accommodation. Wall paintings by eminent artists with quirky wall graphitti followed by old Bengali songs sets the tone of this place & gives you a superb vibe! Mochar Chop, Egg Devil, Fish Fry with Tomato Ketchup & Kasundi (Mustard Sauce), Basanti Pulao, Kosha Mangsho, Murgi Duckbanglow, Dhoka'r Dalna were the delectable items that we ordered & every dish lived upto it's name! Maintaining the authenticity of all the iconic Bengali Dishes, Calcutta Pi has impressed me totally with their ambiance, decor, service & most importantly their outstanding food. Last but not the least, their showstopper, the Khir er Luchi was one of the best innovative desserts that I've ever had. Extremely well balanced amount of sweetness coupled with the fabulous taste of 'khir' turned out to be the best of the lot! Perfect place to sort out your lunch or dinner scenes with friends & family over good food, music & drinks!
