I can't express in a word about this place. This place became one of my favorite . I was searching for a vegan restuarent or mock meat for long time . Finally I found it. And chycken Tikka biriyani was too good. I loved the flavor. Vegan fysh fry , cheese cake , nice cream choco fudge, all food & deserts taste were super yummiieeeeee. My total bill was 1530. that's why I got a chocolate cake as a free gift from them.it was so tasty. Even I loved the atmosphere also. It's totally different from the other places. So I wanna highly recommend to vegan vegetarian even non vegetarian people also. Everybody ll love this place , must visit . Thank you so much Ubuntu Eat. Next month again I ll visit.

I stopped consuming meat products when I was a student of feminist philosophy. So I have always looked for vegan cafés/restaurants in my city for the last 4 years. Yesterday I visited India's 1st eco-friendly vegan community cafe Ubuntu Eat in the heart of South Kolkata. It offers a wide range of regional and global pure vegan delicacies made of plant based dairy, meat & fish substitutes, which closely resemble the texture. Their soda-free lemonade is so refreshing, it takes care of your taste buds in the sweltering heat. The interior of this non-AC sustainable zero-waste enterprise built using recycled materials which positively impacts in environment saving. One of the best things about 'Ubuntu' is that they're actively trying to make the world a better place. It was lovely to meet their CEO Abhinav, who helped us to understand the "Ubuntu philosophy". To conserve our natural resources & animals, to spread the idea of feminist veganism and to stop animal cruelty, we need more people and places like Ubuntu. Another bonus point is that Ubuntu is DOG-FRIENDLY 🐕 Ubuntu Eat is highly recommended for anyone looking for a plant-based, dairy-free culinary adventure! 🥗

Food tastes better when it's vegan :) Loved the place and the people working there. Ubuntu Eat has a very elaborate menu and they do an excellent job in bringing the taste of actual kosha mangsho, biriyani, macher jhol, fish fry by using plant based substitutes. It's been 2 years that I stopped eating meat and having chycken biriyani and mangsho kosha was a bit nostalgic to me. Thanks to Ubuntu Eat for bringing me back the flavors that I missed in these years. Also Ubuntu Eat is not just a vegan restaurant they do help people in recycling e-wastes and composting. So if you need help in recycling your e-wastes or want to understand how to compost food wastes this is a good place to stop by. They also arrange vegan potlucks so it's a good way to meet other vegan people and be part of this small vegan community.

Kolkata's first and till now only Vegan restaurant. Vegan cuisine is based on the philosophy of no animal cruelty so they use plant based products. So no milk, honey or cheese, rather they have soy milk, almond milk, coconut milk, plant based cheese and honey. The food here is awesome and the price and quantity are both justified. They have mock meat so I tried fish fry for starters which had no fish but tasted equally good, I also tried kosha mangsho and plain rice and cheesecake for desert. We also had Lebanese pita wrap and Ubuntu special pizza. You can customise your orders between maida or whole wheat and crust options are thin crust or cheese burst. Overall an amazing place.

100% recommend coming here while in Kolkata. The owner is actually vegan and believes in the cause of reducing animal cruelty. The food was great, and something you’re unlikely to find almost anywhere in India.

First, we were so profoundly touched by the hospitality and & "warmth" provided by Vikas et al. This is a crucial first step toward being a successful vegan restaurant. We were speechless after testing the food. After being vegan for the last five years, I have explored many vegan restaurants in the US but have yet to have the opportunity to try my classical Bengali cuisine in a vegan format! We were so amazed to find out how close the test of "un mutton biriyani" and "Kasa mangso" was to the non-vegan versions of these dishes. Mind-blowing! Finally, the overall vibration of kindness and humbleness makes "Ubuntu" a perfect ambiance for vegan dining! We wish Ubuntu the best for successful expansion in the future!

I reached there very tired, hungry and late, found I was the only one there. Ordered chyken biriyani and peanut raita. While I got to know the owner Vikas and his adventures a little more I relished every bite of my biriyani till my stomach was beyond full but heart still craved for something sweet. Loved all of it. peanut raita just added a summer cool lush to my hot biriyani. Listening to my heart I called in for a slice of cheese cake. Cheese cake was a little more walnutty than I expected but still a good try. Cost also seemed good it cost me around 800 for all of it. There was definitely more on the menu that I wanted to try but hey saving it for the next time. Lovely ambience, good host delicious food, a must try if you are in kolkata

Settings aside the fact that it's a vegan cafe they serve amazingly flavoursome n delectable food. The tofu soup felt like a warm hug especially during this winter season. It was served in a bowl made of coconut and had a rich mushroom and tofu flavour. The momos were whole wheat and I would have never guessed it to be vegan if it wasn't mentioned. Great Initiative!Definitely gonna visit again :)

We stayed in their airbnb and ate at there cafe for 4 days straight. We tried all kinds of dishes from their menu and each one of them were delicious. I particularly liked their Smoothie bowls, Chyken Burger and Smoothies. Food Presentation was satisfying. Ambience was very relaxing, Hospitality was very good and hygiene was well maintained. We talked with cafe's owner Shreya di and Vikash Bhaiya and came to know about the inspirations behind their cafe (their cafe is an eco-friendly cafe). And it is a journey. You can visit their eco-friendly shop.Overall it was a very good experience. Thank You Ubuntu and keep growing!!

Only place in Eastern India / Kolkata to have vegan foods. This was the first time I have had vegan food and they didnt disappoint me. Coming to the meals, the food options here are abundant if you are not shy to customise your order with the manager. Try the FYSH & CHYCKEN dishes. In addition one cam visit their zero waste store and purchase vegan stuffs too. The does not follow a typical business model and rather emphasises on raising community awareness. Founded by two environmentatlist they have a Air BNB above the restaurant. Takeway option is also available with online order from Zomato or Swiggy. Mustvisit place for typical NoN VeG lovers like me and enjoy a stumptous meal of LUCHI and KOSHA MANGSHO. Also the regular milk free desserts made of soya and oats milk is a must try. Once you visit you will get the vibe and can thank me later🤘👍.

This is one of the very few complete Vegan cafe in the heart of South Kolkata. It offers pure vegan delicacies made of plant based meat & fish products. The interior of the café is built using recycled materials which positively impacts in environment saving. Taste and garnishment of cuisines are really appealing. I would strongly recommend anyone to give it a try. Kudos to the initiative 👏

The food here is surprisingly tasty. The Paneer Pizza and Paneer Shawarma was really tasty, and it was completely vegan. The staff behaviour was really nice and they were quite prompt with the orders. I will definitely recommend everyone to try them.

Ubuntu is the only pure vegan restaurant in Kolkata and on top of that it's a zero-waste enterprise. It was such a discovery for me! The decor is very cosy yet stylish. You can learn a lot about vegan lifestyle and philosophy from iconographics on the walls. The owner is super friendly and knowledgeable. And the food is simply amazing, rich and flavoursome. I tried it on multiple occassions (when you order online, everything comes in paper packaging). This was my first opportunity to try all the meaty dishes of Bengal: mutton biryani, mutton kosha, shorshe mach (my favourite)... all 100% plant-based. My husband solemnly confirmed the dishes taste 99% authentic. I also enjoyed their homemade hummus (which you can buy in a mini shop for home use) and all the cakes. Last but not least, this place won't break the bank. I totally recommend it!

It was a great experience, with eco-friendly environment with vegan community, thanks to all team for this great initiative in a highly non-vegan state.Fresh surrounding , Polite Behavior. I also purchased Emkay Vegan Ghee & Good Mylk Sugar Free Mylk , The owner also suggest me to visit the beautiful Rabindra Sarovar.I also like the lines written in toilet 😄. The taste and presentation of all the dishes are awesome. Preparation of dishes is very fast. Best wishes from my side for more growth and development.🙏

This cafe requires the hype. I'm a non vegetarian (to be or potent vegan) but still I loved this place. The food was fabulously tasty and quantity is sufficient for individual. The founder of this place are also really nice person. One must visit this cafe once. And after you visit it once you will dine in frequently.

The location is a bit hidden. You have to take an auto from rabindra sarobar metro station towards Hindusthan Sweets. Get down there and take a 5 mins walk. The cafe is very nice. All the vegan menus. I tasted Paratha n vegan meat along with pizza and ice cream. The food was nice and tasty. A bit expensive, otherwise all good. Nice initiative.
