Food taste is not at all good as expected. Ordered grilled chicken but the food that ended up on my plate was not that at all. It was something else but they claim it is grilled chicken and it is best. Baked fish was better. Staff behaviour was very good and they tried to compensate it which made us feel happy, but definitely not the food.
Very nice ambience. Reasonable price with good quality food. Location is good as well. Parking is available outside. Normally remains very crowded over the weekend, specially during weekends. Live music performance is there over the weekends. Though not sure if the same is available every weekend or on special ocassions. Overall very good. Very much recommemded.
Amazing place to spend an evening ... Kabiraji was delightful, coffee was good though cold coffee was not available... also Gondhoraj Chicken pakoda was a delight. The ambience, decorations on the inside was top notch... staff was well mannered and suggested their best š
I went there on last Sunday with my friend whose photo is posted in the review š. So here I am posting an honest review so that it will help others for deciding whether anyone should visit there or not. First of all, it is located in a very outskirt area, hardly anyone could get public transport so it is advisable to by own vehicle. It is just located to opposite of Amity University. Secondly while visiting there on weekends please make an advance booking through bookmyshow, it will cost you Rs. 20 per person else you should have to wait for more than an hour. Overall the ambience and the place was very good. Coming to the food the pricing was decent and it was finger licking. Recommended to visit atleast once. Thanking you for reading this review.š¤
Hours can be spent sitting with friends and loved ones sipping a cup of coffee. Nice ambience and interior decoration However, to increase the seating capacity, the table chairs are arranged so side by side that you bump into your chair when you get up.Communication system according to location is very poor. Better to take your own car. I tried cold coffee which I liked very much. The quality of food now is better.
We went on a Saturday evening. There was a light drizzle in the afternoon, so maybe it wasn't that crowded. We had ti wait for around 15mins before getting a seat. The ambiance was great and there was live music. Service is good given they have to manage such a large crowd. We ordered grilled chicken, fish fry, french fries and cold coffee. There is no regular water and had to opt for packaged water. Cold coffee wasn't great. Grilled chicken was okay. Please avoid the Fish fry (there are multiple shops all over the city which has really great Fish fry), it was oily and smelling and didn't taste good. The best of the lot was french fries š
Nice place to hang out but they need to improve the quality of the food.
I love these all new versions of coffee houses. It's like coffee house 2.0. The ambience is awesome. Food is cheap and good. The only problem is the staff. Service is a bit slow. Don't go there if you're in a hurry. Sit, relax, and enjoy your conversations.
I admit I was a bit sceptical about this place seeing the mad rush it had during it's initial days, I thought this would be just another gimmicky cafe playing on nostalgia factor of Bengalis. However, my recent visit to this newest addition to the ever growing number of cafes in Kolkata was a pleasant surprise. Located right opposite Amity University campus in Newtown, it's not the most conveniently located places to reach, however once you get there it transports you back to a bygone era, the building itself is a stark contrast to the ultra modern skyscrapers that is common to the area. Once you enter the premises you are warmly greeted by the attendants, again a remarkable difference from the people of the original outlet. The ambience, service, food quality are all hundred times better than the College Street outlet whose only credibility nowadays is the nostalgia and heritage factor which they are running to the ground with their bad service, unhealthy environment and no infrastructure update. I hope the new outlet doesn't follow in it's predecessors footsteps and keep this culture of good customer service alive.
Very nicely decorated and we'll maintained. Taste of food is good and service is great. Very nice place to hangout for hours. Note: this is not part of old college street coffee house but I found it better than coffee house er adda.
The only negative thing is the location.. very remote..and the long waiting period.. you have to wait 1-1.5hr on holidays.. otherwise the food , ambiance and the service is fantastic.. Must visit place to have some snacks and bites..
The overall experience was great. We've to book our seat before reach there. The staff was pretty good. The ambiance of the coffee house was same the the indian coffee house but it's kind of modern.
The food they serve was pretty good.
Of course they don't have tea.
The cold coffee was good. And the seasonal ginger mango was the best beverage for me.
The fish kabiraji i don't like it that much, else the sandwich and f.finger was good.
It's a nice place. We have to wait around 10 mins because of a bit rush. Food was good. Atmosphere was also nice. No complain about service and staffs' behaviour. All went well for us. Good place to visit with friends and family. Definitely missed the nostalgia of old coffee house. But overall a good experience.
Very good place to spend time with friends, family and partner. But, the location is very odd! You can go by car/cab quite easily but not so easily by public transport.
Everything else is good about this Coffee Houseāfood quality is good in reasonable price (higher than the Indian Coffee House, College Street), service is fast and promising (far better than the College Streetās), staffs are well-behaved (also better than the College Streetās), ambience and interior is good (obviously not like the original one at College Street). But one thing is quite peculiar and too professional at the same timeāto enter this Coffee House one has to book time slots!
Visit Coffee house today for the 2nd time. Honestly speaking...though the environment is good...but it is far from the old Coffee House... Indeed the heritage and nostalgia is missing...
Even though...it is a nice place to visit and spend some time...
Food quality is moderate to good....pocket pinch is a bit on the higher side .
Amazing ambience. Good food. Excellent and quick service.
Outdoor and indoor seating are both beautiful. They have also couple seatings in the first floor.
Overall this is a great instagramable cafe with an affordable menu. Most of the items are below 200 Rs.
Their cold coffee is a must try.
Only setback is the location is in a remote place.
New Town Coffee house gives you a nostalgic feeling of old coffee house's adda and tasty bites with hot coffee.
Ambience of this place was really very nice, only thing that caught my eyes was the seat which was not very clean else everything was great.
We ordered Gandhoraj Chicken pakora and bread toast with cappuccino and cold coffee and at the end had black forest cake. All of the item was perfect but my personal favorite was Gandhoraj Chicken pakora. One must give a try...
I must sing praises for the Fish Kabiraji and Chicken Gondhoraj Pokoraā¤ļø. The Fish Kabiraji was a masterpiece of flavors and textures, with the crispy coating giving way to succulent fish that practically melted in my mouth. And the Chicken Gondhoraj Pokora was a revelation ā the zesty aroma of gondhoraj lime infused the chicken with a tantalizing tang that left me craving for more. I'm looking forward to my next visit to Coffee House!!!š
