Kabir, a Turkish restaurant located in the heart of Esplanade, Kolkata, near Chandni Chowk Metro Station (Gate No. 6)! We got a different kind of food experience!! I had an extraordinary experience with Turkish food here. There is limited seating, but the food won't let you down! I can give it the highest praise with 5 stars is absolutely not enough! The cooking sequence was the best. We liked everything here very much. The place is quite small. The behavior and way of talking of the staff was very good and the behavior of the owner was also very good.

I am a big fan of Mughlai cuisine but one of my friends suggested this place known for its Turkish delicacies. The place is quite small but the food served makes up for it. The price I feel is reasonable when we consider the quality and quantity that is served here. Tried their Chicken Krespa rice and Tavuk Cheese kabab, if I remember their names correctly. The rice was served with Tandoori size chicken along with thick gravy, absolutely loved it. Even half a portion of rice is good enough for 3 average eaters. The Cheese kabab, they did not shy away from the cheese, I must admit. Wonderful service, good food, good ambiance. I just wished this place could have been slightly bigger but still, it's worth trying. I loved it.

A different type of dining experience!! Place is located near Chadni Chowk Metro Station (Gate No. 6)! Sitting area is limited, but the food won't disappoint you! Food: Tried and liked Yemek than the Ouji rice! However Kunafa was not available for trial!! Teuvuk Platter: 4 types of kebabs! Good combination!! Malai kebab was the best 4/5 Cheese Yemek Platter: 5/5 Mutton Ouji Rice: 3/5 okayish! Service is bit slow, we went for lunch and had to wait for 25-30 mins for the dishes! For Kunafa, better to call and visit as it is not available all the time!

Kabir's is a hidden gem at heart of the city. This resturant serves Turkish dishes in very reasonable price. The resturant is small but well decotated, less crowded when we visited. The atmosphere is very calm and cozy. They have wide variety of starters ti choose from. We ordered Kanat which is basically chicken wings kebab, was very juicy and delecious. In main course we ordered Tovuk cheese kebapYemek whic was a wholesome dish with extraordinary taste. The best attraction of this resturant is their desserts. They have a separate dessert menu. Must try: Sutlan Lokumu,Turkish Rice Pudding, Baklava and Kunafa. Service is very good. Free street parking available.

This is a hidden gem in Kolkata. The place is beautifully decorated. I had ordered below items, Mutton sirali kebaps Mutton testi Chicken ouzi rice (must try) (half would be enough for 2-3 persons) Sheer khurma (must try) Zaatar naan Yufka naan Sultan lokumu Baklava rolls The quality of the foods are fantastic and delicious too. Just one cons is that the place is not that much big. (2-4 people max) Service also was good. So,I'd suggest you must visit this place once to try Turkish foods.

The place is pretty small and a little stuffy. However, the food is quite good! The staffs are very helpful as well. We ate Mutton Testi with nun, the mutton is enough for two people, we took two nuns, just sufficient. We also had a rice desert that tasted like frozen paayesh but pretty good over all. We'll surely come back again to taste the other items.

I had an exceptional dining experience at Kabir's, the Turkish restaurant nestled in the heart of Esplanade, Kolkata. I can't praise it enough with a well-deserved 5 stars! The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the Mutton Testi, it was a burst of rich, succulent flavors that left my taste buds in awe. The tender mutton cooked to perfection in that clay pot was simply divine. And let's not forget the Sultan Lokumu - a delightful dessert that melted in my mouth, leaving a sweet, lingering memory. The staff, especially Arnab, was not only attentive but also remarkably knowledgeable about the menu, offering insightful recommendations and ensuring that every aspect of our visit was delightful. I wholeheartedly recommend Kabir's to anyone seeking an authentic Turkish culinary adventure in Kolkata. Don't miss the Mutton Testi and Sultan Lokumu, they're a must-try!

Ganesh Chandra Avenue in Central Kolkata ,for decades is known as a hub for Computer Hardware , pumps and other Industrial machinery . I was bit surprised when my good friend told me about Kabir's ,while I was searching for a decent Turkish joint . It was a stiflingly hot late summer afternoon when we were found dragging our half comatose bodies up the carpeted stairs at Kabir's . One gets the impression of walking into a middle eastern Drawing room as one climbs up. The place being too compact , no sitting on the floor business here . We tried out the genuinely Turkish items from the menu , which does have a quite few Indian items too. I would strongly recommend consulting the helpful waiters here while ordering , otherwise one is almost guaranteed to carry home half eaten portions as parcels . The things we tried out were : 1. Mutton Manisa Kebap ( Kebab ) - Minced mutton cooked over charcoal and served with bread, barbequed salad, tomato salsa , butter and curd . This thing bowled me over and made our visit worthwhile . 2. Mutton Ouzi Rice - Basmati rice cooked with succulent mutton and Turkish spices . Baked in pot. This thing is basically Turkish mutton pulao . It looks like Biriyani , but its a distant cousin. Six pieces of decent sized mutton comes with the rice . Half portion will feed three people with normal appetite . If you are two , most probably you will be carrying a parcel home ( Just doesn't taste the same when it is reheated ). 3. Baklava Rolls - A typical middle eastern dessert made out of dough , which is served as strips. This was entirely unique to us and cant easily compare to known Indian desserts . The young waiters out here ; while quite polite need to interact much more with the guests , considering most of the Kolkata dining crowd will be at sea while negotiating with the food . The Indian part of the menu is priced quite cheap ( the chicken , mutton biryanis and the like ), while the genuinely Turkish items are kind of costly . ( The Half portion of Mutton Ouzi rice we ate , comes for Rs 850 currently ). I cant agree with some other reviews where the restaurant has been tagged inexpensive overall . This place certainly demands ones attention both taste and budget wise , before the diner walks in. I think there is scope for improvement in the ambience of the place and service and hence holding on to a star in this review . Cant wait to climb on those carpeted stairs yet again !

It is breath of fresh air amidst a sea of mughlai restaurants in Kolkata. The food is tasty and unique. We ordered Mutton Manisa kebab, Tavuk kebap platter, Mutton Ouzi rice, Sultan lokumu and Pistachio Baklava for dessert. The kebabs were good but I liked the Ouzi rice even better. Mutton was fall off the bone tender. The dessert items were unique, with Sultan lokumu being light, fluffy and mildly sweet while Baklava was delightful.

A solid 5 star all-over experience, be it food or service, though we should not consider the ambience to review as it is small but well decorated. Coming to the service first, we were attended by Faizan, who, at first I thought was paying attention to large groups only as we were two people and had to shift places twice. But after we realised it was all the customer's fault and he repeatedly apologized to us for that too. He was very well mannered, always smiling and an attentive sweet person. Coming to the food we had (Hope I'll name those dishes right) Mutton Manisa Kebab, Mutton Adana Kebab Yemek and all the available desserts that day including the hyped Cheese Kunafa, Sutlac, Baklava Roll, Sultan Lokumu. Manisa Kebab yas too much good, not only the kebab but the sauce and yoghurt mixture & the bread ta too good, mutton was very standardly spiced and perfectly cooked to juicy tenderness. Yemek was a bit like Chello Kebab platter, only here the kebab came with a gravy preparation and there was a mix veg dish with paneer. As I do not like these kind of heavy gravy it was just ok for me but moving to the dessert part I was amazed and spellbound. Sultan Lokumu and Sutlac was very very tasty and appealing, I mean I could eat that after all those things. But the Baklava was too dry and Kunafa was very heavy. I suggest if you're 3-4 person then only order a Kunafa.

Amazing food and drinks. We had chicken cheese tavuk kebap, mutton ouzi rice (unique light weight mutton pulao cooked with olive tomato etc), Sultan Lokumu (milk and cream pudding with coconut flakes), sheer khurma (pudding filled with nuts, low on sweetness yet very tasty) in desserts and Electric shock (chef's special, not present in the menu), watermelon mojito as drinks. Every item was well cooked, tasty and of good quality. Mutton pieces were decent and juicy. Pocket pinch was around 1700 for 3 people. What more can you ask for?!

Quick details: Yemek plater /₹265 Or Mutton biryani /₹285 Now in details. Lets say you are roaming in the heart of Kolkata, places like Chandni Chowk, Esplanade. Its afternoon and you are hungry, having a craving for something heavy meal with variety of options at one go, but you are tired of eating chinese and mughal cuisine which are wildly spread all over Kolkata. You want something different and also that satisfies one person with much less duty on the pocket, something like max to max ₹300 for each. All those above odds are quite hard to kill in one go, but here is where you want to be in. The KABIR'S. Turkish cuisine is known for their kebabs 🍢 , and that chicken cheese was just mesmerising, it just melts inside the mouth. I have been to many places in Kolkata and "for me" this "THIS PLACE IS HAS BEST KEBABS IN THE CITY" . ...and for some reason you believe shawarma is a arab food, you need to know this: Originating from the Ottoman Empire (roughly modern-day Turkey) in the 18th or 19th century, shawarma, also spelled shawurma or shawerma, meaning “turning” in Arabic, is a Levantine meat preparation, where thin cuts of lamb, chicken, beef, or mixed meats are stacked in a cone-like shape on a vertical rotisserie. Must go, this place is a hidden gem. You will have a great time. Suggested meals: Tavuk cheese kabab Plater Tavuk cheese kabab in gravy Special shawarma Sultan Lokumu Mutton biryani

Located just opposite Gate No. 6 of the Chandni Chowk Metro Station, this Turkish restaurant is surely a bliss to the taste bud. Tried some of their special dishes - Tavuk Cheese Kebab, Mutton Adana Kebab Yemek, Mutton Ouzi Rice. Adding a little sweetness after the heavy meal, hopped for the two very unique dessert dishes - Sultan Lokumu and Sultac. Surely giving a full bucket of 4.9 stars out of 5 as this is a must try! Cause why not? Though never ever had Turkish food before, but would surely state that the Food was excellent (Quality as well as Quantity), Staffs were great mannered, Price was very cheap compared to high rise restaurants and the Ambience was amazing for a little lunch or dinner date with your loved ones. Definitely going to try this restaurant again with my family and friends!
