Murugan Idli shop, a spacious well maintained restaurant! on our pondatury tour we started from Bangalore at 6.30am, reached here for our 1st break at 8.30 am. The place is conveniently located on the highway at Krishnagiri. Wonderful and nice ambiance, both within the seating area and outside, ample parking, good food and I liked everything but not given 5 stars as service is a bit slow, staff seems just not bothered about customer hospitality, we had to ask for spoons 3-4 times. They are very slow in taking the order and cleaning the tables as well. The waiting time also is very annoying. However it is worth waiting for, as the food is really good, The best! Idlis were very soft. The masala podi is also amazing, Sambhar, Chutneys-with varieties of chatni optins was also good and very tasty. At Least for the convenience of guests from other states they need to give chatni in small boules instead of on banana leaf and provide spoons!! Restrooms are clean and well maintained. Overall it was a very satisfying experience

Best restaurant to visit when travelling towards Hosur and Pondicherry. They serve authentic Tamil Nadu style Pongal. They provide 5 varieties of chutney with idli and dosa along with sambar. Their wheat halwa is not to miss. Ghee pudi idli is really good. Onion uttapam is not upto mark. Very huge parking and sitting area with quick service

• Idlis were very soft. The best! The masala podi is also amazing 🤩 • Chutneys are alright. Not that strongly flavoursome. • The Sambhar was okay good. • The Onion Utthapam was fantastic with the perfect crispy outer layer and soft inside. The onions in it had perfect roasted flavour. • The Podi Masala Dosa was just okay. It wasn’t crisp. The aloo inside was nicely mashed and soft. • The Godhi Halwa is seventh heaven for sweet tooths like me 😇

Ordered the famous Murugan Podi Idly and podi dosa. The food is pretty good. Also order the South Indian meals. The cabbage palya and the rasam were excellent and not to forget, the Kesaribath. They are decently priced as well.

Murugan Idli Shop near the highway offers a delightful dining experience. Conveniently accessible from the highway service and you cannot miss the exit for it and it comes with ample parking, it excels in prompt service and delicious food. From the easily navigable location to the quick, efficient service and delightful dishes, it's a highly recommended stop for idli enthusiasts, with 4 types of chutneys, and the sweet Pongal is a must eaten hot. Jigarthanda is another dish which should not be missed, however the quantity has reduced recently. Washrooms are also decent.

I recently visited Murugan Idli Shop, and it was a delightful experience. The journey to this breakfast spot was well worth it. What sets this place apart are its unique offerings. They serve not one or two, but four types of chutneys, each bursting with distinct flavors. However, the real star of the show is their famous Pongal. It's not just food; it's an experience in itself. Creamy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, the Pongal here .In addition to the exceptional food, the ambiance and service were equally commendable. The staff was friendly and attentive, making our visit even more enjoyable.I also managed to capture some moments of my visit in pictures, which I've shared here. Overall, Murugan Idli Shop exceeded my expectations, and I recommend it to anyone looking for an good breakfast experience.

We had our breakfast early in the morning. If the crowd is more, there is a slight 15 to 20min waiting required. However it is worth waiting for as the food is really good. Idly with varieties of chattini and other podi idly, variety dosa and idly. I really love the mint chattini with plain idly. They are having other savouries and sweets as well. There is ample parking available with clean washroom facilities. The place is slightly located on a slope, so there is a chance to miss out while driving from Bangalore. Worth exploring once and I will visit again.

Murugan Idli is highway south Indian food joint. As expected, food was excellent specially Podi Dosa/Idli etc. Coffee was also great and overall food was good. The staff were keeping the restaurant clean and restrooms were also in good condition. One should try sweet Pongal, it was yummy after spicy podi dosa/idli.

Iconic place for Pudi Idly since few decades. Now a days lot of restaurants have come up with Pudi Idly in their menu, Murugan Idly was only place in the past where we could relish Pudi Idly. Most favourite and yummy dishes here goes like this - Pudi Idly, Ghee Roast, Onion Uttapam, Pudi Dosa, Pongal and Sweet Pongal. Ofcourse coffee is very good. In recent visits I feel only Pudi Idly and Coffee has been very good compared to other dishes in the menu. It’s near Krishnagiri, Kanchi and Chennai where I have visited and experienced same feedback.

I liked their masala dosa but it could be improved. Service was nice. The staff were really co-operative and quick. I am not so fond of filter coffee so it was okay for me. If you like filter coffee you might like it.

Nice Spot for a fine breakfast stop on the way from Bengaluru to Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu on the NH44. If you are not on a tight schedule, you can have a pit stop here and have a breakfast with your family and friends. Just one reminder, it is a crowd pulling place and there is a waiting time, goes from half an hour or more, depending on the day. I visite on Sunday and there was half an hour waiting period at around 9 am in the morning. Other than that everything seems good, good washroom, spacious parking.

Excellent idli and dosa items. I would recommend Garlic Podi idli which I love to have it all the time. Sweet/sakkara pongal is also a must try which they serve in dhonnai. Same with ven Pongal. Service was great and the person Tamilarasan who I got last 3 times is so calm and polite. Excellent service.

Great place to have authentic Madurai cuisine. Podi idili is a must try. Also, do try the podi masala dosa. The sweet pongal was also delicious. The taste of the ghee and podi on warm food is simply yummy. The place has ample parking. However, the seating space is limited. Do expect a wait time on weekends of a minimum of 20 minutes. We reached around 7.30 and still had to wait. They also have a store selling their products, which includes podis, various sweets, and other savouries. It also makes for a great drive/ride on the weekend. Do visit the Krishnagiri dam and fort nearby. 30/11/23 Visited on a weekday. Minimal crowd with nearly all seats occupied. New additions include garlic podi idli and curry leaf idli. The garlic podi idli was good, the curry leaf idli was miss for me.
