It is a good cafe to spend time with friends and family. A coffeehouse, coffee shop, or café is an establishment that primarily serves various types of coffee, espresso, latte, and cappuccino. Some coffeehouses may serve cold drinks, such as iced coffee and iced tea, as well as other non-caffeinated beverages. A coffeehouse may also serve food, such as light snacks, sandwiches, muffins, fruit, or pastries. In continental Europe, some cafés also serve alcoholic beverages. Coffeehouses range from owner-operated small businesses to large multinational corporations. Some coffeehouse chains operate on a franchise business model, with numerous branches across various countries around the world. While café may refer to a coffeehouse, the term "café" generally refers to a diner, British café (colloquially called a "caff"), "greasy spoon" (a small and inexpensive restaurant), transport café, teahouse or tea room, or other casual eating and drinking place.[1][2][3][4][5] A coffeehouse may share some of the same characteristics of a bar or restaurant, but it is different from a cafeteria. Many coffeehouses in the Middle East and in West Asian immigrant districts in the Western world offer shisha (actually called nargile in Levantine Arabic, Greek, and Turkish), flavored tobacco smoked through a hookah. An espresso bar is a type of coffeehouse that specializes in serving espresso and espresso-based drinks. From a cultural standpoint, coffeehouses largely serve as centers of social interaction: a coffeehouse provides patrons with a place to congregate, talk, read, write, entertain one another, or pass the time, whether individually or in small groups. A coffeehouse can serve as an informal club for its regular members. As early as the 1950s Beatnik era and the 1960s folk music scene, coffeehouses have hosted singer-songwriter performances, typically in the evening. The most common English spelling café, is the French, Portuguese, and Spanish spelling, and was adopted by English-speaking countries in the late 19th century. The Italian spelling, caffè, is also sometimes used in English. In Southern England, especially around London in the 1950s, the French pronunciation was often facetiously altered to /kæf/ and spelt caff. The English words coffee and café derive from the Italian word for coffee, caffè—first attested as caveé in Venice in 1570—and in turn derived from Arabic qahwa (قهوة). The Arabic term qahwa originally referred to a type of wine, but after the wine ban by Islam, the name was transferred to coffee because of the similar rousing effect it induced. European knowledge of coffee (the plant, its seeds, and the drink made from the seeds) came through European contact with Turkey, likely via Venetian-Ottoman trade relations. The English word café to describe a restaurant that usually serves coffee and snacks rather than the word coffee that describes the drink, is derived from the French café. The first café in France is believed to have opened in 1660. The first café in Europe is believed to have been opened in Belgrade, Serbia in 1522 as a Kafana (Serbian coffee house). The translingual word root /kafe/ appears in many European languages with various naturalized spellings, including Portuguese, Spanish, and French (café); German (Kaffee); Polish (kawa); Serbian (кафа / kafa); Ukrainian (кава, 'kava'); and others.

The place is very good , they provide a guitar (though it was not in a very good condition). Their exotic radio collection was very nostalgic. Though you can't find any network in the cafe. The coffee was very good. And the best thing , you can smoke here

Finally a casual place in Kurseong for the youth. Good contemporary ambience/interiors with upcycled/industrial finish. Serves flavoured hookah. Menu needs to incorporate non vegetarian food options as well, as of now, only veg. Adding a few salads or wraps should also be good. Would be good if we see some more fresh & healthy fast food options, free from preservatives or added sugars

Ambience is admirable but the service is very undervalued. Seen locals drinking alcoholic beverages but they don't serve it to outsiders.

This is a vegetarian cafe with nice decor. The food is good and it’s extremely pocket friendly. It’s enroute EC, so if u are travelling by car please don’t visit this place, the road is extremely narrow, and it’s difficult to get parking there.

Splendid and Top-notch ! Wanna hang out with your croonies or plan a rendezvous with your Date !! 9Feet under is where your quest comes to a halt. A cozy venue with just the quintessential ambience, accompanied by a rustic and musical theme adds to the idyllic setting. The delectable aroma of the comestible pervading the air will result in a deluge in interior of the mouth. The menu offers you to explore scrumptious items and drinks in an economical manner and will not be a toll to one's pocket. It provides you a perfect location to have a chit chat accompanied with soft or maybe even loud music in background if one wishes. In a nutshell ,9 Feet under Cafe is an ideal venue for having a gala time with your friends and loved one.

Really an awesome place . Good food with good music and really good customer service. Foods are really at affordable price (no non-veg item yet it's well and fine) . The interior, decoration and the standard level has been well maintained . 👌 No matter how many times I visit there I don't get bored at all & that's the best part of The Cafe 9 Feet Under.. Wish you luck

Overall good experience I often visit with my friends and family.. The only thing I miss there is customer service like they come give the notebook and pen and go away.. It's should not be a robotic interaction other than that all is well...

I spend 2 years of my professional life at Kurseong, 2016 to 2018. came here multiple time, their interior work and play equipment always attracted me. Good and testy food (Veg only) and decent ambiance. Kurseong doesn't have much places to have good food and hang up with friends. I strongly recommend this place for your lazy time. This place is towards the TV tower, and you have to move little bit off the road and find this at your right hand.

One of my personal favorites at Kurseong. The basement cafe with a rustic outlook has a wide range of beverages and food. The place also offers a sporadic open mic and play station.
