Alchi Kitchen is a great place for Ladakhi food that matches up to the hype it has. The food was delicious, and the location is gorgeous. We visited in July (peak season) and it was very busy at lunchtimewe and had to wait for nearly an hour to get our table. However, they were really sweet about it and asked us to visit the monastery in the meantime (one of Ladakh's oldest monasteries is in Alchi too).
We order mutton chuttagi, khambir stuffed with chicken and chocolate mokmok. Each dish was great. It is a little pricey but definitely worth the value. I'll definitely visit again next time I visit Ladakh.

Excellent foods in comfortable ambient. Price is a little higher than average but worth every bite! Open kitchen got our interest on how chef cooked those delicious dishes and charming aroma from hot wok made us drool right away. Our favorite dish is Fried rice, aroma is supurb taste is excellent, mutton dumplings also excellent. All dishes served were delicious and changed our perspective about local Indian food guaranteed by Prime minister award. Apricot puree is a must to refresh from long travelling.
We will visit Alchi Kitchen again on our next trip!
Alchi Kitchen, Ladakh - A Culinary Oasis in the Himalayas! 🍽️🏔️
Alchi Kitchen in Ladakh is nothing short of a gastronomic treasure nestled amidst the awe-inspiring Himalayan landscapes.
The apricot juice at Alchi Kitchen is an absolute delight! Sipping on this refreshing nectar feels like a cool breeze. Its natural sweetness and tanginess are perfectly balanced, making it an ideal way to quench your thirst while enjoying the serene Ladakhi surroundings. 🥤
Alchi Kitchen's stuffed veg momos are a culinary masterpiece. Each bite is a burst of flavor as the perfectly cooked and soft momo wrappers give way to the rich and savory vegetable filling.
The stuffed veg khambhir at Alchi Kitchen is a revelation! It's a traditional Ladakhi bread that's generously filled with flavorful ingredients. The combination of textures and spices in this dish is a true gastronomic adventure. Every bite tells a story of Ladakh's rich culinary heritage.
The restaurant's ambiance complements the dining experience perfectly. The serene Ladakhi landscape outside provides a soothing backdrop, while the warm and attentive service adds a touch of hospitality that makes you feel right at home. 🏔️🍴
There local culinary home made and local ingredient are the best. Recommend for stuff with chicken, soup and drink should be apricot juice.
We were treated with some wonderful food earlier last week on our visit from Leh to Kargil. Khambir(veg and egg), veg momos, yerkhandi pulao(veg), apple salad was great!
This restaurant serves authentic ladakhi cuisines. We tasted Veg Khambhir and Tain Tain. It is located right at the entrance of Alchi Monastery.

This is one of the most amazing local restaurants that I have been to. Great food and really amazing ways of working. The chef has a very unique goal in life it seems and the way she helps local women is great to see. The food was exceptionally good. The khambir bread is a must try here , which they give with different kind of stuffings in it. The chutagi is what we had and was quite interesting.
Cute place run by local women. Must definitely try the apricot mint juice. The chicken khambir was delicious and the chutagi(handmade pasta in a light mutton gravy) was something new that I tried. Definitely visit this place.
This place is near the alchi monastery. It has lots of local food to offer. Apricot juice and khambir is a must try. There is a cute little balcony with Mountain View. Overall good experience.
Delicious Ladakhi food, prepared in front of you by amazing local women. We tried the thukpa, momos and khambir, with a glass of apricot juice. Yummy!
The place is cosy, traditional and very welcoming. Definitely worth stopping by and enjoying this wonderful place. The ancient monastery nearby is also breathtaking.

Amazing food, simple flavours, beautiful setting and a celebrated chef working an open kitchen. Must go!
We visited this village only to eat at this place but we felt in love with this place after eating delicious food at this place. Authentic ladakhi food with so many options to choose from.
It's setup is like our home kitchen where you could see a group of ladies cooking hot food for you.
Traditional Ladhaki food ....the khambir, mint flavored apricot juice and chutagi are a must have....its worth the drive away from NH-1 towards alchi to drop in for a meal here
