The best authentic food available at the entry point of lonavla.
It has one of the best ambience of village style dhaba with khaat or bed what u called so. The ambience is to die for with the tasty food in your plate. The best is the special chicken thali or veg thali to try and chicken sukha gravy. Cherry on the cake was the steamed hot modak freshly made n plated on our table.

Nitin's Mummy's Homely Food is a very popular Restaurant in Lonavala. The place has ample parking space.
On our visit for lunch, We had to wait around 45 Mins to get the table. This is the average waiting time considering the weekend & popularity of this place. There is ample seating space available here.
We ordered Special Chicken Thali which had Chicken Gravy, Chicken Rassa, Jawla Chatni, Boiled Egg, Ukadicha Modak, Steamed Rice & Chapatis. The taste was good. The serving quantity was sufficient considering the price.
In Frame -
Special Chicken Thali - 290 Rs.
The ambience is basic but there is definitely the scope of improvement in service.

Mummy's Homely Food was the famous restaurant in lonvala so we planned to visit the place. The interior was casual. They service was good and the staff were kind towards us.
Coming to the food that we ordered:-
1.Chicken Handi:-chicken handi was like typical homemade chicken. The taste was good and the quantity of the gravy was good as per the price.
2.chicken biryani:- chicken biryani taste was not so good. We didn't like it.

Chicken Handi:-4/5
Chicken biryani:-2.5/5
Overall we will give this place 4/5
Just along the Bombay pune expressway is this little dhaba. It has ample amount of seating and a large nursery outside. The food is absolutely exceptional. It is authentic maharashtrian food, full of flavors and spices. It is not at all expensive, intact I would say it's underpriced.
This place is just the kind of getaway hotel I expected. I visited this place during the hyper-monsoon weekend and was lucky enough to be there well in time. The food that I had was Egg Thali, and for some odd reason, they had added Sukat Bombil in it. I'm a pure eggetarian and I was kind of put off with this. But, the taste and quantity of the Thali really made my day. Everything perfect, just like home, living up to its name. I'd definitely recommend this place to all my friends and colleagues who would love a good wholesome meal.
Best ambience!!!!! Humble nature with the customer. The best hotel in lonavala. Many of the celebrity had also visited this hotel. Good and fresh food is served here!!!! #Lonavala #Beauty
Best Maharashtrian food.
Must visit. Food is cooked in a traditional maharashtrian way. And its properly cooked nd Bhakri is very soft nd tasty.
Nitin's Mummy's Homely Food ❤️
I visited this place with my fellow friend to try out the authentic thali here so we decided to order a veg and chicken thali. And I must say it tasted heavenly.
The service was not up to mark since I had to wait for 20 minute for someone to show up to take my order even though the place was empty.
The amabiance of the place was good just the way a dhaba should be.
Overall a good experience excluding the service in the beginning. I will be back here when I decide to visit lonvala again.

Mummy's Homely Food ❤️
Lonavala has many dhaba situated right besides the highways. One of them is mummy's home food.
Easy to locate, easy to reach the place and with spacious ambience, also enough place for parking.
The place was taken care by the locals hence the services were not as expected but the food had the authentic Maharashtrian taste.
Their dinner menu was exquisite and well served, although breakfast menu was little out of place.
Overall the experience was good and I would like to visit this place a third time.
It is recommended to try out tali that is available at this place
Mummy’s Homely Food was perfect end to my road trip in Lonavala.
This place has an amazing concept where the name itself might suggest you, mummy’s homely food here the food has been prepared by Mummy’s,
“Truly Maa k hath k khaane ka swaad hi kuch aur hota hai”.
This place was suggested by a local person, I’m really glad we got an opportunity to witness such place .
It will surely give you authentic dhaba feel, the interior is structured really well.
Ordered their famous Chicken Thali for ₹290.
Thali contained.
Chappati
Steamed Rice.
Chicken sukkha.
Tari( which is added to chicken sukkha)
Soup (Chicken Stock)
Boiled egg
Dry fish

Overall in love with the warmess of the people, you are even allowed to take a small tour of their kitchen.
One must visit atleast once.
Amazing food.
Every penny spent is a worth.
Quality of mutton was 1st grade.
The modak is worth trying...its just superb
Portion size is very good.
Everything is neat, clean and hygienic.
Ample parking space.
Good for a day out trip with Family and Friends.
The theme of restaurant is classical and not too jazzy or artificial.
The feel and the taste is actually like the way it is named ”Mummy’s Homely food plus the Ambiance is really like you at yea Native because of the old classic style of interior
Even the kitchen are open and you will see the way food is being prepared in the same old style
The staff was good and helpful while suggesting the good as per yea group plus the food was served quick and it was very taste and was prepthey way we asked to plus they have priced it nicely its not expensive.
It's located off Mumbai Pune Expressway in Lonavala
Great place that is located just a little distance from the crowded market area of Lonavala. The decor is simple with focus on the main thing...food.
The menu is not extensive and is more suited for traditional food lovers with local Maharashtrian fare in fish and chicken being their speciality.
We ordered surmai and prawns fry along with chicken masala and paired it with freshly made bhakri of rice or jowar served hot on your plate.
The pricing is moderate in sync with the ambience and is perfect for large groups and seemed more suited for dinner than lunch.
Overall good experience and will come again to try their other delicacies.
As the name says it goes with it Nitin's Mummy's Homely Food excellent place to be with family & friends for lunch or dinner to have authentic Homely food.
Courtesy Staff who deals with customer very well suggestions are too good understanding what one is willing to have.
Manager GURU himself takes a review about the food n maintains the place well.

Get yourself some non veg meals along with some gravy and thulp away to glory 🙌
Prices are nominal and the spice is bearable to most. A new place for all you Maharashtraian cuisine lovers - if you are lounging in Lonavala !!
.
Home resembling food specially Seafood - Prawn Fry, Bombil fry, Mutton Handli or Chicken handi !!
One of best place where you can get maa k haath ka khana ..The thalis tastes as delicious as they looks ..surely going to visit this place again😊
Chanced upon this place while driving back to Mumbai from Lonavala. A friend had once mentioned it so decided to stop here for dinner. A big advantage also is the fact that we didn't have to enter Lonavala and waste more time.
Well, we just wanted to quick meal to fill our stomach but oh boy the food here is delicious!! I ordered the special chicken thali and Shachi Sharma ordered the special veg thali. The food is simply delicious, the quantity is perfect if not a bit on the higher side - always a good thing for a foodie ;) the food is cooked completely home style by locals, even the bhakri is cooked on a chullah. The staff is extremely polite and accomodating, giving personal attention. I didn't like the pieces of chicken in my thali and they gave me another serving with a smile with pieces I prefered. From the taste one can tell it's fresh food and not stored reheated food!
The ambience and decor is also something you can't miss. It gives the dhaba experience at dhaba prices with way a super overall dining experience. Glad we decided to sit on the khatiya instead of the table and chairs. Gave the much needed break after a long day to sit back relax and enjoy delicious food! Will definitely recommend and go back the next time we cross it!
Wonderful place. Very tasty food. Had modak for sweet wich wer delicious.. Yummmy. The sitting arrangment we got was of "khaat sitting".. Lovely. Worth a stop!
Nice home made food on a budget, chapatis were really good and hot, chicken malvani and paneer tikka masala was awesome, steamed rice was a bit uncooked, but wholesome marathi taste. Must visit atleast once..!!
I checked reviews for this place that suggested The Mutton Thali is Awesome. I wasn't disappointed at all. The Mutton was so fresh n well cooked. It was out of the world😋 I definitely recommend this place😊

It serves chuli varcha food which is my favourite style. We ordered chicken thali, promplet fry, prawns, dal tadka and jeera rice.
Taste is superb, the sukka chicken had quite a good pieces and rassa was the best , the alni rassa was my favourite. It was thick and perfectly blended spicies.
The main res rassa was a bit spicy and hot made a feel of chuli varcha feel. The bhakari was perfect. But the bundi raita was the Best. Made of sweet curd and crispy bundi. Loved it.
The sukat and rice was ok ok.
The fish was tasty but a bit oily for my liking. The presentation was good. I wish I had taken down more pics but I was hungry.
Dal tadka and jeera rice was good in quantity and taste too.
Must visit.
A must try place if you are in lonavala. We happened to stay at Rhythm resort for a family picnic and this restaurant was at stone throw distance from our resort. So we decided to give it a try for lunch and we were definitely not disappointed. The chicken curry and fish fry was to die for.The menu is pretty small so you won't be confused for options.
This is by far one of the best thalis I have ever eaten. Located on the highway between Bombay and Pune in Lonavala, it is easily accessible. We were a group of 5 people and we tried the mutton and chicken thalis. Would totally recommend the mutton thali. The thali is more than filling. They serve a huge modak along with it as well. We ordered prawns fry and surmai fry as well which was delicious but unfortunately could'nt finish. Totally worth a stopover!
Mutton Thali & Sol kadi, Yahooo! Yum mm. That's what I could gobble up on a working day traveling between mumbai pune. Was lucky, there was hardly anyone in there. Tried to go again on a weekend, the place was overflowing with people, that talks loads about the food.
On a trip to lonavala and you feel tired, hungry and really want to just sit relax and eat home made food in a village themed dhaba - this is your place. We loved the arrangement of khaats 😀. Sat there and enjoyed the home made Chapati, Dal tadka, Aloo sabji, Taak(Buttermilk) and Masala Papad.
Nice Experience and now in my always go to list.. 😀
If you are a maharashtrian spicy food fan, this is a perfect weekend place for you. I was extremely pleased with the kind, polite and friendly staff.
Really homely food! We had Veg as well as Chicken Thali, both super in taste with right amount of spice. Bombil fry and Prawns fry were also tasty. Location is perfect, little away from the center near the Mumbai Pune Expressway with ample parking space.
Awesome is the only word I have to describe this lovely place.........in all the aspects taste service atmosphere.... We had a wonderful experience.
Location : Near pune mumbai highway with a great view
I really like this place since its very open and ventilated. The ambience is okayish but feels good.
Coming to the food we ordered Punjabi food her which had a homely taste and it was really good. If you go here try to order desi food rather than going for punjabi. They serve amazing maharashtrian food!
If you want to enjoy typical village Maharshtrian cuisine in Lonavla this is the place to be. Plus this place does not serve liquor.
We tried the Chicken, Mutton, Veg and Veg special thali. All were true to their name and taste. Totally homely food.
They serve Jowar/Rice bhakri or chapati with the thali which goes great with the taamda paandhra rassa in a non veg thali.
Also tried the crabs sukka and fried prawns. Good to taste.
But the best part here is their Ukadicha Modak. Not to be missed.
Definitely gonna visit again on my next Lonavla trip.
We were a family of eight and this place was a paradise for us. Amazing dhaba style ambience very conveniently located on main road. The best was the food. Thali style food which tasted delicious. Though we felt guilty of over eating but we could not enough of it. I would rate the food an absolute 10 on 10. I would certainly visit the place every time I come to Lonavala.
Homely made typical Maharashtrian food, as name says Mummy’s homely food and it was that. Nicely served food with good quantity and happily made Jowari Bhakri and Pitla:)

Sometimes unknowningly you visit a place and you are left in aww!!
I was on a to and fro journey to Pune from panvel, and was hungry like a pig!
So my girlfriend suggested that we should stop right here as she had heard about this place and let me tell you the place didn't disappoint me. :)
The chicken, mutton thali were totally upto mark; mutton was properly cooked and was as tasty as I expected it to be, full points I must say
Ambience was considerably good considering a road side dabbha.
I will just take a point away as all the mahrashtrian dishes on menu were not available at the time of visit.
It is homely food.. chicken thali is great with Tambada Pandhra Rassa 2 people can eat this one thali. There bhakri size is so big, food is very tasty as I want chulivarchi taste.
Once said "Good food is equal to good mood" and this place serves one of the good quality, village style, homely and tasty food in Lonavala. It's near to Expressway exit of lonavala and 2.5 km from Lonavala railway station. We were in the group of five and ordered our lunch menu in both veg and non veg. The food was really delicious and the quantity was also good. The service was good and on time. This place has a unique vibe and open atmosphere. One more important thing is that it's pocket friendly, so if you are planning to visit this place, make sure you will be damn hungry. Thanks.
Having had enough of all the punjabi and Chinese food, we headed over to this place for some gavran kombdi.
Location: Right on the express highway, a kilometre from the main market. Being rainy season, it was very pleasant here with the cool winds blowing.
Ambiance: It is so much more better than in the pictures. The golden lights looked super pretty in the night. Seating on the upper level is more better. It’s awesome how they have a little separation between tables giving you privacy. We opted for the ‘khat’, which was super comfortable and homely. The place is pretty clean
Food: They do serve Chinese and Punjabi food apart from their forte - maharashtrian cuisine.
Chicken soup: the soup your grandma used to make. Warm and hearty!
Chicken Thali: It was massive, with so many things on the huge thali, we couldn’t understand where to begin. It was huge for two of us to be filled to the brim with an extra bhakri. The modak was spot on and not just an addition to the plate. Boondi raita was spot on. Chicken was so damn well cooked. It was just perfect.
Solkadhi: Perfect end to the meal. Quantity felt a little less though.
Service: They take your orders with a smile on the face and serve within time. That’s all one wants !
This place is a total VFM. All of this costed us mere 415 bucks with our tummy satisfied and hearts filled.
This was an amazing place an I would drive from Mumbai any day to eat here.the food was amazing. Especially the butter chicken. The place was nice and the weather was amazing
If u want to eat fantastic non-veg thali in Lonavala, then this is the place to be. Lip smacking food. Even veg food is good here. Service, however, is slow.
Thanks to zomato for the suggestion
I have been to this place twice..crowded of course because of the good homely cooked food..
Location..it's next to the Mumbai Pune expressway..easy to find on your Google maps..
Ambience..it has that old vintage look..if they change it the place will loose it's charm..
Food...is amazing.. go for prawns fry..surmai fry..they are just too good..u can even try the veg and non veg thali..
Service..is up to the mark..polite..and courteous
If u are in lonavala go for it..be on time or else u have to wait for a table..
Visited here with family, ordered chicken Thali. The name was chicken thali but it had almost everything like mutton, egg, fish and obviously chicken. Also the taste was supper yummy. Quantity and quality both was excellent. If you like chicken thali do visit this place. Pocket friendly with good ambiance.
We had ordered chicken thali and a veg thali. Quantity is too much compared to the price. The food was simple yet very tasty. All the dishes I.e. chicken, gravy, vegetables and daal were very good. As a sweet they had given modak which were very tasty.
This hotel is at the apt location. mumbai pune highway travellers can savour the yummy taste of Nitin’s home made food. Taste is really like home made food. Veg and non veg thali highly recommended. Seating arrangement at the top floor is too good.
The only place in lonavala where you get homely food and Indian ,tandoor and Chinese food. Taste is also very delicious.if you are visiting lonavala you must visit this place.
-:LOCATION & INFO:-
The Old Mumbai-Pune Highway also known as National Highway 4, has way too many Dhabas & Shacks for Food for the Commuters & Tourists alike..Nitin's Mummy's Homely Food is a small Open Air Shack nearing the Valvan Village in Lonavala..It is located just before the Expressway Bridge which passes above the Old Highway..
-:AMBIENCE:-
The Shack is more or less like a normal looking place with old wooden furniture & tables for 6 each..They have an Open Mezzanine Floor too! The Slim Iron Tables & Plastic Chairs make the seating a little comfortable..The Shack provides a good shade to shoo away the Sun rays & the winds do the rest of the cooling work, even though the temperatures during the day are high..
-:FOOD:-
CHICKEN THALI (4.5/5): A full fledged Thaal consisting of Tambda & Pandhra Rassa (Red & White Soup Gravy), One Boiled Egg, One Bowl of Sweet Dahi with Boondi, Ukadi Modak (Dessert), Zhavala (A Dry Fish Salad), A Big Bowl of Spicy Chicken Tikhat Rassa (Chicken Gravy) along with options for fresh Bhakaris or Chapatis & Rice Bowl..
The overall Chicken Thali is absolutely tasty & totally homemade..The Villagers make the most awesome Thali on the whole Mumbai-Pune Highway..
-:BEVERAGES:-
KOKAM KADI (4.5/5): Homemade Kokam Kadi which had a lot of flavour & proved good for cooling down the Spicy effects of the Thali too!
-:SERVICE:-
This isn't a place you can expect so much from, but Service could be a little better & faster..Nonetheless, enjoyed the classic Homemade Thali so would rather give full marks here..

The name itself tells you that the food is at least going to be FRESH. I have been here twice. they have khatiyas, so that you can eat comfortably.
This is cool place for authentic MAHARASHTRIAN food . They are mainly famous for there thalis. Its located on old Mumbai-Pune highway. Parking is available. Staff is good.
It has got a desi vibe to it. NOT TOO FANCY but good food. Definitely a must visit.
Like it’s name, Pretty homely food and decent ambience. It’s a typical Highway dhaba kind of place. They have varieties of Thali options, both veg and non veg. Recommended
A homely food destination. Maharashtrian special. If you are travelling pune-mumbai-pune , you should not miss this destination.
Weekend's are at high rush.
Its a awesome place for an authentic maharashtrian dine.We liked it for its simplicity and authenticity. Rustic looks reminds of the olden days. We ordered special mutton thali...which had authentic sukha mutton, mutton rassa, bombil fry, soup, curd, rice and chapatti. The chapatti was soft and could melt in your mouth....the sweet dish: modak was enough to remind of that vintage feeling of having a sweet dish. The place has simple yet decent seating, ample parking, though some cleanliness is warranted. Their kitchen too was well maintained and could justify their slow service.....as they want their customers to get piping hot thalies. Overall a great place to have decent, tasty, budget thali!
Ambiance, a view of the kitchen, service, parking and the overall flavour of the food pushed me to give this spot a top rating. Maharashtra needs more spots like this. The government should step in a support such restauranteurs efforts before McDonalds & Pizza Hut take over and turn us into an obese people. We had the Mutton Special Thali and it was super. I asked for a special masala papad and a side serving of the thecha (spicy chilli paste), it was brought to me promptly. A quick peek into the gigantic kitchen and all I could see was four ladies preparing all the grub, a super sight to see just before being seated. Nothing like having some bhakris and meat prepared by the indigenous people. If you are headed in to Lonavla, I highly recommend stopping here - its convenient in all aspects, seek it out, its worth it.
The bamboo structure and the khatiyas give this place a full rustic feel. Located on the main Lonavla road, its away from the chaos & the hustle bustle of the main Lonavla market. This location makes it easy to find yet peaceful. And also they have a lot of parking.
Must order a thali. We got the mutton sukha thali. The mutton was perfectly cooked and the bhakri was nice and soft. The best was the Modak in the end.
Must order the thetcha. Its nice and spicy. Their medium spicy for super spicy for me, but I loved it.
Would go back to try the other thalis because they definitely cook with the local fresh veggies. We could taste the freshness!
So so so we were so hungry as our hotel was lil far from the Main Market. After walking like 1.5 km we finally got a Rick🤷♀️😪. We asked Rick wala to take us to some good Resto. He showed us 3-4 and our eyes 👀 got on this one. As their outside area had Bunks(charpai)🤩 and That desi feel of dhaba. U can’t afford to loose that chance specially when u kno u generally don’t get to feel that Dhaba ambience in ur City(Mumbai).
We were so bzy in ourselves that I forgot to click pix of the ambience 🙈
And foooood😍
We were 4. 2 vegetarians n 2 non vegetarians. So we ordered one veg n one nonveg thali. Each thali had enough portion for 2.😄 Food was quiet yummy 😋
Rustic ambiance with khatiyas, rustic local food, very reasonably priced. We ordered a vegetarian thali and some dishes from a-la-carte, viz. Jawar bhakri, thecha, pithla, etc. Everything tasted good. Thali has everything and Modak as sweet dish was a pleasant surprise. Overall a good experience!
Went twice to Nitin Mummy's homely food. Really loved the food, specially the mutton was so soft and tender. Loved the soft chapatis. Cost is also within budget. Value for price.
Yummy home cooked type food, with a rustic, natural ambience. Tried the chicken thali, bhakri was good. Hygiene should be improved drastically. Service too was very slow considering there were only 4 customers.
This is our Third Visit to Nitin's Mummy's Homely Food in Lonavala and we have not been disappointed at all. Their Special Mutton Thali continues to be very good with a Lovely Mutton Soup, Mutton Sukka, Mutton Rassa, Boiled Egg, Dried Prawns Kismur and Salad with Chapati or Rice/Jowar Bhakri and Steamed Rice along with Boondi Raita & Steamed Sweet Modak for Dessert. Sumptuous, Freshly Made, Very Tasty and Affordably Priced as well. Only the Rice Bhakri was not well made this time & on taking it up, was taken inside the Kitchen to give a feedback to the Ladies making the Bhakris there. Their Seafood is also always Fresh & Tasty. The place is basic, but neat & clean with Seating on the Ground & First Floors. The Kitchen is Neat & Clean as well, which is very good. There is ample Parking available in the compound & the Toilets are also quite clean & usable. The place is very popular, so you may need to wait a while to be seated on weekends when Lonavala is packed, but it is definitely worth the wait. Continues to be on my Must Visit List each time that I need to have Lunch or Dinner in Lonavala.
