It had right balance of sprouts, oil & spices topped up with chawana/farsan, onion, tomatoes & lemon. Accompanied with scrumptious Green chilly theccha (Chutney) turned out to be the star of the dish. You can ask for extra 'Tari' if your taste buds can handle the extra spiciness.

Crispy & tasty onion bhajiyas fried to the perfection served hot with green chutney.
Deserves place in the list of Guilty Pleasures.

I cannot even begin to explain what feeling this Misal Pav gave me. We were visiting Lonavla and ate at yum places but little did we expect this tiny joint in the bylanes of nowhere would end up becoming the highlight of the trip!
The scrumptious 'teekhat' thecha was the hero of the dish. Well, yeah, obviously so was the misal but that thecha complemented the whole misal and when my nose started watering, that's when I knew this was a perfect match in heaven, right there, in front of me.
My friend and I promised ourselves to come back again, all the way from Mumbai to have it again because unfortunately we were stuffed and couldn't eat more than a plate. But guess who's coming back empty stomach to devour their whole menu?

I am someone who doesn't like misal at all. I always found it very oily, way too spicy and super unhealthy but this Misal is very different. It has a very unique taste and right balance of oil,spices,farsan, sprouts and onions.

मिसळ बरोबर आम्ही ताक आणि सोलकढी मागवली. या दोघांनी आमची मने तृप्त केलीत.
* कांदा भजी - भजी खुसखुशीत, खमंग आणि गरम होती, इथल्या भजी नि आमची मनं जिंकली. first class भजी होती.

I always get amazed by the places we visit, not only by the place we are riding to and but also by the place we have our breakfast at.So this time we went to Tungarli Lake which is in Lonavala. Our breakfast destination this time is truly a hidden gem. Buvachi Misal, as the place is called, is a small place exactly behind Fariyas Resort.
This place has a seating for not more than 30-35 people at a time which on weekends gets completely full.
What we ate:
Misal Pav: Lentils layered with onions, tomatoes, coriander topped with Farsan and spicy curry poured over. Served with Pav, onion and techa (Crushed green chilli with some seasoning ). To be honest very few places know to make good Misal and this place nailed it.❤️
Batata Vada with Pav: Stuffing made out of potato, ginger garlic paste, green chilly crush, seasoned with Cumin seeds, Mustard seeds and Asafoetida. Dipped in batter of gram flour with pinch of salt, baking soda and salt. And deep fried. Vada was cooked to perfection and had most amazing taste. Served with Pav and techa.😍

Tried this place during my weekend stay at Lonavla as it was recommended to me by a friend. Small place, with not more than 35-36 seats. Is typically full on a Sunday and you need to wait a bit.
Misal was good. Tasty, moderately spicy, good mixture of sprouts, cut onions and tomato and farsaan.
Service: Fast and Prompt.
Thing to remember: There is self service here. You have to collect your order from the counter.
Other things you must have with your misal are Tea, Buttermilk.
Must try: Kanda Bhaji which is accompanied with a Green chilly thecha.
If it's Lonavala, then it has to be buvachi misal.
The stay is just in complete without it.

You also get Jain Misal pav that is also as good as regular.

I had been to this place for the second time in six months, it is located in a bit secluded but posh area i.e. behind fariyas hotel. It's a family driven eating joint and a lady operates the kitchen which leaves no room for error and lovely food in making. They serve misal primarily but they also make hot hot Batata vadas, mixed bhaji etc. A place gets a famous tag only when locals enjoy the food there, the people go here and enjoy the misal.
They serve matki misal which is my favourite personally and they topped it with tomatoes and onions. They also give the onions and tomatoes separately along with thecha, the red chilli thecha is bearable on the spiciness and isn't very spicy. Had ordered their Butter misal it had a big dollop of butter on the top, loved the place, Loved the misal and loved the vibe of the place gives a very homely feeling.
Must have it for misal lovers whenever you are in Lonavala. My favourite place whenever I feel hungry in the morning for breakfast. Visiting this place since decade. Small place. Nice staff. Have to be in a queue as it’s always crowded.

Order according to your taste but Medium Flavour is Far better then all types.
This place is away from the highway, tucked behind Fariyas hotel and yet so popular. There isn't too many items on the menu, serves only Misal, Vada Pav, Bhaji in a small family run outlet. I only tried the Misal and it deserves all the high ratings, quite different from what you get in Mumbai
There is no doubt that in last decade or so Misal has gained immense popularity with Misal joints mushrooming everywhere in and around Pune .But not every Misal is liked. There are people who judge Misal on its spiciness, there are some who like Farsaan while there are some who believe real Misal has sprouts ( matki usal ) , Pohe, Potato and some amount of Farsaan. And then there is a debate whether Puneri Misal is better or Kolhapuri .
My Lonavla trip is always incomplete without visit to BUVACHI MISAL.
Being a big fan of Misal, I am always in search of great Misal and never miss a chance to try new joints for same.Though I love spicy Misal like Kata-Kirr, Buvachi Misal though not being too spicy strike the balance of spiciness with the Farsan and Sprouts. Buvachi Misal sells three kinds of misal – spicy, medium-spicy and normal. I would recommend you try the spicy misal pav which feels like a burst of flavours in the mouth. The red curry is quite thick and spicy and has a little crunch that comes from toppings such as chivda and onions. The misal is served with buttered pav and thecha, which is basically a paste-like condiment made of green chillies and garlic. Buvachi’s kanda bhajji and vada pav are also nice if you’re in for something light and non-spicy. The place also sells special Jain misal pav every Saturday and Sunday.

Buvachi Misal is located near Fariyas Hotel in Lonavala and is a favorite spot among all the people travelling to Lonavala. The restaurant has a pretty short and simple menu and they serve Misal, Kanda Bhaji, Vada Pav and Tea.
Misal[ Rs 50]: The misal which had good quality farsan, along with sprouts (matki), chopped onion and tomatoes, the rassa was thin in consistency and medium spicy, it was served with fresh and soft pav, the rasaa is not so flavorful and is mild on spice levels, they serve a green chilli thecha along with the misal and if you add the same to misal it enhances the flavor of the misal.
Overall: Service was quick in spite of heavy rush on Sunday and restaurant was hygienic, quantity of misal is less as compared to what we get in most of the misal outlets. It was a very short visit and next time I would definitely like to explore the Kanda Bhaji and Vada Pav as well. A decent option to try if you are in Lonavala.

This place proves the proverb, "The pearl is always hidden secretly.". Since, this place is hidden in a secluded area in Lonavala. But, the misal pav here is just the tastiest misal pav I've ever had. All spicy food eaters will love it. Also, I love the way of serving the Misal gravy in the small buckets. The misal pav here goes good with the spicy green chilli thecha and onions served with the misal pav.
After listening so much about this place, finally went here to try misal pav & some bhajiyas. One of the best misals I have had, without any doubt. We totally love this small place. They serve unlimited RASSA and freshly chopped onion tomato with the Misal. In addition to this, they also serve a green chilly chutney along with the misal for people who love "zhanzhanit" misal. The place is open from 9am to 7.30pm.

Buvachi Missal is a hidden gem of sorts, located in the quiet vicinity of Fariyas Resort, this place has a very simple menu, Missal, Kanda Bhajji, Vada Pav and Tea. Even though they have simple and limited menu, the crowds they attract range from all walks of life. The limited menu has made them good at what they do. The food caters to everyone's taste.
The Eponymous Missal
If you have come here for some Missal, this is a good place for that, if your want is the spicy kind, then you can alter it's taste with their spicy green chilli thecha, made in house. It's a pretty fierce flavour, anyone with a want for that extra spice is welcome to try it.
Kanda Bhajji
The Bhajji is perfect. The right amount of onion to batter consistency. The Bhajji is a process, new batches are taken out every few minutes. The result is piping hot, fresh, slightly sweet (caramelized onions) Bhajji.

Small place in the interiors, a walking distance from Fariyas this place has become a famous spot for locals and tourists alike. Their signature dish - Misal, was spicy for my taste and with the added red gravy given generously it can become more spicier. Other specialties the Vada pav and the bhaji was also very good. The place has outdoor seating as well as interior seating and normal interiors for a small place. The staff are very helpful and quick to serve. To wash down the spiciness they have variety of branded ice-creams. Overall a nice place for the famous local snack -Misal. Surely should be on your list if you visit Lonavala.

An authentic missal joint we found out of nowhere. Located a lil inside from highway this outlet serves best of missal in the entire vicinity. Its very cost effective and has missal with regular and spicy rassa options. They also serve vada and kanda bhaji which are very crisp and goes very well with breakfast. Thr staff is very humble while service can be sometimes time consuming. They have inside seating as well as an open area
If you crave for some spicy Misal - some really spicy misal that will force you shed tears or sweat on ur forhead - this is the place to be.
We friends were enjoying our weekend in Lonavla and decided to visit this place. Its interiors are basic. They are functional from morning 10ish to 7 in evening and you will notice this place full always. Atleast we found this place full when we visited.
What we tried :
1. Misal Pav (ask for extra spicy)
2. Batata Vada
3. Kanda Bhaji
4. Chaas
This place is famous for its Misal, so you should dedinitely try it. We couldnt stop ourselves from order Kanda Bhaji as its aroma was tooo tempting. Batata Vada was good. Chaas became a must order as the misal curry was so spicy I literally started sweating after finishing half way down the plate.

On sunday while returning from our lonavla trip we decided to stop before food court at khopoli for a quick snack and on searching we came up to this place.Well an adversary warning ,google maps just plays up and will take you on the other side.Ensure u take a left from fariyas hotel to reach this place.The place is quite small and traditional wood planks tables like our tea centres,but nowhere this is a small place when it comes on taste.They have an outdoor and indoor section.
We started off by ordering
Kanda bhaji
The kanda bhaji was quite good and especially the thecha was amazing . A must try
Tikat misal
The missal served here was of moog and the tari was quite amazing ,it had boiled potatoes ,onion tomato,moog misaal topped with slice of lemon
The tickat variant of missal is a must try and not for faint hearted.
Batata wada
Superb ! The best wada in lonavla is served here and u need to have this whenever u visit this place .The potatoe stuffing was amazing and an usp for this .
Verdict:Buvachi misal is a must try whenever you visit lonavla , from misal to wada to kanda bhaji was amazing.The service was quite fast ..Happy hogging
I’m not a fan of spicy 🌶 food 🥘 though, but I’d say, I enjoyed my Misal. The guy suggested to have hot and fresh batata vada along. Man, I began to sweat, but then that is given right? It is either about the food or you? Answer this and go ahead.
Finally worth the wait!
This place is on zomato. Its been years i am hogging here, located just nearby Fariyas resorts, Lonavala, its is a must visit place if you're passing by. During the onsoons, you can see a fleet of vehicles parked infront of this small outlet just to try its iconic Misalpav.
They also have wada pav but its the misal pav thats the show stealer.
You DONT have to ask for extra rassa (gravy).
Also be prepared for the spicy thecha, it can bring tears in your eyes...Its that spicy.
Complete value for money
Definitely a 4 from my side.

Along with your tongue, your entire body might also feel burning sensation.
We got 4 Misal (Parcel) for 4 of us. And none could finish entire Misal. Hoped to have 2 Pav extra, but the spicy Misal lead us to have just what is enough for the Misal.
Along with Misal, they also serve you Thecha (A blend of Green Chillies, coriander and lot many things). Basically it is a spicy grated green chilly chutney. After eating the 1st bite, we we're just imagining why did they give Thecha at all? Was it even required? But still the Chull in me got me to eat some good bites of Thecha. To my surprise, definitely not as spicy as the Misal.
Though it being a very spicy Misal, we had great fun having it. Definitely in the race of being the best Misal😋. Not a must tri'esh place. But more like, ye Shhadi ka Laddoo hai, Nahi khaya to bhi pachtaoge, and khaya to bhi pachtaoge. It is fun to have😜
Bhuva chi misal serves typical Maharastrain snacks and go to place for Breakfast when you are in Lonavala.
This time we tried :-
- Misal : We tried two different flavors one regular and other which was Spicy.
I liked regular one which has fresh farsan and full of flavors rassa served with onion + tomato + Spicy thecha and Pav.
If you love spicy should definitely not miss thecha they serve.
- Bhaji : were serve hot , being bit oily still they are worth trying.
- Vada Pav : was Hot and well made too.
Overall : Worth A visit for Breakfast/snacks.

As Sunday's have become mandatory Misal post's day I had to post this. I've recently visited Buvachi misal behind fariyad resort in Lonavala and the taste of misal literally blown my mind.
I've tried most of the misal from Pune which includes Newale, Ramnath , katakirr which as per me are the spiciest so far but this one was totally different. Misal really had a different taste level which really made me write about it.
Pretty decent restaurant which we mostly see on highways or in city area but because of popularity they've extended it behind.
Coming to the misal , it was tasty they've used tomatoes in it which made it juicy and potatoes to make the misal thick which did hold all the things together. The most important part was mirchi thecha , Yes they use mirchi thecha in their misal and in tarri which gave it a strong spicy kick at the end of every bite which remains on your tongue for a long time.The spicy kick of thecha is the main thing which impressed me because most of the misal have spicy masala which gave it an extremely spicy taste. The thecha really changed the entire taste of misal and we enjoyed it thoroughly.
This misal is really a thing which you can not miss if you're visiting Lonavala and I'll highly doubt that you won't like it.

The Missal comes in two options - Regular and with 'Tari' the oil based spicy gravy for spicy food lovers. They also make good Bhajjis (Pakodas) served with and without Pav. Perfect place for a rainy day and/or winters.

One of the most iconic places in Lonavala is Buvachi Misal.
The misal pav fully deserves its fame. It was amazing!! They give you the options in the level of spice in your misal, so you can eat according to your own preferences.
Moving in to ambience, there is nothing out of ordinary. Seating space is a little less here, so may have to wait for seats in the rush hour. Service is fast.
This place deserves a visit from every foodie out to try quality food. So next time in Lonavala, please pay a visit here. You won't regret it.

Thank god not many people know of it. Awesome food. The misal Pav was great and the kanda bhaji was probably the best ones I’ve had for a v long time.
Hidden gem in Lonavala. One of the best missal available there. Their bhajjiyas are great too. Service is prompt and friendly. They do a limited menu but do it very well. Must visit if you're looking for good maharashtrian missal for breakfast when in lonavala.
A must go for Lonavala travelers. Breakfast at Buvachi misal will make your day. Especially during monsoon. We had Misal pav, Kanda bhaji, and Vada pav. Don't miss the green chatni. It's chilly hot. It's a simple Canteen. Value for money.
Spicy!! If you love spicy food, this is as spicy as it gets. The service takes time as there is always a queue. Prices are very reasonable though. Definitely worth a try.
Short list of maharashtrian misal and snacks. Jain options available. It can get crowded as place is of moderate area. Good food and service is reasonably fast. Try misal, bhaji, solkadhi. Vada pav is good too. Surrounding of place is peaceful and out of traffic area. It closes by 7.30 pm so plan accordingly.
Really awesome misal pav, must have breakfast when you travel to lonavala. Onion bhaji and potato vada is also very very nice. I also loved the tea.
Its a famous place for misal pav in lonavala. We did a morning bike ride from Mumbai to lonavala to have this breakfast and it didn't disappoint us.. Misal was yum and we tried cheese and butter misal both were good. Onion bhaji was really good. Also do try Shengon chi kachori, it was really tasty..
They don't have a lot of varieties in misal but the classic misal is tasty. The vadapav also is a must try. We also had coffee here which was delicious.
So beautiful yet so simple. This place serves the best Maharashtrian food in Lonawala. A beautiful place is like the gateway Jannat to put in poetic terms. The food simple titillates your taste buds and the filtered coffee puts even the best branded coffee on the market to shame. This place has grown through the years it's charm is it's simplicity, it's magic is it's foid and drink. All home made food served by friendly earnest people.

This place is known for its misal pav and its variety. It was spicy but not as delicious as it appears, at least not for me. Yes other things like kandha(onion) bhajiya and vada were tasty..
