One of the oldest chaat point in lucknow.
Light on the stomach. Exactly as chaat should be.
They serve you and the gentry of eluwgent people you ll find there.. Really you ll love to visit again and again. Be sure to reach before 7pm else nobody can ensure the availability of chat.. People finish too early and they are the King of Chat.. Maintained their quality, don't believe to increase the numbers.
The best chaat in the entire world. Nothing comes close to its authentic taste. It is always overcrowded with the loyal customers. I have been there for the past 25 years and never ever heard a bad word about it.
Had papdi chat and dahi Batashe at one of the iconic place in hazratganj
PAPDI CHAT : This one is fully loaded with fresh curd and red chutney. The papdi was so flavourful and crispy topped with spicy aloo.
Although we made ours less spicy but the one they originally serve contains dry ginger powder to make it tasteful and spicy. Whole chat is then served with green coriander and dry spices
Dahi Batashe : found it much overpriced like just 4 Batashe for rs 45. And their taste was like very normal one can have for rs 10.
King of chaat is 75 years old shop and it has been 40 years they've shifted to hazratganj. Although I find this a bit overpriced but still If you are in hazratganj then this place is a must try.
They have the best golgappas in town. If you really want to challenge your taste buds, have it only with spicy water. Even the aloo tikki is quite good. We order from here quite often. The place is easy to locate too but dont be surprised to find it crowded most of the times.
It is just a shack, mannned by three men. But the pani puri and the alu tkki are obviously a draw. They were indeed delicious, and we wolfed them down. Everyone in Lucknow stops here, we shared the space by the roadside, with policemen and a politician, families and college students. Food, good food, is a great leveller.
If you are a chaat lover then you must visit king of chat in hazratgunj because the quality and taste of its chat is way better than other. its famous for it delicious chaat in the Lucknow
Want to try the best Chaat and gol gappe in Lucknow? You're ought to visit this place. The very famous and very old King of Chaat is a small stall situated in hazratganj where you can find scrumptious chaats. P.S. you might have to wait for your turn as the queue is always long there.
must try King of Chat at Motimahal Marg Lucknow. One of the best in India ! Palak patta to die for !best chat in city of nawabs best pani puri and kesar gujiya and much more 🤗
If you want refreshing gol gappe on the way to hazratganj, then this place is definately for you :)
But I had only gol gappas here...dont know about other stuffs :( but yeah the bowl in which they serve is different from others and looks cool..
Love it ❤ about the place under fresh air and love to chaat batashe more king ki chat best in Lucknow always be there love to I always came to here to have a chats and batashe
The best golgappas and chaat in the city. When in Lucknow, you've got to try this. It'll never disappoint you.
Other than the golgappas, one must have the matar chaat and the aloo chaat. Also, don't forget to try out the dahi golgappas here.
I have been visiting this place since childhood and always the chat varieties always make me feel joyful. This place is the favorite destination for chat lovers in the Lucknow. If you are a chaat lover or ever feel like having chaat in Lucknow, I would definitely recommend you the king of Chaat.
If you want to enjoy street food in the real street way, this is just the place. Because you are literally sitting on the roadside. the pani batashaa is not that gr8 and you can find better options nearby, but in winters check this place out for the Nagar, aloo tikki and special palak chaat. An evening with friends or family is a good idea here.
With the question in mind, thus lucknow also serve the best chaat because that is for sure the city cannot be beat for its food but chat??🤔... Being delhi people we know the real feel and flavour of chaat...
The question turns into the experience when we reach this place which is nicley made on the road side with proper seating, maintained hygiene and cleaning shows yes they serve something very good here.
As we started with golgappe which I guess named as batasha in lucknow followed by kesar gujiya and matar ki chaat. Batasha as usual nice stuffed with mash of potato and chutneys dipped into the spiced water. Kesar gujiya is a must try derivative of dahi bhalla which has bhalla serve along with sweet kesar flavour yoghurt and matar is chaat again a derivative of aloo chaat basically spice and mash peas patty serve with lemon drizzle and some crispy on top.🍴
Overall a nice change on palate specially when you try something new from normal atleast ones.
Taste of the food definitely take 4/5......
A highly recommended place to try in hazartganj .. 😎
But please make sure that they only open for 4hours from 5 pm to 9 pm......🙄🙄😀😀
As they mentioned king of Chaat
They probably proves
The Chaat is good in taste and the matar is also yummy
U can go for batasha and dahi bhalla... That was so good..
But Little crowded
Kings of chat ! I think they have best Golgappa in Lucknow well if we are talking about tikkis so go for their matter tikki ... Simply best ..!
A nostalgic place which serves the same old traditional taste of Chaat that it use to in my childhood days. If you actually want to spark your taste buds then do pay a visit here. it will definitely be a great and remembering experience!
this is some 70+ years old chat point of lucknow, My father who is 67 years old use to visit here during his college days:P
there paani k batase are awsome and tikki is very tasty.. Must try for all foodies who have crazyness for chat in lucknow
u might need to park your car properly before having chat here. as its no parking zone... I was almost got fined ....what to say chat is too tasty here :P
Loved the Aloo Tikki Here. One of the oldest and best in town. The matar chat also is delicious. And u will crave for more pani k batashe when u started eating it.
Would definitely recommend this place for a taste of local chaat. However, go there early by 7:00 p.m. atleast so you are assured of a full menu. By the time we went at 8:00 p.m. most of the stuff was over and only aloo tikkis and pani puri was available, which was very tasty.
These people produce awesome , finger licking and mouth watering chat, dahi bhalla, and pani puri....
Everything is just incredible.
And services is on 1st come 1st serve basis...
Amazing place for Having Chat and we always go there once a month and have been going there from ages. There quality has never changed. Go on time to enjoy.
Totally serving justice to it's name, King Of Chat is definitely a must visit for anybody, especially Non-Lucknowites. One of the best places in town for you to enjoy delicious Gol-Gappe (rather, Paani ke Batashe) and Aloo ki Tikki. It simultaneously give you the joy of appetizing Chaat and the swag of street food consumption without having to compromise with the hygiene.
Truely the King of Chaat...Located in Hazratganj is one of the oldest and finest chaat outlet in the city of Nawaabs. What I love most is it's taste and aroma...which couldn't be found in any other place. It still offers golgappa in handmade natural leaves plate which add more taste to it. Quite reasonable price too.....

Serving one of the tastiest chats in the city. The oldest chaat centre in the city. You have to try it out if u still have'nt. The taste is rare to get.
Really amazing chat . The normal papadi chat consists of 3 layers , the curd which is served with the chaat is really creamy and has a really good consistency . By far the best chaat I've had . We had the golgappas too (10 bucks a plate ) they were really nice and different , the aloo was mashed instead of the usual big pieces of aloo in the gol gappa .
It is different in style of chat but not as good as it is advertized. Just normal. Gol gappas are really tasty and crunchy water tastes refteshing. It should rather be called king of gol gappas.
Good place to get the real taste of golgappas and aloo chat in Lucknow.
Went their after ages, gol gappas were very nice, the water almost perfect.
The chat is also decent.
The person their helps u in parking your two wheeler in the foot path, however its pretty risky for people with four wheelers to park their car on the main road.
It is very nice ... Chat is fab just need to improve thier location and cleanliness
apparently it is very famous chat shop because it is sitauted in Hazratganj but i didn’t find the chat so delicious and its not justify its price 70 rupees is very expensive . there are dozen of chat shops in Lucknow which gives better quality under 50 rupees. if price was 50 then i could feel content. But the place and ambiance is very amiable open street seating in evening was worth to come.
Pani k batashe full on taste.
They have many options of chaat..
They call aloo tikki as aloo tikiya, they have dahi bada also..it is an old shop in Lucknow which was launched before India got freedom. They have tagline of Azaadi k peheli ki dukaan.
I have been a loyal customer. It's an old fashioned authentic UP chat. Puchka with matar and not aloo, tikki with chatni and dahi. Matar with nibu are my all time favourite.
Taste is Ok Ok. Batashe is not that crunchy, feels like they have some moisture even though in these hot condition.
Serving style is good, no cluttering.
ONLY CASH
I would say, go visit and try
I had an incredible experience at the chaat store! The flavors were truly authentic and mouthwatering. The variety of chaat options was extensive, and each dish was bursting with flavor. The prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. The store had a cozy ambiance, and the staff was friendly and attentive. I can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious chaat offerings. Highly recommended for all chaat lovers!
King of Chaat in Lucknow lives up to its name, delivering an exceptional and flavorful chaat experience that's among the city's finest. The taste is undeniably one of the best, drawing locals and visitors alike. The drawback of accepting only cash payments might inconvenience some customers, but the exceptional taste makes it worth the extra effort. The limited seating area doesn't diminish the experience, and the shop's commitment to hygiene adds to its appeal. As one of the oldest chaat shops in Lucknow, it has built a legacy of flavor and quality that continues to stand the test of time.
The pani batashe are nice, specially during summers when they make water of raw mango.
Dahi puri and Tikka is also good but prices are little on higher side
Definitely not out of the world but pretty good I’d say. Tasteful flavour if you know what to order. Surely there’s a premium for being a heritage store. I like aloo tikki with dahi chutney. adrak flavour. Dahi puri is good too. While I am there I also try Pani Puri as a ritual before chaat though not particularly fond of it. I like their flavour better than Royal cafe which seems too rich or Shukla Chaat which is sweeter.
Delicious but little expensive
Pani Puri was not good
Everything was perfect here. From the food to the service to the location. Cleanliness was quite high. EXCELLENT PLACE .
