Ordered half Mutton band gosht ..it had thick gravy with 2 good mutton pieces . Taste wise it was 7/10 . Will explore keema, brain and stew next time.

Ordered Mutton Galawati Kebab, Mutton Korma, Mutton Biryani, Bund Gosht and Seekh Kebab. All the items were good, other than the Korma which was slate grey in color and not visually appealing. It's taste was average. Rest of items were tasty. Packing needs improvement; the kebabs were all joined and messed up together in the cardboard box. All in all, tasty, pocket friendly and prompt delivery. Certainly recommended.

Situated in a narrow lane simply opposite the renowned Tunday Kababi in Aminabad, Alamgir is probably the most seasoned restaurant serving credible Mughlai food in Lucknow. In any occasion when you long for some bonafide "Lucknawi" food, this spot is certainly a must attempt.
Their most impeccable dish is Mutton Qorma. Their Mutton Qorma is the best amongst all other Qormas we have ever tried in our life. The mutton pieces are succulent , juicy and the gravy is appropriately spiced without being heavy on the stomach. The dish goes well with the roomali rotis or flaky Kulchas which are crisp outside and soft inside.The Kulchas also have a tinge of sweetness in them. A word of caution from our side is that if you want to try out this dish, you should visit the place in the afternoon as the dish tends to finish by 5 in the evening..
We also tried their Bandgosht which is undoubtedly one of their most well prepared dishes. The mutton piece was delicate to the point that it was tumbling off the bone effectively and the gravy was somewhat spicy with a predominant turmeric taste. This is a “must try” dish that shouldn't be missed at any expense.
Some of our other recommended dishes were mutton biryani, boti kabab, roasted chicken and shahi tukda . We likewise tried their mutton nihari which was not up to the mark with being excessively oily and overly spiced.
The restaurant is divided into two segments, one for single guys and the other for families. The segment for single guys is quite shabby. The staff was friendly and were ready to help in any capacity. They likewise have a fancy eatery by the name of "Mughal Zaika" simply outside the back street serving similar dishes at slightly higher prices.

So my brother came from Ghaziabad and he was craving for some authentic lucknawi Khana from old Lucknow. I suggested to try this old food joint and believe me the trying was worth it. We got-
1. Mutton seekh kebab- they were yum and the quantity was also amazing.
2. Mutton Nihari- this was so delicious, I loved the flavours and the mutton was also nice and tender.
3. Roasted chicken- they served the whole roasted chicken and it was amazing. The authentic lucknawi taste. The chicken was juicy and spices were so balanced.
4. Mutton biryani- the real Awadhi biryani. Amazing flavours and yum in taste. Must try.
5. Paratha and rumali roti- the paratha was crisp and soft too and the roti was also soft.
I got all this in Rs. 692, so much value for money. Tummy full and tastebuds satisfied!!!!

One of the best biryani in lucknow... Still maintaining their quality and quantity...a half biryani is enough for one people. Also a must try chicken masala with nice fresh parathas.

Best place for food in Aminabad. Restaurant is in a very small street just in front of tundey kababi. A small sitting arrangement you can go with family also because sitting arrangement for family is separate. Best dish is Mutton keema and chicken malai tikka.
Awesome food. In the vicinity of Tunday, Alamgir has created their own name that itself is the testament to their quality and taste. Had mutton bandgosht, galawat ke kebab, kulcha, mutton biryani. Everything was upto the mark. Kulcha could have been a bit more better, I guess the corners were uncooked, but rest everything was just perfect. Even the kababs were too good matching upto the standards of other outlets. Must visit this place.

Even though Alamgir is located in a very crowded area of Lucknow, this place is sometimes hard to find. Many people visiting Aminabad for some authentic Mughlai/Lucknowi food, usually go to the big famous globally recognized restaurants(you all know what i am reffering to), and this place is often overlooked. It is advisable to take your own two wheeler and park it somewhere nearby. Getting through in a car can get a little tricky. You can also take an e-rickshaw from Hazratganj or any less crowded nearby location. Use google maps.
There is a seperate family seating area.

 -- All the curry items preparation is very homely. You feel like eating what the Nawabs or the Kings must be eating on regular basis. Nothing fancy yet very satisfying. Each gravy dish is extremely different. You will taste spices which I bet you would have not tasted even at the most fancy restaurants. It took me a while to try all the recipes and there is no way i can pick a favourite now.

All brilliant and tastes just like how you have read in the Mughlai recipe books.
You get soft Galawatis, bitter shaami and slightly chewy seekh - Just like how they are supposed to be. They have taken into consideration not just the taste but also the texture of the dishes pretty well.
Biryani
They don't serve the best Biryani in Lucknow but its better than 90% of the Biryani serving places in India(sounds like an exaggeration but believe me, it not!).

Shahi Tukda - Kheer
Their sweets are to die for. Shahi Tukda has a Great texture - Brilliant taste - beautiful aroma.

This place is situated opposite the famous Tundey Kababi in a lane.
The sitting arrangements are good I expected it to be a bit congested but inside the restaurant the interiors were nicely lot and the tables clean , there were a lot of tables , I went in the evening so the restaurant was almost empty.
The staff was very friendly , our orders were quickly taken and quickly served , one of the fastest service I have got in a famous non veg restaurant . I ordered a Masala Chicken which was one of the best chickens I have had in many days . With a thick gravy and bit sour taste this dish was great. The roomali roti and the parathas were served hot. The chicken biryani was good too. There were big chicken pieces with nice flavours of spices served with the gravy of the chicken masala . The raita was not upto the mark though , it could have been better.

It's always great culinary experience while dining at this place. Visited this place today after a very long time. Ordered Nihari & Kulcha with roasted chicken. The Nihari was excellent with the perfect texture & Kulcha were baked to the perfection.
The place is tiny and dingy. Stag parties can only access their open air restaurant. If you have some female members in your group you will be able to sit in their "family restaurant" which is a tiny, and enclosed but better than the open air restaurant. But the food is absolutely amazing! The best dish was the mutton nihari..it's full of ghee fragrant and delicious. The Roghan Josh and paya was also good, but not as good as the nihari. Of course we had this with their kulcha, which is very different from the kulcha you have in Delhi. Mind you, food is rich and full of oil and ghee, but don't miss this experience if you visit Lucknow. And it's so easy on the pocket :)
Want to try something different from same old kebabs paratha and biryani, well this place is one to go for.
I heard of Bandh Gosht and came down searching in the lane of Tunday Kababi, hard to locate as it's in a small lane opposite Tunday.
All the hardship didn't go in vain as the Bandh Gosht was yummy to go with Kulcha or Sheermal. Also tried mutton kaleji, it was mind blowing. Biryani and kebabs as well are also good as compared to traditional ones.
They maintain a separate AC seating for family so no problem there as well.
A must try if you are bored of traditional foods of Lucknow.
Food is too good but the service is too bad . Very congested seating area ! The waiters were also not listening to us in the first call so we had to wait for long !
I can say they serve the best biryani at city of nawab .I had a grt experience in case of biryani.Dnt go for restaurant look u will be amazed by tasting their dishes specially Matan Biryani

Unfortunately couldn't click a picture as was busy hogging down the food. They have a sitting area not very posh but basic and clean. Their galawati kebabs are a must to try along with roasted chicken... Yumm. Also mutton keema and nihari with kulcha. (really nice hot flaky kulcha they serve). Value for money and I find it better than tundey. It's just opposite to tundey.
Lucknow has scores of Biryani lovers and I am sure everyone has his/her favourite Biryani addas @Lucknow.Well,I also have 3-4 but one of them which I discovered rather late-1997 was Alamgirs in a lane opposite Tundey-Aminabad.From that time Alamgirs biryani has always been special for me.They also serve arguably the best Shahi Tukda I have ever had!! Now ofcourse it has been renovated with much better sitting!!
I have also got Alamgir yummy mutton biryani packed for home both big order for party and even small portion.One of my fav even now and got it packed.

It's not that they are degrading or bringing down the quality of their food or service, it's just that there are place with much better service and taste and quality of food, opened in the same area.

I had gone here for dinner at 8.30 pm. There was a lot of rush and I had to wait for 25-30 mins before being seated. So one should not go during rush hour. I had ordered bandghosh, mutton istu and chicken biryani along with Parantha and rumali roti. Everything was good. I totally recommend bandghosh. I also ordered Shahi tukda which was very watery and did not taste very nice.
If you have got bored from tunday Kababi dastarkhan and open air you can check alamgir once mughlai food is served here we had orderd kulcha nihari Biryani and chicken kali mirch,chicken kali mirch was so tender and juicy.parking is not available here for 4wheeler

Food is just amazing . We are a group of 4 friends went on Monday evening and it was almost full. We have ordered mutton band gosht , mutton istu, mutton boti masala , roganjosh , parathas , Sheermal , mutton biryani , chicken biryani , shahi tukda. Except the roganjosh and shahi tukda rest all cooked to perfection . We didn’t like the taste of roganjosh as it was totally blunt . Shahi tukda was too soggy. Sheermal were too soft that u can feel it melting in ur mouth. 5* for service as they were so quick to serve . Total bill was 860/- rs only . So it’s a pocket friendly non veg joint with excellent food . I would say food service and quality is way better than other aminabad non veg joints .
This is the restaurant presentation in gali (narrow road)in front of Tunday aminabad. Ambiance is ok you can seat food is good . Server all Mughal cousin with authentic taste.
I'm giving this place a five star just because of it's butter chicken this is the only place in lucknow where you get WHITE butter chicken and it's so tender and juicy and the gravy is amazing and the shirmal is so soft that it literally melts in your mouth. Though the place is small but the service is very good and you'll always have option for takeaways.

The best to have here is their roasted chicken , probably the best in Lucknow. Their sheermal is really great. Other dishes are ok but not very tasty. If you visit here. Go for the roasted chicken.
Ambiance is however not so family friendly but you can have a meal there with friends.

Probably the place where I’ve bad one of the best Keemas I’ve ever in my life. Albeit the keema was excessively soggy & oily (and that is often to be expected) - the meat was packed with flavour. Like super duper packed. Paired with Kulche and it’s unbeliavable!
Have never rated a restaurant so highly and for good reason. Their chicken masala is beautiful. Their brain curry is divine. The boti kabab is excellent. Loved the sheermal too. After eating the same 2-3 kinds of gravy everywhere, Alamgir is a fantastic new change. I want to keep going back.
I visited the place twice for takeout orders. The restaurant is located in a narrow passage (gali), so be mindful of the signboards.
The mutton biryani served here is extremely tasty. I had such a tasty biryani in a long time. The meat was tender and cooked perfectly, and the preparation of the rice made me speechless. The aroma of biryani is still alive in my mouth, and I can't wait to have it again on my future trip to Lucknow.

Inspite of so many popular and good nonveg places in Lucknow, my teenage years favourite ALAMGIRS @Aminabad still manages to have a special place for me. The Mutton Bund Gosht is still yummy and of course the Mutton Biryani still captures the taste, texture so well. Also the fact that the owner is still so humble and great to talk to adds to value of this iconic non-veg eatery!!
The hotel is situated in a narrow passage type place in the old market of Lucknow. Visit this place if you’re a big time meat and mutton lover. I recommend trying the mutton keema and Magar with rumali rotis.

Foodwise quite good, nahari, band gosht and especially kulcha is OMG. However, like most such places, plates have turned yellow, don't expect A class hygiene. Service may be also be affected by size of your order. But if food is your only condition you won't come out unhappy. Oh and Veg options are - just 1.

This isn't a 5 star restaurant, lower your expectations and then go there, you'll like it then.
The food was quite tasty but you'll have to compromise on hygiene. Still better than other restaurants in the vicinity.
I tried Mutton Rogan Josh along with kulcha the taste was really nice but I got only one piece of mutton (ordered half plate, atleast two pieces should have been there).
Also, the drinking water was handled unhygienically (better to take a packaged water bottle), plates were not washed properly, tables were greasy, the owners should take this feedback and work on hygiene.
At Alamgir the quality of dining is way better than others.
Lucknow is awesome for food but the dining venue overall needs improvement.

If u want to Hav Aunthentic Mughlai Food visit this place … Service is Really Good … if u are in lucknow or are visiting lucknow and want to hav good mughlai food visit this restaurant … paranthas , kulcha , Nihari, Biryani , Chicken Masala are some must hav here … Parking can b a bit tricky nearby as all main non Veg food hubs are here so it can be a bit stressful for one to find parking for vehicle but good food will stress away that

Alamgir hotel is located at Aminabad. It's located in the bylanes, opposite side of tunday kababi. It's difficult to locate this place, you have to observe keenly. I had chicken biryani, mutton galwati kebab and shahi tukda. Chicken biryani here was better than tunday kababi. Mutton galwati kebab was as usual great, but shahi tukda was big disappointment. Overall a great pocket friendly place to have some good food.
