While it's true that this place holds a special spot in history, my recent visit left me with mixed emotions. The much-talked-about hype didn't quite live up to the reality. The biryani, often praised, turned out to be rather average, and the kebabs were just passable. It's a bit disheartening when a longstanding reputation doesn't translate to an exceptional dining experience. Perhaps this place is more about nostalgia than culinary brilliance.

When in Lucknow , a must visit for traditional mughlai cuisine. Though the restaurant is under repairs at present undergoing renovation, it's a place not to be missed. Great food , authentic taste and value for money. The mughlai Paratha just melts in the mout and so does the gehlauti.

Visited this place for dinner on a friday night. The food is super delicious and the menu has many options for non vegetarian authentic mughlai cuisine. I had ordered Galawati Kebab and Chicken masala with mughlai Paratha and everything was just too good. The taste is as good as you can imagine. The ambience of the place is also decent. However some of the seating area in the upper floor is still work in progress. Also we had to wait for 15 mins for a table to be given to us as the place is crowded from evening especially during weekends.

Had lunch at this place, very rich taste. Loved whatever we have ordered, they have a waiting time which may take some time to reach at table but rest everything is awesome. Apart from nonveg items they serve kheer & shahi tukda in sweet, that was also delicious. Loved this place ♥️

I of the best place to have the authentic mughalyi food .If you want to go with chicken then you must have chicken masala for main course and for starter chicken barra .The environment was very good .

The flavors are complex and well-balanced, with a harmonious blend of sweet, savory, and tangy notes. Slow cooking methods like cooking in a sealed pot, are often employed to enhance the flavors and achieve tender and succulent meats. Pure Bliss. The service and the food is to the tee.

Ordered Galauti and Mutton Bhuna. Kebab could be better but I think they still are one of lko’s best. Bhuna Mutton was out of the world. Service is quick and crisp. No marks for ambience but one goes to these places for food not for the walls or tables. Overall must eat while you are in Lko.

It's a famous restaurant in Lucknow, and can be your destination for a family lunch/dinner. The biriyani here tastes good but not the best I would say. But the Chicken Lagan they serve is awesome. I highly recommend it!

Genuinely 5 star. Food is authentic, be it chicken masala or handi, paneer mughlai or kofta. Service is prompt, and seating is nice and Ambience as it should be.

Honestly, this is the best Dastarkhwan in Lucknow, the other ones lack taste. We ordered the famous Mutton Galawati Kebab (for obvious reasons) and paratha! It was yummmaazing!! After the kababs, we ordered Chicken Biryani and it also turned out to be a gem. Also, not to forget, the Shahi Tukda here is a musy try!

I visited with my friends on for a lunch. Navigation was little difficult as there were multiple branches. The first thing we ordered was Galouti kebab and Ulta tawa paratta. Galouti kebab was ultimate. It just melted in the month. The texture and flavours were amazing. We ordered Naan and Paneer which were good. For dessert we had Kheer and Shahi Tukda (Must try). Only the veg lollipop was not that good. Parking seemed limited. Seating was fine. The service was good too.

Chicken kali mirch is worth the hype but didn't like chicken masala much which is a speciality here. Wait time was too high. More than an hour.

One of the few old timers who have morphed into fine dine avatars over the years. The food is still pretty much the same but needs consistency within outlets. Hygiene and overall ambience is always a kill joy. Running a spick and span eatery hasn't been a strong point for any of these players. The place is family friendly and fairly busy. Wait time could be long if you are slightly late into rush hour of 1:30 to 3:30 pm. Their valets will help park your vehicle since the lane is narrow, two ways and with unmarked parallel parking spots. They do provide take aways and parcel excess food from your table if needed. Service is standout and very attentive.

So, I came to Lucknow for the first time and Dastarkhawan was my first place to explore the famous cuisine of Lucknow. It was amazing. If you ever visit Lucknow you can try for sure.!!
