Yummy Dosas. All kinds of chutneys.Authentic Southy food. Parking is an issue though. If you don't mind that the best place for authentic Dosas in Lucknow
Finally!!! I good place in lucknow who knows what the south Indian dosas taste like!
I good spread of different yum chutneys!
Authentic sambar n chutney!
What more do u want wid a crisp tasty dose..
Tried only dosas.. All were good!
One stop in lko to have tasty south Indian style dosas!
Food quality is very good. More of a south Indian restaurant than north Indian. Overall quality, ambiance and taste is very good.
Overall recommend !!!
It's a pure veg restaurant which serves south indian as well as other foods such as chinese, north indian, continental etc.
The food quality and taste are very good across the board. The quantity to price ratio is decent if not excellent.
Anyone going in for home deliveries must be aware of the long delivery times. In multiple experiences of home delivery, I have observed long delivery times due to shortage of delivery boys or other logistics.
A classy South Indian dining experience finally lands in Lucknow. Their dosas are nicely done, crisp on the outside and puffy and soft on the inside... They do cater to a request of 'no onion, no garlic' on some dosas on request, which is commendable, given that on any weekend, the place is quite packed.
The North indian dishes - pulao and paneer butter masala that we ordered were also very well done. The rice was tossed in ghee, and yet was not very heavy, tastefully and evenly tempered.
The waiters were prompt and courteous, and the service was good too.
A good place to dine out every now and then.
Nice place.. Soberly done...great taste...we had mysore plain dosa, rava onion masala dosa and rava onion plain dosa...we liked it...they have quick service...overall a good place to visit with friends and family..
Very hygiene and low cost restaurant. Great variety of south Indian dishes are available and all are very tasty. Must go and eat any dish at least once.
A brand which is well maintained everywhere. Great south indian, not to doubt on.
Located in crowded bhootnath market which is flooded with eating joints but still it marks its presence.
I love their dahi vada which is simply amazing.
nice south indian preperations.
but sagar ratna of cp is much better what its here.
South Indian is my second most preferred cuisine post Chinese. Sagar Ratna hold a high rapport in my eyes for its flavour and variety. I have been a regular visitor of Sagar Ratna in Delhi, its wide menu and the lip-smacking cuisines actually are a treat to taste buds. All in all, its a Thumbs up experience for all. One won't regret paying a visit to any of its branches.
A good place to go for, with family... Ambience is good.
Misses the south indian touch for some south Indian dishes which should have been their speciality.
i have been a regular visitor of Sagar Ratna Delhi especially the one at CP and have relished the South Indian Delicacies.. Sagar Ratna has successfully created its niche in the Northern India as a prominent name serving South Indian cuisine and in fact I personally feel whenever I am asked this question- Where can you get the best South Indian food, the first name that crops up in my mind is Sagar Ratna :).. So when I heard that now we have Sagar Ratna in Lucknow, I was overjoyed...
First impression that you get of this place the moment you enter is a sober and quiet family place.. The interior and furnishing are in subtle eye soothing colors. As I went at quite odd hours of the afternoon to this place so it was deserted but with time people started trickling in.
Menu offers myriad South Indian delicacies to choose from and they also serve Chinese and North Indian as well. But my intention was to dig in South Indian food only as after a long time i was to get the taste of this place.
Though initially I was put off a little bit because few of the things which I ordered either they were not prepared or the staff said it would take a lot of time to be prepared but then some how I already anticipated it because this is what i find in every restaurant of Lucknow..
The dosa was crispy and properly nicely toasted but the butter of butter masala dosa was hard to find.. other wise the taste was good.. usually even at good South Indian restaurants you don't find satisfactory taste of sambhar but here it was nice.. But only thing which I could not get was masala lemonade.. it tasted as if chat masala was added to orange juice and served to us..
Anyway otherwise I was happy with the overall experience and would love to go here again to enjoy my favourite cuisine :)
Very nice experience
True South Indian meal after a long time
Prices are not very reasonable but the ambiance pays for it. Decent place to go with family or friends.
I also ordered paneer lababdar to check if they were good at North Indian as they were having it in their menu. They passed that test too.
I and my family were so full that we could not check their Chinese Cuisines.
Will definitely visit them 2-3 times again as they have a long menu.
Frontier / Stuart was well informed and well behaved
Waiters seemed to be in a hurry. They asked us to pick our used plates and hand over to them. For just this point i have deducted half a point.
Otherwise it was a very pleasurable experience
Keep it up
Good ambience, courteous staff, and what truly matters- good food.
Overall a nice place & yet another add
ition to bhootnath's eatery options.
Special mention- mysore masala dosa & chinese meal
A superb place to visit with family (if u have vegetarians in it)....the must go place in lucknow as per my opinion.... From south indian to Chinese...... Every dish is just freaki'n awesome.....still remember the taste of Manchurian.....its heavenly...
In one word... fantastic. . I was with my family... of 6 ppl and v ordered. . A family dosa.. n d dosaa was so hugh.. so tasty. . My taste buds stills remember that dosa with various chatni..I juss love this place
A superb place for vegetarians!! South Indian food is just amazing & the Sagar Ratna special ice-cream with its awesome taste & decoration is commendable!!
One of the nicest place to go with family good food great variety, best price set dosage is there u owe speciality as it is nowhere available in Lucknow except here.
Sagar Ratna is one of the names that come to your mind when you plan to have South Indian food. Since 1986, they have been serving authentic South Indian cuisine in most of the prominent cities of India.
The range of South Indian dishes listed in the menu card is excellent along with the authentic beverages like Rasam, Filter Coffee, etc. We ordered Mysore Plain Dosa, Butter Masala Dosa, Onion Rava Dosa along with a plate of Rice Idli and Filter Coffee. The Dosas were amazingly delicious but sadly the Sambhar failed to mesmerize the taste buds. It was disappointing to taste Sambhar of average taste at an authentic South Indian Restaurant. Filter Coffee was served in the traditional way and tasted even better in the freezing weather of January.
Ambiance of the restautant is wonderful but the presentation of food and cutlery can be improved. Staff is curteous and food is served within minutes which adds to the delightful experience.
VERDICT: When your tongue craves for South Indian food, Sagar Ratna it is :-)
ambiance is great and the best south indian food with great dosa variety to choose from . I'll recommend every one to try the dahi vada out here , its a must try .

'Sagar Ratna' is a well known brand of the restaurant chain in Northern India serving vegetarian cuisine with a specialty in south Indian delicacies.
It was our first choice when we thought of having south Indian food. And it didn't disappoint us as well.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
LOCATION:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
It is located in the hugely busy market of Bhoothnath on the first floor of jain palace, above Agarwal jewelers. Parking is quite a big issue here.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
AMBIENCE:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
As soon as you get into the place, you see a beautiful statue of Ganesh ji. The atmosphere is very vibrant. Lighting is done very carefully. Interiors are mainly in brown-white . There is enough space for roughly 60-70 people. It was fully packed but we were fortunate enough to get our seats quickly. One thing that was really irritating was that you have to tolerate a lot of noise while enjoying food , and I guess that's because of congestedness of the place.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
SERVICE:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The service was really slow. They need all the time in the world to cook your food. That's really irritating for me. They took 35 min to serve appetizers. This is definately going to affect their rating. They really need improvement in this section.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
FOOD:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Food is really authentic. There is no way you are going to find better south indian food than this in Indiranagar. Chutneys ( green one & the orange one) that they serve you with dosa are just superb. Green one is my fav. We literally ate up the whole bowl.
We had-
• ONION VADA=> (3.5/5)
It had really a very nice texture to it. There were bits of onion and coconut in it. Can be tried.
• MASALA DOSA => (4/5)
It was really good. Outer covering was crisp and was cooked pefectly. Potato filling was in very meagre quantity. Execpt it , masala dosa turned out to be a bang on choice. It was served with-
Sambhar which was just brilliant. It had the perfect tangy aftertaste. All the spices were in adequate quantities.
Coconut chutney was different. As I'm not a big fan of coconut chutney but I enjoyed it to the last bite of it.
These two things are the best way to test the authenticity of a real south Indian restaurant. And Sagar Ratna passes this test gracefully.
Thus, food here deserves a big thumbs up.
I would have given them 4 but due to service issues Im giving them 3.5.
Overall, a great option in Indiranagar to satisfy your crave for south Indian food.
Ultimate destination for vegetarians ...

Good For South Indian Cuisine. Specially their Dosa.
Their chilly mushroom dry and chilly paneer dry are also worth trying.
Good for vegetarians. And people looking for change in food. specially by having south Indian just visit it
They serve great south indian food....... Paneer dosa is a must try , need to work on service, i dont like wating for my food :p
My life has been divided into two parts....a life in Delhi.... Nd a life in Lucknow (my hometown).... While i terribly miss the former one; the latter isnt dt bad either.... Nd the cnnecting bridge to both of it is The Sagar Ratna Restaurant.... So wen my sister directs me to Indira Nagar, its my moment of Eureka! wen i see Sagar Ratna... Nd shout.... "Oooo this is in Delhi also..... Nd i hv been to its CP outlet sooooo many tyms" :D
Though i am a hard core non veggie but this cmplete veg restaurnt hs a spl plce in my heart.... Cz of its amazing veg food.... The outlet here is well maintained and clean.... The food is as already mentioned "awsum" and the staff is courteous.....
Though the timeliness of the service is a lil bit on the lower part..... Bt dts probably bcz dis is Lucknow.... N the nawabi araaaaaam talbi sneaks in everywhere... ;)
However, if u are a dosa fan den do try the mysore masala dosa wch is an all time hit nd my prsnl fav.... If paneer is in ur mind thn the paneer butter masala steels the show.... Wd butter naan ofcourse (gve calories a break) . Also a spl mention of their filter coffee wch i hv tried yet bt yea my frnd recommends to the coffee lovers....
So all in all.... The ambience, food, courteous staff.... N yea.... My prt of nostalgia..... A thumps up .... :D
Ohhh! I just love it ..
Masala dosaa .. Yummy!
Veg. Utapam delicious???? .
Food quality & service r good!
Best service. good food nice staff. quality and quantity is perfect. over all excellent.

Awesomeness Redefined. Wow Sagar Ratna is by all means a haven for Vegetarians. Only issue is that it is situated in supremely crowded and always busy -- the bhoothnath Market. Also when you try to have your dinner or lunch here, make sure you reach the restaurant by 7:30 and 1:30 Respectively. Otherwise, you will have to wait outside in the chairs kept and just wait for your turn desperately. I reached there by 8 P. M. trust me, within half an hour the place was full with people. Almost 90% of the gentry is family types, which makes Sagar Ratna truly a Family Restaurant. Ambiance is also good. Lord Ganesha's Statue greets you as soon you open the glass door open to enter. Service too is quite prompt and sharp on time. We had ordered -- Sweet Corn Soup and Paneer Tikkas in Starters. This came in 15 minutes flat. Soup was pretty decent, however, the Paneer Cubes could have been done better. I mean the batter could have been better. May be Sagar Ratna is south Indian in it touch and therefore could not expect much in terms of Paneer Tikka.
Then came our main Course -- Tandoori Rotis, Gharwali Daal, Mysore Masala Dosa. Of these three, the Gharwali Daal and Mysore Masala Dosa were superb. Overall Experience at Sagar Ratna, I will give it 4.0/5. Just few words of advice -- when you try to have your dinner or lunch here, make sure you reach the restaurant by 7:30 and 1:30 Respectively. Otherwise, you will have to wait outside in the chairs kept and just wait for your turn desperately, and watch others gulping/savoring their food. Also, do not try for North Indian Dishes. They are decent but no match for the South Indian Stuff. Afterall South Indian Food is Sagar Ratna's forte.
A nice place to eat south indian dishes. Not sure if they are authentic but tastes good for north indians.
Interiors are nicely done as compared to any other south indian restaurant present in lucknow though there isn't any good interiors one as far as I know.
Service and hygiene is a place for improvement.
Location is also a concern as not situated in center of city.
Must a visit place if you wish to go for south indian dishes. Prices are not so high for any dish.
I just loved the Mysore masala dosa! It was just terrific..neat presentation.. Nice ambience.. And excellent service..!
Visited this place few times in last few days and noticed that the quality of food and service changes from Day to Night. The food quality is fresh and better if you go in daytime and same stuff will to be that good in the night time. Snacks are usually good. Service have a lot of scope to improve.
Overall a good place to go, specially for Lunch.
As we enter Sagar Ratna tinkling our taste buds, we saw a beautifully done place which didn't look like our "Delhi vala" Sagar Ratna. I mean in the good sense. Was also surprised to see north Indian section in menu.
Anyways, we ordered a Sagar Ratna Thaali and A masala dosa.Coconut chutney was hopeless and Sambhar was just ok. The dosa was crispy and tasty though. Thaali was a huge let down. Rasam was the only thing which was as per my expectations. Worst was the lemon rice. I was sure they don't have a south indian chef making it. I even asked the manager whether they have one or not, he admitted, they only have two south indian chefs and they are restricted to dosa section. Dissappointed. We don't demand for south indian chef buy atleast, a basic training is important. Coconut overpowered everything in the rice.
Butter milk ........ No comments.
Overall, I believe my visit was jinxed. I always had fabulous experience in Sagar Ratna and been their fan since my childhood. Hope things will be better soon.
Great ambience & in the heart of the city. Maximum variety of south indian dishes are available here. I love their paneer dosa n ghee roast dosa both r awesome in taste n aromatic as well. Kudos to Sagar Ratna they r providing us true south Indian taste in North India.

Wana have some mouth watering South Indian Cuisine.. This is the right place Dearies... Whether be taste or rates, variety or place every thing is great... A complete family restaurant, with excellent n quick service... A Must Visit..!!
Awesome restaurant to enjoy authentic south india..
Finally we welcome Sagar Ratna to LUCKNOW. The food is delicious plus you get all the blends of cuisine in a single restaurant. It is far better than Dashaprakasha. Here you get a variety of south indian dishes from Dosas to Uttpams. The vegetarian indian food is also good and enjoyable. But do book your seat before hand as it's now overbooked. In short Sagar Ratna opened with a bang in Lucknow.
Do try the north indian thali also. It's delicious.
Sagar Ratna has finally come up with it's much awaited branch in Lucknow.
The dishes were delicious and full of flavor.Although in our group of 15 people only 10 people were satisfied.Because everyone doesn't like South Indian Food specially in Lucknow where Biryani and Kebabs are the most preferred dishes.
The restaurant is quite roomy and the ambiance is amazing. The graceful light effects add to it's charm.
The rates are quite reasonable.Although at 150 Rs per Dosa,it isn't economical but it's more for the dining experience you pay for.
This place remains quite crowded specially on the weekends and public holidays. So it's better to get your table reserved rather than waiting for 15-20 minutes.
I have listed the best delicacies in the various categories :-
DOSA'S - Paneer Dosa and Onion Rava Masala Dosa.
UTTAPAMS - Mixed Uttapam was the best among all.
THALI'S - Sagar Ratna Special and North Indian Thali, both were equally good.Depends on your taste.
BEVERAGES - South Indian Filter Coffee,a hot beverage, something unheard of yet delightful.Basically it was a kind of a coffee with a lesser froth so the consistency gets a bit thinner.
OTHERS - This place is known for it's South Indian delicacies although other delicacies are good as well.
Veg Schezwan Noodles and Paneer Chilly is a great combo to have here.
Overall a great place for people who like South Indian Cuisine. Dosas,Uttapam or Rava everything is so delicious.
Although like I've already said that everyone doesn't like South Indian food, but for people who do like, this place shouldn't be missed at any cost :D
South indian dishes are delicious.
Great value for money.... Every thing on the menu tastes awesome... The Sagar Ratna special Thali and the filter coffee is to die for.... And the service is prompt and effective.... Would surely visit again...
