Its a small breakfast outlet with outdoor seating. Have a wide variety of teas (masala, black pepper, cardamom, lemon grass etcetc)served in kulhads. I personally liked the black pepper one. The accompanying bun Makkhan is amazing..simple hot bun with butter that just goes really well with the tea. We had the Chinese Maggi which also was delicious. The cutlet was tasty but a bit too oily and the garlic bread was good. A good place to visit for early morning breakfast especially if the weather is good
Its a great place to dine with your loved ones and especially their arrangement of eating out in the nature and inside the air conditioned hall is very good. A charge a decent amount for food they serve and parking available.

It is a roadside small open cafe. Chai ka adda..i loved the concept of this place.. Masala tea was not that great but yeah grilled maggie cheese sandwiches and other food was good.
Have heard much about this place and so when I came across it, I decided to have it and it was indeed a great place with cute ambience. I had plain tea in kullad, Maggi Tikki Burger and Grilled Garlic and Herbs Bun.

It is a shame that they closed down their open air cafe! The food was delicious! The ambience was perfect for a lunch with friend or a coffee alone while reading! Lovely little sitting area tucked into a corner of the Aliganj Plant House, surrounded by trees, flowers and geese running around! The truck serves good food too! The place is really really nice for mini hangouts and get together . A variety ful of chai for chai lovers and tasty quick bites ... Suggestions a lill more strict rukes for no smoking coz although they have a sign board saying no smoking but peopke still smoke thr and improvement in coffe menu if possible coz i ordered espresso and what i received was latte.
I really love this place, I love any place that serves decent chai, they have a wide variety of flavors too such as lemongrass, clove, ginger and elaichi my favorite and also their burgers are one of the tastiest in town, I have tried the paneer chilly sandwich which was pretty good too. The Maggi was extra spicy which is preferred by some people but I prefer a little moderate spicy or maybe I ordered the wrong one.

Loved it so much...My friend introduced me to this place while I was on a short trip to Lucknow. I really enjoyed the idea of this modern chai ki tapri. The menu here is amazing. Since it was my first and short visit so could not try other delicacies. But would love to go again if I go to Lucknow.
Had a burger and Masala Chala. The ambiance was pretty cool. They have ample of sitting space though it was a roadside joint. Maintained very well. The only thing I didn't like that ppl were smoking everywhere which was a bit uncomfortable for me. I would suggest the team to make a smoking zone so that nonsmoker can freely sit and enjoy their chai as well. This is my friend's favorite place and has become mine too.

The service is poor they serve very slow and it is self-serve too.
If you went here during the rain no shelter is there and there is no arrangement for the rainwater drainage. That makes the place unhygienic.

This place is quite eye chatchy. But one thing I dont like about this is they serve flavoured tea not the original one. They dont do justice with tea lovers. Rest the menu is quite reasonable and the taste of food is good. Cheese garlic bread is my fav here and cheese maggi. 4/5. Hello guys today in the morning i visited bun makkhan chai the place of tea lovers and i am in one of them.the place is quite decent and good they have decrotated the place with kettles and light.if i talk about food i have ordered masala tea, cheese maggi and mumbaiya sandwich.masal tea was awsum,cheese maggie was not good and sandwich was tasty overall it was good experoence place. I will suggest you all to try masala tea when you visit dere. đ
Clean, chilled out place to have a number of chai flavours. Must visit for any tea lover.
Tea isn't the best though.
The lovely bun makkhan, is grilled bun with butter, which is a little different that the usual tea stall 'bun makkhan' (roasted directly on coal/fire and filled with a lot of butter), but still it's good to have.
Price is also very reasonable. 12rs for regular tea, you can't really complain.
They've got a couple of benches and tables but you'd be lucky to grab on.
It's become my go to place with a couple of friends..

This review is to bun makkhan chai baristo that recently opened , the ambience is nice and natural you can see garden, crane roaming in garden , it is spacious , 5 star to new open air ambience . Food service is bit hasty as seats are far away so it becomes bit difficult for waiters to serve. Food and drinks were good and tasty due to open air thing it is not good for summers but they have umbrella at every seat . The timing for food service is okk . all in all a must visit place for 2 ppl who wanna just spend some quality time together .
Hey so what do you think of this place? Some chai ki tapri or anything branded like chaayos Nah! this lies somewhere in the middle. This place is cute comfy and is perfect for some gup shup ;). but not to forget the tasties they serve you just need to place your order and relax. This place is meant for college friends . Best place for all the chai lovers. It's a food truck they have a variety of tea along with some snacks. Veg cutlet is a must try. They also have a open air cafe to chill with friends and family. It's near purania chauraha so this place can be easily located. Highly recommend this place..

Very nice ambience and theme. Grilled Bun Makkhan is awesome, what I liked most was the crispy aloo tikki type dish whose name I forgot. I go there with my cricket team on weekend and enjoy the tea and bun makkhan with some rocking music, we used to make anouncements over mic and danced to the music.
The new expansion behind is great, with nursery being next to it gives a fresher environment, especially in the morning.
Advice: Improve tea quality, it tastes great but its not so hot. rest is just awesome.

Good happy place, if they could open up a bit early, then some other over populated places in the city will have tough competition. They have some of the kadak chai in their menu. Snacks helpings are good too. Pretty much a happening place to chill out with friends and end up a tired day.
If you want to do a random hangout or gupshup over chai, then this is the place. No need to dress up, just catch up your friends and enjoy the moment. Pretty good place for a quick bite and a cup of tea. The variety and the food is really pretty good. It's mostly crowded and hence a bit slow on service but it's worth the wait. It's bun Makhan can give Sharma bun Makhan a run for their money.

Noticed this cute little place on zomato. and i just had to go.Located on the main road with plenty of space to park. Cute place with quirky decor. prices are also affordable. we ordered tea and plain maggi. we received our tea within 10 minutes and was asked for some time for preparation of maggi. after 10 minutes we were told that there was some problem so maggi will take some more time.

Bun Makkhan Chai is one of the best places to have breakfast in Lucknow which opens at 6 AM in the morning. The place can be easily located as itâs few metres from Puraniya Chauraha.
Food- The menu has quite many options from Chai & bun makkhan to variety of sandwiches, Maggi, cutlets, garlic breads and Pizzas. We had masala and cardamom tea with bun makkhan, cheese & spice garlic bread and Maggi. Chai was good, garlic bread was satisfying and Maggi was a bit different but yummy.
Ambience- the place has a lovely ambiance as itâs in the open and the set up is pretty good. It gives you nice feel of the nature and the food adds upto it. The chai-loving quotes and those hanging kettles amp up the look and feel.
Service- Service is also good. We got the food in time. Hassle free payment options makes it all the more likeable.

Bun Makkhan Chai, Aliganj is easy to locate and as the name says it has everything. The concept behind Bun Makkhan Chai is very interesting, of a food truck with open seating. And, I must say it is the cutest food truck in Lucknow! They have been successful in creating a perfect ambience: cozy yet lively and positive at the same time. Perfect time to visit is either early mornings or late evenings when all the lamps are lit the place looks beautiful.
The menu is apt as per their demand. And best is their pricing! Service and staff is also above average.

Bun makkan chai Aliganj the place I bookmarked for so long . Finally I visit this place. Easy to locate near puraniya chauraha . The place seems to be very eye catching because of the ambiance open seating, lamps , hanging kettles. Service was above average . Pricing was the best part . BMC (Ban Makhan Chai) I really liked the very concept of it. Though it's a food truck but then It makes u feel as if you are sitting somewhere at an open air area of a good Cafe. The ambience and decorations can be enjoyed with a cup of tea in kullahads. I really recommend this place where u can make your footfall with friends especially at evening to enjoy the dim lights as well.

Its chilling outside and the best way to bring warmth in this cold weather is a glass of a âcutting chaiâ paired with mouth melting âbun-makkhanâ and some âmasaaledaar gup-shupâ. In the search of all these three elements I explored lot of places in the city of Nawabs. Being the food capital of the state, Lucknow has multiple options for cafes and tea stalls but this recent addition to the food directory of the town is a place to visit if you want to live again your school or college days.
âBun-Makkhan-Chaiâ is not another coffee shop or a âchaiwalaâ, rather its a kiosk, elegantly designed to cater the taste and appetite of all ages. Its one of the best place to hangout with your buddies or an halt for an early morning or late evening joggers, a right site for sharing some of your personal secrets over a hot cup of ginger tea or a joint for kitty-party chit chats. The kiosk is located further towards the Purania Chauraha, the place has an open air sitting, sheltered by a tree with wooden tables and light music.
Coming to food, the must tries are its burgers and flavored teas. Though âbun-makkhanâ is also good but its grilled and little different from regular palates of âLucknowitesâ. Maggie, sandwiches, nuggets, etc. are other delicacies to choose from. They also serve cheese and tomato pasta, rightly portioned for small hunger breaks. Portion sizes are decent and fairly priced. Being an open air point, still food hygiene has been maintained.
So if you are having a craving from some âgharwali chaiâ and your wifey or you yourself is feeling too lazy to move to your kitchen then Bun-Makkhan-Chai is the place you should opt for. As caption on their hoarding says âgup shup ka addaâ, it truly lives upto its real meaning.

Droped here at around 10pm with a full stomach but with the urge of having tea as it was 9 degree in lko..âïžto my surprise this place was actually gud with very clean pretty arraignment of sitting and cool colourful lamps and decore this place suddenly captures ur eyes whrn u pass by.. There was some born fire thing going on side.. With a decent menu which can b served with chai and normally priced this place is definitely going go to b a new adda for manyđ will vist it again for some food next timeđ

So on a winter morning we visited this place for some yummy breakfast, and whatever the reviews ( good) we got, it really satisfied our hunger and curiosity. Well we ordered veg cutlet, cheese grilled bun, Bombay grilled sandwich, ginger and masala chai.. The food was awesome, cutlet had the crunch and stuffing nicely, sandwich too made our taste buds drool. But chai disappointed us alot ! It was not at all something to order. Otherwise a good place to chill with your gang.. !
Truly a refreshing place for all ages,the speciality here is the khular wali chai which had the essence of all the ingredients as the name says,truly gup shup place "apni basha meh kahe" toh its an ""adda"" for all the tea đ” piyakar....!!!!!

Chai isn't that great if we compare it from other famous Chai stalls in Lucknow, but bun makkhan was delicious and I like the way the Chai Stall is, it looks so Urban.
Good place to enjoy tea and snacks ...bun butter of this place is too good and poha is also delicious....very good for Lucknow University student to hv tea coffee and snacks and whoever is traveling through metro in University metro station ...u can enjoy ur tea here peacefully...staff is polite and good ....only the issue is they take little much time ... overall much much good .I ordered adrak chai and grill bun butter ...chai was so kadak with smell of ginger which just made good mood ...and bun butter was also good. .
I recommend this restaurant /cafe to everyone ...must try.
