Shiv bhandar sweet shop is located at the busiest street of qaisarbagh, you hardly get place to park your vehicle. The prices are really cheap and comparatively food is really good. Kachori platter is really nice & lassi is excellent.

Do not go by the ambiance of Shiv Bhandar. Old, shaky furniture and unpainted walls with ancient ceiling fans remind me of a by-gone era. I am not sure when Shiv Bhandar was started. But pretty much sure, that 3-4 generations have managed the affairs of this little sweet shop. Tucked right into Gautam Budh Marg, adjacent to erstwhile Anand Cinema (which has died a slow death thanks to PVR, INOX, Wave, Fun Cinemas..), this place is always bustling with people.
Come Summers, Lucknow's scorching heat can be well beaten down by a glass of Chilled Lassi. Trust me, if you are thinking the glass will come to your table and you can gulp it down your throat in 3 minutes flat, then you are in for a surprise. Lassi glass comes to your table with a long spoon into it. Reason being, you will have to scoop out the goodies- dry fruits (raisins, cashews) and lots of khoya and eat them. If you are done with those, then probably you can gulp your Glass of Lassi in 3-4 minutes. But caution, have it slowly and steadily. Let the sweetness and goodness of the rich curd tickle your taste-buds. Apart from the Lassi, you can order Pooris which in fact are Kachauris. I think the last time, I ate it was 8 Rupees a piece.
Do I need to say that These are Pure Desi Ghee Kachauris?
Along with it, you will get a pumpkin curry, some raita (cucumber or bottle gourd - lauki), Dry Aloo vegetable. Legend has it, that the price is only for Pooris/ Kachauris, the vegetables, curries, raita etc. are all free, and can be asked for any number of times, provided you have Kachauries on your plate.
Do you expect a waiter will come to your table and hand you a well prepared, crafted laminated menu card? Old world charm loads heavily on you, when at the time of bill payment they accept only cash, no card payments. funny isn't it. Again a heaven for those foodies, who are hardcore vegetarians. Shiv Bhandar's Curries do not have onion, garlic etc..Lassi, Khasta, Desi Ghee Kachaurees. Disclaimer.. Shiv Bhandar is for those Foodies who do not judge a eating joint by its Decor and Looks.
I am a local and I have been enjoying sweets and lassi from this place since I was a kid.
History of this shop is amazing they are not new to this business. And definitely know how to serve good food.
For someone who tried Punjabi, Dilli, Karachi, Ulhasnagar lassi, I can safely say this is the most exquisite and divine Lassi you will ever come across..
every sip will connect with your senses..
life changing experience..
The Lassi was good with the Khoya and dry fruits. It's just that the curd was a little sour maybe because of the scorching heat. One glass Lassi can make you full. They should work on the hygiene level and the ambience of the restaurant othewise it's a good place to go with 1 or 2 friends.
The food is super awesome, their lassi and kachori are must have

Amazing food… gajar ka halwa is out of this world. Too tasty….
Awesome lassi.. Situated in the heart of the city.. Took away one star because no parking space is available. If you are commuting by 4 wheeler then get ready to walk a few yards..
Tried Lassi here, Glass offered is big in size and sufficient enough to quench one’s thrist. They must work on ambience.
The tastiest lassis I have ever had. It is so rich and fulfilling. One large lassi can keep you full and satisfied throughout the day. The small glass lassi is also enough for people who eat lightly.
Lassi is awesome...

The lassi is quite tasty and sweet. But mind that its quite heavy try to have a small one if you dont have a full appetite.
Famous for its tasty Lassi in the summers. The shop is very near to Anand Cineplex, the shop opens at 10 AM and closes on 11 PM. The price of the lassi is high in comparison to others but its totally worth it.
