It is one of my favorite place which serves authentic mughlai and awadhi cuisines at the nominal prices. The food is really really very yummy so I recommend you all if you are a non veg lover and wanna eat some mughlai cuisines. Hop in to this place once and I guarantee you will not regret. The ambience of this place is up to the mark as this is mughlai theme based.The service was very good. So overall experience was very nice.

Saxena ji, as I used to say all the time during my stay in BBD, is the 'anna daata' (food provider) of the hostelers !
There is something about Saxena bhaiya and the food he serves that makes students come back for more; even though the place is chaotically crowded and offers full access to flies and rodents.
I used to begin my days by feasting on the crisp aloo paratha served along with choley and curd (on demand) and a cup of tea. Lots of varieties in paneer is offered, my favorite being kadhai paneer. Another noteworthy dish is Mirchi Paneer which (literally) contains lots of sliced green chillies that cause some irritation in your digestive system the next morning.
To go along with subjis or daal, you have rice, roomali roti n roomali parathas (I hope Saxena ji will include Tawa roti in his menu soon)
Also, no review of step in cafe would be complete without the mention of Fried and vegetable maggie. Maggie itself is divine, and the cook inside makes it taste even more heavenly with his secret ingredients. It is a favorite among students who bunk lectures.
Step in cafe has always been known for its frankies, kebab parathas and its owner cum manager cum cashier cum waiter Saxena ji who single handedly takes care of all the the operations inside the cafe.
Overall, Step in cafe is not just a normal cafe in the vicinity of a college, it is a hub where friendship strengthens, love blossoms and memories are created; with the kind and affectionate presence of jovial and ever smiling Saxena ji.

It is not a fine dine kind of place, nor is it fit for dates or a birthday treat. But this is the place for brewing friendship, discussing campus life, developing ideas over some amazing varities of Maggi which is just unbeatable.
The crown dish for the main course is Butter Masala Chicken/Paneer. The other surprising preparation is the Kabab Paratha which is simply carrying the awadhi swad but expect no royalty, keeping in mind the price you are paying. For city dwellers, you can afford to visit this one, a bustling amalgam of young minds, sometime in the evenings for classic Tea-Bun Butter followed by a range of delectable frankies. The Veg Frankie is excellent by any standards. Light on pocket, high on life, this place is worth a thousand memories for sure.

There they provide you with good quality food. Thali is all good but if you are a regular student and live nearby area, you can try Dal Roti and Chhola bhatura here. Sometimes they stuck with price calculation and very stingy in this. Otherwise all good.
The best near BBD. My college life begins with this place. Lovely owner and helpful. As we were regular and have good terms with owner we often paid 20 30 rs less. And Boti kebab chicken is my favorite here. I have eaten at this place for 5 years from my 4 years of college and 1year when I was working in a company in lucknow. So many parting memories at this place and meetups. I am currently in pune. But whenever i will visit lucknow it's the must have destination for me. Miss this kind of place around pune.β€β€β€.
Overall it's good, but sometime its not meet our expectations that's why I rate 4 else it's good enough, also it's not too expensive like other restaurant, infrastructure is fair enough neither soo good not too bad.

There are two restaurants. One is on the first floor. Which only offers quick bites like Chole Bhature, parathas,tea, coffee, maggie etc.
The other is on the 2nd floor which provide the full restaurant service.

Awesome food but you guys need to focus more on biryani.. Ws Okay okay.. But gravy dishes are lip smacking n mind blowing
