It's one of those best places where u can have ur peace of mind by having their delicacies. Be it a la carte or be it the buffet system, have tried so many things here and mostly they've never failed to make a mark, a beautiful place for delicious foods
Well, we were four people and opt for buffet at dinner. Starting with dahi bhalla, panner tikka, manchurian and another snack( forgot about it) everything tastes good! But the three main course vegetables daal, paneer and mix vegetable are somewhat okay as they use less combination of spices! Halwa in sweet dish was tasty too. Overall for 350 bucks its a value for money package! But i do wish that they should include water and a soft drink within price of buffet!

The place has a nice sitting and ambience. Chilli idli is a must have. Buffet is reasonably priced. In veg main course dal makhni is a must have. Can have some more variety in drinks which are complimentary with butfet

As it's name suggests, kochi express serves excellent south indian food but is not limited to that only, it serves excellent north indian food too. Service is extremely good and ambience too is nice. Moreover, the buffet costs 349(including both north n south indian food) and it's menu is day-specific.
> As a welcome drink they serve rasam with papad/lime drink (winters/summer) and then dahi vada is served.
> In snacks they have a huge variety which is enough to make you full like chilli idli, spring rolls, vada, paneer tikka, sambar-idli n variety of dosa's, and everything very delicious.
> In main course, they serve mouth watering daal with mix veg, paneer masala, dahi n biryani with assorted breads.
> In sweet dish they serve pineapple sheera.
Also, if you don't want to have buffet, you can go for ala-carte.

My office was near to Kochi express so I often eat lunch there. Rest a variety of food but limited in days. U only order day special from menu dats annoying. Rest ultimate taste south indian food.
A very amazing experience, lovely ambience and great food .. i have been there and it has been ultimately nice experience every single time.

Did not click a picture because it was not worth taking as the delivery was messy. But the taste covered that up quite a bit.
Anyway dosa was yummy. The filling was yummy too. You actually dont even need Sambhar with it , the filling was that good.π

I l say best Zomato delivery and dine in experience especially for South indian lovers. The Menu is very well priced and portion size is great. I ordered Bharwa mushroom Tikka , masala dosa , rawa dosa , paneer lababdar , dal makhani etc. Will update about more food items on next visit which is sure. The staff is humble n quick.

Let's come to food. We ordered 4 buffets. If you are dining alone, your choice gets limited only to one out of two buffets (One being north indian and the other south). But if you're dining with someone or there are more than 2, they serve you both.
I am really sorry for only one picture. This was the first dish that they gave us, after that I forgot to click more pictures because food was great. Starting with butter milk, dahi vada, paneer tikka, crispy veg, idli, vada and dosa, main course includes paneer, mushroom and dal with choice in breads. Ending thus great meal with a great dessert was pineapple sheera(recommended)ππ.
All in all, great staff, great food, and value for money.

Intro - Located in the Phase-I Dugri Market its a multi level restaurant & banquet. They are a buffet only restaurant but there's no buffet displayed so to say as they serve everything on your table including starters & main course. The decor is very good & has a south indian feel to it
Food - They serve a north as well as south indian buffet but whichever you opt for you can eat from both menus. They have different menu for different days which they promptly display on every table & also on social networking sites everyday so its convenient when you know beforehand whats being served on that day. North indian & continental starters are extremely good, i've tried chilli mushroom, paneer tikka, veg kebabs, soya chaap, rolls & much more & the taste is spot on. Their dahi vada is probably their finest creation - not too sweet nor sour just right, in fact the starters are so good that one is full before the main course arrives. Dosas are also great, i've tried rava masala, masala, onion rava & mysore dosa & special mention for the 3 types of chutneys which not many south indian outlets offer. They also offer unlimited rasam & butter milk. Been there twice & had Payasam & Sabutdana Kheer in the sweet dish both of which were amazing & lightly sweetened.
Service and VFM - At 349+ the buffet is a steal, no 2 ways about it. The quality, taste, decor service everything is so good that the prices seem unreal. Special mention for the service which is just excellent, you never have to wait for anything just order & its on your table in no time, fresh from the kitchen even when the place is full which is commendable. The staff is very courteous & helpful which adds to the experience.
Overall - One of the best new fine dine places to come up in ludhiana, extremely value for money, great food, good staff & decor

Pretty amazing experience. Lately, have not felt too great of the other Authentic South Indian options in the City. Can say this is the MOST Authentic. Tried the South Indian Buffet and everything was perfectly cooked with the right flavors. Portion sizes are very optimal which makes sure people take what they can eat and re-order (if required), also serving the Buffet on Table is a great idea, this STRONGLY leads to AVOIDING ANY WASTAGE, Kudos.Β

Lunch and dinner buffet, everyday. The place has very cozy interiors, a very nice authentic vibe going on with a beautiful ganesh idol at the entrance.
You can order from 2 options, north indian buffet (dal makhni, kadai paneer, gulab jamun, manchurian, fried rice and a variety of breads and the other is the south india buffet (buttermilk, utthapam, idli, vada, dahi vada, gulab jamun and a variety of dosa's from masala dosa to mysore dosa, set dosa and rava dosa)
As the name suggests, they are experts when it comes to south indian cuisine, everything was perfect, from dosas to idli to vada, the coconut chutney was amazing and dahi vada is probably the best you can have in the city.
The north indian was actually quite good, dal and paneer were spot on, lacha parantha, and butter naan were good, the manchurian on the other hand was pretty bad, if you guys do visit, kindly excuse yourself from the chinese part.
Gulab jamun were soft and juicy and all this at a price of Rs.350/head, i mean its a steal. I suggest you must book yourself a table because the place fills up really really fast.

Although already experienced the taste through on-line delivery on ZOMATO. Now First time visited Kochi Express in Ludhiana.From Name It seems to be South Indian Restaurant it is true but it also serves North Indian.I think it is first restaurants in Punjab who serve South Indian Buffet.You can enjoy unlimited south indian foods with good taste in reasonable price tag.They start with butter Milk and also serves Dahi Vada,Idli,Upma,Dosa of your choice,Rice and Yes Pineapple sheera in Desert.Taste of every items was authentic and Awesome.Pineapple Sheera was really Yummy.North indian spread are also good ,they serve 3 starters along with 7-8 main courses.If you really want to relish good south indian food and north Indian veg Buufet it is best place for you .

Delicious food! The coconut rice were so flavorful and well cooked. Everything in the South Indian platter tasted wonderful and we enjoyed our meal a lot.

it's a lovely place for south indian food fans... although only buffet and doesn't have ala carte option... but there's absolutely no doubt about the taste of the food... 100% authentic south indian... do visit on Sunday to try there super Sunday menu... and what awesome buttermilk... you might have to wait for seating...

We went out on dinner on monday and we opted for north indian buffet for INR349.
As we entered the place the ambience and interiors are just great and awsome. It feels like you are different city . The VIBE is superb !!
There was so much on the list which they offered us in the buffet. North indian buffet also includes all south indian food items.
The best food item I loved on the menu was their paneer irani tikka , wontons and veg biryani. The Tikka had typical type of SMOKY flavour in it and outer side was crispy. This combination was very delicious and superb. Whole buffet was of very fine quality. Also the biryani had a smoky fragnance which tastes very good to eat.
