Its a bit overrated. Biryani tasted well. Fish and chicken curries served with white rice was average. Fish fry was very fresh and tasty. Mutton Biryani was good too. Extras was pricey. Car parking absolutely not possible in the vicinity. Difficult to find bike parking too. UPI and cash payments only.

Very busy hotel located near to the Meenakshi Amman Temple… Very difficult to find a place in the peak lunch hours.. Biryani was so nice and yummy..quantity was very moderate but they provide white rice and gravies with the biryani.. Mutton chukka is very small quantity as it’s the standard in all Madurai restaurants Finding car parking near to the hotel is Impossible come via walk or by hire auto… Overall it’s a nice restaurant to give a try if you have patience to wait for the table

Came for lunch with my family. We loved our Mutyon briyani with mutton kola mains which were amazing with yummy taste, very impressive for a non vegetarian restaurant. The service was Good and the When we arrived at 1.40, we had to wait 20 minutes while they got our table ready. But prices are little high.

Today I had curd rice for lunch and was scrambling to have Briyani for dinner to compensate my lunch. I almost covered most of Madurai restaurants which are named for good Madurai style Briyani. I missed Jeya Vilas and thought to pay their a visit today to fullfill my hunger for Briyani. It was a take away. So I have provided my review (out of 5 stars) for the below criteria alone considering that it is a take away. Quantity: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I bought 2 Mutton Briyanis, 1 Oil Mutton Chukka and 1 Chicken 65. I will say the quantity of all 3 items bought is sufficient for the price. Not less & not more, but opt for 1 person. We used to see not more than 5 pieces in Mutton Briyani of some restaurants. But to my surprise, I happened to see 10 pieces here which are medium sized (as you can see in the photos that I have posted). Rice quantity is also sufficient for 1 person. They have also included 1 boiled egg. Onion raita and curry for Briyani are accompanied. So not much disappointment when it comes to quantity, for me. Taste: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I really felt happy on eating Mutton Chukka. Chukka masala was really like home made and a true Maduraikkaran can feel it. While chewing, you will feel the taste of the spices like prepared by our mothers. As for Mutton Briyani, the aroma itself will tell you if it will meet you expectation and Yes it had. It was the typical Madurai style Briyani which satisfied my expectation. Mutton pieces in both Briyani and Chukka are very tender. One thing I like to highlight on the Briyani is that it will not give you a cloying experience after few morsels. Chicken 65 taste was average. Hence reduced 1 star. Not too oily and no burning sensation after swallowing all the 3 items. Packing: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Mutton Briyani was packed in banana leaf. Briyani's smell along with that of banana leaf will tingle your nose. It will give you a natural feeling and tempt to eat Briyani. You will not feel it when the Briyani is packed in aluminium boxes. But Mutton Chukka and Chicken 65 are packed in silver covers (as you can see in the photos that I have posted). I would suggest if those too can be packed in banana leaf to feel the same experience of Briyani.

This was my first dinner in the city, at a popular restaurant in the middle of Madurai. The restaurant provides good tiffin as well as meals and is close to the Meenakshi temple. Mutton chukka, Natu Kodi Curry, Mutton Biryani, Parotta with Salna, and Mutton Liver Fry were just a few of the dishes from their menu that I tasted. Everything was mouthwatering. You guys should definitely try their Natu kodi curry, which is presented in the Chettinad style and is incredibly flavorful and spicy. Additionally, because it is an outdated layout with little room for seating, do not expect ambience. However, the meal would make your experience special. Cheers to that.

Biryani is so good. Tasty as homemade, real and natural taste, no artificial flavors added. Ayirai fish kozhambu is very Tasty which is complimentary. White rice and tasty rasam are also complimentary. Highly crowded during peak hours. Best place for non-vegetarian lovers. Parking facilities not available. Interior decoration will enhance the aesthetics and increase the munching mood for a happy dining. 😊

Very old hotel. We always visit this when we are back at madurai. Airai meen , kudal kuzhambi and mutton kola urundai are my favorite here. They have tasty seeraga samba biryani. Biryani here doesn’t give a burning sensation in stomach after food. If you look for ambiance, this is not for you.

This hotel been in the wish list for long time. Never expected a full non veg hotel to be available just next to Meenakshi Amman Temple. Had several times crossed this place but only when i reached this place using google maps, i realised it. The entrance to the hotel is a narrow lane which gives an old world charm. Once you enter you have space in the regular hotel setup. The ambience is quite ok. Ordered a non veg meals along with Omelette and mutton Chukka. The meals was a no frills one. No irritants. Medium spicy but was tasty. The show stealer was the mutton chukka which was soft as butter and tasted great. The omelette was okayish. Cost me Rs. 250/- in total. The major plus for this hotel are the women servers. They talk so polite and care like its your home. “Podhuma pa sapadu” while i was leaving for hand wash melt me. I gave Rs.30 as tip. Highly recommended if you are near by Meenakshi Amman Temple and are craving for good quality non veg food.
