The food was as amazing as the service here. I am a seafood aficionado, and what I ate here was some of the best that I’ve ever had. My husband and I also really appreciate being invited into the kitchen to see the chefs at work. It was a very familial atmosphere with highly professional service.

Got here at noon today and right away, the first thing that hits you is the amazing view from this place! Overlooking the sea and many fisherman boats, it's a great place to lunch!
Coming to food, they didn't have any lobsters today sadly, so we went in for the calamari rings and fried fish with chips. It was fresh and beautifully cooked. Food was yum, no doubt.
Not so light on the pocket with each prawn at ₹500 which is a little weird considering its right next to the sea. 2 dishes and 2 lemon sodas for around 1k.

This is one of the most amazing places. Don’t get deceived by the cramped parking or approach road. Just call the restaurant before and they will arrange valet. The way they are going to greet you and treat you will make you realise that all those distance you would have travelled from Bangalore is worth.
Eating the lip smacking calamari or crab with a salty fresh air from the sea has its impact on ones mind.
Mr. Muthukumaran is a host who will make you feel you have come to some ones house who with lots of love serving you authentic sea food. Eziki was a guy who does a part time with his MCA studies is worth mentioning as he is a enthusiastic waiter.
Good restaurant by the beach in Mahabs. Crab chilly was excellent. Filled with onions and capsicum. Dont know where are they getting onions from. It's amazing they maintained the price. Ordered south indian fish curry as well along with Fish chilly which was good but not as phenomenal as Crab chilly. French fries was soggy and bit raw so better avoided. Had white rice . So total bill for 4 people was 1170 which i wouldnt say bad . Though they don't charge any taxes and gst.

Hospitality - The best hospitality irrespective of your skin color. They treat everyone with same love and respect unlike le yogi restaurant nearby where Indians aren’t welcome.
Food - Amazing seafood and restaurant people will suggest you dishes that suits your taste. We had prawn curry and red snapper and calamari. All are equally mouthwatering.
Ambience - Fantastic sea facing ambience. Beer, sea food and sea view. A mini Anjuna.
It was a great experience to have food right beside the sea. Can't imagine how lit up this place would be on a full moon day.
Besides this the food was really complementing the mood set by the ambience. The range offered was pretty exciting and the food was pretty decent, having said that it's worth every penny paid.
Try out their sea food platter if you're sucker for seafood, it should definitely answer your appetite.

Visited this place based on the zomato reviews... The place was true to the reviews.. A real rustic shack facing the beach, super friendly and engaging owners and finger licking delicious food.. Don't fuss on the ambience since this place is not strong on that front..
We ordered the fresh catch of the day Red snapper and Calamari in butter garlic... Decided to go safe on the options... The butter garlic calamari was strictly okay... Actually it was more like in some pepper masala.... But that did not get in the way of our experience.... Once the red snapper was served there was utter silence other than the sound of the waves and the hmmms.... The place did complete justice to the fish... Well coated with the masala while keeping the inside intact and soft... Well done...
If you are looking for a good seafood place, generous on portion size and not too pinchy on the wallet, then Searock is the joint...

This place is located beach side in Mahabalipuram, it's famous for its tawa fish which they cook with the fresh catch of the day.
We chose to have the red snapper fish tawa style. The fish was marinated in spices and cooked on a tawa. The fish was extremely soft and delicious.
Along with the fish we also ordered a portion of chilli chicken and chicken schezwan fried rice. The chilli chicken could have been better. The fried rice was cooked perfectly.
The view and experience at searock is to be experienced.
The food is excellent and very tasty. The ambiance is great and one would just love sitting and dining at this place.The prawns and squids are simple awesome. Don’t miss out the Tiger Prawns!! You will love the food completely.

The restaurant offers good variety of dishes. The food is finger licking good. Sea food is a must try. Fried rice is good. Right beside the beach you can see the sea and enjoy the meal, beer is available. Mr. Muthu takes care of the kitchen. Service is little slow and laid back but worth waiting. The beer is chilled. Life is cool and slow here. Searock serves best food it's finger licking. And their rates are cheap beautiful Bay view and people are very polite and Curteous. It's located in the end street of first road left of Mahabalipuram it's totally worth visiting this place.

Loved loved LOVED everything about this place! It's located just off the main roads where you will find all the "digital" popular eateries. But this one is truly a gem, located right on the beach!

Best part about this place? The food! AFFORDABLE, fantastic portions, delicious! But the trick is you need to know how to eat your sea food, including cracking open a crab which is all part of the experience!
Ambiance is simple, clean, gorgeous view of the ocean. Staff is actually a family running the whole place, so your also supporting locals by eating here. In fact, this place has also won awards on tripadvisor! I'm really surprised the rating here is so low. This place deserves much more credit than its been given!

We just stayed beside to this restaurant and then thought why not to give it a visit. A beach side restaurant with a sea view. Homely atmosphere specially the kitchen. Quite free.
We ordered ◼️Rice and Kerelian fish curry. It comes as a combo. Fine white rice with a rich gravy of fish made into pieces. Taste was okayish.
Next we moved on to my favourite seafood,
◼️ Garlic fish with chips. A big full fish grilled and cooked with loads of garlic and other ingredients but without making the dish spicy. Too many french fries were served along with the fish. Tasty and no doubt the fish was fresh.
Next we ordered ◼️ Mixed fried rice. And it was a seafood fried rice. Just loved it. Very fresh and served hot. We literally loved it so much. Very well prepared with lots of seafood.
The foods were no doubt good and the place Mahabalipuram itself charges extras as it's a tourist place. So no complaints regarding that.
Even service was quite quick. The only thing missing was a stand fan. Though it's in the beach side but still without the breeze the place was quite suffocating. Other than this searock rocked 🤘🏻

A delectable shack by the batch that serves fresh and delicious seafood. We loved the pepper calamari, chicken fried rice, fish Manchurian and the fish curry. The lobsters were a tad overcooked but worth the price.
A Sunday drive to mayajaal to watch incredible..ans then a drive to mahabalipuram .. decided to stop at searock.. a small 30 odd cover cafe restaurant whatever you want to call it.. right next to the beach.. lovely view .. one can see the shore temple.. people surfing.. fishermen..tourists .. doggies.. you name it.. they are all there... place has got a live lobster tank.. you go choose and the cook.. we had a fried fish cheese poppers and a sweet lime juice.. and all of them were yum... the cheese poppers could do with a little more cheese btw... lovely hosts.. clean kitchen.. open air restaurant.. view is amazing.... food is amazing..a tad bit expensively priced... would I go again?🤔 why not 😀 there are a couple of more cafe's in the same line.. missing .. chilled beer 😉

On a road-trip to Mahabalipuram , we decided to treat ourselves to some seafood. For our sea-food extravaganza we ordered Tiger Prawns and Lobster in garlic butter, Crab in Indian masala and Tawa-fried Fish.Each of the dish had amazing taste.
Crab meat was pleasantly sweet and masala used had well-balanced flavors.
Lobster and prawns in garlic butter sauce were delectable.
Crispy skin of white snapper perfectly complemented the delicate meat.
Do try their lemon-honey-ginger tea.
It was a total pleasure to meet Mr.Muthukumaran and Mr.Shankar , who made our visit a memorable one with their outstanding hospitality. Thanks to Chef Vinoth for whipping up lip smacking dishes.
f you are sea-food lover, I would totally recommend you to visit this place. They not only serve real-good value for money food ), but also give you a chance to pick your own option from fresh seafood produce.

The place gives you the classic fishermen 's Chennai vibes fresh fish, lobster and some nice beach winds. Will come back for more! The parking was a nightmare! Navigating to this place was hard too
Searock Restaurant was amazing because we had a fun night. There was great service the staff always kept coming with food. The food itself, was delicious; we had deep fried calamari, prawn and a whole fish - it was not boneless - and a few other things until we were absolutely full. Regretfully, we couldn’t make room for the fried fish. The restaurant is right by the beach, making that vibe right.
A wonderful spot, though slightly pricey. The staff could be friendlier. Additionally, there are books available at the counter for reading. We ordered pepper chicken and it was with bones, not expecting that, and were told by the waiter that we should have requested boneless in advance - a bit unexpected (both were of same price range). Nevertheless, the beer and fish was exceptional, making it a seafood lover's paradise.
Highly recommended restaurant when you are in Mahabalipuram. It’s one of the best restaurants in Fishers Colony and a feast to sea food lovers. They have wide range of sea food and you can chose from the available live crabs, prawns, lobsters etc. The ambience is a kind of Instagram-able joint with great service. This place is an absolute delight. Good food and a great deck looking over the Mahabalipuram beach. The vibe here is great and the prices are reasonable too.
You can spend the time on deck of the shack, eat and go to take a dip in sea and come back to the seating area.

Best beach side restaurant at Mahabalipuram. The beach view, food taste and service are awesome. Only limited parking on the main road and you might find it difficult to locate this place.
Right on the beach, it's difficult to miss this restaurant. They have a huge variety of sea food.
You can select from the fresh sea food that they have in their collection inside the kitchen. And then accordingly they will prepare the food for you.
We went around 8 pm for dinner here. Couldn't find anything to feed my toddler.
They had good crab collection, so we selected one and then had crab roast and crab chilli fry. Both were delicious, owing to the fact that the crab was very fresh.
They have vegetarian options too.
It's a small place facing the beach. It gets crowded pretty fast. We got a seat as we came early. There's only 1-2 people who were serving and billing, so service was slow. Takes a min of 30 mins to get served. You can read books meanwhile which are available there. We ordered calamari rings, butter garlic prawns and veg fried rice. All were good.
After a long drive, coming here to chill is a great option. Right beside the ocean with strong and cool winds. Take a step in and you’re welcomed with a friendly and welcoming interior. While a tad bit pricey, the quality of the food is great and it’s very delicious to top off. At least for that style of restaurant anyway. Coupled with some chill beers and friends and you’ve got a recipe for having a good time. I will definitely be visiting again.

Great location, bang on the beach.
You can't get a better ambiance to chill with friends with a couple of cold beers at a shack where the breeze gushes inside.
It's kids and family-friendly and fellow patrons look after their own business.
They have a live lobster tank and live crabs on display and of course, it's a happening place in the seashore, so fresh seafood is guaranteed.
Tawa fish, Batter fried calamari, butter garlic prawns, and mixed seafood fried rice/noodles are our regulars here as it is wiser to stick with seafood at a specialty place. Price is now on the steeper side, but it's how it is in other similar places in othavadai street.
Muthu is a great host Humble, smiling yet suave. He and his team make sure that you leave happy-hearted. Great place for a relaxing weekend outing. Highly recommended.

Very Nicely Maintained, Very Clean And Tidy Restaurant. We ate Squid, Prawns And Whole Fish there. All dishes were very well cooked and was delicious. I would recommend all to visit this place during your visit. Prawns Fried Rice was also nicely made. They Provide Valet Parking.
