This place literally has the best food. The food is impeccable and the atmosphere of the place is calm, peaceful and away from the maddening crowd. The owner is a cool host, always smiling, accommodating and ever so gracious. Once you are here, you'd never want to leave this place!
Excellent place with astounding view. The quality & taste of lasagne is succulent. Il Ferno sep. Veg. Pizza was one of its kind, Recommendation to have it with jalapeño.
Pasta smell and taste very authentic just need to add some more Parmesan cheese to enhance the flavours.
The best pizza and lasagne in Manali! And to add to the amazing food Il Forno offers you a lovely unique ambience with a great team to serve you with a smile, all due to the owner Ashmita's passion and personal involvement in running the place.
Little gem of a place. Expensive but worth the experience. Lip smacking food, great ambience and fantastic views

The best to have Italian delicacies along with long chat with your loved ones. Experience will be amazing from the very beginning you will enter till you exit...
Most awesome Italian food experience ever!! Period. The outdoor seating in the midst of the mountains was beautiful and added to the magic. Must visit if you are in Manali.
Lovely place...must visit....delicious food...keep it up
good authentic wood fire pizza. a must visit again and again..
Went to this place after seeing reviews here and on TripAdvisor and i was amazed.
This place has beautiful views, great hospitality and equally amazing food.
The Pizza was one of the best pizza i ever had. The past was great too.
A must visit place if you are in Manali.
This beautiful little Italian cafe is nestled in a 150+ years old wooden architecture. Owner is a small family that's mostly present at the cafe to welcome you. Staff is cordial and warm and service is prompt. Ingredients are fresh and food is heavenly. Their ginger lemon honey was the best I have ever had. We tried veg lasagna, peach and apple juices, a lemon chicken stake. It was all so well done. Another must visit place in Manali.

I must visit place when in Manali, close to The Himalayan Resort. The most beautifully done cafe in Manali,There pizzas are a must try along with plum juice.
One of the best places and unbeknownst to a large crowds. It’s covered with greenery and pretty flowers all around. They have the best of 90’s music playing which makes it super easy to fall in love with the place within a few minutes.
Super fresh, thin and brick oven baked pizza is amazing!
The grilled chicken salad is also worth mentioning. The place serves great drinks. Ended up spending a lot more time than anticipated. Tried their coffee, freshly brewed iced tea and a very refreshing take on lemonade! The stomach eventually gave away, else would’ve tried everything on the menu!!
If you're near Hadimba Temple, you must try out il Forno. It's a very cute cafe with a great view and music. The food is good. I tried the arrabiata mushroom pasta and the cookies and cream milkshakes, both of which were nice.
After a tiring and exuberant trek in the ranges of Himachal Pradesh when you get good food - its just bliss. .
Unfortunately , The traffic in Manali made it impossible for us enjoy this place, the beauty . . and the lovely food. . . Hence we just parceled away the food with us so that we dont miss on it. .
Pasta/Pizza and the Sandwiches (Packed away food): They just tasted yumm . . We had it after a couple of hours and still they tasted so good. .
Tiramisu / Fiametta / Apple and Plum Juice (On spot dining):After a very long time had such fresh juices. .
The Cakes tasted equally good : )
Wish we had more time to spend there..
Until Next Time : ) Thanks :)
Absolutely loved this amazing place with the best pizzas in Manali. Tried their choco biscuit and tiramisu and they were crumbly and delicious at the same time. Great texture. Do try their lemon nana for a refreshing experience and the chicken loaded pizza is love. Great experience 💯
Very calm place in the lap of Manali.
The food and service is great. Tasty food with clean place.
The view from the place is beautiful and it's a lovely cafe
Even though this place is located a bit far from the main city, it is a must visit if possible. It is quite near to Hadimba temple. The cafe is very beautiful with outdoor sitting amidst colorful flowers. We ordered Chicken Salami Pizza and fresh Plum juice. Both were good but I would like to mention the Plum juice as I just loved it and it was literally refreshing!! Do try it if you are nearby.
The best place, where they serve very tasty Italian food! This place is close to Hadimba Devi Temple. Wonderful ambience! The price of the food are very nominal. A must visit!
Just fulfilled a 7 year old prophecy. I had wanted to come to this place and have lasagna when I had come to Manali 7 years ago with my family. However, due to certain unforeseen circumstances, I couldn’t go to this place during that trip. So I promised to come back here when I was back in Manali. Today was that day. I and my friends had the mushroom tomato cheese bruschetta, apple and plum juice, lemon nana, chicken lasagna, and the salami pizza. The food was every bit as good as I had imagined it to be. Everything was perfect. The service, the ambience and the food. I’ll be back, even hungrier than before.
Incredible pasta and pizza. Fairytale-esque setting. Gorgeous views of the mountain and river. Nice seating. Would've loved to spend more time there. Will definitely pay this place a visit if I'm ever in Manali.
Great place to dine in
Has authentic Italian food
Calzone was superb
The best dish was the risotto, they use authentic rise and cheese which makes it all the more better
Tiramisu needs an upgrade
Il Forno is a quaint, cosy cafe located on the winding road which goes up to the Hadimba Temple. The cafe is just gorgeous - a Himachal-style wooden hut, gazebos and hammocks in the garden and flowers all around, and a breathtaking view of the mountains. Pretty much like Hobbiton from Lord of the Rings.
We decided to sit in the open and play Uno as it was a beautiful, sunny autumn day. We ordered a cheese, tomato bruschetta, a veg pizza, a ginger honey tea and a cappuccino. We could smell the aroma of the pizza as it was being baked in the wood-fired oven. The pizza arrived - hot, thin crust, loads of cheese and veggie toppings. We gobbled down that deliciousness in a few minutes.
The bruschetta was equally good - it had a lovely aroma of herbs. We finished that too with our tea and coffee. For dessert, we had tiramisu. The tiramisu was okayish. Overall, it was a lovely meal. I'd love to go back on my next trip.
Excellent ambience with an amazing view. Great food. Polite staff. RECOMMENDED.
Great Pizza with awesome view of hills and nature.
Location:
- This Place is just 500 meter away from Hadimba temple and 1.9 KM away from Mall road.
Ambiance:
- Very nice view- Nice sitting area- Lots of parking space available inside the premises- Nice music
- This place is quite away from the hustle and bustle of main city.
- You will never forget this type of great experience.
Food:
- Lip smacking Italian food- We ordered pizza and espresso.- Pizza was excellent and perfectly baked
Must visit place.
Tried their pizzas. Beautiful location between the mountains of Manali. They also have a well maintained outdoor garden with roses and lots and lots of greenery.
It was a lovely experience with great views of nature and good food, although it was a bit pricey.
amazing authentic pizza great pasta and the best place in manali best food best service lovely sitting I love this place we will try to come back again this is the best .
Probably the best pizzas I’ve had in this country! A beautiful place to chill. The garden, the hammock, the view! Definitely a must visit if you’re in Old Manali
Beautiful Italian experience in the hills with the place surrounded by beautiful exotic flowers and fruits in their vicinity. Found the place on Zomato and a must visit during the day time and night time.
Pizza was made in wood fire which added a lovely Smokey taste. Look at the pictures to believe.
The staff was polite with good knowledge of cuisines. A total bill of INR 1490 for 5 of us.
This place was an excellent Italian dining experience in the hills. They have beautiful outdoor seating and cosy indoor seating. The staff was polite and friendly. The wood fired pizzas were really nice. The bruschetta was very good too. Overall I would rate it as a must visit place if you are in Manali.
The best place for Italian food in Manali, IL forno is a quaint restaurant which offers great food combined with warm and friendly hospitality. You could spend a good part of your day sitting under their Gazebos watching the mountains. Try their salads, pizzas and the lasagna and to end your meal they have some great desserts and coffee too! A must visit when in Manali.
Been going there for more than a decade ,
Yesterday’s lunch was after a gap of few year and can still say it’s still best place to eat in Manali.
Must have pizza , pasta and deserts!!
il Forno which translates as 'The Oven' is a nice little place serving up delicious Italian food. It is a beautiful place located in the midst of a beautiful orchard offering stunning views of the Himalayas. It is a very short walk down from the Hadimba temple. The orchard adds a certain joie de vivre. The view is great and its a treat to enjoy a good meal whilst surrounded by a range of flora. I also loved the music they were playing, it had a perfect lazy afternoon vibe.
Coming to the food we tried a lot of their things :
# Pizzas - We tried a couple of their Pizzas, both were what you would expect from Oven baked pizzas. The crust was nice and had the perfect amount of crunch. The pizzas were topped off generously and had a lots of flavour.
# Non veg Supreme - This was a chicken breast cooked with mushrooms and bechamel sauce. The sauce was a little thick and the chicken was slightly overcooked. So, not my favourite.
#Lasgana - Good. It wasn't the best lasagna I've had but still had the right flavours.
#Desserts - This is where this place absolutely stole the show. They have 2 desserts on their menu and both of them are absolutely delectable. The Tiramisu is heavenly and will have you singing its praises. My favourite was their chocolate pudding which was a chocolate mousse or ganache on top of a biscuit. Words can't describe how much I loved this. It was perfect.
Overall, Manali does have a lot of places where you get similar cuisine but this has to be the best of the lot. The desserts alone warrant a visit to this place. Great place and worth checking out when in Manali.
The best Italian food in Manali, period. A 180 year old heritage structure decorated with warm hospitality, friendly service and absolutely delectable fare. Head there without batting an eyelid, you won’t be disappointed!
This place is Soo Good!! The lazagne and pizza, it just melts. The desert there awesome. The cookie and the cream is very soft. This place is worth every penny. Never think twice before spending. One of the core reasons to visit manali again
I accidentally found this place while exploring manali, so me and my friends decided have dinner here. I was amazed by restaurant's i feel and the ambience. The restaurant was a fusion of Himachali architecture and ambience of Italian restaurant. Staff was very attentive and helpful.
We ordered Lasagne and Margherita Pizza, Pizza was cooked in woodfire ,which had this amazing smokey flavour to it. I would strongly recommend this place if you are in Manali.
Note : Don't forget to try their plum juice.

Have you ever find a place that just fits right into your heart and you never want to let go off it. This beautiful little wooden cafe in Manali is that place for me. Each and every view of this cafe and from this cafe resonates serenity. The colours are soothing to the eyes. Little details add so much to the overall decor. And it's not just the ambience, the food surpasses the beauty. The Italian cuisine on the menu is made with so much love, the ingredients are fresh, high quality and add great flavours to the dish. In my three day trip to Manali, I visited this place twice, I couldn't let go of it.
The staff is very courteous as well as the owner. I strongly believe this great team has lead to this great cafe!
I ordered so much food there, the Apple wood fired clay oven pizza's are a must try! I believe it was the best pizza I had in India. Also the desserts are to die for, you will you have to visit this cafe to enjoy its full glory.
I hope to come back here whenever I get the chance. It's the best cafe of Manali and is a must try!
After being extremely disappointed by Café 1947 in old Manali, we decided to hike up to Il Forno.
Firstly, the upkeep and ambience of this property is just gorgeous! If you want to have a good meal or a great cup of cappuccino (and they definitely make the best cappuccino in Manali!) amidst a beautiful garden, while watching the mountains, then this is the place to go!
The food is pretty good too. The pizzas are well made with thin crusts and just the right amount of toppings. The spaghetti was only average though. But their delectable deserts made up for that!
We went just for a meal but ended up hanging out there till late evening, sipping cups of coffee, enjoying the peace and beauty of the garden and the mountain view. It was beautiful! A must try.
This place is located at pretty good location and offer you a decent variety. Staff is very co-operative and polite.
And along with all this the taste is really good.
So today's lunch was planned at the famous Il Ferno. Set amongst the beautiful Himalayas and having their own organic farming, it is always a pleasure to be at this place. We ordered a margarita pizza for the kids, Il ferno special pizza for the adults and a chicken stake in arabita sauce. It was followed by their chocolate cookie and a teramisu. The food and the sweet dishes are to die for! The only thing lacking was the incomplete bar menu where there was nothing to choose from apart from a strong beer which we had to politely decline. But a must visit place for all visiting manali.
Decided ro visit this place after Hadimba Devi Temple. We were a group of 15 people who desperately needed to eat something other than Indian and Chinese after travelling for a week eating hotel buffet food. The food was amazing and the quantity was very good too. The prices are higher than most restaurants here but it is so worth it. Highly recommended if you like wood oven pizzas.
Visited this Italian Cafe and loved it so much. One of my friend recommended this and took us there.
Food- amazing, delicious, authentic and too yummy food. We ordered Pizza and Lasagna, it was delicious. We also tried Hot chocolate - loved it as well.
Aesthetically it is the best cafe. The garden, outside seating is just amazing, even the inside seating is cozy.
The view from the cafe is absolutely beautiful- you see beautiful mountains.
I would definitely recommend you to visit this when you are in Manali and if you love Italian.
Best pizza I ever had. The location and place was beautiful, plenty of space, so many different flowers, it looked amazing.
Along with pizza we also had Tiramisu, must try.
Varieties of delicious food available.
But Costly.

Superb location and atmosphere when we came for Tuesday lunch (11-April-2023). There were just 5 guests eating.
The garden is excellent and the flowers are lovely. The seating among the flowers is gorgeous.
We had a pizza 5*, a chicken supreme 4*, and a Fiametta dessert 4*.
The food was good. The service was ... 4*.
Quality of food is good but can be improved. You can find variety in food as well as beverage menu. The place is quite picturesque since it is located nearby the Hadimba Devi Temple. If you are looking for good taste with a little high budget, this is your place. The place is quite spacious and you get both indoor and outdoor seating experience. They accept payment in cash, upi. We loved the tea and sandwich ( quite different from normal sandwich but can try). We also tried Pink sauce pasta but dint like the taste that much. Washrooms are clean.
Beautiful place! Their portions are huge, food tastes great. Great place to chill. Staff is chill too.
Ilforno is a very famous and pretty cafe in Manali. It is located right on the way going towards Hadimba temple. The place is enclosed with nature only with beautiful flowers and plants surrounding giving and aesthetic looks all over the place. The interior of the cafe is eye soothing because of the great woodwork done. If you sit here and just view the mountains with a sip of hot chocolate or coffee your time will definitely pass without any hesitation. The food ordered by us were Lasagna, pasta, Hot chocolate and pizza. The food is amazingly tasty here. This place is highly recommended of you're visiting Manali.
A quaint place for both sunny and rainy days (literally) 🫂
Their freshly baked clay oven Pizzas, in house fresh produce salads and all weather Chai are a must try 💙
Service is quick. Ambience original. And prices moderate for the excellent quantity they serve.
A must visit place for all the Mavericks visiting Manali 🧳
A very chic set up, with mutli level seating arrangement and sumptuous food.
Loved the food as well.
Wood Fried Pizza (Ultimate Veg), Cream of Broccoli and Bruschettas (Tomato Cheese) was our pick for an All Veg Early Dinner.
Price : $$$$
View : ****
Staff : ** (Don’t seem Passionate about their work)
What a great find! I went there several years ago, and just saw it again in my pics. Their tomato sauce is real. The tiramisu and tea were wonderful! The views from the restaurant are amazing. I would love to go back again.
Hands down the best Italian place in Manali. It is very near to hamdiba devi temple. Menu is short and preparations are very authentic. They serve Pizzas, Pastas, Lasagna, and few other items. Outdoor seating is recommended as it has great views of the valley below.
Service is reasonably fast and the place has a lot of parking space. I tried veg extravaganza pizza and masala tea. Pricing is on higher side.

Gorgeous place in the lap of nature. One can sit here for hours. Delicious food and very humble staff! Even their washrooms are extremely clean unlike other restaurants around. Must visit when in Manali!
Well it's a very beautiful, peaceful and calm place all you can look out whilst you plan your trip to pahaad. No booze just good good.
Must recommended for Italian food if u like. Else if u want to eat light enjoy a cup of coffee with some bakery food. It's in the middle of isolated location and very pretty decorated. Evening time is recommended. If u like sunbath you can just come sit read a book enjoy your coffee and sit at outside area.
Went here for brunch, the restaurant was just opening. We had lemon ice tea, home made cookies and chocolate shake, chicken mayo sandwich (home made bread), and chicken tomato cheese Pasta. The food was good and place has a very good vibe. Very picturesque and has lots of space. If you are looking for some Italian food, you should give this place a try. There's both inside and outside sitting. The guy at the cafe was a bit rude for no reason, but I assume it's a one off case. Food was served in plastic containers due to covid which was a plus.
This place has amazing views and the whole built is just so aesthetic that you can't go on without trying this out. Tried the Pizza and Fresh Lime, both were good but there weren't many options in the menu so that was disappointing. Also, even though the staff wasn't rude or anything but I can't call them friendly either, basically they weren't the engaging or vibrant type. Anyway, definitely worth going atleast once.
Very nice location, serves you all the Italian food options. Good in quality. The garden is really colourful and well maintained. Well trained staff. Amazing experience. It's a must visit place in Manali if someone love eating. They serve chilled bear. View is also beautiful from here. Very easy to locate once you are in old Manali.
Bored of daily bread, want to have something which is JUST & JUST DELICIOUS, IL FORNO is the place!!
A venue for people of every age. We had a wonderful experience at this site which is in the middle of hills. This episode of tasting the food of mountains at a place where greenery was all around, raw made restaurant was just a CHERRY ON THE TOP.
We ordered 3 layered cheese and veggie PIZZA, 2 cups of COFFEE, a great white sauce PASTA, and how can we forget to order a Dessert called TIRAMISU.
The food was really delicious, I was so impressed with the service and the staff. It was really a place which I would recommend to everyone.
Thanks a lot IL FORNO for such a beautiful food you provided !!
5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
