Situation in Mangalore this their ice cream is famous all over Karnataka, and it's like a retual to visit it.
There are a variety of ice creams like TIRAMISU, GADBAD and many more. They also have different milk shakes.
It's a place to chill with friends and family. You can also get some snacks here.
Service is also good as they are very humble.
Ambience is good, just like a normal hotel.

I live in Mumbai and everytime I visit Mangalore during vacations, Ideal Ice Cream parlour is definetely a go-to place for me!
Similarly, this time I visited it with my family and had a blast having different varieties of Ice-Creams. The Tiramisu has always been my favourite among the rest in the menu. Apart from that, Cake sandwich and Dilkhush too is a must try.
Keep up the good work! And I hope to see an Ideal Ice Cream parlour in Mumbai someday!
IDEAL ICE CREAM PARLOUR : One of the best ice cream parlour in Mangalore since decades. They are offering a wide variety of ice creams with authentic flavours. It’s a must visit place whenever we visit the town for either shopping , weddings, events or any other official works.
Ambience is decent with clean and neat seating area at the ground as well as first floor according to one’s comfort. It’s a lovely place to relax and have some quality time with family and friends enjoying our favourite Choice of ice creams.
My all time favourite is TIRAMISU.
There was disappointment that day when I had been to 2 restaurants earlier that day, I was hoping that this doesn’t turn out to be same. Unlike those 2, Ideals didn’t disappoint, but it made my day and I took the legendary Gadbad and it delivered 120%! The taste was fantastic! Must try and a regular try!

Ideal Icecream is growing its space big time and it now has a huge space in Mangalore. We visited Ideal ice-cream and it was great. The best of the lot was the Gudbad and the Tiramasu.

This place never ceases to make me happy with their quality of food and service. One must definitely try the Gadbad and Tiramisu ice-cream. The burger here is far better than the typical Burger outlets you might have visited. The ambience is good too. The waiting time might take around 15-20min as this is one of the most visited restaurants in Mangalore.
What do I say about this place? I simply love it. I would go here any day and spend some quality time with my ice cream. My personal favourites are gadbud and American choconut. And not to forget, the ideal special where you can customise your ice cream and it’s toppings. Great place to visit, highly recommended

This time I tried something different. The Ideal Special which is a diy ice-cream tray. Choose 3 flavours of ice-cream, 3 syrups, and your favourite toppings. It was a task to choose because you aren't sure what will go best with what. But I was up for the challenge and drooling for ice-cream.
Ideal is one of Mangalore's oldest and renowned Ice-Cream Parlours. Specially this one in Hampankatta.
They have two floors of seating ground non-AC and first floor AC.
Service is good, ice-creams delish, and ambience is quite charming.
4.5/5 because they have lessenes their quantity. Nothing to worry about as they have maintained a decent pricing.
Beware there are two parlours in Hampankatta at close proximity, one is brand new. So make sure to check with locals or rickshaw drivers for the original one.
Mangalore's most iconic destination... I have been visiting right from childhood and the taste of ice creams never change. Only issue is with parking, service can also be improved.

* Food- Their main specialty is their ice-creams. There are 40+ mesmerizing flavors like Gadbad, Tiramisu, Parafait and Dilkhush to name a few. Tiramisu is for chocolate lovers, Gadbad is for people who like variety and Parfait contains fruits alongside ice-cream. Apart from ice-creams, their Dosas are authentic and amazing. If you like North Indian, then you must try their North Indian meal or at least Chhola Bhatura (which is not bad, considering its South India). Also, sandwiches and burgers are served which have above average taste. Don't forget to try their Lassi, which is the best I had in Mangalore.
* Ambiance- The place is plain and simple.There is not much of that swank which you would find in other fancy restaurants. The place is usually crowded in evenings (thanks to its popularity) and you may have to wait a little to get seated.
* Service- Order usually takes around 5-15 minutes to arrive (depending on the size of your order). Staff keep least interaction and may give you suggestions if you are a first timer and ask for one. I found the service reasonably good, as I don't want to get interrupted while eating ice-creams. ;)
* Value for Money- 5/5.
This place is heaven for ice cream lovers. They have a variety of special ice creams which are served with fruits and dry fruits. They have a good seating capacity and their orders usually takes not more than 5 minutes!! Definitely a place to visit with friends and family for a dessert party!!

Located in heart of city, a place with great ambiance, mainly known for its ice-creams this place offers great snacks and fooding options.
We tried South Meal, that served Curd Rice, Onion Pakoda [one of the best pakodas I had] and a Plain Dosa, was a great meal, also tried Veg Cheese Grill Sandwich, nicely grilled sandwich good enough to feel up your tummy, during second visit I tried much talked about Paneer Ghee Roast served with Neer Dosa, just loved this dish, nice aroma of Ghee, with rich masala served onto Paneer, clearly a winner.
Apart for food, we tried specialty of this place Gadbad ice-cream, really a nice combo of ice-cream flavors, rich with dry fruits.

This place might be serving the best sundae ice-cream in India! If you ever wondered what gadbad is or dismissed it as a cheesey Indian adaption of a sundae then this place will change your impression of it: it sets the bar for gadbad. Apart from gadbad, they have many other varieties of sundaes and mix ice-creams - once you try one you would find yourself coming back to try the other ones too - taste and quantity of ice-creams is fantastic and despite being exquisite they are priced at value for money rates!
Apart from ice-creams, they serve South and North Indian snacks too. You could try cutlet - it contains beetroot filling and is crisp.
The staff is friendly and courteus. One amusing thing is that servers manage to find you even though no one notes your name while placing the order!
They even have a RO water purifier installed which servers warm and cold water separately.
One thing you would notice is that every dish that is served here is somewhat different than what you get elsewhere - be it ice-creams, burgers, sandwiches or even cutlets - as though owners have gone deep into the roots and understood how a dish is actually meant to be. This is what sets it apart from other eating places in India - dishes are prepared thoughtfully and the rates are low compared to the quantity served.
If you happen to be in Mangalore, do visit it once - you will find yourself coming back again and again, at least to try out all the ice-creams for sure!

Legendary is the word which can describe ideals. I visit ideal on my every visit to mangalore. This is nearby railway station, and easily approachable in the city. Wish they open a branch soon in bangalore .
Ideal ice-cream has become a brand in itself. Have been eating its ice-cream since childhood and relish the tasty and smooth ice-cream. My favourite being Parfait. Tried all the varieties of ice-cream on the menu and nothing more left to try.

I have a strong connection with this place , as a mangalorean IDEAL ICE CREAMS will be next to blood which will be running in ur blood streams.. the best Ice cream and the best flavours u will have .. they only cream parlour I have seen in India which serves only ice cream ( from last few years also snacks ) and is crowded all the time all round the year .. ambience 7/10, service 9/10, value for money 10/10, food 10/10...
I've visited this place twice and would love going there again.
The ones I've tried are Tiramisu, Gadbad, the Ideal Ice Cream Special and a plain Vanilla Scoop.
The Tiramisu, originally a Italian pastry, served here as ice cream, is amazing, the taste of coffee blends so well with the ice cream.
Gadbad was ordinary.
The Special involves customising with 3 flavours of choice and the sauces(that's what they call it) to be added.
The Vanilla Scoop that I tried here was among the best I've tasted in my life.

Words would fail to describe Ideal's 'ice creams', but I shall make an attempt for sure :)
Okay, so I had heard about Mangalore's most famous ice cream parlor since my childhood (by a school friend). And since then it was stuck in my mind that whenever I visit M'lore I'll make sure that I visit Ideal's and have their ice creams. And EUREKA - finally the day arrived when I was in M'lore, and immediately after finishing my lunch we started hunting for Ideal's. Within minutes we reached the place and the very next moment we had 4 ice cream delicacies on our table!! Not only did they look soooo fantastic, they taste was heavenly!! Each and every scoop in each of the dishes that we ordered was like a treat to our taste buds - sooooo fresh, creamy, perfect sugar, yet so light on tummy....
We ordered 2 Gadbad, Dilkhush, Litchi with vanilla, Parfait, Tiramisu, dry fruit cocktail and lastly ideal's special ice cream. Trust me, neither me nor my friends were disappointed with anything that we had. Instead each one of us thoroughly enjoyed each and every scoop of the ice cream... it was such a delight!!
Also, the service was stupendous, the staff was so well dressed and well informed, entire parlour was spic and span. Not a single point wherein I could have said that they need to improve. Just perfect!! Wish they started their chain in Bangalore too.

The name Ideals have become a big brand in Mangalore for serving delicious ice creams to us from so many years. I feel there is one mismatch in zomato data as this place should be Ideals cafe and not ideal ice cream parlour. Coming to my order I took parfait ice cream and mosambi juice both were too good. Just one disappointment for me at this place was when you enter you expect the Service staff to give you a glass of water but this did not happen so until you won't ask for water they won't serve this was something I dint like rest with regards to food and ambience both were too good. Hope the Service improves next time when I come here.

This definitely doesn't look like a typical Tiramisu, but this Tiramisu Ice cream from Ideal Cafe will keep getting you back for more🤗!
This is a delicious combination of some coffee flavoured ice cream topped with a soft layer of chocolate cake which is drizzled with chocolate sauce between each layer and to add to it you also have a scoop of vanilla and chocolate ice cream with bits of cashew nuts for the crunch and just enough of choco chips to satisfy all your chocolate cravings 😍😍
We also tried a bunch of other ice creams, and everything was worth the price, hence you should definitely try it!

Location : GHS road, just 10min from Hampankatta bus stop.
Ideal ice cream is one of the most famous brand Mangalore city, with some goo number of branches.
In my personal view, this branch is the biggest out of all. Ideal ice cream is always busy and full.
Service is good and fast over here. They serve cold water for drinking.
The ambience is fine really fine for ice cream parlour with the centralised air conditioner with a yellow colour theme.
As far as Pricing is concerned, it is acceptable at times.
But my personal feeling is that variety of ice cream could be more, the really feel bored with the menu when I sit over there and look at it.
They are good at Trimasu as far as my knowledge is concerned since they project only this dish everywhere inside the shop and to comment on it, Tirmasu is for chocolate and ice cream flavour lovers with crunchy choco chips with very stingy brownie on its top with some whip cream design but taste wise I love it since I am a chocolate, pastries, and ice cream lover.
My next favourite dish is their cake sandwich, which as the name suggests. It is a vanilla ice cream slab (they call an ice cream slice as slab) sandwiched in between two slices of some brownie like cake. I donno if it can be called as a brownie or what.
Apart my from this, they serve snacks in which my favourite is machine gun which is nothing but a hot dog like thing sandwiched with french fries, mayo, and other veggies.
Parking will be a problem here, it is located in a congested place.

The Tropical Delight from Mangalore's famous Ice cream Parlour - Ideal, Hampankatta costs Rs 120. It consists of 4 scoops of Fruit based ice creams - Chikoo, Mango, Jackfruit Payasam and coconut drizzled with some nuts, fruit sauce and whipped cream. My favourites were the Mango and Chikoo. The Jack fruit Payasam had a stronger flavour of payasam and a light jack fruit flavour, I would have preferred the opposite but great job on making such unique flavours work. Even the coconut was new to me and each flavour definitely lives up to its name. You can also go for the scoops separately but I'd rather suggest to order one of their special I'll mixes. The menu can get rather confusing and the servers say everything tastes good so no help.
The Tiramisu might be the most ordered item on the menu and comes layered starting from the bottom with vanilla ice-cream with a layer of chocolate chips then chocolate ice-cream with another layer of choco chips and a good serving of coffee flavoured ice-cream topped with chocolate cake and whipped cream. Do you need any more reasons to order this, and quantity wise I don't think you'll be willing to share this with anyone. If you're confused about their menu just go with the Tiramisu and you won't be dissapointed.
This place may not be worth all the hype it gets but It's definitely one of the most extensive ice cream menus i've seen 😂
I took the Chocolate Dad and Sandy Nuts and I must say, more than the ice cream itself, the nutty gritty goodness of whatever dry fruits and nuts they make is what I loved the most!
I have so many good words to write about this wonderful cafe. I would definitely have rated it 5 but I have some issues with it. 1. The servings of idli+vada and sambar are a-la-carte on the menu. One has to choose if he needs sambar with them and if he does, needs to pay extra for it. This is South India, isn't it? why the rules are like other regions of India where Sambar is rare.
2. With so much staff, all they can add is provide waiters to take orders instead of making the customers wait for their turn at the counter.
It's not always complaints. I have developed a special liking toward buns in Mangalore. Ideal cafe serves them and they are good too. But the highlight of the day was the cool weather post a good rain and the ice creams. From the traditional gadbad to the latest tropical delight, we had everything to fuel our bodies. It was a good experience.
This one is yet another outlet/branch of the very famous ideal icecream and is located in hampankatta one of the most busiest area of Mangalore. Coming to menu its the same as other outlets with ice cream, sandwiches etc. Service is great and the place is tidy. Next time when you are in Mangalore do pay a visit here and savour one of the best ice creams in the state.
This place has been our hangout zone ever since we were kids and been to this part of Mangalore. A varieties of ice creams to choose from. The taste is always been up to the mark. But this time when I went to this place I found that the taste was not like the ones we used to have before . things were altered . still for the years of memories with this place I rate it 5/5. had american choconut icream (vanilla ice cream slab with chocolate sauce and lots of nut loaded on top) on my visit to ideal ice cream.Texture was smooth and creamy.
A good place to have short bites and have a little time off wid friends..always jam packed and u wont get much time to sit cuz of d next customer waiting for ur place...but still its a good place to be...once a while visit is always fine...

I had a single scoop of blackcurrant ice cream with cherry on top (Senorita) and it was one of the softest and tastiest ice creams I have ever tried. Must try at least two of them in order to make your taste buds happy.

Machine gun! Yes it's a dish in ideal cafe. Though it's famous for ice creams but machine gun is like the cherry on the top. The coleslaw that's between the buns and the crispy french fries between is just scrumptious. Must try. And it's cheap too. Couldn't rate it lower!
We visited this place as Pabba's ice cream parlour had a long queue. I tried Litchie with Vanilla Ice cream, Ideal special and single scoop of Jackfruit. All 3 tasted great. I look forward to see Ideal ice cream parlour outlet in Bangalore as well.
If you are in Mangalore you shouldn't miss Ideal's Ice cream parlour. The best of ice creams available at a very nominal place in town. Gadbad is a signature dessert. Dry fruit cocktail is a must try item.

Almost hidden amongst the busy market area, this place proves to be more than meets the eye once you enter. Go upstairs for the great ambience, grand ice creams, sandwiches and beverages. Great place to beat the heat with friends!

After shopping on the busy hot streets of mangalore hampankatta, with the sweat pouring down your face and all that humidity this place comes to your rescue. Been here a million times since I was born. An amazing unique ice cream experience you will never get to be a part of anywhere else. I opted for a the gadbad special. Was just out of the world as usual. Three different scoops of ice cream with lots of dry fruits and fresh fruits blended perfectly. You can come to this place over and over again and never get bored. When they speak about mangalore they speak about ideal.
Crowded. Probably one of the few places where you could satisfy you desire for an ice cream. The ambience is not great. Overall it seems fine

Good place for snacks and ice-creams.. Since its near the temple, it's always tempting to go have a quick snack.. Cutlet, samosa, rava dosa are decent enough... Ice-creams are great, many new flavours have been introduced and I love 'em all.. But the few chats and rice items like biryani, fried rice, etc that they offer fails to satisfy lacking in the aroma and taste.. Otherwise, a good place to go with family or friends.. Sometimes the waiters do confuse who ordered what and keep searching, a bit odd, but the ice-creams here come to the rescue to makeup for that shortcoming.. :-)

A must visit in Mangalore. Whenever I come here I make sure to visit this place once. I had Parafait, Ideal's Special Gadbad and Ideal's Special. All of them tasted great. I would still prefer Parfait and Special Gadbad over everything as it feels worth the price. They put atleast 3-4 scoops of ice cream and lots of dry fruits, fruits and jellies along making it a perfect dessert to have.
This joint CLOSES at 8.30PM and not as shown in google at 9pm!!!
At 8.30pm they will direct you to nearby Ideal cafe but ideal cage service is slow..can take 15 min only for ice cream

One of the famous ice cream joints in Mangalore, traditionally has been famous all around India for its Gadbad icecream. This is located in the heart of the city, hence parking is a big problem here. One has to parking their vehicles ( four wheelers) at a far off distance and come walking to this place. They offer plenty of varity in icecreams and snacks which is what makes this place still popular. The place is clean and hygienic. Service is fast. Although, the taste of icecreams are not as good as the ones that are served at their other outlet 'Pabbas'. The prices have been increased drastically over the years. They accept online mobile wallet payment methods also. All in all, its been a good experience. Would surely recommend.

We ordered the ever popular Gudbud (kesar and vanilla ice cream served with jelly, cut-fruits
, and nuts) and Tiramisu. The nuts are probably roasted in ghee, and the flavours are so authentic. The portion is so right for one. Left my taste buds in absolute delight. If you’re in mangalore and you’ve not tried Ideal ice cream, you’re missing out.
Ideal Cream Parlour has variety of icecreams you will really want to try. We tried their signature Gadbad which is very classic and all time favourite along with Chocolate Fantasy which gives good cravings to add to the list.

Ideal Ice Cream has several outlets in the city of Mangalore. I had visited almost all outlets and this is my first experience with " Ideal Cream 🍨🍦 Parlour" located at GHS Road, Hampankatta, Mangaluru.
It was an amazing experience. The food quality and taste were outstanding, and I would definitely give it a 5-star rating. The ice cream flavors were delicious, creamy and refreshing, perfect for the hot climate in Mangalore. Along with the ice cream it's also have snacks, Masala Dosa, Cutlets, French fries, Sandwich etc.
The service speed and quality were also top-notch, the staff were very friendly and attentive, making sure we had a great experience. They were quick to take our orders and served our ice creams promptly. I would give them a 5-star rating for their excellent service.
The ambiance and outlet attractiveness were also great, though I would give it a 4-star rating. The decor was nice and the seating arrangements were comfortable.But there was some noise from the crowd of customers which affected the ambiance.
