A good spread of chicken dishes, the decor there is centred around Mangalore city. Overall, a positive experience.
πBest sea food.. perfect masala..good memories π
Very good place with a delightful array of delicious food items that nicely presented at reasonable prices, prompt service, and reasonable prices as well
We came all the way from Balkunje to balmatta to have food here.
The food was good, but it had too much masala. Would prefer rava fry over masala fry.
Squid masala and surmai tava are worth trying.
Overall experience :

I am sooooo glad I visited this place.
so I ordered Uruval chicken, prawns pulimunchi, Fish rava fry, neer dosa, chicken biryani and some chicken gravy.
The seafood was so fresh and tasty. How I wish such places were in bangalore. Fish rava fry and Uruval chicken were beyond delicious!!
The service was smooth. All these items costed about 3k and 7 adults could eat.
Food :4.5/5
Ambience :3.5/5
Value for money :4/5
Service :3.5/5
Food is good here but the ambience can be better.
Junglee chicken is must try here. Try Tandoor item. This place is know for authentic Mangalorean sea food items. Little bit expensive than I think
Whatever else you get, you gotta try their "cream of mushroom soup"! So good. Great Mangalorean food here, decent ambience, good place for lunch especially!
For authentic Mangalorian cuisine Kudla is always one of the options. Perfect for a family dining experience. But with increasing restaurants in Mangalore, there have been new restaurants to go for. But nevertheless, kudla is still preferred
Exquisite tasty food , best for mangalorean cuisine and starters are classic .... worth a try crispy chicken , mains like chicken biriyani, mix fried rice, Palak Pulav and Hyderabadi chicken and kheema mutton was awesome but the service was quite disappointing at the end of meal
Very yummy pomfret tawa fry fish. The curry served with neer dosa was okay. But fish fry made up for any thing missing from other food. Ambience of this place is okay. I would go there any day for fish fry.
Very nice hotel.. Price is on the lower side compared. Taste is very good. Veg biryani was too tasty.. It is a must try dish. Place is little cozy but decent. Very nice hotel.
Kudla is one of the famous veg restaurants in the centre. I started my 1st day of navratri with Pav Bhaji with Masala Bun served with diced onion and lemon.
Pav Bhaji - Was served hot and had the proper balance of North Indian flavors. It was moderately spicy and was thick with a good amount of veggies.
Masala Bun - It was buttery ( which is a plus plus point for me) and was well coated with a spicy and tangy red masala.
Will definitely suggest to try this dish this navratri.
Also try - Cheese Pav Bhaji.
A good family restaurant. Close to Jyothi circle and very easily accessable..
Ambience was good with decent lighting.
Has good spread of seafood, chicken and vegetarian dishes. We ate chicken ghee roast, neer dosa , angal masala fry, fish curry and boiled rice.
Ambience -3.5
Food-4
Value for money -3.5
Overall experience-4.
Must try: chicken ghee roast with neer dosa .
All in all it was a good experience.
One of the best experience their dishes are so yumm and so tasty it never fails to retain the customer. their customer service is best. It is one of the restaurant one must go and try their dishes.
Recommend - Palak paneer (so yum we wiped the bowl clean), prawn chili and prawn Biryani.
Servers were nice and attentive. There is a waiting area as well with seating.
A decent place near Jyothi circle. The location is good but parking is confusion. They also have parking option behind the hotel but no clear information is shared. The menu is wide spread with North Indian, South Indian & Chinese. Tandoori starter are good. I liked the tandoori chicken. Overall good experience.

This is a place which serves authentic Mangalorean Cuisine . They serve the best Ghee roast (Mutton, Chicken, Panner or Babycorn). I always prefer neer dosa and chicken ghee roast. Its a place where they serve good quantity. So if you visit this place then dont forget to order Ghee roast or Urval.
Situated in the heart of the city, this restaurant provides you with the authentic Mangalorean cuisine. Fish masala and squid ghee roast are yum. Marwai pundi is a must try. Not to forget the delicious biryani's. Though a little overpriced but its worth the pay. The only complaint is the staff not quite attending, and also lights not fit for a family restaurant.
Kudla- derived from name Kodial in Konkani means Mangalore. This place serves authentic South Indian food. We ordered for Surmai Tawa Fry, Chicken Ghee Roast, Neer Dosa with Kori. Food was excellent, couldnβt have asked for anything better. Staff was polite and honest. We had thought that we might require to order for more dishes but he politely declined and asked us to check the quantity before adding anything more. Quantity was perfect.
Staff: 5/5 for their politeness and honesty
Ambiance: 4/5 V Good but can be a bit brighter
Food: 5/5 for taste, quantity.
Value for money.
Mangalore surprised me. I always knew it was a paradise for food lovers, but was I in for a shock to see how serious the food business is here.. There's probably a restaurant/tea kiosk every few kilometers serving a wonderful meal. Our very friendly auto chap suggested Kudla to us for a Mangalore experience.. And though I'm sure there must be better and more authentic restaurants out there... Kudla did us well too. We ordered Fish Masala, Mutton Ghee roast, Neer dosa, koti roti and some drinks to wash it all down and lemme me say it beforehand.. We totally forgot our drinks through the wonderful, spicy and scrumptious meal. The fish was spicy, moist and generously spread with masala. The Neer dosa, koti roti and mutton ghee roast took the cake though. The dosa was just so perfect, so light, lightly sweet and made for an apt accompaniment with the rich and succulent mutton ghee roast. The food here took my heart.
The ambience, however was wanting, for a family restaurant. The dingy look did not do much for the restaurant bursting with kids and family.
In so far as the staff was concerned, they seemed grounded, helpful and warm.
Overall, kudla just convinced me to plan an exclusive trip to Mangalore in the near future.
Visited this place for breakfast while on our way back to Bangalore. The restaurant is a three floor setup. I believe they have separate sections for veg and non veg. The ambience is simple and good. We ordered Masala dosa, Idli, Mangalore buns and Veg Pulao. Food on the whole was descent and good. Sambar could have been better. Food is reasonably priced and service was quick.
I go out with my family for dinner once every week. Kudla is our first choice most of the time. It's not because the food is excellent. The food is good. But like the pricing here. The ambience is good too. Don't order chopueys and other American or Chinese dishes here. They are not as good as some of the other restaurants in the locality. Try their Mangalorean dishes like the chicken ghee roast and the seafood. These are my favorites.
Good place for a decent meal. The ambience isnt that great because of the dim lighting which makes the restaurant look so dark. We ordered for lady fish (kaane) curry, chicken biryani and kori rotti. The food was appetizing and the portions were great.
A nice place to have an outing decent atmosphere, though service is not that good but food items are quite tasty. Speciality is ghee roast mutton, Other items are decent as well.
Was having a great expectations looking at the name which means mangalore. Nothing much to match the name it self. Needs lot of improvement

Best place for good food in Mangalore. Loved the food, the options and the service. Do visit the place next time your thinking of a day out.
Authentic south Indian food. Reasonably priced. Offers good variety of dosas. Really yummy crispy on the outside soft on the inside vada if you have it in the morning. Nice filter coffee to go along with every dish you order here.
I went mangalore on a trip last weekend. It was eid. We went for dinner. Location is nice near to jyoti circle balmatta...we have to wait three for 30min as it was rushed.. Finally we got place.. We have ordered hara bhara kabab, vegetable biriyani and paner tufani.. Food was delicious. Cost was good.. I liked it.. I ll definitely go to this restaurant in future if I go mangalore
Had the chicken ghee roast with naan. Chicken is delicious, (cheese?) naan(which had no cheese on it, or maybe they messed up our order) was a bit chewy but garlic nan was yum so order that
What more can you expect from a restaurant in south India which serves North Indian food. But this place denies this fact. They serve North Indian food which not only tastes great but even makes you lick your finger.
The best place for every kind of food and drinks. I ordered Kadai Paneer, Dal Tadka and Tandoori Rotis, which had lovely taste. A must visit food space in Mangalore.
Good quality n quantity food is served here to make your tammi khushπ
I love paneer biryani, curd rice, daal khichdi they serve hereπ Presentation as well as the food here will definitely make you visit this place again π
Ambience is good, service is fast and Food is awesome.. Neer Dosa, Kori rotti with Curry tastes delicious. Couldn't eat much but definitely will be coming back to this place again..
This is the go to restaurant for college students and travellers. Situated at the busy street of Balmatta, it's a good restaurant.
I always go for their Chicken Biryani, Butter Chicken, Mix Veg and Butter Naan.
The staff and service is great.
One of my favourite restaurants. Amazing mangalorean food served.Must visit if you are in Mangalore. My favourite is the Chicken tawa fry. The prices are also reasonable.
One of the best restaurants in the area for having good food with your family. The place is pretty huge and offers a variety of Cuisines ranging from Chinese to Manglorean. The Chicken Tiranga Starter was a paisa vasool dish and should be on your list whenever you visit this place. The alcohol prices are reasonable and the taxes are also not that heavy on the drinks. The Golconda Wine was my pick for the lunch and would be recommended by me if you are a wine lover. In the Main Course you can try authentic manglorean dishes with neer dosa. The Chicken Briyani served here is fabulous and worth a try.The only bad part is the service, the service is slow and the staff is unaware of the dishes on the menu. This should be looked upon to make this place better.
Overall a great restaurant for a great family dining experience.
I would have given it 4 but service took a bit of time... but then again it was really crowded. Food is delicious. Try the butter chicken ,chicken tikka and ghee roast with nan . Droool
A great place for authentic mangalorean cuisine. The ambience is acceptable and the staff are well mannered. Tried the spicy crab meat soup and it was good, the star of the show was the chicken ghee roast.. simply splendid . The chicken urwal was also great. The only thing that disappointed me was the chicken biriyani.. Both in terms of taste and quantity. They also have a variety of mock tails. Overall a good experience. Definitely recommend the ghee roast.
We visited Mangalore last year dasheera. When enquired about authentuc Mangalore sea food the staff at the hotel we stayed suggested Kudla.
The restaurant is really spacious, and theyβre a lot of people here, especially family crowds. The staffs were really spontaneous and courteous . They explained well about different dishes which weβre not familiar with. Finally, we decided to try Neer Dosa with mangalore Chicken Curry, kori roti with mangalore chicken curry Masala Fried Fish, Prawn Biryani and other dishes. The food had beautiful, bold flavors, and I really admired the aromas of spices used in all dishes.
again, been here with fam.
i just cant wait to talk about the staff, super excellent well behaved humble staff i just love them.
food - great.
ambiance - awesome
overall a good place to visit with fam.
Undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in mangalore by all means
Right in the heart of the city .very hygienic, super quality local seafood & very economical π
Ordered for silver fish tawa fry& koddai (croaker fish)tawa fry both were amazing π
For main course we had silverfish curry π with neerdosa &marwai pundi(rice balls mixed with clam π)were excellent on top of it we had kudla special gadbad &that was a feast π
Worth every penny we spent would love to visit again when ever in mangalore πππ
A must try restaurant in mangalore for π seafood &local delicacies π¦πππ
A perfect place to catch the authenticity of mangalore-kudla. The restaurant is actually famous for serving the best mangalorean food in town...but i dont completely agree. Their ghee roast is a "must-have". Their fish frys and briyani are quite appreciated too. Apart from that well mannered staff with a good ambiance. The place is generally full especially during weekends for dinner. Hence a advance booking might come in handy. Idealy suited for family dinner time. Good food. Good staff. :)
Good ambience . Customer friendly and happy to assist always . Neat serving. Been there couple of times for lunch . The staff is welcoming and treats you well until you leave the place . The ambience is also good . Dark tone matches the delicious food they serve.
This place has the amazing food I have never been dissapointed I have had the neer dosa chicken chilli ghee roast squid dry fry.all of this was just sooo good, this is a place I would keep coming back too.
excellent place for a descent Mangalorian cuisine. Ambiance, service, food variety, taste and value for money wise, in every aspect this hotel good. Anjal Tawa fry, masala fry along with a mug of beer, an awesome combination. Β Good seating arrangements. The ambiance is perfect to have a romantic dinner with your loved one. Β Definitely a place that can be recommended to someone without a second thought
Kudla restaurant.
Location: just exactly opposite to Jyothi circle bus stand.
This place is well known for sea food, is what I heard from my friends. They have vegetarian restaurant in ground floor and non veg at second level which is air conditioned. We can reach the second level in their elevator installed. So no issue for elderly people.
If u want to have food with some good side dishes here, the cost will be π²πΈπ°π³ nearly 1000bucks for two. But Zomato says just 400 for two. It really carries high value price tag for its sea food dishes. Be careful when u order dish from menu whose cost mentioned as seasonal here, they all are around 400bucks each.
Ambience, was good for a family dine in or friends hangout. But I feel that the lighting inside the dining hall was not comfortable. It would have been better for good dining experience. ππ
We were not in a mood to start with soup, so jumped into main course directly. We ordered one egg biriyani, chicken biriyani, fish biriyani all the biriyani was same in taste wise, just the content differs. So it was just OK, not very impressive. But to mention side dishes were outstanding here in this place i.e. sea food alone.
I ordered chicken sukka, I dint like it a lot πand even to mention I'm chicken biriyani, the meat of chicken was not at all good. So it's better to avoid chickenπππ£ over here.
π’π’I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ONLY SEA FOOD πππ³π π‘πππ¦π¬πDISHES. π’π’
IN Sea food dishes we tried anjal fish fry, yeah it was awesome with some spicy masala on it. ππ, next it was prawn tawa fry and yes baby I loved it againπππππ.
This sides dishes only made my day here.
Overall happy with sea food dishes but unhappy with chicken dishes, lighting and pricing over here.
Decent place.
Best for mangalore food.
Nice service.
Pocket friendly with food varieties.
.
Pretty decent ambiance coupled with great food. The seafood served here is awesome. The north India dishes as well as the soups are good. Cocktails were ok.
Kudla the other name of Mangalore..One of the best place for south Indian or the Mangalore style food..kudla special masala dhosa is just awesome..spacious sitting arrangement, located in the prime location of Mangalore. The staffs are little ignorant..pocket friendly place with a wide variety of menu to offer
I along with my friends have been to this restaurant many times. Its not too expensive and the ghee roast here is to die for. If you are visiting this restaurant do try out the chicken ghee roast as a starter, you will not regret it!
The new veg restaurant has lived upto the expectations.... Taste wise it's on par with the non vegetarian restaurant..... But the only remark I would make is on the seating arrangement.... Seems to be a minor setback.... The service is prompt.... Was a happy customer.... Looking forward to more visits.....
Kudla means Mangalore in Tulu and this restaurant not only serves mangalorean specialities for lunch and dinner serves quality north india cuisine. The variety they have in their menu is amazing and the food taste is quality is excellent.
Ambience was great but some of the staff were a little laggy. (That was a kind of a big minus)
Chicken Tikka Masala : loved it, they used the right cuts of meat and also, and a little bit of more grilling to the tikka might have made it better, the flavor would have stuck in to the chicken, giving it a better texture and feel.
Chicken Lolipop : as regular, on point.
Garlic Naan : lovely piece of work, not burnt unlike many other places.
Food was very good and tasty...I visited many times when I was studying in Mangalore... Non veg was very nice...I liked it so much..........
Craving for the Squid ghee roast never ends.
Kudla doesn't seemlike a very big restaurant from outside, but the foood
Chicken biryani, chicken sukka, chicken tava fry, naati koli(chicken) pulimunchi, paneer manchurian are good and tasty.
Chicken ghee roast was not bad. It was too sweet.
The food was really good! The prawn tastes amazing! Service was also very good! The only thing that is miss leading is its not 400βΉ for 2 people! Its one prawn dish for 400βΉ!
This has been a place for our familys ' talk over dinner sessions '!!! good service.. a large family space .. would be great if you guys expand or have a branch .. had to wait quite a few times due to a crowd ..!!! clearly a crowd puller . Excellent chicken . Nd my personal favourite squid dishes are really good .
The best place in Mangalore for coastal cuisine.
Prawn ghee roast, chicken uruwal, chicken biryani have been our favs ever since we first went to Kudla. Kori rotti wasn't thay great.
This place has nice decor and service is decent.
The only not-so-nice thing about this place is that you have to pass by a bar which is located on the ground floor since the restaurant is on the first floor.
Had Prawns Masala Fry, Steamed Rice which was very delicious. Good service and ambience. The quality of the rice was even better. Keep it up!!
I have ordered for a home delivery.
It took half an hour ti deliver the food.
What I tried was chicken biriyani and King fish fry(anjal).
Chicken biriyani was fantastic, it had a boiled egg too which is very rare to see now a days along with the biriyani.
The biriyani was not dry rice,it was very juicy with more than enough Masala.
Biriyani jad the taste of all the spice and essence added, till having the biriyani from kudla restaurant I tought in mangalore we won't get good biriyani.
But we get good biriyani in kudla restaurant.
The king fish (anjal),I ordered a Masala fish.
The fish was with enough Masala.
Fished was enough spicy but had the taste of leaf added more than the taste of fish.
The restaurant should avoid use of leaves in fish Masala.
The fish was big according to price.
This restaurant is a must try for all people who comes to mangalore.
I'm glad I finally visited this place after three and a half years of living in Mangalore. Totally worth it. Went there with my team after playing a very tiring match in the sun and ended up ordering a bajillion drinks. Fresh juices were actually fresh, the lassi was also nice and decent in quantity.
Then next we ordered Chicken Ghee roast -Neer Dosa and Biryanis. The Biryani is okay. Actually believe average I'll say. But if I ever crave Ghee Roast and Neer Dosa again, this is the place I'm going to!! Both the items were really yumm.
Ambience: Don't expect anything fancy. A very basic normal family restaurant.
Service is good though.
Authentic hot and well made Mangalore food.π . Chicken sukka was really great.crab here is really well prepared in spicy gravy. A must try for sea food lover. Service is just okay..also it's not very highly priced.
Please make reservations for finding a seat at rush hours!
This has become the most favorite non veg food hangout place of our family. Everything is delicious here. I have tried the crispy chicken, veg spring rolls, squid chilly, squid masala fry, butter chicken and chicken fried rice. Egg noodles is particularly excellent. The service is excellent and ambiance is pretty decent.
Kudla is one of the many names that Mangalore City has. This particular best represents the non - veg especially the chicken preparations of the city.
The entrance is a narrow one and the ambience is not something very pleasing to the eyes.
However , you can consider Kudla as an option for dinner since the looks pleasant in the dimming lights.
Don't bother to order anything other than non- vegetarian dishes. Every time I have my friends /colleagues visit my city and intend to hog on authentic chicken delicacies I take them to Kudla.
The kori - roti, chicken sukka, fish rava fry , urwal preparations will be loved by your taste buds.
This is one place where you can give the desserts a miss.
Lovely place to have satisfying meals with proper ambience and fine seating.
Service is good as we had ordered chicken ghee roast with no complaints, only found a little added coloring. Mutton biryani was excellent in taste with soft chewy pieces and good masalas used. Overall found this place perfect and we enjoyed the entire lunch with sipping aerated drinks. A place to be remembered.
Really good family restaurant in Jyoti circle, Mangalore. Seats and atmosphere is good. They have a vegetarian as well as non vegetarian restaurants nearby. I tried the vegetarian one.
Nice restaurant. Ambience is good. Serves wide variety of veg and non veg dishes.
Soup is good but if you don't like spicy, go for creamy soups.
Only drawback is the location. Parking is not available all time. No security available to help you to park at road.
Tasty food and variety. This place serves very good non veg options especially the Biryani. We loved the food here.
Vegetarians might feel out of place here as it smells of non-veg.
The food is good. The ambience is good. The prices are fair.
Very nice place for foodies, cabins are there . Best place for both veg and non veg lovers, service is very good. Happy to visit.

A well maintained restaurant in Jyothi Circle Mangalore. The place is much clean and neat. They serve all kinds of food like North Indian, South Indian and Chinese Styled foods. The people who serve the food ate kind enough not to make us hurry. The food quality is best in and around. The place is much crowded and we have to wait for our order to be served. If you are in hurry, this is not a suggestion for you. The price is not too high, but moderate. If you visit Mangalore next time, you can surely have a visit to "KUDLA" for lunch or an evening snack.
Food taste goods, time for service is bit delayed, but the ambience was good, seasonal fish dishes are expensive other wise affordable prices, lassi was stomach filling
Nice food, bang near Jyothi bus stop. Provides veg n non veg , good part is both are separately operated in different floor - Veg ;- π don't worry.
They also have a juice n chat counter. While the food is tasty, n come at competitive prices. However juice and chat are costly n not worth.
I took a journey break at mangalore central while going to Kerala. During a chit chat, the officer at the railway station luggage room suggested this restaurant for chicken ghee roast and neer dosa. I had mutton biriyani, neer dosa and chicken ghee roast. You can just have neer dosa as such. Very authentic and tasty.
It was family dinner. Service was quick. Food was good in taste though quantity was less. Manchow chicken soup was served hot and tasty. Mutton pepper fry was good in taste but mutton pieces were very less. Mutton biriyani was good in taste too. Overall worth visiting the placeπ
