I visited this restaurant yesterday. Amazing place located in Mangalore with a pleasant ambience. I think the actual wealth of the restaurant is their staff . They maintain their courteous staff as well. The way they served us was actually great. All are good food ,staff, Ambience. Now coming to food- we tried sea food -1.pomfret tawa
2.fish meal
Both the dishes are amazing and any nonvegetarian wish to taste it.so please visit this restaurant once in a life .
Thank you.
This place is really awesome šš» it's very reasonably priced and all the dishes are bang on target and brilliant. Fantastic place to have lunch/dinner with family. I highly recommend the place to seafood lovers who travel long distances to have some awesome, tasty and fresh seafood šš»
Yesterday me and my family visited shetty lunch home. It was nice place with beautiful ambience.
The staff was very supportive for introducing the menu.
We ordered
Bangda masala fry
Anjal masala fry
Machi special thali
All the dishes was very yummy and mouthwatering. The special thali including squid ghost fry, anjal tawa fry, Prawns curry and neer dosa.
Ambience:- 5/5
Food:- 5/5
Watch and campare the food dishes it will clearly shows you this restaurant is different from other restaurants in mangalore
Shetty lunch home is a place that has every Mangalorean's heart. The food served here is authentic to the city's coastal vibe while the seating gives you a glimpse of an old world charm. The staff here is extremely polite and service is quick; which makes it an even better eating out experience.
Coming to the food; we ordered a seafood thali to get a tiny bit of all of their dishes that they had to offer.
The seafood thali had the following items-
ā¢squid ghee roast
ā¢anjal tawa fry(kingfish)
ā¢clamps curry
ā¢dried fish chutney
ā¢sandige( crackers)
ā¢rasam
ā¢sabji
ā¢pickle
ā¢buttermilk
ā¢rice
ā¢prawn curry
ā¢neer dosa
All the items on the plattter screamed coastal flavours; with their generous coconut flavour andbthe freshness of the sea. My absolute favourite had to be the squid ghee roast; which just melted in your mouth!
All in all; the dining experience at shetty lunch home was an absolute treat! It's a definite must visit if authentic Mangalorean flavours is what you're looking for
I m a big fan of Anupamās coast to coast located in Bangalore. I was not aware that Shetty lunch house was also part of Anupamās, till I paid a visit this time.
We were here for lunch last week. Tried their fish thali, kingfish tawa fry, prawns rava fry, crab ghee roast, neer dosa, veg meals, kori roti, mango lassi. Loved everything we had from here. Prawns rawa fry was super crisp and tasted fresh and yumm. The crab ghee roast had the perfect rich ghee roast masala. Both the meals were delicious. The fish thali had variety of fish preparations, unlike the usual one fish curry in a thali. Kori roti was so good here, itās a must have just like everything else we had!
Service was good too.
Amazing food and value for money ... The best place for traditional Mangalorean food... Must try is thier Ghee Roast which is a signature dish and also the fish curry rice was yummiest... This is definitely a place you would want to visit again.
Prawns ghee roast is like heaven.. Spicy and balanced with ghee.. Anjal tava fry is yummm... With a glass of wine.. Just complets the whole experience...
In my attempt to try out well-known FISH PLACES for I m sucker for seafood
I landed in @shettylunchhome located in Hampankatta .
Decent place which is one of Go-to place for most of the mangaloreans I must say
And truly agree with it š¤
.
GHEE ROAST SQUID on my plate was scrumptious and I went on hogging so much all by myself š
And couldn't get enough of it š¤Ŗ
.
RAWA FRY (banguda) gave me complete home feels and nostalgia
Although I don't prefer bony fishes
I enjoyed this one š
And to complete my meal I had the Veg thali as my main .
For more core mangalorean's style dishes follow @sweet_walks
Also I m open to suggestions !
Please do let me know of best authentic places to hog from (since I m new in the city) in the comments .

Visited this place after reading reviews online. The sea food thali was out of the world. Kori Rotti was amazing. Would recommend this place to all who visit Mangalore
Nothing... just everything was absolutely at its best yummy fresh...5 stars & must try kinda place ,if you are looking for coastal cuisine... just fab !!!!!
Growing up in Mangalore, there were few, if any, restaurants that served local cuisines (theĀ threeĀ majorĀ beingĀ the Konkana,Ā theĀ BuntĀ andĀ theĀ Catholic)Ā that one could recommend to non Mangaloreans. located across the road from Don Bosco Hall (the home of Konkan Natak Sabha, a cultural bastion of the Konkani Catholic community), Shetty Lunch Home single handedly revolutionized the food landscape of Mangalore. Serving delicacies in the Tulu/Bunt style of cooking, the restaurant specializes in sea food. Among the best bets here are the fish thali,Ā Bangude (mackerel) tawa fry, bolenjere (silver fish) rawa fry, neer dosas, and the all popular Chicken ghee roast, a firey red semi gravy chicken dish, dripping with the goodness of ghee.Ā
I can, with confidence, few restaurants have lived up to high quality standards consistently like Shetty Lunch Home has. Everytime I travel back to Bangalore, the owners are kind enough to pack a tub of ghee roast well enough to survive a nuclear Holocaust. The restaurant is an evergreen favourite for both locals and tourists alike.Ā
Pics: Mackerel/bangude tawa masala, silver fish/ bolenjere rawa fry, special sea food thali (Anjali/kingfish masala fry, pickle, butter milk, dry prawns chutney, Sol Kodi/punapuli saaru, vegetable, marwai/clam sukka, squid ghee roast, prawns curry, with red rice and meet Dosa in the center)
Do's : Ghee roast, Kori Rotis
Don'ts : everything else.. ( anything after the ghee roast will not impress you much )
Yes, this place is so hyped for their Chicken Ghee roast (absolutely top notch).. You won't be disappointed at all if you are a first timer.. The service as everybody else mentioned was super quick... (Some said they showed attitude, did not encounter anything as such)
Here are my ratings.

Ambiance - No complaints.. Yet nothing fancy (we took the one on the first floor with a view of the road), you also have a Ac family dining.. but we preferred the former.
Lunch order closes @ 3.30
Conclusion : Must visit for the very first line of this review
PS : Though a recommended place for their seafood dishes n thali we dint try anything as the price were on the higher side due to the monsoon.
Hope this helps..
Lovely food and ambience. A fine dine place serving authentic Mangalorean cuisine. Ghee roast is a must try and the seafood thali a no-miss if you visit here. Trust me you will not be disappointed.
Great restaurant . Must try chicken ghee roast. Biriyani not that great . but Ghee roast biriyani is yum. You can never find a better chicken ghee roast than this
Fish tali is one nice combo .. squid gheee roast is the best..all sea food items tastes yumm ..must visit place in manglore..affordable price ..quick service
Good place for satisfying your seafood cravings in Mangalore. We tried the Kori Rotti, Banguda Pulimunchi with Neer Dosa. The rice crisps were really well made and tasted amazing when dipped in the spicy chicken curry. The Pulimunchi was little too much on tomatoes , the fish however tastes super fresh. Pricing is very reasonable and service is decent. Recommended.
I have visited and ordered from this restaurant multiple times. They have beautiful ambiance and their Chicken Ghee Roast is the best!
Must try out their fish fries too!
Good on taste, lovely ambiance and reasonable price for the quality of food..
Shetty lunch home is one of the recommended places to try some authentic Mangalorean food. On my last visit to Mangalore last weekend we paid a visit to the place and were fairly impressed. We tried kori rotti and bangude pulimunchi with neer dose.
Kori (chicken curry) and rotti (dried pieces of rotti - a Mangalore delicacy) is the best one I ever had and I strongly recommend it ššššš
Bangude (mackerel) pulimunchi (Mangalore style curry) was yummy to and goes well with neer dose. šššš
Shetty's have two sections, I really loved the ambiance of the non-ac section as it is more open, airy and properly lit. They also have an ac section at the back.
Iconic place from Kundapura has a branch in Mangalore too so on my recent visit to the city,I made sure to pay a visit there. Ambiance is nice and airy. Loved their kori roti, bangude pulimunchi & neer dosa. Kori roti was amazing.. flavourful and perfectly done. The fish was fresh and complimented the neer dosa well. Service took its own sweet time but we were in no hurry so had a relaxed meal. Very reasonable pricing. It seems their ghee roast & fish thalis are quite popular. Must visit.
Having Chicken ghee roast from the place of its origin is all together an amazing experience! Many restaurants have tried to replicate this dish and none of them could ever get close to the lip smacking taste that @shettylunchhome could produce.
Chicken ghee roast is basically Huge chunks of chicken cooked in a decent amount of ghee and luscious masala made with the perfect combination of spices. Neer dosa and chicken ghee roast is the deadliest combination everš„Never miss out trying this dish during your visit to the Shetty Lunch Home
We are from Agra and have come to Mangalore for vacations. Had heard so much about Shetty Lunch Home finally had dinner here today.
Mr. Shetty knew my father in law as they were classmates since Mr. Shetty is no more his daughter Ms. Uma and his Son-in-law were more than welcoming to us.
Now lets talk about the food.
In drinks, i ordered virgin mojito which was very refreshing,
In starters, we ordered Chicken malai tikka which was just delicious.
In main course, my husband ordered the fish thali as he is a lover of sea food as per him each n every item on the plate was just lip smacking. His favorite from the thali was squid ghee roast. The servings in the thali were quite generous. Two people can easily share one thali.
Myself ordered chicken ghee roast with neer dosa. It was out of the world.
All and all it was a great meal just the way it should be for anyone.
Thank you Ms. Uma and Mr. Harish for taking care of us.
100% recommend to visit this place. Should be on the "To do list" for anyone visiting Mangalore.
Sorry didn't take pictures of any of the food items :(
Recommend this place for the fish thali they serve. So delicious and worth the price. Also it is very popular for Mangalorian sukka, ghee roast, pepper garlic, available with chicken, mutton and sea food variants, these dishes are worth it. Also fish tandoor are absolutely delicious and a must try..
Pomfret tandoor - Fingerlicking, lemony and filled with flavor. Seasonal and expensive.
Mutton Pepper Dry :
Simple in ingredients and recipe, but tastes incredibly good.
Just love how grounded pepper, garlic, red dry chillies and the Curry leaves bring in so much of flavor to it. Totally recommend this one.
Goes beautifully with rice and roti ā¤ļø
Nice place for coastal and sea food !! And cosy atmosphere!! I recommend everyone to please try out this place and enjoy it !! Crowded during weekends!!
Tq u for best food and good delivered
Loved veg and mutton curry. All the items super.ššš
Chicken biryani ws nice kids.even chicken curry š
Amazing place , Loved the Chicken Ghee Roastš„ The service was quick , Good place for family . Sea-food thali is also preferable . Lollipop was nice and juicy as well.
ghee roast king, the original inventor of the authentic cuisine with mellow environment and surroundings a perfect place for lunch or dinner

One of the best SEAFOOD THALI Iāve ever tasted! Best place for lunch with family. Nothing more to say than the food quality and quantity they serve š The Thali consisted of squid, seashells, fish, veg, Dosa and rice and other things.
Price: Rs 380
The best seafood thali I have ever had. Food quality is excellent. Staff are attentive and ambiance is also good. My parents and I chose to sit the AC room and really enjoyed our meal. We ordered additional fish fry too along with the Thali
Will definitely go back when I'm on holidays
Chicken ghee is must have. It just melts in your mouth š. The fish thali would taste amazing to any sea food lover(I am not a big sea fiod lover so it tasted okay to me). The big fish thali platter had squid, prawn, fish, rice, neer dosa among other things. But, chicken ghee roast is must have.
Ghee roast super.Ghee roast super.Ghee roast super.
Ghee roast super.Ghee roast super.Ghee roast super.
Ghee roast super.Ghee roast super.Ghee roast super.
The food was really nice and also in the center of the city so feasible for NITK students also! Kerala parotha was just class and can go with any gravy. Still i didn't like chicken ghee(maybe they sent me a burnt one) but overall experience was nice.
Always wanted to taste mangalorean delicacies. Had an opportunity to visit Mangalore in the recent past. Had a wonderful experience in the Shetty lunch home. In lunch in had Neer Dosa along b with some chicken curry which was supposedly made from country chicken. It was indeed tasty. In starters I had squid sukka and ghee roast chicken. Since I didn't eat fish here so I visited this placed again for dinner and had pomfret fry as suggested by the captain. Liked the taste and experience of Mangalore cuisine nonetheless.
About ambience, it was nothing much but still this place had a typical charm about it. The staff was really courteous and friendly.
That's all folks !

How many of you love Sea Food?
Coastal food is the best in India is what I think. The best is when you get it in the form of a Thai.

Name indicates the food they serve... It's a bar and restaurants, but family rooms are available and u will get awesome seafood dishes like curry, dry and fry items..
I recommend their fish fry.
Food is very tasty, ambience and service is awesomeš
Ghee roast is the best Must try with Neer dosa.
Squid pepper dry and fish fry are too fresh and deliciousš
One of a kind, serving authentic Mangalorean food since ages. Shettys invented the famous Ghee roast so the most authentic taste is served here. A place which is a delight for all- vegetarians, sea food lovers and meat lovers. Visit if you are in a look for authentic South Indian food. š
Excellent Mangalorean delicacies!! Tasty food and good service. Kori Roti and butter chicken were delicious! Delivery orders are neatly packed . Love this place !
In a nutshell, This place is good but with so many better places in the vicinity i wouldn't recommend going to this place if you are just looking for good seafood and the service is so mediocre that you might as well help yourself ! However if you are looking to have a drink along this place is perfect !
We had heard quite a lot of Shetty lunch home from kundapur and how they first introduced the chicken ghee roast. So when we looked at this place we were excited to try it out.
The decor of this place is decent and very cosy, It is perfect for large families and couples. Nothing too fancy.
We ordered the prawn ghee roast and chicken sukka for starters... The Prawn ghee roast was cooked really well and the flavors were very well balanced. The Chicken sukka was cooked to perfection the flavors were ingrained in every bite of the dish.
For the main course we ordered the kori rotti and it was cooked really well, The gravy was thin and tasted amazingly well with the roti! The chicken was cooked really well and the flavors tingled your taste buds with every bite.
The only issue with this place was the service was really pathetic and we had to literally remind our guy what was missing every time we placed an order. However the other tables had flawless service so i am guessing it was just our guy who was in his own world.
Simply Awesome!! Easily the best seafood restaurant I have been to.
For starters we had the Kane Masala Fry; Chicken Ghee Roast and they were fabulous dishes.
Prawn Pulimunchi and boiled rice was a great combination and seafood Thali was brilliant.
Absolutely delicious and highly recommended. Definitely visit if you are in town..
Had been to dinner and the service was amazing. Crab ghee roast, clams sukka ( don't miss this)šš , anjal fish masala fry, Kori roti with chicken were all so good that I would like to visit the place again very soon.
People who love sea food must visit this place.š¤
Nice and cool interiors. They are known for their signature dish, ghee roast. It was in the kitchen of Shetty Lunch Home where ghee roast was born. Got to say, nobody does it better than them. Do try it out. And the tawa veg also tasted great. It was juicy. For the main course I had veg keema rice which had a nice ghee touch to it, very aromatic and tasty. 5 stars with my eyes closed.
So we found this restaurant while searching for authentic Mangalorean food, ordered Ghee roast for starters. Every dish we ordered here was awesome. Very good service
Nice food egg pepper chilly and anjal fry and biriyani was good . On Sundays you get nati chicken and seme, good food over all. Good ambiance.
Finally Visited @shettylunchhome Today. I Have Heard A Lot About These Guys From A Very Long Time And Somehow Today I've Made It Here For Lunch ā¤
The Menu Include's:
1) Chicken Ghee Roast (Half) - Rs 260
2) Ghee Rice - Rs 160
The Last Time That I've Had Chicken Ghee Roast Was From Maharaja 5 Years Back And Today After Years I Was Finally Satisfied With My Cravings To Have The Best Ghee Roast In Mangalore. It Was Spiced To Perfection, It Consisted Of Large Chicken Pieces And The Masala Was Heavenly. It Did Consist A Lot Of Oil Though. This Dish Is A Recommended One By A Lot Of People Including Me So Do Try Their Amazing Ghee Roast.
The Ghee Rice Mixed With The Ghee Roast Was Sublime But I Did Not Like Having Raisins In My Food And I Had To Separate Every Single One Of Them To Enjoy The Ghee Rice.

Putting the food on the global map is Shetty Lunch Home from Mangaluru know for their innovative dish Ghee roast. Originally said to have started in Kundapur, Shetty Lunch Home now houses Anupam- An Air-conditioned restaurant and a sprawling new lounge Infiniti.
The secret recipe of the famous ghee roast is said to have been passed on from generations and currently run by the third generation Mr. Harish Shetty. The menu is a mix of Indian, Chinese, North Indian, Seafood, Manglorean etc. The menu is extensive with items such as Chicken ghee roast, Anjal tava fry, Chicken butter garlic (creamy sweet and buttery garlicky), Silver rava fry, Kane tawa fry, Chicken sukka, Mushroom ghee roast, Paneer chilly, Chicken pepper dry crispy, Baby corn uruval, Neerdosa
Bangude tandoori, Mutton Keshava, White chicken kurma, Ghee rice, Seafood Thali etc. The menu has a wide choice for vegetarians too.
The relaxed ambiance of Anupam, the ac multi cuisine restaurant is inviting. The music is light. The service is swift. The decor is minimal and all the focus is on the food.
Infiniti is a sprawling lounge bar with heady cocktails, quirky liquor and an extensive food menu. It is the way you want it to be. Leather seats, open bar, light music: perfect for a private party or loud get together.
Vegetarians like me won't be disappointed either. Bring on the food!
For quick grabs on those traditional slow cooked meals, this is where you belong. The ambience is friendly, not the best interiors, but it can be stepped over when the food arrives the table.
Nice restaurant. Mangalorean speciality. Kori rooti and Buttermilk is a must try here. Other food items are also good. Fry fish is recommended.
A good place to visit once in a while.
A yummy place for authentic Manglorean Shetty Style food. Located in Balmatta, close to liquid lounge, this place is a nice place to stay binge on some great sea food and some great chicken Ghee roast.
My wife and I went there for lunch. We had the Crab Ghee roast, the Nang ( Sole Fish ) Masala Fry, and a piece of the Chicken Ghee roast . We ordered the traditional Neer dosa to go with it, which were yum, but also experimented with some Kadak Rotis with it, and the combination was delicious.
We ended up packing another portion of Crab Ghee roast.
When we received the bill we we're astonished as to how reasonable the food was. All the above put together, with a bottle of water, and two fresh like sodas, came up to just Rs 1150.
All in all a fantastic place for good old Manglorean fare and total value for money.
Wonderful food.. I ordered enjal masala fry and neer dosa with Kundapura chicken.. the taste was exquisite.. definitely coming back here.. value for money is good. Definitely recommend it to people who want to try local Mangaluru cuisine
Nice seafood joint in the heart of the city! Ambience wise is not that great but you can expect good and fresh food here. One of the joints where I would return as Mangalore has a lot of potential good sea food!
Shetty lunch home is one of the best sea food restaurant I have visited in manglore which offers you the best authentic seafood at level best
As I mentioned the food taste is out of the world
Specially prawns and fish absolutely mesmerizing
Service is also very good, ambeince is perfect match to the name of restaurant
Over all a great place to visit with freinds and family, Defenatley recommended and looking forward to visit again and again
One must try Crab Ghee roast. Marwai sukkha was ok. Kane fish was fresh & rava fry was well done. Nominal price. I highly recommend it.
This is one of the most famous and oldest restaurants in Mangalore. Earlier called as Anupam and now called as Shetty's lunch home under the name of Anupam. The food is good. We tried Neer Dose with Chicken Ghee Roast, anjal (surmai) tawa fry, bondas (squid) masala fry, marwai (clams) sukka, masala papad and special veg thali which was custom made for one of our family members who is a pure vegetarian. The owner is very humble and friendly and goes overboard to make customers happy. Inspite of choosing to be seated in family AC room, the bill was very affordable. We spent 2000 for table of 5.
Taste was good.
Recommended: chicken ghee roast, Neer dose, fish Tawa fry pomfret.
Main AC restaurant is in the back and not the one visible to the street. This restaurant also includes bar option. Service was little slow on the day we visited as many customers and less employees. Overall experience was good as the Neer dose and fish satisfied us.
One of the most famous eateries in Mangalore and it has to be. The place is actually a home converted into a restaurant and the vibe is just contagious here.
I went there alone for a dinner and had a good time. It was the IPL season and I was sitting just in front of the TV on the upper deck. The service time is fast. I ordered one Chicken Ghee Roast and one Crab Ghee Roast. Crab Ghee Roast was a bit oily but the trade-off with the taste was commensurate.
The waiter had a chat with me for about 5 minutes. He asked me a lot of things and made sure I am comfortable. He even recommended me items from the menu and constantly checked with me while I was savouring my supper.
The prices are on a moderate level. The dinner costed me about ~ā¹1300 (~$17) but this is fine given I had a full ghee roast crab all to myself and it also included a mocktail.
All in all, it is a must visit place when in Mangalore, and do try their Crab Ghee Roast.
This place is good for non vegetarians.. limited options for vegetarians. We had fish rawa fry which I think was average, the squid ghee roast was delicious, fish thali was too good but lot of food in thali for one person hence itās a good idea to share. Prawns masala and beer dosa was good. Vegetarians have very limited options. The ambience is dark and decent nothing great. Overall a good place to try mangalorian cuisine.
This place has a bar ambience. Therefore may not be suitable to the mainstream crowd. The food here is brilliant though. My first time experience was underwhelming however the recent experience was amazing. The chicken ghee roast is the hero and relished the dish. It goes very well with neer dosa. It's a killer combination. The veg clear soup was surprisingly good. Paneer tikka was sumptuous. It was the best I had in Mangalore. The veg meals is a huge let down. Never order it. The service was good. Overall the experience was nice. I would come back for the chicken ghee roast and paneer tikka.
Ambience is good . Food and the service is below average. Extra unnecessary talks with the customers arenāt appreciated. Special thali charged 399 which is too much for the quality of the food theyāve served. Most of them lacked salt in it.
Such a disappointment š
Highly recommend the chicken ghee roast and the fish thali here. Food is simple but tasty.
Great foodā¦chicken ghee roast and neer dosa is yummiest
Chicken sukka is also good
Its a bit noisy
Service is slow as they serve fresh
Must try their seafood thali!!
With squid ghee roast , prawns curry , fish fry , clam fry and neer dosa
Also tried Kori roti 3/5
This is second time visiting this place.
Overall food is fine. I donāt understand why they are not concentrating on cleaning up the Anupam entrance and way for restaurant in a better way.
They are legacy brand but I feel some other lunch homes are far good.
The food was awesome. There was a volunteer singing beautiful songs from the 70s and 80s. The crowd was so loud to drown his dedicated singing that it became irritative. Ambience to be taken cate of as it seemed stuffy. Service was poor as they were understaffed and over crowded.
This is the best restaurant in mangaluru for family with excellent taste. Machhli is next to this. Have King fish which is very tasty. Price also nominal. You will love the food. Whether it is far or late, have lunch or dinner. Else you will miss the mangaluru food.
I went here for dinner after my friend recommended me during my visit to Mangalore. I had sea food thali which was priced at 399, and it was really good. It had a different local taste and some ghee roast masala which is quite popular here. Overall my dining experience was good. They also serve liquor here. If you're planning for new food experience, then this one's a must try.
