This place has a nice build around. Feels like you are on a garden view restaurant. Anyhow, the food is good depending on what you order. But the best among the ones to try is the some like it hot which is like the signature dish here.
The food sometimes here tastes good. But on the previous visit the food did not really taste that great. The rice dishes are a no no because the taste isn't very prominent always.

We went there on a Saturday evening and the service wasn't as expedient as one would hope. Though the food (vegetarian) makes the place a must try. The starters Veg crispy and dragon rolls were delicious followed up by butter chilly garlic rice and a gravy topped triple schezwan noodles. The spaghetti is cheese topped and is pretty decent. The burger is average and the sandwiches weren't up to the mark.
Methimutter malai gravy was sumptuous and the north Indian food scored all points. The ambience outside makes it a pretty cool place to hang out with your friends. There's an air con dining area present inside too. Located off balmatta circle, it is tucked away in a corner down the road and isn't easily recognizable. Overall the food is worth the money and this place is on par with Mangalore's best cafes.
I always visit this place whenever I come to Mangalore. The ambience is simply awesome. They are famous for their 'some like it hot' a sizzling hot icecream. Their chilly chicken burger is also a must try one. Please visit them you will surely enjoy the place

It has been around for a long time . Weirdly I could go there just today. I loved the whole set up . Cocooned inside what looks like the basement of a house it's surrounded by green . The ambeince is just perfect for a meeting / date or just a hang out. The service is good . I had the crazy sundae ( brownie, mango ice cream , nuts and chocolate sauce ) and the ice tea . While the sundae didn't impress me much ( I guess I didn't order the right thing ! ) , The ice tea was impeccable .

Last week happen to escape Mumbai madness to breath fresh air and relax at Mangulru at friends place in Surathkal. As a true traveler wanted to explore all local food, street food and places. So after awesome sea food at Bappamas we all were craving for desserts.
One of our socialite suggested ideal ice creams or Pabbas but to our dismay those parlor were closed and it was just 10 pm, for Mumbaikar 10 pm is like night life begins. Now we had one option to go this place named cherry square as suggested by our local buddy. It was already crowded by youngsters and this place was buzzing with youth energy. Simple yet very cozy and relaxed place. No frills yet very economical as compared to Mumbai. We ordered only two things for we 5 and thought lets see how order turns out to be and then will order some thing else.
As we were craving desserts we ordered SOME LIKE IT HOT basically this was sizzling brownie and second we ordered was GADBAD RELOADED.
Sizzling brownie was amazingly yum that to just for 80 Rs with nuts loaded, a must have. We ended ordering 3 of those. Gadbad was inresting amalgamation of 3 different flavour of ice creams , nuts and load of nuts and more nuts with various syrups. This was far better than IDEAL and Pabbas! a must try.

Have never tried food here coz I didn't hear highly of it. But the desserts are a different story. Many a visits to mangalore have been planned around a go at the Some Like it Hot here! This sizzling brownie with icecream... with lots of nuts n chocolate sauce is just the mind blowing! Do give it a shot!!
One of my favorite hangout places. The snacks and food here are just fine. Some of the ice creams are really good, especially Some like it hot. This could be one of the places in your list if you are hanging out with your friends and looking for a place with simple ambience and decent food.ย

a nice small place in the centre of the town which serves quality food.ive been to this place a couple of times.and my all time favorite is some like it hot and the chocolate cold coffee.please do try these both!
This place used to be among the top three places we'd go to when we were in college. And the 'Some like it hot' used to be a compulsory order. Glad to say that it feels good to go back here after a long time and find that not much has changed (apart from the price hike) especially the deserts. The reshmi kebab is a must try.
So.. We had a small party for my frns birthday at this place. The place is decent enough. Small tables.
Decent staff. Nice ambience.
We had ordered all north indian stuff. Veg and paneer sabjis. Roti - naan - masala papaps. The food is awesome here.
And lastly, we tried the ice creams. I must say desserts is their speciality.
We tried a variety of desserts: ice cream kulfis, slabs, scoops in different flavours, some assorted ice creams.. And all of them wer served well and tasted yummilicious.

My First day in Mangalore, and I was pleasantly surprised by this lil shop nestled between other shops that one might miss while riding a bus or bike, but to the trained eye, Cherry Square will always make you stop right in front of it!
It's a small bistro, a stone throw away from the famous Milagres church, Balmatta.
The bright posters and well lit ambiance is a perfect place for people to sit, chat and enjoy some good pasta, sandwiches, and non-alcoholic beverages.
The service here is great and unobtrusive, and it makes you want to come for more! Usually packed with the Y Gen crowd, I happened to be there a Sunday afternoon along with a couple of international friends who were quite pleased with the chocolate pastry and hot coffee and lemon tea.
Cherry Square is a welcome surprise to anyone visiting Mangalore!

Frankly have a soft corner for this place. My ever first sizzler ice cream was from this place. Love the ambiance and crowd, mostly it's the students all around so the energy is always fullest. Have even partied in their restaurant booking the whole restaurant and have to admit the service was pretty nice as well as the food. It's defiantly the place to chill out and relax with your friends and love ones. Have always been one of my hangouts if I'm in mangalore from past 15-18 years or more (known the place from my birth). So I can guarantee you will have a amazing time. Try the different ice creams and dishes it keeps on changing and they keep on experimenting that's the best part.
After hearing a lot about this place finally went today..ahh expectation was to much..the place and ambiance is superbly awesome..we order chicken spaghetti,chicken paprika sandwich,and some like it hot....chicken spaghetti was okay didn't find it to much tempting..paprika sandwich was good though a little spicy would have been better..and finally the some like it hot was totally worth it and should try..after eating in chocolate room in pune this is the one I was searching for so many days in Mangalore..overall nice experience..should try place in Mangalore
It is basically famous for desserts. Some of the ice creams are yummy. Especially ice creams like sizzling hot ice creams are yummy. The North Indian food is average. The ambience is good but price for food is little high. If you want to eat hot ice cream then you should visit cherry square.

Very well known for their ice creams and other desserts (especially 'Some Like It Hot'), this place also offers delicious Snacks and other food items. I loved the Prawns Biryani and the Veg Burger.

One of the best Icecream places in Mangalore! Especially the "Lady in Red" icecream which is heavenly! But sadly, this is seasonal and is available only during the strawberry season! And for the hardcore chocolate loversย "Some like it Hot" is a must try! The burgers and sandwhiches are good too, but this is more of icecream place. I tried the cheese Pav Bhaji which was not all that great.. it did notย even taste like Pav Bhaji.
The ambience in the NON AC section is way better than the AC section. Lot of plants and greenery! Service is a little slow, but that is ok when you are going with a bunch of people. Overall, I love everything about this place and would definitely visit again and again !

Good snacks at affordable prices. The sandwiches are really good esp chicken sausage sandwich. They've recently introduced the nutella cheesecake which as splendid as a dream! Also not to forget their toasts with cheese (tons of it) and garlic. Their chicken burger is good too.
Still dream about the ice cream sundaes and chicken noodles .. my most memorable sundaes being lady in red and the always pleasing "some like it hot".

As everyone says Some Like It Hot is amazing... Aptly a lil bit cold n a lil bit hot... For all chocolate and vanilla combo lovers it's a must try.. Even babycorn manchurian and fried rice were spicy, just the way I like it.. It was raining and we were seated at outdoor patio... Unforgettable.. A memorable evening with my family.. :-) Very humble and good service..

Cherry Square - multicuisine restaurant is very famous for versatile dishes and beautiful ambience. They have seating indoor as well as outdoor. Place is quite perfect for a date or a family meal.
Ordered tandoori chicken lollypop which was quite juicy and mouth watering starter. Main course mutton biryani was served with great flavours and thick based raita. Mutton pieces was soft,chewy and succulent in taste with aromatic rice. Raita was also very yummy. Lastly desserts we ordered chocolate war which was unbeatable and really top in taste.
Overall good friendly service from the staff, timely served and happiness ๐ overload. Washrooms also were very clean and nicely maintained. Best restaurant felt in Mangalore area where once dining is not enough, would love to experience once again........

Do try "Some like it hot" dessert. Only street parking is available for handful of cars, as it's a busy road and also other businesses use same parking facility. Weekends will be crowded and hard to get parking spot.

The ambiance and service are good. 4 different waitresses attended us while we ordered different items at different points of time. And they suggest the best sellers too when asked. There were 9 of us, and we ordered many more items than the ones in the photos, and the bill came to around 430 per person.Quite reasonable for how much we ate.
For starters, we ordered "Bulb Chicken" and "Tandoori Lollipop".
๐ The bulb chicken was piping hot. It is a flat piece of chicken breast(I'm sure it was a breast piece, do correct me if I'm wrong) folded with a tasty Scrambled egg stuffing and a semi-dry gravy. It was Delicious. You'll get 7 pieces on a plate.
๐ Tandoori Lollipop was delicious too. Since they are lollipops, they are very small bite-sized pieces. Very smoky, delicious, and the mustard oil oozing out was Yum yum yum. You'll get 8 pieces on a plate.
For the main course, we ordered Chicken White sauce Pasta, Chicken Butter Chilli Garlic Noodles, Butter Naan, Chicken Lajeeb, Chicken special biryani, and chicken fried rice.
๐Chicken white sauce pasta was pretty good, the consistency was right, and tasted good.
๐ Butter Naan with Chicken Lajeeb(forgot the exact name, was it Lajeeb/Lajeez) was a very great combination. The waitress suggested chicken Lajeeb when I asked which chicken curry is a best seller and goes well with naan. It certainly did. If you don't like noodles and pasta as a meal and you prefer North Indian, then at cherry square this naan and chicken Lajeez is a great combination.
โญThe chicken Butter Chilli Garlic noodles, tasted good but it had a little bit of a bad eggy๐ฅ smell. Not a big fan, but it tasted good. Some may like the eggy smell and some may not. I did not.
โญ Chicken special biryani, did take a lot of time to arrive. But it was steaming hot and I mean very very hot, hence I presume it was made fresh. I didn't get to taste though, as my plate was already occupied, but I recall my friends saying it was delicious.
โญChicken fried rice was good but needed a kind of sauce to go with it. It felt dry so definitely order something saucy to go with it or maybe just ketchup if you like it.
For beverages, we ordered Lime soda, lime juice, carrot juice, pineapple juice, and a kulfi shake.
I had the Kulfi shake as the waitress suggested that it's a good option in milkshakes.
๐ Kulfi Shake is delicious and refreshing. A Very thick shake, with figs and nuts on top. And very very chilled. Don't drink too quickly, you might get a brain freeze.
Pineapple juice and lime soda were also good. Carrot juice was not that good, but fine.
For dessert, of course, we ordered the best seller and what this place is mostly known for, "Some Like it Hot".
๐ Some Like it Hot, is a very creative dessert available here. It has a scoop of a very delicious vanilla ice cream on top of a slab of chocolate brownie on a sizzler plate. The waitress gets it to the table and will pour a shot of chocolate syrup on the ice cream. The syrup starts sizzling as it flows on the hot plate. Then comes a very generous amount of cashew nuts on top. The vanilla ice cream is delicious on its own, the syrup and cake with nuts just elevate the ice cream to a whole new level. But be careful of the syrup and brownie that is touching the plate and is sizzling hot, you might end up burning your tongue if not careful.
And the only thing I don't like about it is that once the ice cream is all gone and there's a bit of syrup left, it will be very very sweet as it is caramelized due to the heat, only people who have a very sweet tooth might like the leftover, and not to mention the lower part of the brownie will be burnt and stuck to the pan forever, and with the sticky caramelized syrup, they get stuck to the spoon as well. Kinda annoying.
But at the end of the day, it is a very delicious dessert and a must-try.
Overall experience was great ๐ I will definitely visit this place again for sure.
