Purchased for the hype of Bombay Lucky Biryani is best in town. Has not disappointef with the taste.
Ordered:
Chicken Biryani combo for 1
Price: 250/-
1 Half Biryani
1 Dry Fry
1 7up lemon juice bottle
Dry fry was the best unbelievably best.
Biryani was good. Half was lil disappointing though but the taste doesnt make u regret.
Overal worth it.
One of the Famous and oldest hotel in town.
Maintains the quality in everything.
Usually a rush place.
One of the best restaurants in the city.. must try dryfry and biryanis..
My usual place to find food after 12 is here. They serve amazing biriyani at late night and also chicken fry
Bombay Lucky Restaurant is located at Mohammed Ali Road, Bunder. This legendary place is running since 1917 and very famous for their biryani. When I was searching for best biryani in Mangalore then I came across this restaurant. We had mutton biryani, chicken biryani and chicken dry fry. I really loved their chicken dry fry, chicken was hard outside and juicy inside. I loved mutton biryani over chicken biryani because mutton was so tender . This biryani was very mild and flavorful when compared to hyderabadi dum biryani. This biryani was very close to home made biryani, I really loved it. Ambience of this place is good and service was great. If you are craving for biryani in Mangalore then you should definitely visit this place. They also opened a new restaurant in Hampankatta area. I had mutton biryani and chicken biryani at Hampankatta branch, Taste was 💯 percent same.
Have been regular to this place every time I visit Mangalore and this place never disappoints for food or service.
Only place that is open till late.. serves delicious biryani, Kababs, Tandoori items.
The Biryani here reminds me of the Bombay Biryani.. and if you have had Biryani at Naaz or Noorani in Bombay, this will match up to it.
Tandoori and Kababs are also good.
Not to forget, service is fast n friendly.
Not a place for ambience though
Real taste of authentic food and services. If you are planning to visit this place try biryani & chicken dry fry.
Only restaurant open till late night.
tip: never forget to try the biriyani and dry fry here. Mind blowing and tasty you will never have such experience anywhere else in mangalore.
Legend of a place. You would eat here even if you own a similar restaurant.
The Bheja dry fry, mutton dry fry, parota and egg masala, mutton biryani and a lemon tea to end it with is my usual order here.
The food was delivered on time. It was good . Just that not adequate amount of chicken was provided. The rest was very tasty and was smelling good
Chicken dry fry and Parota. Bombay lucky is my go to place if I have cravings for some night tea and parota chicken. I have mostly visited BLR at 10 Pm or 11 pm for chicken dry fry and Parota or mutton biryani combo.. also the mutton chops.. these items with a lime tea at 11 pm in the night is exactly what I need .
One of my favorites. You get the best biryani in town here. The biryani here is my favorite and im sure you too will like it. The best part is you can visit this hotel even at midnight say 12 am. Shawarma also has a great taste and the dry fry which is available is my favorite. Wake me up and give it to me.. I'll eat it for sure. Lime tea is also famous. As far as i know the oldest(now renovated) and the best hotels in mangalore 😊
Visited this restaurant on recommendation of a friend. I was informed that the restaurant serves tender mutton and food at a reasonable price.
The location is a bit interior and can be tracked on Google maps. On discussion with staff, I was informed that the restaurant was originally termed Bombay as the food was similar to what was available in Bombay. Since the location was close to the port, it use to serve people arriving from Bombay. Gradually the name got changed to Bombay Lucky Restaurant.
The concept is quite similar to the ones available in the local Mumbai restaurants. We ordered:
Mutton Chops Masala fry
Mutton Kurma dry fry
Gravy portion is enough for one with one mutton bone piece.
Half Biryani: When compared to Bombay's biryani, the portion was one quarter. But the biryani was nice.
Rice Roti : Similar to Bhakri that east Indians eat.
Paratha
Mint Juice: Good for your tummy
Readymade:
Pineapple pudding
Litchi pudding

One of my favourite restaurant my most favourite dish in here is mutton pepper fry which everyone should try and I love the service done in here
I have been many times to the restaurant and most probably I have been there at midnight at around 12 and the food is served with the same energy and enthusiasm. I and my friends have been there in a bulk and there is a lot of ambient space for a group members those who come in a bulk and we all order the same the famous chicken biryani and a dry fry along with a refreshing lime soda Which makes us to come to an end of meal. I recommend the piping hot biryani with the gravy and tangy and spicy salad that's given with and the rates are so reasonable and best place to have lunch and dinner if u arrive late to Mangalore even if it's 3am in the afternoon or midnight 12. They are always ready to serve you food.
the best biryani I ever tasted...never missed a weekend without visiting here.. especially the dry fry yummy it is. A very friendly atmosphere and service.

Carrying the legacy of amazing food from the past 30 years, BOMBAY LUCKY is one among the legendary places in mangalore for exotic food.
PAYA CURRY, one among their best and famous dishes and no doubts on why isn't it famous, such a rich curry, elegant in its own way!
A very normal restaurant with some really amazing food, one should really try this place for some really good and rich food ❤️
A group of friends with not so much money in the pocket but wants to have tasty food? Come on in! Try their Chicken dry fry, mutton biriyani, mutton chaps. Really good. Chicken biriyani was okay and chicken tikka was very similar to the dry fry but smaller. Loved the pricing too!
Good mutton chaps, mutton masala, sulaimani and late night food. That's what makes Bombay lucky hotel special. I feel so nostalgic to be in this place and wherever I get a chance I visit it. Most of my visits to Bombay lucky hotel had been alone.
If you're looking for a decent place to have food in the midst of crowded Bunder area, then this is the place to go. Doesn't matter if you're alone or with your family. The food is average.
Probably the only place in Mangalore wherein u get awesome food at 1:00 am in the morning on any given day.
And the place servers u so fast that ur out within 30 minutes with your gastronomic wishes fulfilled. Try their Butter Chicken (yes in Mangalore) with malabar parantha and chicken Biryani. For some strange reason they serve u hot water to drink.
A must visit if u happen to be in mangalore.
I visited Bombay Lucky during Ramadan.
The authentic Muslim biriyani is the signature dish and popular in Mangalore. The specialty is separate rice grains in Biriyani.
I was offered Ifthiar snack and something like hardened payasa. Also try lemon tea.
I am thankful for the hospitality and love.
Open until late night, one of the best non veg food outlets in mangalore. Anjal Tawas fry and bonds chilly must try. Biryani was awesome. Must visit place in mangalore.
Best and cheapest place for decent late night food. Usually open past 12am. Taste is not so great but service is very quick and pocket friendly. Mutton dishes are good. Hot Lemon tea is superb after a heavy meal.
Wow! What do I say about Bombay Lucky! It is a true life saver as it is open wayyyyy past the bedtime of most people! Even at 12 AM, the place is packed like crazy and finding a seat can be a tough ask. They have now added another top floor, but even that gets packed to no avail. The must try items include Chicken Biryani, Chicken Dry Fry and Lemon Tea. Despite the waiters having a tough and exhausting schedule, they always manage to serve with a smile!
The meal was ok... But rate was quiet high... Always it is overcrowded... Not much a hygienic resturant... Biriyani was highly reccomended...

One of the oldest hotels in Mangalore. The ambience and the service takes you back to the old times. The Mutton Brain Masala is a real treat. The biriyani is also quite good.
This place is kinda hard to find since it's in the interior part of Statebank! The ambience is okayish and parking space is very little! The Chicken biriyani will be the only reason to visit this place again and again! Even shawarmas are available here! No home delivery though! Happy day to you!
Good biriyanis and mutton items👍
Look wise very simple place................................................................................
Amazzzzzzzzing!! I would scream this loud enough for everyone to know :)
By the sight of the place it's a very simple restaurant consisting of plain tables and chairs without anything fancy to decorate it . But the food that they serve would surely captivate your soul . That's why they say the best food experienced is from the simpler places .
This place is open even during the late hours of the day when none of the other restaurants are functioning which adds to its advantage .
I love the mutton chops and chicken fry here . I could go on ordering them one after the other .
The pathiri (rice roti) and mutton curry is a bomb too .
You may find the dishes a little greasy but I think you can foresee it when the food tastes so yum and it makes your soul happy happpy . ;)

Last night I ve been here for the dinner, the restaurant looks ordinary with a very ordinary interior but the place is maintained well.
The restaurant is so crowded still managed to keep the premises very clean.
The dishes have got a minimum guaranteed fine taste.
Yesterday we ordered chicken biriyani, paya masala, chicken masala, mutton masala, mutton chaand, two different platters of chicken kabab all tasted good upto limit nothing was worse.
This place is a fine dining for a family to have food for reasonable price.
Mughal type restaurant. You will get a Good parota over hear . all mutton items are good . the price was not that costly . you should have lemon tea . hospitality was good .
The biryani could be better as I have eaten awesome malabar biryani at smaller joints in mangalore. Have been visiting this place since childhood and following items are great to order. You can find the chicken awesomeness in their chicken dry fry :)
Chicken dry fry, Poratha, Patri & Egg Masala, Biryani(Chicken/Mutton),
The best biryani in the whole of Mangalore. Be it chicken or mutton, the best I'd ever had. This place is quite near the main bus station that is state bank.
The boys late night eat out! The chicken fry is yummmmmmm! The food is good, hot and quick! Biriyani/chicken fry with parotta to be washed down with a cup of hot lime tea at the end!
Chicken Biryani, Chicken Dr Fry and Open Till Midnight. What more could we ask for?
Super Economical and Amazingly Fast Service. I've heard some say they serve great mutton dishes too. Do try :)

Best late night dine outlet. The hotel is famous for chicken Biryani, roast masala and others.
The location is not so famous for family dining, recommended for take aways and dining with friends. Not for dining but ok to dine with friend.
I goes here only to eat their lamb fry. Its unique. Biriyani is avg. Chckn dishes are also good. They have typical muslim snacks. Good hygeine. Fast service. A lemon tea after food is a must.

The best midnight food retreat in Mangalore!
POSITIVES -
+ Open well into the night (at least till 2 AM)
+ Good Muslim Cuisine
+ Incredibly Cheap
+ Quick Service
+ Option of Dining in your Car
NEGATIVES -
- A little low hygiene
- Not a great place to dine with Family (you could rather take a parcel)
MUST TRY -
* Chicken Dry Fry
* Chicken White Kurma
* Chicken Biryani
Bombay Lucky has for years together been Mangalore's favourite late night food haven. One of the only restaurants in Mangalore to serve proper dinner type food (not just snacks) post 11 pm up till around 2 to 2 30 am at least! The cuisine they serve here is the local Muslim type of Cuisine and it's pretty nice. The decor is not great. I wouldn't advise you to take your family here for a nice dinner (Though they have a family area). This is a place you'd rather go with your friends. If you want to dine with your family, you'd rather take a parcel from here, or sit in your car and eat (which is also an option that's offered).
The food here is great provided you order their specialities. You must specifically ask the waiter to suggest some Bombay Lucky Specialities that include their Biryani, Chicken Dry Fry, Mutton Chops, Chicken White (Curry), Chicken Kurma, Mutton Bheja, Khushka, Kerala Parotta Pathiri. What's definitely a must try here is their Chicken Dry Fry. Its absolutely fantastic. Definitely in my list of top 5 fried chicken of all time. The batter is so crisp and has the perfect balance in it's spice mix; the chicken is always tender and is served piping hot (freshly made). You absolutely cannot leave Bombay Lucky without trying their Chicken Dry Fry. Their Biryani is great too, with less masala but great flavours. The Chicken white kurma is a safe and great choice and goes well with the Kerala Parotta. The thing with ordering mutton here is that you can never say if it'll be tender or rubbery and tuff. The waiter will always say its tender. But over the years, there have been innumerable times that I've been served leathery mutton but a good number of times that I've been served tender mutton meat as well. So its a gamble with the meat being tender. You can wash down your meal with a classic Sulaimani Chai!
The service is rather quick but the hygiene could be improved. The prices are incredibly cheap! On the whole, this restaurant is more than you could ask for when your midnight hungers bother you!
Pushka rice with chicken kebab a must try in bombay lucky ,,,,,, served with kesar aroma on the top of rice gives good raste and kebab of tender chicken is also gud one
Great food for affordable prices. The ambience is not suited for a family, however the perfect place in mlore for late night food! When you'r here, try out chicken dry fry and lemon tree which are the specialities if this place.
One of the best restaurants for non vegetarian, we tried hyderabady chicken dum biryani, and chicken dry fry, chicken pepper dry, butter naan All wery good in taste . With respect to quantity and quality it's too good with affordable prices. You must try this once.. Biryani was having nice aroma to increase your appetite.

Its a well Known and famous hotel. Had a very good experience with Bombay Lucky Restaurant. One of the best and affordable hotel to stay. You will save a lot of time as the hotel is just below the lodge, and you will have good options to eat...and also it is in the centre of the city.
Late night food experience place. This shop opens till 12-1 am we can get food at late and also variety of food items are available here. Can enjoy with family friend s because restaurant is very big. Overall we can enjoy late night dining around manglore give it a try
The food is good for the price they serve, the service is fair compared to the rush they have, and the location of the restaurant is a bit difficult for people from far off places in Mangalore. But still the only best option to have dinner late night. If anyone could suggest me some other late night restaurant and cafes in Mangalore, that would be great!
Steeped in Mangalore's rich heritage, this restaurant is a treasure trove of local flavors. Authentic dishes, passed down through generations, take you on a culinary journey. Immerse yourself in history and savor the traditional tastes of Mangalore at this heritage gem. 🍽️🏰🌴
One of the most Famous place in Mangalore to have biriyani. Best part about the place is that it's open upto 2-3am... They have the regular as well as the family section.
It Gets pretty crowded at times and difficult to find a table...
Really great service, I've arrived late at night and check in wasn't issue at all, team seemed very professional and room was clean. Easy 5*
Still gives quick service and food still tastes the same as old times
One of best restaurant in manglore specially for dinner.... the restaurant will be open till 12.30 pm...
Chicken dry...one of top food to be tasted
The biriyani disappointed a tad bit. I would recommend ordering a chicken gravy along with Naan as it was too tasty.
This is one of the oldest restaurants of mangalore. I would recommend to try chicken biryani here. Its simple and tastes delicious. This restaurant is open up to late night. Staffs are friendly and service is fast.Prices are reasonable and can say value for money. Looking forward to visit again.
One of the best biryani’s & chicken items in Mangalore. It was Super crowded and worth the wait ! I really loved their flavour. Single portion can be easily shared by two people. We ordered ghee rice, dry fry, coconut pudding (must try). It was the dessert which made the difference. This should be must visit place for Non veg food.
