This place serves good coastal food . Very authentic mangalorean food is served here . The pricing is very reasonable and service is good and quick . It’s good for take away s .
We had got food packed for lunch. Biriyani was special. Chicken, Egg, Prawns biriyani prepared with basmati rice with extra ghee tasted delicious. Gobi Manchurian was little under cooked. Chicken chili and chicken lollypop was average. Overall it was a good lunch
Suvarna is a restaurant situated in the residential area Mannagudda is always crowded with customers in the evening . A very good option for the nearby residents to pack thier take away. It's an eatery which welcomes people from all folks of life.
Chicken Sukka, chilly chicken and Gobi Manchurian are my all favourites. Depending on the availability, varieties of fishes are served. Decently priced and cleanliness is given utmost importance.
Suvarna is a small place that serves one of the beat chicken/ mutton biriyani in the town. Ambience is moderate. They have ground and first floor seating arrangement. It's always better to opt for the first floor. Service is relatively quick and the prices are also reasonable for the quantity served.
Another good place for takeaways. They undertake catering orders as well (They started out as Suvarna Caterers). Love their Chicken Noodles (lot of shredded chicken pieces and scrambled eggs).
Do try their:
- Chicken Noodles
- Chicken Uruval
- Chicken Ghee Roast
Biryani and Sukka is decent as well.
Good sea food, mangalore style. Tried most kinds of fish curry and fry available here. So far everything was good except naked fry, which was too oily. They also make 'Chinese' indian dishes like pepper/ginger/chili prawns which taste quite good, albeit spicy. Inexpensive. Ambience is just normal. Good for takeaway though.
One of the hidden gems in mangalore. Small little restaurant nothing fancy about the ambience. The food served here is just brilliant. The way the fish is marinated or the spices mixed in curries is just right and brings out the amazing flavours of local mangalore cuisine. Be it the chicken sukka or the ginger chicken. Seer fish masala fry was not too spicy and just perfect for me.
I always make it a point to visit this place when I am in mangalore and for all of you visiting mangalore a must visit place !
