This has been one of my favourite place from my college times. I used to like their chicken lollipop and biryani and hence ordered this time while I was at home. The taste was almost the same as it used to be back then. The biryani was very tasty and flavourful. Even the chicken lollipop was good, but I felt the taste has slightly changed. Overall, the food was really good and it is a must try place

A nice budget restaurant...almost all the students of Manipal has visited this food joint...has a decent sitting arrangement but generally it remains crowded...this joint however doesn't have ac...taken care by fans hanging overhead...
Food is good at economic price...
They have home delivery facility as well...
Do try chicken gravy rice...
This place is usually Crowded during afternoon lunch hour. We had to wait for the table for some time . Food here is good and also decent ambience
Tried chicken garlic and mixed fried rice both had good quantity and the taste was also good. The service is quick here
One of the oldest and best eat out is Dollops. It's like a go to place when you don't know where else to eat. Their setup looks very rusty old, but that's their USP too.
My favorite dishes include their soup, wanton, manchurian and burger.
Even the juices they serve is tasty.
Only drawback is they are confined to chicken only in non veg but limiting your menu to include only the best dishes could be their key to remain in this market.
Manchurian should have been big spicy
Had know about this place earlier and wanted to try . So had been here on weekday and the crowd was still good . Had to wait for a table. We got table very soon and ordered. The order arrived soon. And it tasted very good and delicious. Would definitely come back to try more .
Had been to Dollops recently. When it comes to north indian and chinese food this is undoubtedly the best place in manipal. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. It was a group outing so we planned to try multiple number of items like veg kadhai, methi matar malai, veg noodles and mutton rogan josh.
Hats off to Chef antariksh for preparing such a wonderful dish (Mutton rogan josh).
Must try - Mutton rogan josh
Service - 9/10
Ambience - 9/10
Value for money - 10/10
Very cosy place. Feels romantic. Had been here for dinner with family. The food taste is very authentic. They maintain a good standard in food quality. We all loved the ambience and sitting was good. Pocket friendly place. Service is good.
Great decor and ambience. One of my favorite eateries in Manipal. The staff are courteous and polite. The food is also tasty.
I had ordered a plate of chicken noodles and it was superbly delicious.
This place is my 1st choice for Hangouts... Friendly surrounding and cozy place, best service and foooood 😍😍😍😍😍
It was the third time that I ate at Dollops last night after a couple of years. I was delighted to find that the taste of their food and the ambience at the restaurant has not changed at all.
I was here with my brother, and we ordered Mushroom Manchurian, Mixed Fried Rice, and Chicken Manchurian Gravy.
5/5 for Food - I have always tried out their Chinese food items (though they serve other cuisines too), and have always loved them
The Mushroom Manchurian was made dry as requested and was loaded with garlic, which was a delight to my taste buds.
The Mixed Fried Rice has an assortment of veggies, shredded chicken, egg, and paneer cubes. I was pleasantly surprised that they add paneer to their mixed rice items — not quite a common thing at other restaurants.
The Chicken Manchurian contained a good number of chicken cubes. The gravy was nice and light, and was loaded with minced garlic.
The quantity of food served in each item was good enough for two people.
Also, as a note, this place does not serve seafood.
5/5 for Ambience - The place is dimly lit, creating a very chill ambience. There are two seating arrangements - inside and outside. There are tables of different sizes for different group sizes. The interiors have an archaic, brick-walled theme, with wall hangings of different music bands. The roof is made of mud tiles that add a rustic feel to the ambience.
I found the restaurant quite neat and clean.
5/5 for Price - This place has prices that go easy on the pocket. The food bill + service tax came up to INR 430.
5/5 for Service - I found the service to be good. The staff is quite accommodating and takes into account the preferences of the customers.
Will I visit again? Yes! :)
Dollops has always lived upto it's name and expectations. It's famous for it's chicken lollipop which is loved by all the locals as well as the outstation students.
Best items:
1. Basil chicken
2. Chicken lollipop
3. Drums of heaven

This place is located very close to the Manipal institute Bus stop. I stopped by this place while waiting for the bus. I ordered chop suey and dark chocolate mousse. Both of them were very good. I would definitely recommend trying out the dark chocolate mousse if you love dark chocolate. The ambience of this place is a bit dark, good for smaller groups. It's a good place for evenings.
This hotel is located at Tiger Circle in Manipal. The ambience is very good, it feel like a nice place to dine at. They server all types of food. We tried Panjabi and Chinese food here. The food is good. Also the rates are pocket friendly. The service is also good. It's a good place to have food with family and friends.
Their wonton soup is the best ever!!!! And their desserts are amazing! Wonderfully place. Moderately priced. Great joint overall!! Absolutely loved it.
Very nice place to have North Indian food. Coffee here is great too. Ambience wise it’s okay but food is good specially the breads and gravies
Dollops is the only restaurant other than Saiba that has managed to maintain their quality of food and the restaurant as a hole during my entire stay in Manipal for the past 7 years and counting. Their food continues to remain great even though the cost is slightly on the higher side I sure do love it.
I visited Dollops after a long long time (I think more than a decade). This restaurant was doing very good as earlier with little change . Food was as good as earlier. This time I took my family to this place , when we were on our vacation . They also liked this place ....
Dollops -- this is a destination for most parents and their children on the first visit to Manipal and the journey there continues.
A non- air-conditioned restaurant and probably the only place with no name board I have been to. Popular dishes are chicken lollipop, fried rice, butter chicken - naan. Avoid the biryani.
I really liked the food which I ordered from this shop.. I Prefer to choose this shop every time..The food which they prepare is really delicious
Eaten here and taken delivery from here innumerable times. Pretty good Chinese food. The place is pretty dark for some reason. I like the sweet corn chicken soup, the Chicken Hakka noodles and the fried rice.
The Indian dishes are a little too oily and heavy. Stick to Chinese and you won't be disappointed.
Budget friendly and awesome ambience and very tasty food best hotel in manipal which serves both veg and non veg (except sea food) and my suggestion for soup for vegetarians is Veg wonton soup.
An all-time favorite place of mine for the non-veg dishes. I have been here countless number of times. The food is just amazing. Chicken lollipop, drums of heaven are among the best non-veg starters that these guys have. The veg spring roll, paneer kolhapuri are among the best veg dishes. The service is quick and top notch. The ambience of the place is real good.
Had a nice lunch from dollops today , tasty and healthy food, good packing, made the day . Can go for it , delivery guy was also good and polite .
This dark cozy place is amazing for dining out for dinner. I really love the chinese cuisine here. Especially cantonese chicken noodles. Other cuisines like the mughlai is also very good . This resturant is also famous for its deserts like the red velvet cake, choco lawa cake and cheese cake. Must try!😊
Ambience- Spacious and well lit with outdoor and indoor seating options. The place has this vintage wooden interior which has streetside cafe feel.
Pocket friendly- Reasonable for the quantity and quality served.
Food- After dinner hopped to this place for dessert. Chocolate Sundae was tasty with chocolate fudge, nuts and and choco chips as toppings. The chocolate icecream could have been more rich in chocolate and less sweet.
Brownie with Hot Chocolate Fudge was very rich, tasty with right amount of sweetness and served hot.
Service- Quick and prompt.
Rating- 4.5 as a little improvement in taste would be perfect.
Dollops, is an emotion for the 90's Kids In and Around Manipal. Well I clearly don't remember since when I have been visiting this place to dine, It never failed to impress.
The menu has seen lot of changes in taste no denying that, But the Butter chicken, Butter Roti, Biriyani and Drumsticks remain the forever constants. They taste well and is also available at odd hours say 4 pm. The portions are pretty good for the amount we pay
Truly recommend this place for all, as they have all major cuisines that is liked by the young and old gen alike.
This place is value for money. They do good North Indian and Chinese. If you're just visiting manipal, dollops is the place for a nice lunch and dinner. The ambience is simple and nice too. Try their Chocolate brownie for dessert.
Dollops is one of the earliest restaurants to gain fame among student population.Drums of heaven and is a MUST TRY ❤❤ Love the ambience and not to mention ,the food !!!!
Hello Manipalites.
Is this the end of the month? Are you low on cash? Wanna still hang out with friends?
If the answer to all your questions is yes, Dollops js the place you've to be.
Located just next to Tiger circle in Manipal, Dollops is a restaurant serving nearly all types of delicious cuisine at pocket friendly prices.
We had:
Chicken Biryani ❤️
Chicken 65❤️
Heaven Drumsticks❤️
Paneer Tikka💚
Mushroom Kadhai💚
Roti/Naan💚
***Appetizers***
Chicken 65: Thick and stout shreds of chicken cooked with a crispy coating in a sweet n spicy sauce really refreshes your taste buds.
Heaven Drumsticks: Fried peices of chicken or basically chicken lollipop, served along with schezuan sauce.
Paneer Tikka: Huge chunks of Paneer slow cooked in a charcoal barbecue. The peices of paneer just melt in your mouth with every bite.
***Entrées***
Mushroom Kadhai: Chopped Mushroom slow cooked in a medium spicy thick gravy with a spice and yogurt base.
Chicken Biryani: Honestly as a food blogger when it comes to Biryani, i know what a good Biryani tastes like. I had "Biryani" at Dollops and surprisingly didn't taste like biryani at all. All it was, herbed rice placed on a stack of cooked chicken. Honestly i think there's a lot of room for improvement in the biryani corner.
Food Quality and Taste: 7/10
The food quality of all the dishes other than the Biryani was simply splendid. Quality wise there seems no compromise. I loved the food out there.
Food Quantity and Pricing: 9/10
As previously mentioned Dollops is completely worth your money. The food is cheap and tasty. It's basically like my month end joint.
Ambiance: 7/10
I find the restaurant environment is clean and hygienic. Although during the evening time, it seems a little shady and dark. One might just happen to tumble over a waiter and spill some water around the space😂😂.
Staff: 9/10
The staff is polite and helpful. They guide you through the dishes in the menu and also efficiently suggest the suitable dishes according to your preference and taste.
If in Manipal, you ought to visit this place❤️
The ambience was really great..good place to hang out with friends... service was quick and servers polite and courteous.. food was priced reasonably and the taste was okayish, not up to the mark with the ambience
Old is gold is true for this place! This place is value for money, best Chinese food in manipal, the entire menu is good, in soups I especially love their tolumen and wanton soup, their chicken lollipop and garlic chicken is one of my favs.
If you’re just visiting manipal, dollops is the place for a nice lunch or dinner, it will never disappoint you!
Good place to visit if you’re in Manipal. They do good Chinese and North Indian. The ambience is simple and nice too. Try their Chocolate Brownie for dessert.
This restaurant in Manipal has attained the cult status by surviving the test of generations and time. The look, feel, ambience, menu, taste...all still feels the same and regardless of when you go there you will recollect the time when you had been there for the first time.
Serves excellent Chinese and Indian food.
This is an all time favorite place for anyone who has stayed in Manipal. Always been my first choice when I want to hang out with friends/family and have a great time and food (and not to forget within the budget).
My favorite picks from Dollops will be : Chicken lollipop ,Malai Chicken , fried rice , noodles, soup. In fact I have never been disappointed in any of their food till date.
Not yet tried their dessert section though .
I miss Dollops:)
Very good place for a simple dining experience with delicious food. Lighting could be improved since it tends to look like a shady dingy place but it makes up for it with the music. It is pleasant and soothing usually jazz or old rock. Food is cheap, good quantity and pretty tasty. Service is quick with helpful polite staff.
This restaurant has a special place in every old timey Manipalite's heart. And it's understandable. Their food is solid and no nonsense. Perfect place to hang out with some friends and have a straightforward meal. Good ambience and music.
Very happy with your timely service and food was off great quality. Would appreciate more offers and keep up with good service. Looking forward to ordering more from your place.
This place is called a legend for a reason. It's been here for as long as anyone from Manipal can remember.
The ambiance of this place is very rustic with laterite stone walls, great music and some classic posters up the wall. It's bustling with crowd at any given point of the day, loved by youngsters, families and just about anyone in Manipal.
I've tried their chinese food, sandwiches, manchow soup, indian food and have never had complains with anything. The service is quick, the food is reasonably priced and is one of my most favourite places to hang out.
Some of the recommended dishes are: Malai Chops, Drums of Heaven (dry and deep fried), Chicken Lollipop (if you like sweetish saucy chicken), Chicken Manchow Soup.
I've heard that they have started a variety of desserts now. Will be visiting to try them soon.
Long live Dollops! :D
I've haven't been to #Dollops in a while, but this place has really good food for a really reasonable price. It's really worth coming here with a group, or even if you're alone.
I like the Indian food here, it’s quite tasty and inexpensive.
The desserts out here are also very nice.
However, the service requires to be bettered as the waiters are quite rude.
Overall its a nice place!
Great place for family loved the food here went here after such a longtime and must say no regrets favorite place to hangout 😋 I can say it’s budget friendly cozy place great place for family 👏
One of the best places to satisfy yourself with good North Indian Food😋😋😋
This place has a wide variety of items in the menu.
Do try their Butter Chicken, Mushroom Chilly with butter garlic naan😍😍😍
A great place since time immemorial. Been many years since I have been patron of this place. Love all the food there, veg and non veg. The ambience is really good, service is good and food is exquisite.
Recommendation level: Very high
After kamath cafe, this is one of the most "Kifayati". Just to explain you the gravity of the situation, a party of 12 eats really well in just under 3K
Keeps me coming back for more! This restaurant is a part of my childhood. The dishes taste the same as they did over a decade ago! Which is just what you want in a decent restaurant. Chill vibes and lovely ambiance. I know most of the servers here, they are so friendly! Great place for a catch up with friends/family. Even to grab a quick bite to go!
Now for the recommendations:
1. Chicken Lollypop - this is sweet but TRY IT)
2. Chicken/Egg Biriyani - some may argue with me on authenticity, but I love their steaming hot chicken biriyani
3. Veg biriyani - nothing like its chicken counterpart, but delicious nontheless
4. CHEESE Naan and Butter Naan- I order this even if there's no gravy in the picture- yum yum yum
5. Crispy veg - self explanatory
6. I also like Kadai and Tikka Masala and Kolhapuri gravies but this is a subjective taste as I have been eating it for years now
7. Schezwan rice
Now for the ANTI Recommendations:
1. The soups - Never been a fan. The hot and sour chicken soup is a disaster
If you're feeling fancy:
1. Lemon Chicken
2. Veg Balls in Garlic sauce
3. Chicken Spinach
4. Hunan Chicken
I just love the fact that it doesn’t have a name board. The ambiance is cozy and food is yum!!! Its my favourite place in Manipal so far. The rotis here are good and kebabs are awesome!!!
Must try chilli kebab and veg sheek kebab!!
The 'go to' for anybody who is ready for some naan and Chicken duo! Great Ambience, great menu. The service suffers a little when it gets even a little crowded but other than that I can't think of anything else.
Loved the food, as always❤️ Ambience is on point, service is quick and the staff has always been polite. A place to relax and rewind, while taking care of the hunger pangs.
One of my favourite restaurant!
Great taste , lovely ambience . Must try chicken tikka one of the best tikka ever . Loved the Oreo cheese cake 😘 and also lemon chicken yummy!
Dollops is basically a right of passage or a classic of Manipal. They offer both Indian and Chinese food that ranges somewhere between decent and pretty good in quality. The chicken lollipop is an absolute must.
If you are in Manipal then Dollops is the place that is a must try. An authentic place with awesome dine-in facility to have North Indian and Chinese cuisine. There are many delicious delicacies to try out and among them tandoori items, butter chicken are the best. Go their with your family and get a good dining experience in this place in Manipal. It’s located at Tiger Circle, Manipal. Parking is an issue but the overall experience will be really good.
Decent food around Manipal to eat. Food, service atmosphere, everything is decent. There is nothing to complain about.
Mushroom mutter is a mist try with roti.
Always a pleasure to visit Dollops! I have been visiting for the past several years and it's never disappointed me. The staff are subtle, helpful and organized. Food is consistent and well priced. Centrally located, Dollops is both for families and students. The ambience is awesome. It continues to be our favorite restaurant in Manipal!
One of the best biryani in town!! The flavour you get with each bite is mesmerizing! Highly recommended! The Atmosphere is a mix of modern and classic! Would suggest booking a table on weekends.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This fine-dine restaurant surpassed all my expectations! Impeccable service, elegant ambiance, and the most delectable dishes I've ever tasted. Each course was a work of art, perfectly executed with exceptional flavors. From start to finish, it was a truly memorable culinary journey. Highly recommend for a special occasion or a remarkable dining experience..!
One of the best places in Manipal. The ambience is really good. The food was really good. I ordered for veg food (veg balls with garlic sauce) and was really tasty. This place doesn't serve alcohol so if that's not important than I would definitely suggest this place.
North Indian restaurant, good ambience, wouldn't prefer parcel. Ice creams are nice but gadbad is not that great
Dollops has survived the test of time and has always maintained taste, cleanliness and the ambience. It has its own great vibe and is a place equally appealing to young and also the family crowd. Please continue being what you are. Chicken stuffed parota can be a bit affordable.
Dollops is a must-visit spot! It is one of the famous restaurants in Manipal which is both student and family friendly. Their unique menu offers a variety of tasty and creative dishes that never disappoint. Highly recommended their Chicken lollipop, Chocolate Brownie and Chicken biriyani
First of all, I love the ambience. Especially, the huge tree at Dollops. 🫶
Had their Mutton Masala with Roti and it was quite alright. Try their Lemon Tea, you wouldn't regret.
One of the best places in Manipal. I have gone to dollops a lot of times. The ambience of the place is a different experience compared to any other restaurant in Manipal. My personal favourite dishes from dollops would be: Boneless chicken biriyani, Chicken lollypop( schezwan sauce), American chopsuey, Chicken and veg wontons💯. Definitely a 10/10 for me.
Ps: For pan lovers out there, the pan stall outside dollops is mind blowing. 💯
Thriving restaurant for both family and friends with a very chill vibes. Seating may be a bit hard to get but it's on first come first serve basis so even if you have to stand around a bit it's still possible. The food was delicious and we'll made; the chicken momos were meaty, the icecream was one of the best- it didn't melt fast and was a well stabilized one, the juice was also just right - basically the food was really good. There's a wide variety of options on the menu too and so I'd reccommend y'all to try out this place atleast once.
I've been frequenting this restaurant since I was a child. I've spend birthdays as I was a teen in the 90s in Dollops. I visted Dollops often during my study days too. I visited here recently after a long time since I live and work abroad now. The food is still fantastic unlike many great restaurants that lose their panache after popularity. I was also happy to know that the place has expanded and more options are available. I still stuck to my standard menu though, probably because it brings back pleasant childhood memories.
Situation almost exactly on tiger circle in Manipal, this place is student friendly and family friendly. But the best part is the yummy food and great ambience!
Logged in for lunch today and the food was awesome. Ordered chicken lollipop, kulcha, chicken kadai and mixed fried rice. Everything was 10/10 in terms of taste and quality. The only concern I have is why everything is boneless when it comes to chicken
Good food,can be better
Staff are courtesy
Ambience is good and the music is good too
Would recommend veg ball with garlic sauce
If you want to enjoy delicious food in Manipal then dollops can be one place that won't disappoint you. Great taste, awesome service and mind-boggling ambience. The crowd at all times speaks the rest.
One of the best restaurants to go and have variety of food. I like the Starters here than the main course. I would recommend bread recipes, rather than rice. Good one overall in manipal.
Interior is like some European street restaurant...cool and beautiful. They have their own way of serving you, even the water bottle are unique. Step in and you feel as if entering a retro type restaurant with modern facilities.
Food is awesome..as it is inside udupi. You won't be disappointed about food in udupi native restaurants. Pricing is also moderate, not expensive...crew are too cool.
Visit once is a must....👌👌👌
The NO 1 restaurant in the whole of Udupi and Manipal. Awesome food and genuine pricing. Ambience and service is very good. Keep up the good work.
The food was delicious. And the ambience was calming and beautiful. Definitely Check out this place for awesome food
