Hotel Pingara offers a unique culinary experience with its blend of local and North Karnataka flavors. We opted for the Fish Rice served on a banana leaf, accompanied by some fish fry. The taste, influenced by both local and North Karnataka elements, provided a distinct and enjoyable dining experience. A noteworthy addition was the North Karnataka chutney, alongside the usual fish fry and fish gravy, contributing to a diverse palate. The taste, although slightly different from other local restaurants, was delightful. While the service was a bit slow, the staff ensured that the food served was hot and fresh. The lunch cost of Rs 40, along with additional charges for fish fry, presented a cost-effective option, especially considering the provision of unlimited rice and fish gravy. In an area like Manipal, Hotel Pingara stands out as a pocket-friendly choice for those seeking a unique and flavorful meal.

The wide variety of sea food available here is the best thing to have. The crowd is usually more during lunch hours. But the service is quick and good. The place is maintained well and the costs are also economical. Try their fish meals (you get to choose which fish dish you want with it). For accompaniment you can order chicken or prawn or squid dish (as per availablity). The taste of each dish is great and can be savoured to the fullest.

Best place for local cuisine in Manipal. The seafood is fresh and cheap. Amazing food and staffs are very hospitable. Squid chilly is a must try! Don’t go for the Biriyani though

Pingara is a perfect spot for non veg lovers. It offers local cuisine with fish and chicken. We had a take away from this joint. We had ordered for disco fish tava and anjal tava. Along with this we ordered for prawns roast. The food was amazing and tasteful. It had proper local favours blended in it which gave nice taste to the masalas used. We got dry fish chutney which was very good.

One of the best places for sea food in Manipal. The food is not only good but very cheap too compared to other food outlets in Manipal. The rice they offer is unlimited.

Lovely Place for a quick Lunch or Dinner for people who love to eat in the old traditional way in a Banana Leaf. And you can ask for more if you want to eat. The dry chutney is the best I tasted here and can have more then 1 serving of rice with it.

The food is tasty, I cannot say it was too delicious. The staff and waiters are polite and cooperative. The fish is always fresh and good, and worth the price... Overall a good option to try out the fish restaurants in and around manipal in a normal budget.

Incredibly tasty and nice staff! I asked for a recommended dish, not too spicy since I'm from the Netherlands and I got surprised with a lovely dish! Very considerate and tasty. Definitely recommend!
