I loved the goan fish thali that I had at spice restaurant, mapusa.. it was tasty with all the goan traditional items in plate
Loved the taste of butter chicken.. yummy and just the sweetness needed. The quantity too was adequate.
Would probably give it 3.5 . Place is big with few sections downstairs and upstairs. Service is friendly and relatively fast. Well priced. Portions are quite good and more on the big side so great for big groups sharing different food items.
Somehow i wasnt nind blown hence i feel more like 3.5. Hygiene and cleanliness overall could be better.
Foodwise we shared chonak fish curry which was way too spicy for my tolerance and their tisray sukhe which was very tasty. I feel we didnt do enough justice so perhaps gotta be back to try more from their menu.

The food was great. I loved the babycorn in banana leaf and bhindi starter. The vegetarian preparations were great.
Amazing and absolutely lovely was the service. I was single person and being a vegetarian o wanted to try asany things as possible. So I requested my server Narayan to see if it's possible to customise a sampler for me. Please note that it was 8 pm - peak dining time and surprisingly kitchen understood my desire to try as many things as possible and they actually sent me small portions of 3 vegetable preparations, 2 starters, salad, poi bread, rice and solder kadhi. All that at price of Rs 450 while I mentioned that I was ok till Rs 1000. Most of these were approx 250 in alacarte.
This hospitality and understanding the customer is very rare in indian restaurants. This is amazing level of service.
Coming to food - the Curries were real authentic goan preparations with each having separate masala base. This is what I consider hallmark of a good indian restaurant because most of place and of using same base for any kind of curry. The starters were friend to perfection. The rice was really well cooked and breads were served warm. I will definitely recommend their banana wrapped babycorn coz these were most different babycorns I have had.
The food had a slight hotness but not overpowering at all - just their making it's presence felt subtly. Even coconut which is one of main ingredients in goan cuisine was just balanced without overpowering everything else.
All in all one of rare place which serves great food at great prices in great ambiance without making you wait much for your order.

The look on the outside looks very cute. The restaurant looks like a house with a beautiful design. Wall art is also an interesting thing to watch. They have a board which says you are entering the best seafood restaurant and I totally agree with them. Loved everything about spice goa.

We visited the new restaurant of Spice Goa today and the food was extremly delicious and yummy with excellent service. It is located in verem on the main road in between of betim and condolim and ahead of reis Magos. The restaurant is nicely done up. We had the today's special - lobster butter garlic and the fish thali.. Both were super yummy.. Also we had their famous serradura which also was exceptional.
It was good to meet the owner in person while we were leaving after having the wonderful meal...Cheers!!! All the best
Enroute to Goa, wanted a nice place which serves fish seafood! before we reached our destination at Dona Paula...Google suggested Spice Goa ....and what a recommendation....our lunch couldn't have been better..
Served by Narayan Gawde a cheerful and helpful attended...we enjoyed the Prawns Masala Fry prawns in red spicy red masala has 8 pieces, Crab Masala sweet and spicy masala with a medium sized crab, Clams Sukla yummiest of the lot with succulent big clams with brown dry masala, Surmai Gravy and some awesome fish gravy with rice.. Narayan suggested we try the fish thali as well...but we were so full that couldn't try anything else...
Kids enjoyed the Gobi Manchurian and Paneer Chilly. The Schezwan Rice was a bit high on spice..
Sweet Endings with Black Forest ice-cream which is vanilla with cookie crumble, caramal pudding and plain vanilla..

Every time I am down in Goa make it a point to visit this Restaurant. The fish thali is the same. Authentic goan taste. The mussel fry yumm. It's a small restaurant. Since it was crowded had to wait for the server.

We thought of exploring Mapusa area for local food and we ended up coming here.
The crowd here is all local and not touristy at all. It's like a family restaurant with AC ambience.
We ordered king fish Richardo, bombil fry, prawns curry and rice and my new favourite and must try dish here - banana prawns.
The whole process of unwrapping the prawns from the banana leaf and enjoying the cooked masala inside it is mesmerizing.
All the fish items were fresh and we had a great time enjoying it.
A must visit place if you want to try local Goan food.

Situated in a quiet lane of mapusa , this place is a heaven for sea food lovers. I absolutely loved their butter garlic prawns , bombil fry and seradura. I would like to mention the service given by Narayan. Very kind gentleman. He suggested the best dishes and I trusted him with it. It turned out to be pretty good. My husband is allergic to sea food and had the chicken cafreal. It wasn't very good. The masala was tasty but the chicken was not fresh. I would give it a 5 star of the chicken would be fresh. But it's absolutely good for seafood . The seradura deserves a special mention here. Amazing!!

The service was superb...we reached late...but the staff was polite and did not rush us to finish quickly...we had ordered some rawa fried crabs.. paneer 65, chonak fish curry with rice, and some alsande biya tondak (cashew and red beans). Food was simple yet flavourful! Visit if you are tired of disappointing "goan cuisine" from the most popular places.... You shouldn't miss this one.
Its a nice cute little place to dine in with your family. The food is PERFECTLY cooked. Neither overcooked nor undercooked. The food just makes me want to come back here again & again. One star less because it could get a little uncomfortable trying to adjust in the congested seating arrangement.

Very good seafood restaurant which is also value for money
The restaurant is multi-level and there is street side parking on the opposite side of the road. We went for lunch and had mix of vegetarian and fish dishes. The vegetarian thali is substantial and has good selection of local dishes . However, the best part of the meal at least for me were the seafood specialities. We tried 2 varieties of fish ( fried and in curry) and the prawns. They also have crab but that is for next time . The food was excellent as was the coconut based dessert.

Having Goan Relatives and based on their recommendations visited spice Goa on Sunday for lunch. Prior table reservations was done for 8 of us.
Due to our specific preference for ground floor seating , got the table after 30 mins waiting.
Restaurant seems very famous as there is long waiting during weekends . Interiors and space is very crammed up. Tables are very tightly laid and offers very less space to move about . Noise factor is high.
Menu fare is true Goan fare and offers huge variety of dishes from starters to main course.
Banana prawns - excellent in taste
Lobster butter garlic - size offered was good but lacking in taste
Fish fried items were great and very less oil.
Fish thali offers excellent variety of items
Overall a good experience
The only minuses were
Staff seems very hurried and not very courteous.

The best seafood restaurant in all of Goa in my perspective. Beginning from the tandoori pomfret and chicken kebab for starters until the caramel custard for dessert. Every single dish was drool worthy and fingerlicking good.
Honestly, the tandoori pomfret felt a little too expensive as per it's size, but I have no complaints since the flavour and the freshness of the fish was unbeatable.
The banana prawns were the showstopper in every sense of the word.
The prawn biriyani too, was exceptionally amazing.
I do not happen to remember the name of the chicken dish that we had, but it was in a green gravy, and I swear to god..I'd die to get a bite of that again.
Hats off to the absolutely overwhelming and attentive servers who treated us like family, if not more.
Would love to be back here once I return to Goa.

You know this place is good when you see the crowd waiting outside. Can take upto half an hour to get in on a busy day, but completely worth the wait. The food is exceptional, portions big and prices reasonable for what you get. Many things to try, but the bamboo wrapped prawn and the small prawn vada (don't remember the exact name) were to die for. A must visit for authentic Goan food. Owner Rohan made sure me and my partner Priyanka had a meal to remember

Sea food lovers heaven hidden just on the service road to Mumbai in Mapusa. Its sea food thali is like Oasis in deasert. The butter pepper Lobster is something one should try as a starter. Great food.. We ordered Peri Peri chicken kabab which was cooked to perfection. It had a Goan flare to it and Fish tikka kabab which was even better, the fish was just so flavorsome. For the main course we ordered fish thali which was okay, for dessert we had serradura which had a creamy thick texture with enough amount of sweet and it was again just perfect .

SG is known for its Seafood, & Goan dishes.
Drinks: Classic Cazulo (a super, feni based cocktail).
Starters: Motiyali (white bait), & prawn dangar (cutlet).
Both highly recommended.
Entrée: Bangdo malvani (mackerel steamed in banana leaf), & fish thali (Rs 330). Both super.
Dessert: Serra durra (wicked!).

I recently had the pleasure of dining, at Spice Goa restaurant. Let me tell you it was a hidden gem! The food there was truly outstanding. I decided to try their fish thali. It was absolutely scrumptious. My friends ordered the veg paneer tikka, paneer basil and naan. They were equally delicious. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant; it's a must visit spot in Goa.
Not was the food exceptional. The service was also top notch. I had heard about a Goan bread called poi. Unfortunately they ran out of it during my visit. However the wait staff went above. Beyond by hopping on his bike to try and find some for me. Although he couldn't get any from the bakery either I truly appreciated his effort.
Even though my trip came to an end after that visit I am already looking forward to returning to Goa just so that I can dine at Spice Goa again. It will definitely be my stop, on my trip!

One of the best places in Goa to have coastal food. They serve wide variety of sea food prepared in the Goan style. The place opens around 12 and we could see the entire place was fully crowded by 12:30 and people waiting in queue to get a table, this shows the popularity of the eatery. Highly recommended for anyone looking to have coastal food in North Goa. Not too far from Morjim, Baga, Vagator beaches, the place is in Mapusa.
There are a few must tries: Red Snapper fry, banana leaf prawns, lobster butter garlic, and Solkadi is a must.
