Whenever i Visit Goa, i never miss this place. Cafe Xaviers is my favorite place in north goa for snacks and tea. They have a variety of snacks on plate which is the best thing with a nice cup of tea. The Food is also very good. Iv tried Goan Sausage Chilly fry, Steak and my most Favorite is Prawns Fried Rice.
Good value for money thali. Very reasonable. I was told the kheema is good too.
The place has been in mapusa for years . The snacks are really tasty and brings you all the nostalgia when in goa. A visit to mapusa market is incomplete without being here. Specially the snacks are tasty the egg chops , patties , croquets. The Afternoon lunch also is a delicacy specially xacuti with bread . Highly recommended if you visiting the Mapusa market.
My personal favorite was the croquettes here.... can’t stop eating.
And the best thing is whatever you don’t eat they take it back and subtract it from the bill. So you get to pay only for what you ate, this no wastage!

Loved the beef steak and beef cutlet. Good food!
My favorite joint for snacks when in Goa. The beef croquet are yummm so are the other snacks. The staff is polite. Ambience was OK.
Value for money and good food. Must try chilly chicken.
My go to place when in the mapusa market. All their snacks are delicious. Shakes are rich and filling. Love their croquettes and chops. Can never get enough of this place.

Nice place in the middle of the market
Very good ambience and friendly staff
Great food awesome fish thali and chicken cafreal must recommend
Cafe S.F Xavier is located in the heart of Mapusa market. It is famous among locals and tourists alike for delicious Goan snacks and curries. They serve variety of Goan snacks like croquettes, chops, patties, samosas and goan curries like sorpotel, cafreal and xacuti.
The ambiance was basic with ac and non-ac section. As soon as we enter, we were served plates full of snacks. We ate as much as we want from these plates and paid money for things that we consumed.
We tried prawn rissois, chicken patties, beef samosa, beef chops, beef croquettes and egg chops. I love chicken patties, beef samosa and prawn rissois. We also tried falooda. It was delicious and refreshing and had subtle rose flavor.
Overall it a good place to try goan snacks and falooda.
A popular cafe located in the busy Mapusa Market, tourists as well as localities throng this place mostly for their Chicken puff, Beef Croquettes & Lamb Chops. Most of their items are sold out by noon.
I tried the veg puff & chicken puff. Their puff pastry is quite crisp and the filling inside is quite moist. From the first bite you would know its made fresh. Some of the staff members are a bit rude towards customers, but that did not matter to me. I come here only for their puffs.
On your visit to Goa, make sure you make an early stop to this Cafe on your Mapusa market shopping spree. As tiring a day in the market is, this is a perfect stop in the midst to satisfy your hunger and quench your thirst.
Don't miss out on trying out their speacialities Beef Croquettes along with the Faluda Ice-cream.
And the best thing, it's reasonable on your pockets than other places in Goa.
This place is at the centre of the the market
Shopping and tired and super hungry so this is the most affordable and happening cafe
I really liked the mocktail so much that I went here twice in the same week😂
Must try here is sorpatal
It is served with a bun
The gravy of the sorpatal is made so nicely and the masala used is so yummy and suppose a person from any other place apart from goa is there, they will get that Goan taste
Also we ate fried rice
It was good it taste
Mocktail
Pina colada
How can i describe cafe s f xavier? Been here since a 3 yr old kid. Over 30 years they have created over 100 memories for me. The best thing is when you walk in the waiter gets you a plate full of snacks. Its not on the house though. This place is famous for its falooda but i come here now for the beer.. Its packed on Friday's thanks to the market so think twice before dropping in on a Friday..

Located in the heart of Mapusa Market, a place worth trying after a tiring day of shopping. The ambience here is like a normal restaurant, it has both ac and non-ac options and the service is good the waiters are friendly and helpful.

We ordered the
Prawns thali which came with steam rice, spicy prawns curry, fried fish, shellfish masala and two types of veggies. Recommend trying this over there.
We also had fried rice but that wasn't up to the mark, rather stick to the thalis.
Also, don't forget to order a chilled glass of Port Wine which goes perfectly with the prawns thali. :)
Perfect for old goan breakfast, Crowded but taste is superb. They don't need a Zomato review to show their worth. Families flock here after their regular Mapusa shopping. This is always on our eat list in every Goa visit.
Done with our Mapusa market shopping and off we go to the iconic Cafe S. F Xavier located in the market itself for some snacks and summer coolers.
In this restaurant as you get seated the server will place plates of snacks they have on offer. You can eat as much as you please from these and pay only for what you consume.
Today on our table were placed egg potato chops, beef croquettes, beef mince samosas and patties. We ordered for mango milkshakes and cold coffee.
Tummies full we set out again to see what more Mapusa market has to offer.
Excellent egg croquettes, keema pav and not-to-be-missed Goan bhaji and bread.
We took a while looking for the place which is bang in the middle of Mapusa municipal market, but worth every bit the time.
We came here for breakfast, but definitely on the agenda for other meals on another trip.
I have nothing more to say, than this - Xavier serves the best croquettes in town. When I'm finished with the marketing and you're hot and thirsty, some lovely cutlets and a chilled beer later, I'm a happy camper. I love the beef chilli, tongue, chicken xacuti, butter garlic squid, apple pie, brownies, caramel custard ... Mmmm
A good laid-back cafe in the middle of a market. I never miss going to this place for a quick snack when I am in mapusa.
A variety of crouquettes, pattices, rolls and chops with some chilled beer is what I like a lot. All these snacks are prepared fresh the morning so I would recommend to have it only in the mornings as in the evening it's a bit stale and they don't even make the effort to warm it up. I haven't really tried a lot other than the snacks but their chilli fry especially beef and prawn, xacuti and fried fish is quite delicious too.
The service is a slow but it's the whole laid back attitude you get all over and you won't really have a problem unless you are not on vacation. Overall a very nice cafe to stop buying while you are shopping in the market or if you are around mapusa.
Been visiting place since years , admist the market centrally located best place to stop by & satisfy your hunger , pretty amazing breakfast, from their famous Crockett to gown sweets , meat Patti's to chilled beers & authentic beef chilly fry you have it all here ;)
Absolute value for money , quick service & good staff
The restaurant is amidst the market. I have been visiting this place since years. They usually place an assorted variety of puffs, chops or cutlets on your name. You are charged per piece consumed.
We ate chicken rolls, beef chops and egg chops: Pretty basic. They didn't even make it hot while serving. It's gradually become a laid back restaurant.
Chicken Xacuti: The portion is enough for two. It tasted good. We ordered a portion of rice along.
The standout dish at this restaurant is fish thali. This means I will opt for fish thali henceforth. They serve fish thali for 180. This includes
Portion of rice
Half of crispy fish fry with head.
A fish coconut curry
Squids masala fry
Clams in traditional style
Dried prawns in Goan style.
Pickle
One vegetable.
The service was good, the food was nice. Vegetarians wouldn't like eating at this restaurant.
A good place to visit with friends it offers snacks, lunch, drinks everything. A popular place in Mapusa which is mostly busy anytime of the day. The food quality is normal nothing extraordinary.
Foods tried:
1) Egg chop: a good combination of egg, liked it would recommend everyone to try it.
2) Beef chop: personally didn't like it there wasn't sufficient quantity of beef in it.
3) Caramel pudding: The caramel pudding to was not that great. It wasn't soft I.e it wasn't just melting in the mouth it could be better.
This place can definitely improve their food quantity.
Best fish thali also should try the snacks.........
If you like goan food and wanna have a quick bite around mapusa this is the best place.........
If you are in Mapusa Market to Shop ,Xavier is the One stop cafe you get your Refilling and Proceeded Next Stop in Goa.
Mix Snacks all mainly Beef comprises of Beef Puff,Samosa, cutlet .Perfect combination for hight tea snacks with Chai...Cheers !!!

Excellent snacks always as well as ever creamy cold coffee with ice cream .Great service! Excellent ambience all the time.Keep it up guys!!!!
Beef croquettes are amazing! This place has an ambient atmosphere, one of the most old café in Mapusa. The chaii here is good. This place was suggested by many people, so we had to come visit this café. This chaii and the snacks wore worth the visit and travel.
The service is good and quick.

Great place to go after shopping in the heat!
Would love to visit again in the near future...
A well known cafe that has maintained its standards after being 30 years in business!
Must try's : Falooda and the beef croquets
This cafe has been around for more than 30 years.. A very famous cafe among Goans and a must visit if you are in the city of Mapusa.
Cheap, quick service, decent ambience, great snacks
Good food , staff and drinks ..happy with the service .
Mouth watering food loved the chicken cafreal , snacks ,stakes and seafood thali!! The fresh juices and shakes are really worth it and tasty! Been going here for years and it never has failed to disappoint me. Would Recommend everyone to check the place out
Best place to get a goan style beef meal. Fast service, good shakes and juices. Presentation was good, haven't tried many dishes but the chicken cafreal is amazing
Fantastic place for snacks after shopping at mapusa market. I like their beef croquettes, samosas, beef Puffs and egg Puffs. I also tried their Fish thali, which was just ok. So, a must visit for snacks if you are in mapusa market.
This was a pretty small place located in Mapsa market. You will have to really find your way through to search for this Cafe, but it's totally worth it. The service is sinply too damn quick. We tried the beef steak, which we expected to be amazing & it definitely was! We just couldn't compliment the beef any longer as it was simply too good with sufficient amount of sauce poured. The chicken steak was well prepared too and the steak can easily suffice two people. Their chinese items are good too & cheap!
Decent enough place if you are around Mapusa market and get hungry. Ambience and seating is very basic. The menu is extensive, but they didn't have some of the items from the menu when we visited (don't know if it was a one-off or regular) The service is polite, prices are reasonable. There was a bit of a delay in getting our bill.
The food was really Awsum. .... my first step in Goa and it was a delicious entrée. ...... yummy food value for money.... the chops were amazing..... and so was the steak . The fish thali was the best as it wasn't like the one in Mumbai.... this thali was fish. ... fish.... and only fish
I love dis place. I hv sentimental feelings but the food we ordered was yummy. Beef patties, watermelon juice and bhaji pav. If u want a quick bite in one of the old establishments in mapuca dis is the place to go! Will def go again and again 😎
If you are a pucca non-veg fan and love pork and beef, go here. The beef croquettes, pork chops, beef puffs and sausage pulav is awesome. Authentic flavour and value for money!
i am surprised no one has reviewed xaviers cafe.
its like the watering hole for all bomaikars. if you want a spot in the hustle and bustle of mapusa market, then this is the place to be.
croquettes are a big hit if you mange to get them. the draught beer is awesome on a hot summers day.
Having grown up eating in SFX cafe whenever on holidays in my native makes me feel so excited to re-vist this place. So the ambience is simple. U pay for whatever u eat. I enjoy the Beef samosa, croquettes, puff, pork chops & sausage pulao. Recommending it.

Went there on a sunny afternoon .. had pork chops & fried rice along with chicken chilly... service was quick, pork chops were mouthwatering slow cooked tender meat .. fresh juices were lifesaver in the hot sun ..
In the heart of Mapusa market, its the beat place to stop over for a beer when shopping.. Delicious goan food, especially the snacks. Try the beef patties, egg chops, beef samosas...
This place is meant for snack and more. There is adequate place to sit and has air conditioning too. The food served here is Goan food which means mostly non veg. Their snacks are worth dying for. They also offer some delicious fruit smoothies I highly recommend the avocado. Coming to the ambiance, it's pleasant and very family friendly. You will find mostly a Catholic crowd in here as they offer beef and pork dishes. Overall, the place is really good and food is reasonably priced too. 😊
Great Masala omlet, Chicken Xacuti was unlike any I have had, really great taste and very well spiced. But the star was the kheema pao, topped with chopped raw onions and a squeeze of lime. Delicious.
You cannot miss Cafe S.F. Xavier whenever you are shopping at Mapusa Market.
I have been visiting this cafe since childhood and have lovely memories to cherish to this day!
Their snacks and food are the most authentic, specially their chicken xacuti with pav (bread)
To the cafe team and owners ..."Keep it up!"
They have snacks and food too. Had tried their kheema pav last year. Worth it.
The fish thali, good quantity but wasn't that great. The chicken steak is regular Goan Preparation. Creme Caramel was slightly burnt.
Would recommend kheema pav, biryani, falooda and other beverages. Alcohol is also available here.
I've been visiting Cafe Xavier for decades and a trip here is always full of nostalgia. I love the snacks (and I miss the time when the staff used to give snack plates, take back the remaining and calculate your bill accordingly.) The falooda (although without the vermicelli) and the juices have been consistent. I miss the old brown and peach interiors.
The seating needs to be upgraded.. sofas are wonky and hollow in some places. You only get rissois and egg chops if you are very lucky.. please have more stock of these items. The main courses are also sold out very quickly (either sold out or they don't make it and say they are sold out.
Most of the items on the menu card are cancelled.. might as well make a new menu rather than making customers play hide and seek to find the available items among the cancelled/unavailable items.
Still, nothing but love for this iconic cafe.
I have eaten here twice and my first experience was good i had tried the biryani here it was the good average biryani, the second time i had fish thali here , so for me atleast I didnt like the taste of curry and they gave too much of kismoor overall very average thali , only their service was good imo
Worth it! We had chicken xacutti, sorbotel, kingfish fry, and so many other dishes, including a glass of port wine. The fish was my favorite, xacutti was also incredible. Definitely try this place out.
This place has hardly changed in the last 20years. The snacks are amazing, but you have to get there before 11am on most days. Try the samosas / croquets and egg/beef rolls.
Ask for fresh fruit juice without ice and you are in for a treat.
Pre COVID they use to drop a plate of snacks and charged you only on the consumed items.
Awesome yummilicious scrumptious food at a price you will want to punch yourself to believe. We tried the sorpotel but was not impressed, but the beef chilly and fish thali took my breathe away in every night.
Amazing place to get quick bites, true authentic goan snack. Price is bit on the higher side but definitely worth it. We tried almost all the different snacks n were still hungry for more. This is also an old Cafe and the standards are still intact.

A very old and famous cafe , great for some finger foods and snacks. They have tea and coffee as well. We tried their potato chops , beef croquettes and chicken pattice. We enjoyed it all. They serve simple but delicious home cooked meals. The staff here are extremely kind and courteous .
One of the.most iconic Goan snacks and food place in Mapuca town. Been visiting it since my college days in the 70s. Do drop in. Lovely Goan snacks and meals. Forget the crummy influencers. Take a real goans opinion for it.
Don't miss Cafe Xaviers in Mapusa market. The fish Thali is so generous, with huge piece of fish fry. The accompaniments of squid, fish gravy and one veg dish is also big servings. The menu changes daily. Joseph is the best head waiter there. Ample seating and also had a AC mezanine area.
Amazing pocket friendly cafe with delicious food! A must visit in Mapusa market for a quick bite.
A must visit place behind the Mapusa bus stand in the market to get good Goan snacks and meals.
Must try their snack platters with choice of chicken, beef, veg. They also have rolls burgers all based on availability, best to visit in the mornings to see their wide menu. They also have continental meals available with juices and alcohol served.
One of the better places for better tasting food since decades. Reasonably priced.
