The hotel's homely food was a delightful experience, reminiscent of a home-cooked meal. The tasty pickles added a burst of flavor, and the fish fry and fish polichathu were absolutely delicious. A wonderful culinary journey for those seeking authentic and comforting dishes.

Really delicious authentic Kerela cuisine. Their vegetarian platter was super good, and the fresh water fish dish was even better. Also was really cost effetive.

Granma Hotel was THE BEST eating outlet in and around Mararikulam beach. I visited this place after doing some research on google and it was such an amazing restaurant that I ended up visiting this place thrice in 3 days. Finding this restaurant is not tricky at all. It is near Shreemahadev temple (roughly about 1.5 kms from Mararikulam beach). This restaurant is just 50 meters from a railway crossing. Since I honestly don’t have any cons about this place, I will just write the highlights: 1. Vegetarian Food was simply the BEST PART. It was fresh, delicious, home cooked and carried all local flavours. A vegetarian thali that included rice, rasam, curd, sambhar, beatroot pickle, coconut based veggies, popaddum and couple of other sides :) Do try Porota (kerela style bread) 2. Fish and Prawn masala - This was OMG taste for a non veg lover like myself. All above veggie thali inclusions will come with a bowl full of tuna or a local fish curry and plate of prawn masala. Simply DELICIOUS. I went twice to the restaurant to eat the same sea food. Make sure to visit the restaurant between 12:30 to 3:00 pm to enjoy above sea food. 3. Food was served in banana leaf which was very authentic and unique 4. Place is neat and clean with basic furniture 5. You will be greater with a whole hearted smile 😃 If ur staying anywhere in or around Marari beach or Alleppy.. DO NOT MISS a chance to visit this place. Simply amazing.

We happened upon this amazing restaurant last week. The welcome - together with the food was incredible! There was no menu as such - just suggestions from the proprietor’s wife. A veritable feast arrived about 20 mins later. Probably the best food we had during two weeks in Kerala. It all felt very authentic. No frills - just wonderful food, great hospitality, fantastic atmosphere, chat with the proprietor and his wife and then an introduction to their lovely little daughter. We felt nothing was too much trouble. All smiles. We will definitely seek them out when we return. What a treat?! Cheap too!

Excellent experience. The place feels like a relative's house, rather than a restaurant. The place is very clean and one can trust the quality and hygiene of the food from the neatness of the dining room. We were not allowed to wear our footwear inside the dining room. Fresh and tasty food and very economical too. It's just a 1.5 km drive from the highway and is way much better than the restaurants in highway. Parking facility is minimal and the roofing was using gi sheet and hence was hot inside.

Need to maintain a little more cleanliness. Afternoon session only serves with Kerala Meals veg amd Non-Veg varieties with Kerala rice. Special Fish varities are available on request. Porotta, Chappathi and other light foods are available with chicken and tasty Beef curry in Dinner time.

Wow. Amazing local cooking that’s fresh, organic, and healthy. We got the vegan “meal”. It’s like a thali - a combination of gravies with rice and papadum. The family here is incredible, too.

Very good food! We were on holidays in Marari and were really struggling with food — there are no good seafood cafes on the beach. But here — it was really delicious! Pity, we found this place only in the last day Thank you!

If you are around Marari here you get the best food and delicious food at very reasonable price. Home made food, it’s not a restaurant to order fast food, it’s perfect for delicious Kerala home meals. Enjoy 👍🏻
