Authentic Japanese cuisine which won't burn a hole in your wallet. They also have a decent collection of Japan-centric books. There's a nice open space too, overlooking the Bhagsu and Dharamkot hamlets which is best enjoyed with a glass of Amazake in your hand. Croquettes are highly recommended as evening snack and yeah don't forget to taste their lemon tarts.
Lung Ta has been one of my favourite places in McLeodganj. Since 2014, they are serving Japanese cuisine at the most genuine prices. I love the place, even though it is a small walk away from McLeodganj square. The manga collection is unlike anywhere in India.
A ridiculously cheap vegetarian Japanese restaurant next to my hotel. I stopped by for an herbal tea to wait for my friend, but decided to try the Potato Croquettes with Salad - 80 Rupees ($1.30). They were great!
The tea was 20 rupees (32 cents), bringing the total to a whopping 100 rupees ($1.62), likely the best value in McLeod Ganj or India for that matter!

Had easily the best Vegetarian meal of my life (arguably best Japanese meal of my life?) Had the Monday special; Super clean flavours, super authentic ambience- a nice break from the north Indian food me and my friend had been eating for the past few days. I have nothing bad to say about this place.
Cozy place tucked in the busy bazaar..they have a set menu for everyday and they wouldn’t serve anything other than that.just that else it deserved a five star.mind it they don’t have the best of social skills but the food is an absolute hit..it’s simple and clean full of flavour..absolute must visit..
This is the hidden gem of McLeodganj! The food is amazingly good and is served at incredible prices. It felt more like a community kitchen than a restaurant while we were there. I took the set menu. I loved the miso soup and the sushi - wasabi was great! Other orders included the rice cake and Udon. Both were good. If you like Japanese food, this is a must go place in McLeodganj. I would certainly revisit if I am in McLeodganj.
I have been associated with this place since many years and seriouly this place has got amazing positive vibes. This is a non profit vegetarian restaurant which serves set menus everyday. I always visit on tuesdays especially for sushi. Food is always good and this place is cosmopolitan, u will find people from different parts of world here.

The servers are very friendly and help you with deciding what to eat.

It was so good, the portions were perfect. The food was so flavourful and balanced. Totally recommend this if you’re bored of having Tibetan food in Mcleodganj!

They open at noon…one has to go early to get the best items on menu, specially the desserts of the day.
This is the one-stop solution for every Japanese craving you have in McLeodganj. The atmosphere, the large manga cabinet, the unbelievably genuine and nice old couple hosting is all worth the cost effective dishes you have here.
The cost of dishes here is surprising if you've wasted a few bucks cafe hunting in McLeodganj. Japanese food is more than raw fishes so do go here and try some new tastes like Okonomiyaki. Don't forget to say "Arigato Gosaimas" while leaving, duh.
I have no clue how Japanese food should taste. This was my first trial with Japanese cuisine & it was pretty decent. Foreigner friends vouch for it so am sure it's quite authentic.
You need to have a taste for this cuisine. Though 100% veg, it might taste quite different coz of seaweed.
We went with the Tuesday special. The Miso soup was good & so was the Sushi, though frankly it was too different a taste for me to end it. DEFINITELY give this place a try if you have a taste for trying different cuisine. A beaten down place but we liked the vibe. Peaceful, calm & uncle was super nice with his hindi dialect. ❤
Food is good with a lot of Japanese and Chinese literature to books to read. You may find someone having a deep conversation with a monk also. But, the washroom facilities are not good. It would be better if they could improve upon that.
Open at 12 o'clock . Very nice food. I vote for Omrice. It's 120 rupee. Everyday will have special meal with 240 rupee. I choose tofu in special meal so it's just price 100 rupee. Serve very fast. Have outdoor. Sunday closed. And break time from 2p.m to 5p.m
The only Japanese place in town and the only place in the area that will serve you from bringing the menu to paying the bill within half an hour. Very friendly staff and atmosphere as if you are visiting your friends house. Lots of books, magazines and comics to read while you eat and drink. Service is great! Food is amazing! We came here almost every other day while our 10 days stay in the area. The menu simple but consistently delicious!
We’ve tried almost everything on the menu by the end of our stay there and not a single item has left us unsatisfied.
If you are in McLeod Ganj definitely check them out! Everyone knows that place!

I have a little exposure to Japanese food, at Lung Ta, my taste palette enjoyed all the delicious food they served, I had the special set on two different days of my stay, loved it, the atmosphere is great too
