My taste buds are still dancing from our last visit! Everything from the starters to the entrees to the desserts meshed perfectly with my flavor-profile. The decor was unique and incredible. Vegetables were delicious and deserts were awesom i liked jalebi and basundi . Nice staff. Good place to visit with family for proper gujrati thali.

Kansar at Express Inn a indeed a thali paradise. We visited here on a weekday and enjoyed a scrumptious thali at an affordable rate. We are really fond of unlimited thalis because it is so good to keep binging something you really enjoy and what better than Kathiyawadi food since we're Gujaratis.
So this Thali had a range of dishes from salad, farsan - dhokla , vada, papad, rotis, rice, sabjis, curry, lentil, legume, sweet and most importantly chhas. The service was very humble and we had a nice lunch.

Very recently I visited Kansar Kathiyavadi to satisfy my Thali cravings. This place is located at Express Inn hotel, Ghodbunder road Thane. Me and my friends made this plan on a pleasant monsoon afternoon to catchup over lunch.
The interiors of the place are simple and royally done and it's more of a family place. The servers here make you feel delighted as if you're home by serving food with an open heart. All the food served here is hygienic and also healthy. It is not heavy on spices and homely. The rotis here were so good with dripping ghee and it was a complete meal comprising salad, dhokla, vada, dal, kadhi, sabjis, rotis, rice, papad, sweet and all this at a price of 299 ! I'm surely gonna visit here with my family soon
Kansaar is a beautiful place located on thane- ghodbandar road. It's a kathiawadi thaali place located in express in hotel. Food is typical kathiawadi style and offers good variety of dishes. The menu is good. They offer 3 vegetables, 2 type of daal/kadhi, roti, bajra rotla, puranpoli, salad, papad, chaash, rice, farsaan, and different kind of chutney.
The cost of thaali is around 350 and every penny is worth it. The service is super fast and staff is humble. It's a very good place for family gatherings or for any occasions.
It's a must try place if you are a fan of Gujarat/kathiawadi food.

Talking about the food, this place serves unlimited pure Gujurati thalis @300 INR. Which includes four sabjis, dal & kadhi, rice, khichdi, roti, puri, one sweet, two farsans, chass, salads, chutneys, pickles and papad.
I also felt the overall food to be a bit more on the sweeter side, than usual. This is something they should work on.
The food quality was just like home, and is indeed a pleasant experience.

One such is Kathiyawadi food which is a dialect of Gujarati cuisine. This cuisine took birth in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat.
There is a thin line of difference between Kathiyawadi and Gujarati food because Kathiyawadi has more of legumes and pulses and is slightly spicy whereas Gujrati food is more into leafy and other vegetables and also towards the sweeter side.
I visited Kansar and had a Kathiyawadi Thali.
The place is one where you dont eat as per your wish / need but with the servers love who tend to serve you more and more.
The Thali comprised of many dishes starting with Salad, Batata Vada, Dhokla, Gawar sabji, Baigan Sabji, Curry, Dal, Ghee Roti, Rice, Puran Poli, Chacch, Papad.

Located inside Hotel Express Inn in Thane-Ghodbunder Road; Kasar is a Pure Veg Kathiawadi restaurant which serves Kathiawadi and Gujarati unlimited thali. They have valet parking available and the place is big enough so we do not need reservation although during peak days you might expect 15-20 minutes waiting.
I visited this place with my fellow friends on a Wednesday afternoon. The restaurant is designed in Gujarati style with wooden cushioned chairs and tables and also the frames and showpieces depict Gujarati culture. The servers serve you with a smile and they do not stop serving you till you tell them no so keep this in mind too. Their spread comprises of varieties of farsans, 2-3 types of dals, different vegetables, assorted rotis, and a sweet (it was Puran Poli for us on that day) along with cold chass to relish.
Overall, their food is authentic Gujarati style which is served with whole heart and smile. Their thali was prices at 299 plus GST which was a fair deal looking at the unlimited good food they offer to relish on the taste buds.

Being a true Gujarati when it comes to food, I am always on the lookout for places that serve authentic Gujarati food in Mumbai and when I discovered Kansar at Express Inn in Mira Road, I wasted no time and headed there right away.
They have quite a happy thali with a wide variety of farsans, dals, vegetables, rotis and mithai. And of course chaas. For โน299, I could have unlimited servings of everything on my thali, and I couldn't have been happier.
Come here on an an empty stomach to enjoy this experience at its best, and their impeccable service will definitely take your tastebuds on a culinary trip into the heart of Gujarat (and sometimes Rajasthan). I'm glad that I don't have to travel all the way to Gujarat to get my hands on such a beautiful spread anymore.
As feedback, I think they can work on the sweetness of certain items such as moong. Everything on a Gujarati thali doesn't have to be sweet to make people like it.
P.S.- Don't forget to stop the waiters from serving you when you're full, because they won't stop serving you fresh hot food until told! ๐

What a great place for Gujarati Kathiyawadi Thali! The food tastes authentic and the rates for the thali are extremely pocket friendly!! This restaurant is a part of Express Inn Hotel located on the Western Express Highway somewhere near Mira Road. Perfect dine in for travellers coming to Mumbai or leaving Mumbai for Gujarat. Itโs a pure veg restaurant.
They have different dishes as part of their thali on different days. My thali had chana dal dudhi, dahi moong dal, aalu palak & gobi vatana. All the veggies tasted good. The Gujarati kadhi and dal were also a part of the thali along with chawal, roti, rotlo, papad! Farsan had ghughra & dhokla!! And summers called for aam ras puri! Overall a great meal for a very reasonable price!!

We visited Kansar Kathiyawadi thali restaurant on a Diwali afternoon. The place is located at the Fountain Hotel junction in Express Inn. The wait time was over 45 minutes. The seating arrangements are slightly crammed yet comfortable. The serving staff are pretty prompt and always on their toes for serving food.
We kicked off our Thali with some salad, yellow dhoklas and mini samosa with garlic chutney. Samosas were very well prepared and Dhoklas were standardish.
Next came in the main course with 4 vegetables, namely, Undhiyu, Paneer corn masala, mix vegetables and moong curry along with daal, Gujarati curry, puri, roti and bajra roti.
All the vegetables were delicious especially the paneer corn masala and moong curry. The dal and curry were standard fare. Veg pulav followed the Indian breads.
On the desserts menu, we had jalebi and fruit salad. We were even gifted a mug ๐
Overall it was a great dining experience. I would rate it at par with Rajdhani Thali.

This place is situated just next to the fountain hotel in Ghodbunder making it pretty easy to locate.
The place has decent interiors and plays light music where you can actually sit down and have a conversation as you have your meal. The thali we tried had:
Starters - Kachori & dhoklas were served with theekha and mettha chutneys and tasted yum.
There was a mixed farsan which had 2 types of papad and roasted peanuts. The papad served were baked and not fried.
Subjiz - There was aloo ki subzi and palak ki subzi which i was initially hesitant to try, but to my surprise it tasted amazing as it was prepared in proper authentic kathiyawadi way. Also, there was vaal nu shark / butter beans subzi, which again was delicious and different to its usual preparation method.
They served white gujarati Kadhi (the traditional sweet dal preparation) and a teekha daal.
The most amazing part was their garlic chutney, it was a tad oily but a treat to the taste buds, I would term it as the gujju schezwan sauce.
Finally they served rice or khichdi depending on what you like. My recommendation would be their khichdi.
The chaas served along with the meal was refreshing and my personal favourite.

So I have been to this place quite a many times now and have enjoyed being here everytime.
So this place serves a pure veg delicious kathiyawadi thali with a variety of farsans, rotis, vegetables and desserts.
The thali generally has two farsans which may be from the following :Corn samosa, Moong daal kachori, Khaman, Dhokla, Patra, Vegetable Samosa, Sandwich dhokla etc. These can be enjoyed with green or imli chutney that is always available on the table.
The sabjis in the dish include mostly one paneer sabji, one sabji of sprouts with curd gravy, one mix vegetables and other two gravys.
In daals you have an option between gujarati mithi daal and one normal daal tadka and also kadhi.
These all accompanied by phulka rotis, puris and bajra rotla. In rice you have option between plain white rice, veg pulav and sometimes they have an option of masala khichdi also.
The thali normally has two dessert dishes. In summers, aamras is usually served. It is accompanied by one of these dishes: gajar halwa, dudhi halwa, moong daal halwa, fruit custard, gulab jaamun, sitaphal basundi etc.
They served chilled buttermilk along with these all delicacies.
This is a perfect place for a Saturday/Sunday Lunch with family.

Two times in a week i got a chance to have lunch at this place.this isnโt my first time visiting,i had been here before also and also love the hospitality and food.this time had a chance to try aamras as the season of mangoes going on.to be honest,it wasnโt the real mango aamras but it wasnโt tht bad also.the pulp was thick as directly from container without adding water or something.the vegetables were good at taste.most importantly tht thereโs not much sweetness to the taste as this kind of thalis have sweetened taste.it was normal.all rotis and bhakri were made of pure aata.it seems no maida used.aamras serving guy was a bit more friendly so was forcing again and again to hve more so i dint refused him for first two times but after tht my stomach capacity gave up๐๐.
The ambiance was as always great.i felt the service little bit not upto the mark or rather I would say more faster then ever as it was Sunday afternoon and there were waiting line,so tht can be excused,otherwise food quality tht time too was good no minus there.
The food was amazing . The best part of the Thali was the aamras and puri . You get so many variety in the good that your stomach is full but u still feel to eat .

If you are on the drive to ghodbunder road do visit the place. The place has a vibe of Gujarat.
Here, you donโt have to decide the menu. They offer a lot of variety in the Thali. I bet you cannot eat everything on the plate.
It has a perfect ambience means a sort of kathiyawadi style like a thali as serving plates and staff also dressing similarly. And the magic lies in the consistency and the customer service.

After long I had a thali and this was really worth the wait. Simple yet filling unlimited thali. Non stop hot fulka with loads of ghee, rotla with ghee, and everything else u want was unlimited. Itโs a boon for people travelling to n from vapi side. The moment u sit the service starts. Truly an express meal.
Everything was excellent except the chana Masala. Had excessive garlic I think.
Great place for a good pocket friendly meal.!

I am fond of Gujarati Thali so love trying various Thali restaurants. Kansar Kathiyawadi has been on my bucket list for some time. We visited here for Lunch this Diwali.
Kansar Kathiyawadi is a Kathiyawadi / Gujarati Thali restaurant located at Hotel Express Inn in Versave / Mira Road near the junction of Western Express Highway and Ghodbunder Road. It is pretty crowded over weekends and holidays so reservation is recommended.
The Thali is quite reasonably priced. They serve a mix of Kathiyawadi and Gujarati cuisine. They also have option for Jain food. The service is okay considering the rush.
Coming to food, the menu consisted 2 sweets - strawberry basundi and shahi tukda, 2 starters - corn rolls and dhokla, 4 sabzis - veg kolhapuri, turiya mungdal, aloo rassawala and chowli dahiwala, 2 dals - gujarati dal and kadhi, 3 breads - fulka roti, bajra rotla and poori, accompanied by pulao, salad, papad, lasun chutney and chaas.
Both sweets were quite good. Breads, Sabzis and Pulao were good. Dals and Starters were relatively average. Overall a decent Thali experience, especially at the offered price and must try once for the Kathiyawadi cuisine.

On this day we always prefer thali restaurants because don't want to waist time on deciding what to order as you all know... So this time we thought to give this a try .. food was good authentic kathiyawadi food , ambitious was good , service was also good just we have to wait for our table because so many people are there for same reason..
So if you ever carved for thali and want it at a reasonable price do visit this please .
recently visited with my family. Interior of restaurant is good. We order unlimited thali. kichdi was not good. Rest dishes was. Dish price is high as compare to quality. Ample parking available. But too much traffic at night.
The place is easy to find and the ambience is quite simple like all thali serving places.
ย dhokla made the mini samosa was good.
Love quality of food and specially thaali , i tries jain thaali and it was delicious so i would definitely suggest this place for jains and for everyone and ambience and service was upto mark so for me it's great place
Finally had kansar's thali. I must admit that the food quality is extremely good.But you will have to wait for your turn as you will be standing in the queue for at least 20 minutes. Once you get the table, you will have to hurry up and get done with your meal as the waiters will keep nagging you.
But do visit this place once with your family.
Visited this place recently..have been really looking for a new cuisine type and kathiavadi was in the list..place is definitely good to go for if you love traditional Indian.. unlimited thali can really make you full to the throat but its amazing and it will give you burpiiiieeess..loved it
I am always worried about greasy and spicy Kathiyavadi food. But thali at kansar is quite an exception. Not at all oily and the spiciness which you can handle. I was expecting sev tamate nu shak n the usual stuff but than Kansar offered some other Kathiyavadi dishes which people are not aware of. The meal was awesome only request is please take off the orange colored rice from your menu
At Sunday we were finding a place for dinner but didn't want the North Indian or multi cuisine food. So had been to kansar kathiyawadi for the Gujarati taste. After a drive on ghodbunder road had settled for this place. As we were early at this place so we didn't have to wait.

You get the above things but the dishes vary day to day. So u need to enquire priorly. And the taste is perfect.

Above average place . Pretty decent ambience and food was real tasty . Served very hot . Price economical and good value for money . Can go again and again
Gujrati Thali was amazing. Quick service.Neat and Clean. Cooling was superb as room temperature was approx 17-18 degree centigrade. There were lot of activities for kids.Overall experince was good. You should taste Gujrati Thali at least once.
I recently tried Kansar Kathiyawadi Thali on the expressway and quite enjoyed the food.
The food wasn't very spicy which is a good thing.
I liked a few things a lot like the aloo sabji, paneer sabji and the samosa in the shape of a chilli.
The food is good overall. However, I would have loved more Kathiyawadi sabjis like sev tameta , baingan bharta or lasaniya bateta etc.
None the less, it was tasty.
The service could have been better, more attentive staff.
Overall a good place to try.

Awesome place for truly unlimited thali. Serve 2-4 types of indian breads like Puri, roti, Paratha and bajra rotla. Undhiyu is served in winter. Service is quick and starts right the moment you sit at the table. Very warm friendly and polite staff. Don't miss it while traveling from Thane or Gujarat towards Mumbai.
Unlimited thali with many varieties 3 types of roti, 4 types of sabji, sweet, Chass, salad, dhokla, kachori, etc many more can't describe. Complete package.
If ur planing to have a pure vegetarian dinner then only prefer this hotels it's literally very good in taste but it's taste will only identify if ur vegetarian then.... If ur a non vegetarian please dont visit... It's very special dishes provide it's mainly from gujarati and Rajasthani thali per thali cost is 340โน per person . every vegetarian should visit and prefer this hotel best place for family. Hotel has huge space for parking evening for spending time at night exactly it's beside fountain hotel... The hotel is named as Express Inn.
The food, Ambience and taste is good!
We went for lunch and ordered thali plate which was โน350/- per plate. The taste was amazing! Especially Paneer, dal, kadi, salad and the sweets(kheer and rabdi ๐๐๐). I would say it was like unlimited food as the servers were coming in between and asking if we needed roti, rice or anything else. People traveling towards Gujarat or traveling through the highway must take a stop here and have lunch.

Food Dignify Cultures. India being a land of cultural diversity, we are extremely lucky to have varieties of dishes that cooked as per specific region. Though one dish originates in one state will enchant you by unique taste in different states, that's something which hold us together. @expressinnthane I always devour and get myself same feeling to it. My review follows.
Fluffy and airy dhokla, little sweet started great with contrasting Samosa which contained mashed potato vegetables had spice to it.
In Mains first time in rare I had Shahi Paneer Rajasthani which was surprisingly spicy though I thought it was sweet by looking at its color. Had strong clove flavor to it. Besan gatta - one of my favorite, the gravy made in curd, tadka was appropriate, red color layer, small little chopped besan balls soaked nicely in gravy. Haldi ki Sabji - One of my favorite and most popular during winter season. Extremely healthy as it contains mashed turmeric (not powder) and mix veggies. Feel of pure ghee, spicy, but delicious. Hariyali Dum Aloo - Again unique combination, green color gravy may be some spinach contains in it, not sweet but starchy potato will makes it for you. Had garlic too which was even used in Haldi ki Sabji but not too strong. Baati was chopped and I sinked in Dal, became soft at last, add some kadhi to it (sweet or spicy depends on your taste). I liked sabjis so much as I finished all by eating with spoon. I had had couple of bites of Rice and Khichadi Kadhi Papad - must try combination.
Game Changing Desserts. Paneer Kheer - Very thick, rich, dry fruits in it, cardamom, extremely flavorful. Not too sweet that's why I would recommend it to refill as much as you want just I did. ๐ Tiranga Malai Sandwich was extremely soft, stuffing (cream) was sweet thought. Ditto with Rajbhog but had well cardamom flavor to it. I mixed these sweets in Paneer Kheer and I was in Ecstacy. Desserts what made my entire meal experience was fabulous note.
Service was quick, rotis were soft too.
I loved there unique preparations, style, menu keeps changing. Visit on weekends for more delightful options. These special occasions always makes me delighted. ๐

One of the best places for gujrati, marwari thali. Best time to go os any time of the week. Lunch starts at 12 noon and is available till 3:30 pm. Dinner is from 7 pm to 11 pm. Staff is very friendly. Sunday is their busiest day ( I guess) and there is 15 to 20 mins of waiting time if you reach after 1:30pm ( for lunch).

Corn rolls and Patra( didn't try the Patra)
Paneer sabji( superb taste)
Dum aloo ( the best dish today)
Bhindi ( was pretty good)
Dahi fried chawli( beans)
Roti, poori
Dal, kadhi, sweet dal and rice ( rice was superb)
4 types of pickles ( all good)
Papad, chaas
All unlimited and very well made with good ingredients. I think I paid 740/- ( or 760/-) for 2. My date for the day ( my mom) loved it and have full marks ( mission successful , Paisa vasool)
This is a very well run and managed place ( well oiled mechanism) definitely a go if you crave for good soul food.
Kansaar is a beautiful place located on thane- ghodbandar road. It's a kathiawadi thaali place located in express in hotel. Food is typical kathiawadi style and offers good variety of dishes. The menu is good. They offer 3 vegetables, 2 type of daal/kadhi, roti, bajra rotla, puranpoli, salad, papad, chaash, rice, farsaan, and different kind of chutney.
The cost of thaali is around 350 and every penny is worth it. The service is super fast and staff is humble. It's a very good place for family gatherings or for any occasions.
It's a must try place if you are a fan of Gujarat/kathiawadi food.

A descent Guju thali...stomach filling. 2farsans, 4types of veggies, 2 types of dal, 2 Indian sweets, 2types of rotis, khichidi and peas rice. The chaos was not that great. Food was good to taste and service was also apt. The best is about the thali is the people serving do not stand on your head.

Itโs an economically priced amazing thali restaurant in the outskirts of Thane. I had a meeting planned around this place and I was on the lookout of a good vegetarian restaurant when I stumbled upon this place. The food is amazing. There is a good parking space available just outside the restaurant. Could be a good place to have your lunch on Tanna accompanied with a shot and pleasurable dry. Highly recommend it to my fellow foodies
