We booked our stay at Ashwem and discovered this gem though the place is open and looks very local types and will not impress you with the decor or ambiance but the food is worth to try.
Some of the fingerlicking dishes we had here:-
Dry Garlic Chicken
Tomato Soup
Prawns Fry
Mixed Naan
Stuffed Naan
Dal Makhni
Paneer Chilly
Prawns Curry
Prawns Rice
Fried Rice
If you happen to go nearby Arambol, Morjim do visit this place for some good food without burning a hole in your pockets.
Great food but ordinary ambience - family type place in north Goa - presentation and prices were good - basically a good place for Goan food.
Best Goan that you will get this side of Chapora. The grills and the tandoori is also amazing. It is open through the year with great seafood. Ask them for the daily catch!
I am regular visitor to Goa, like many others. The only thing that I do differently - "satisfy my taste buds by visiting this place every single time". This place over the years, has become an indispensable item on our to-dos in Goa, irrespective of where we are put up - Baga, Anjuna, Arombol and the likes. If you happen to be staying in Baga or Anjuna, the ride/drive till this place is amazing and after that the lip-smacking food here is simply rejuvenating. Cheese Pakora, Fried Rice and Dal are some of my personal favorties, but I bet every dish on their menu is worth trying. The quantity is enough to leave one feeling full and satisfied and along with that, the pricing is reasonable here in comparison to many other famous places in Goa and for all these reasons, this place rightly deserves to be listed under the Hidden Gems section in Zomato. Though the place lacks in ambiance, but then again its an open air restaurant far away from the hustle-bustle of Baga/Calangute and I think that is the best way to enjoy and relax while in Goa!
Do drop in, on your next visit to Goa! :D
Found this place on Hidden Gems section on Zomato at Anjuna beach. Filling food for 6, nonveg as well as veg, for just 1200 buks. And that too during January. A life saver in times of crunch, when in Goa. Do I need to say more ?! This place is a km or two prior to morjim beach, north of goa.

A must try for really good goan food if you are near Arambol/Ashvem.
It was the first day of this Resto after the off season. We didn't know this. Yet without ice or a bar menu available, we dared to check out the rest of this place. We saw a "trip advisor" sticker on one table here and assumed that it must be decent resto because we had also got recommendations from a couple of locals for this place about serving good goan food.
Kingfish Rawa Fry(surmai) - Delicious. Thin slices of the fish. Less quantity for the price we pay for this dish.
Prawns Rawa Fry - Delicious. Big Prawns.
Chicken Barbeque - Barbeque sauce poured all over the chicken chicken pieces which had a crispy coating. Nice taste.
Steamed rice with Prawns Curry/Fish Curry (fish of your choice- We had kingfish a.k.a. surmai) - Goan Prawns Curry. Heavenly. Delicious curry.
Service not slow at all. Very courteous staff. Specially the manager. 😊
Ambience can be improved. This will invite a crowd which might be willing to pay more.
Decent rates as well.
Wish "Laxmi" all the best for the coming season. Hope you keep serving fantastically such brilliant food forever! Cheers! 😀☺🍻
I will add photos tomorrow. 😉
Goa is known for sea food and this place is no different. We are vegetarian but to our surprise, they served very tasty veg food. We had Dal Tadka and Paneer veg, and both the dishes were delicious. Place is little small and shady (just like a typical Goan restaurant) and crowdy ..but worth a 'stop by' restaurant.
On way to Arambol from Morjim earlier this month; we hit this small shack right at the time when we were very hungry and looking for a good Goan Food.
The place was simple as you would expect from a local small shack/restaurant but had ample space. The aroma of the food especially seafood kind of pulled us to the restaurant.
To start with we had Red Snapper & Kingfish; both pan fried with garlic butter. The Red Snapper I must say was just awesome. Kingfish was good as well. All these went in with Beer or Coke. For the main course we had Fish Curry with White Rice. The taste of the fish curry was heavenly and went well with White Rice. With this we also devoured Prawns Xacuti. Who said you did not get enough good fish in June in Goa??!!
The service could have been faster but that was over-shadowed by the tasty food.

Just 2 of us, me and my wife had a blast there.
Had Crab sukkha for 500
Squid batter fry for 300
King prawn butter garlic 500
King fish 220
Rice 80
Kingfisher ultra 5 pints for 600.
Paid 2200 and a little tip for the smiling courteous waiter. Everything tasted great.
The owner was responsive on call also.
Laxmi restaurant is excellent in morjim. This is near to beach with lots of varieties of food available at very affordable rate.
Crab and fish tandoori is awesome and must try option available here. Fish Thali is delicious and perfect for lunch, which you should try once.
Staffs are well mannered and professional. One of the Staff named Chandu is soft spoken and friendly in nature who take care of your all needs very nicely
Overall my experience was amazing and I would strongly recommend this restaurant if you are visiting to Morjim.
Very delicious food.
Plenty of thali options.
Try their urak.
Reasonable rates .
We reached our hotel and checked in aroundunch time. This restaurant is simple situated on a junction very close to my hotel so decided to grab some quick lunch.
Food was really very good and prices were very reasonable.
Punjabi food and Chinese are really good. Nice experience
Best place for food in Goa. Service is excellent 👌. We had Crabs and Prawns and they tasted much better than any other local restaurant we had tried before. The prawns we're a little spicy but not a problem. The place looks a bit empty on the outside, however the service is top tier and the food is the best you'll find in Goa.
I ate my first lobster in this place. Very friendly staff and decently priced. Interior is not what people come here for, it’s rather the food quality. Drinks are also nicely priced. A bit noisy due to roadside location. Service is nice.
I enjoy Laxmi very much. It’s an easy going place and is great value for money. Chandu the head waiter is super friendly and charming. Laxmi has parking which is a real bonus.
Amazing food. Tried their chicken caferal and sukhha crab. Best food joint in North goa. Mind you I also tried the infamous tomatos and Souza lobo. Laxmi family restaurant is better in comparison of taste and budget. I would totally recommend it.
Best place to have Goan food which is extremely good, tasty and reasonable. The goan prawn curry or fish curry with rice are obviously most recommended. You should also try the fish rawa fry and prawns rawa fry/prawns in Goan Recheado masala. It is just amazing. Every dish we ordered was fresh and cooked to perfection. The place definitely gets super crowded during lunch but it is totally worth visiting. Do visit this place when in North Goa.
Definitely recommend. Have the best food and the best wait staff. Sea food was fresh and served with care. Prawn momos were made to order.
Amazing food. Fresh fish served.
Crabs, fish, chicken... everything was super tast. Would like to visit again.
The food is very good. We ate kingfish thali and it was yumm. Recommended place for thali lovers.
Decent food and pricing. Service was excellent by the staff and a must try place.
We had an amazing time in this place, food is really good and staff is very pleasant. Authentic goan food plus so many varieties of seafood at reasonable rate. Good place to go for lunch or dinner if you’re in north goa.
Nothing fancy about this restaurant but both the food and the service are great. Personal favorite is the paneer tikka masala 😀
From food to service everything was amazing, all very clean and fast service. Chandu was very gentle and smiling and polite very professional guy
Nice food...with good staff...get fast service but price is also in budget ...we visited almost everday when in morjim
Along with yummy food everything is very moderately priced. And to be honest this is a such kind of place where you can get quality food in a really cheap food. The place is bit open so you can admire the buzzing road sitting there. And I'll recommend to have the fish Xacuti here which is just the best.
