My second visit to Sahara Star and everytime I go there, the hospitality and the experience just gets better. My previous visit was at Mabruk and this time around at Manuhaar. Relatively new at Sahara Star, this restaurant provides a perfect melange of the Gujarat and Marwad delicacies served in a single thali. Have had thalis at a lot of places but I would personally rate Manuhaar as one of the best I have tried till date.
Located at Level 00, Manuhaar is located right besides EAST. Warm welcome as soon as I entered Sahara Star where I was escorted to the restaurant. The ambience of the restaurant is lovely, black chequered flooring. One of the glass shelves displaying puppets from Rajasthan. Carefully chosen show pieces placed on one side of the walls and some beautiful paintings on the other side.
Coming straight to the Thali menu they had for the day -
Welcome Drink - Chaas, served in a Kulhad. Next served on the table was a Salad and Papad platter.
Sweets were served on table - Kalakand, Shrikhand and Dahi Wada. Kalakand and Shrikhand was to die for, stunning.
Next as Farsan - We were served Mutter Ghugra, White Dhokla and Khandvi. Personal favorites for me - both dhokla and Khandvi.
Moving to the Rajasthani signature dish - Dal Baati Churma, Baati dipped in ghee, poured some Daal on top and Churma given on the side in the main dish.
Now turn of the mains, 5 vegetables. Care was taken to include all different types so as to cater to everyone's tastes and preferences - Paneer Shimla Mirchi, Panchkuti (5 Mix Vegetable), Corn Palak, Gatte ki Subzi and Aloo Jeera. I loved vegetables but my personal favorites were Gatte ki Subzi, Paneer Shimla Mirchi and Aloo Jeera. Simply outstanding.
The rotis included Phulka Roti (fluffy soft ones), Missi Roti and Puri, so again choose as you may like. We were also served the Yellow Dal Tadka and Gujarati Kadhi. I personally am a big fan of the sweet Kadhi, we make it at home as well. It's quite different from the regular yellow kadhi which non Gujarati people are used to having. Would recommend all to come down to this place and try the Kadhi.
Finally as rice options, they have steamed rice and masala khichdi. To end the meal on a sweet note, you are also served Moong Dal Dry Fruit Halwa loaded with ghee.
The thalis here as well as the glasses have golden finishing touch and it gives a very royal feel when you are seated at the table and about to begin your meal. Thalis are priced at 1750+ per person. The staff is extremely courteous and professional. A special mention for chef Parmeshwar from Rajasthan who had prepared a delightful meal for us. Fantastic meal, fabulous hospitality and wonderful experience to sum my visit to Manuhaar. Fingers crossed and hoping to come back soon to Sahara Star!
The other day we were in the mood to have thali and visited Manuhaar in the popular Sahara Star Hotel in Mumbai. And we were in for a treat ! What a royal thali and experience!!
Love the ambience of the restaurant! When I reached my table I found these huge platters/thalis waiting for us which were these golden thalis with bowls and kulhad!

Welcome drink was the chaas which was perfect as it was a hot day !
There were so many items on the thali menu ! Dhokla, tikki, pyaaz ki Kachori , Dal baati choorma, dahi vada to name a few !
The mains were paneer masala, kaju matar Sabji , Aloo sabji, torai simla mirch sabji ,gatta sabji , Kadhi and dal ( 😅) the breads were fulka, Rotla and puris ! With or without ghee !! Plain rice , Pulao, chaas, loads of condiments ( including garlic chutney ) ! Desserts were rasgolla, moong dal halwa and shreekhand !!
Everything was good and tasted fresh and delicious!
Food 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The servers knew just the right moment to come and ask us for seconds ! Though we were stuffed !! Loved the hospitality!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Manuhaar

If you're fond or planning to grab some authetic Rajasthani meal, Manuhaar is where you should head to !
Situated in the gorgeous Sahara Star Hotel, this restaurant had to be done so elegantly. Giant golden heavy thalis with glasses and a kulhad give you the vibe of the place.
The staff is absolutely kind and warmly welcomes you with sheer good hospitality.

Manuhaar
I went a few days ago to Manuhaar restaurant which is located in famous Sahara Star hotel which is very near to domestic airport and approximately 2 Kms away from Vile Parle station. I am happy to know that they have introduced a new place for thali lovers.
Manuhaar serves thali full of love which was like the best thing, there were so many varieties I just couldn’t stop myself from eating everything. The food was super delicious and it was really well served, the staff was properly trained and mannered, we had really a great experience.
There is so much variety in the food. I can go on and on. Let’s touch the highlights.
The thali comprised of following delicacies.
Drinks:
• Rose Sharbat: Exceptional and refreshing drink to beat the heat.
• Chaas: Masala chaas is the perfect way to digest your food.
Farsan:
• White Dhokla: Tasted really good. So fluffy and soft.
• Kalmi Vada: Traditional Rajasthani delicacy & has a perfect texture and taste.
• Dahi Wada: Yummy and one of the best things here. Do try.
Vegetables: All the vegetables they’ve served gives a wide range of flavors to the palate. My favorite Gatte Ki Sabji and Sev Tamatar
• Paneer Nagori
• Jeera Aloo
• Sev Tamatar
• Mutter Muthiya
• Gatte ki Sabji
Dal/ Kadhi:
• Dal Baati Churma: A Rajasthani meal is incomplete without Dal Baati Churma. They have normal baati and masala baati which had green peas stuffing inside baati. Served with spicy moong dal and churma.
• Yellow Dal Tadka: It was not that sweet just perfect.
• Gujrati Kadhi: It tasted awesome with steamed rice. Must Try.
Roti:
• Puri/ Fulka/Bajre Ka Rotla
Rice:
• Moong Dal Khichadi
• Steamed Rice
Sweets: Don’t miss the desserts. Amazing!!!!
• Shrikhand
• Badam Barfi
• Moong Dal Halwa
You could see the popularity of the place as there was constant queue outside. Though food was delicious, I still would like to add two points. First, thali for INR 1750 per person but it’s completely worth if you see the place, ambience and food quality. Second, they should have “Paan” (betel leaf with other ingredients as a complimentary item)
Overall, I had a great time. The chef and staff given us memorable experience. I will surely recommend this place to everyone.
Food: 5/5
Décor: 5/5
Service: 5/5
VFM: 5/5
P.S: The review is strictly depending on my personal experience.
Located near the domestic airport in Vile Parle, Hotel Sahara Star hosts many specialty restaurants under its roof, and Manuhaar - The Vegetarian Thali Restaurant is certainly one of them. Manuhaar specializes in serving an all-vegetarian thali which is the perfect mélange of cuisines inspired by the two slates – Gujarat and Rajasthan. A tribute to the rustic simplicity of the cuisines of the two slates, the thali is an extraordinary spread comprising of the best vegetarian delicacies and is the best way that one can enjoy and experience a scrumptious Indian meal.
The interiors reflect the subtle taste of cultural authenticity, while also a gourmand’s delight and a place to satiate your cravings with some authentic, soulful food. From handpicked antiques to brass artifacts to classy wooden décor, to the cozy leather couches and traditional hand paintings adorning the walls, Manuhaar certainly felt very warm and welcoming.
Well, the service is no exception here. A special mention of Mr. Raj who was friendly, kind, polite and very courteous. He ensured that our meal was going good and had a good knowledge of the dishes on the menu. He also came every now and then to check in case we needed anything. Great job!
The unlimited thali is priced at Rs. 1550 and is certainly a go-to place for foodies who’d like to experience the very best of the cuisines from Gujarat and Rajasthan. Trust me, it certainly is a delight for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike! So, here’s the brief of our meal:
We started off with a welcome drink of Khus Sharbat which is a sweet, earthy taste. It certainly tickles your taste buds and is uber refreshing. Next, we were treated to Chaas (buttermilk) which paired perfectly with the dishes on the menu.
From the farzan section, we had the Khaman Dhokla, Corn Paneer Tikki and Pyaz Kachori, all of which were extremely delicious. The Khaman Dhokla had savory, sweet and spicy flavors, with a soft and spongy texture. The corn Paneer Tikki and the Pyaz Kachori were delicious too!
The thali comprised of 3 types of Dal/Kadhi varieties – Dal Bhati Churma, Yellow Dal Tadka and Rajasthani Kadhi, all of which were very different and unique in taste, texture and flavours. Well, the Dal Bhati Churma is to die for and was our all-time favourite! Pro Tip – Add a bit of the garlic chutney for a tad bit of spiciness and flavour and the churma for a bit of sweetness.
The vegetable gravies that were part of our thali were Paneer Nagori, Undhiyu, Papad Mangodi, Kaju Karela and Gatte Ki Subzi. We paired this with jeera matter pulao, steamed rice (you can add some ghee for extra flavour), puri, phulka and missi roti. Well, though each of the vegetable preparations were made with love and had simple and authentic flavours, our favourites were the Undhiyu and Gatte ki subzi. Well, we were certainly spoilt for choice with all the variety!
To end our meal on a sweet note, we had Shrikhand, Kalakhand and Akhrot Halwa (Walnut Halwa). While the shrikhand was silky smooth, creamy and topped with dry fruits, the Kalakhand was a sweet and delicious milk cake/barfi which just melted in the mouth, both of which tasted absolutely divine. However, our FAVOURITE was the Akhrot Halwa which was prepared in desi ghee and had a generous amount of nuts, adding to the taste and texture. It was sinful!
On the whole, we totally enjoyed every bit of the thali and the meal certainly holds a special place in our hearts. A must visit to experience the very best of Gujarati and Rajasthani cuisines in one meal!
Manuhaar is one of the finest restaurants which is located in sahara star .they are known for thier gujrati and Rajasthani cuisine .the restaurant is quite nice with some great ambience and bright lightings.the staff here is quitw friendly and also explained us the dishes and how its made .now coming to the food which was the best part.we startwd our meal kairi panna sharbat followed by sonw farsan like khaman dhokla ,patra & paneer papad roll .the paneer papad roll here was one of my favorite dishes as it it had crispy coting and the paneer was soft inside .After having some amazing farsan we moved to our maincource which consisted of 5 sabji like gatte ki sabji, kaju mutter, allu til, paneer hari methi, turai shimla mirch with puri &phulka .the paneer hari methi and gatte ki sabji were damn good .After that we had some moong dal khichdi &dal bati churma. After that we ended our meal with some sweets like malpua, kalakand & shrikhand.overall it was a amazing experience and would def Suggest you to give it a try.

our thali consisted of following things.
Phulka, puri, farsan, sabzi, dal, salad, rice, khichdi, lassi, sharbat, papad, sweets, dahi vada, dal batti. The best part was that most of the dishes served were jain and we could not recognize at once. Every dish served was authentic to it's taste. none of the dish missed on the taste and flavours. They keep changing some or the other dish from the menu for thali. The star dish here was the daal baati. exceptionally well made. we just loved it. enjoy it with their garlic chutney and onions.
overall an amazing experience dining here. From food to service to hospitality everything was top-notch. The staff was friendly and courteous.

They serve pure vegetarian and mainly Gujarati and Rajasthani cuisine. They have dining tables for large groups of people, an entire family itself.
They have a menu that is different for every day, while two dishes remain constant on their menu and that is Dal Bhati Churma and Gatte ka Kadhi. These two are their signatures and they both are absolutely amazing.
They serve two types of Bhati one is simple, and the other is stuffed Bhati which is already dipped in Ghee. The Dal is served with more ghee. So this small dish itself will fill you up real quick.
The staff is very courteous, soft spoken and friendly. The service is quick and neatly done.
They first serve Beverages which include Kokum Juice and Chaas. The other savouries on their Thali includes Sweet Dal, Dahi Kadhi, Aloo Matar, Karele ki sabzi, Paneer ki sabzi, Dhokla, Khandvi, Mini Samosa, Dahi Wada. You must visit this place if you are a fan of marwadi cuisine. I have shared a picture of the menu which states all the items served on this thali. Initially I thought the portion sizes were small but I found them to be super filling in the end. My friends couldn't finish their's but I was determined to finish all of it and so I did.😎 I also had 1 extra phulka, 2 additional pieces of khandvi and another glassful of chaas. 😋
Truly quite an experience to dine at a 5 star restaurant. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Price: 1750/- per thali 💲
I was told some of the items on the menu may change during lunch hours.
PS: I don't recommend anyone to overeat because by the end of the day my body didn't take it very well.

Looking for one of the best lux place in Mumbai for trying some desi food?,
Manuhaar is the answer...
This place serves one of the best best best Gujrati and Marwadi thali!
To start with the ambiance has been so so beautifully done with the pictures and artifacts depicting the traditional culture of Marwad! And the plates and bowls which they use which is made of copper gives you that authentic Gujrati feeling!
So we ordered 2 Thalis for me n my girlfriend. The prices are quite costlier here considering the ambiance and brand
For sweets, they had Gond Pak which was so goood! And also kesar shrikhand which was very fresh! We soo loved it! And the last sweet was my fav.. Gajar ka Halwa, served hot with lot of dryfruits added to it! This gajar ka halwa was such a good treat!

So we started with our thali and it was a big task to eat all the items..but the challenge was on. They served us the kalakhatta sharbat and chaas which is a must when you eat gujrati food. They have different menu for lunch and dinner everyday. Only the daal churma remains the same. Food quality and taste was really amazing and gave me feeling like I am having food at home. They served phudina and coriander chutney and also tamrind chutney to try with farsans. Also they served udad and rice papad along.
For Vegetable they had 5 things. Like woww! They have Paneer Hara Methi - soft and tender paneer tossed with methi. So yum! Second sabzi was Turai Patra. Cooked with a perfect gujrati touch, amazing! Third vegetable was Papad Mangodi - this was definitely a star for me! Loved it!! Fourth was Aloo Mutter - Normal Aloo and Mutter sabzi with an amazing gravy! So tasty! Manuhaar is the Rajasthani and Gujarati themed restaurant within the very beautiful Sahara Star. The place is done up with paintings depicting the Rajasthani and the Gujarati culture. The staff is oh-so polite and truly exude the mehmaan nawaazi that the Rajasthanis and the Gujaratis are known for.
I had their Gujarati thaali that has like, a million items! They first serve chaas and a sweet drink, along with sweet items like halwa, true to Gujarati sweets-first style! Then comes dhokla, mini samosas, daal bati churma and and many more. I was already feeling a bit full when they loaded my thaali with rotis, a lot of sabzis, daal, a bit of khichdi.
There were a bowl full if khichiya papad, salad, ghee, achaars and so many condiments. I was so full that I couldn't even look at them anymore. And the staff kept asking if we needed anything else. They really made me feel like I came to some relative's place where they just wouldn't stop feeding more food! That's the kind of homely hospitality that makes Manuhaar stand out from the rest!
I absolutely enjoyed each and every item on the thaali, and couldn't find any negative anywhere. The chef came to meet me during my dinner and he was so humble in his demeanor.
Overall, it was an absolutely fantastic experience, and to think that the thaali is priced at Rs 1550, I think it is a steal deal.

Authentic Gujarati Marwadi Thali at One of the most elegant place in Mumbai..!
Went to this place for a dinner with mom, she being born and brought up in Gujarat knows all the authentic preparations and taste and she really enjoyed the food at this place. This means it was really delicious and authentic food.
Ambience at this place is so calm and mesmerizing.! Glass walled kitchen through where you can see the level of hygiene that is maintained.! On the entry walls they have placed glass racks with all antique pieces placed which really seeks our attention. Seating arrangement is so royal and comfortable. Food was served in a heavy plate and bowls made from mixed metals which resembles those used by ancient kings in Gujarat and Rajasthan.
Service and Staff! First of all I would like to mention, we really loved the heart warming welcome by Ms. Salonee. She gave a very good & brief overview about the concept of restaurant. They do have a best in industry staff and unbeatable service. Everything was served piping hot and in very timely manner. A big thumbs up to the entire team, for making our dining experience a memorable one.
Authentic Gujarati/Marwadi food, This thali is no less than any feast at royal Gujarati/Marwadi wedding. Yeah, just imagine the unlimited meal which has 5 different kinds of vegetable sides, 3 different types of farsan and breads, 2 welcome drinks, 2 sweets and a lot more..! I would say it is worth the price and definitely a must try. Their Menu keeps changing daily with different varieties of authentic Gujarati and Marwadi dishes. Everything is served piping hot and freshly prepared. Believe it or not even the puris are fried as and when asked for.! This I believe is unmatchable service that we get only at Sahara Star.
Just to mention, their varieties when I visited the place for dinner.
Welcome drinks - kalakattha, Butter milk.
Vegetable sides - Paneer Nagoi, chole masala, gatta nu shak, kaju karela, fansi gatta.
Farsan - Khaman, Mutter Samosa, paneer papad sticks and dahivada
Marwadi special - Dal bati with plain and masala bati along with Churma. Along with this special Garlic chutney was served which really enhanced the taste.
Curries - Dal tadka and Gujarati special Kadhi.
Rice preparation - steam basmati rice and Gujarati special Khichdi.
Sweets - Rasmalai and Dry fruit halwa.
Sides - green salad, khichya papad, fried papad and different types of dips and pickles.
Everything was having authentic taste and was really very satisfying. So many flavours in one meal. It was really very heavy meal but still couldn't stop my self from eating all of it. I really found it worth every penny.
Overall a very good and elegant place that serves ultra delicious Gujarati Marwadi Cuisine in a form of unlimited thali. Also, if you are going in big groups and you want some delicacies of your choice then you can request that in advance and the team at Manuhaar will definitely consider it.
We really had a great dinning experience at this place and definitely recommend it to all the people who are big fan of authentic Gujarati Cuisine. Cheers to team Manuhaar for making our dinning experience a royal and amazing one.

Coming to the food..Its menu keeps on changing keeping the main items like dal baati churma, Rajasthani kadhi constant.
Its thali wad huge and contained dhokla, paneer roll, matar kachori, gatte ki sabzi, Rajasthani kadhi, paneer capsicum, bhindi ki sabzi, masala chole, sev tamatar, dahi vada, malpua, srikhand, chaas, kokum ka sharbat, phulka, puri and roti.
each and every item was cooked to perfection. had these items for the first time and it was worth trying.
Its chole masala and Rajasthani kadhi has definitely become my favorite. the kadhi had the flavor of dahi which just gave it perfect tanginess. also its deseert items were made in shudh ghee and it was too good for the taste buds.
it was an amazing spread with best of both the delicacies.
its thali is worth the price
Totally recommend this place..
Best Gujarati Thali in the most elegant ambience in Mumbai?
This is the place to be.. the decor, the staff, the service, open kitchen, fresh food and just about everything at this place is super spectacular!
Although, it is unlimited Thali, there is so much that you practically will repeat just very few items because the food is too much and too good!
Variety of flavours is the best about it👌
Everyday there is a different menu and also different menu daily for lunch and dinner. Dal Bati, churma, shrikhand remains consistent however.

Phew.. this place is worth a visit for sure, take the experience!
The ultimate place for a vegetarian thali experience. The experience is truly majestic. Extremely courteous staff, beautiful decor, authentic thali crafted by local chefs and all of this located within the magnificent Sahara Star. One can't really ask for more.
The price was a shocker for me as it was so reasonable. Slightly more expensive than the usual maharaja bhog and rajdhani, but that's obvious since its Sahara Star. The price difference though is very less for food which is fresh, authentic and soda free to a great extent.
You can truly enjoy an unlimited experience here as the food isn't loaded with Soda compared to all the other chains.
A must visit for every vegetarian for sure. It's a perfect family experience in my opinion. Large families would enjoy this for sure over a gathering and even over a normal visit.
Manuhaar for me is a winner and I for sure would frequent this place.
Big thumbs up!!
It's a Gujarati and Rajasthani mixed thali restaurant. A Vegetarian 5star restaurant to be specific. It's located at the basement level of one the most exquisite hotels in Mumbai, the Sahara Star. The menu is nothing new or different from the other Rajasthani thali restaurant chains we have in shopping malls or other food courts. But what sticks out is the taste, the quality, the authentic flavours and ofcourse the service. I was served by Deepak ji and the waywardnes with which he and his team served was just unparallel. In the end, very generously he even got us a cake on the house for my Aai's birthday. Thank you people at manuhaar. We had a great time
Great food
Amazing people
Restaurant is Located at the lower floor in Sahara Star hotel. Soothing Ambience. Good vegetarian Gujarati Rajasthani food. Trained and Courteous Staff.
Manuhaar is an exceptional restaurant in Sahara Star specialising in authentic Gujarati & Rajasthani cuisine.
We savoured this luxurious & royal Thali for dinner recently & cannot stop raving about it since then. We were served Kairi Panna & Chaas as welcome drinks, both were refreshing & a great accompaniment to our humungous meal. Some of the dishes we thoroughly enjoyed in the Thali were White Dhokla, Malpua, Gatte Ki Sabzi, Dal Batti Churma, Moong Dal Khichdi & a lot more.
Also, they provide impeccable service.
Whether a vegetarian or not, this Thali is unmissable!
Greetings!!!

Finest place for authentic gujrati and rajasthani food. Must try a thali which includes so many delicious delicacies. Khichda is must try. Dal bati is tasty. Chaach is mandatory with food. Quality food. Great levels of hygiene. Polite and Friendly staff. Perfect for group dinner.
Finally I made to Manuhaar which was long pending in my wishlist among the restaurants from Mumbai. Nestled in a luxurious Hotel Sahara Star, Manuhaar is known for some delicious Rajasthani and Gujrathi food. The interiors are very elegantly designed with spacious seating arrangements ,the copper Thali and bowls makes the experience further more exclusive. The hospitality was at the best, attentive and prompt service by the crew was impressive. So as we settled down, we were presented with Khus Sharbat a welcome drink at this place.Eventually our Thalis started filling up with the delicious varieties like Dal Bati churma, bhajiyas, kachori and many more, it looked so irresistible and tasted equally good.I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for luxurious dining experience.
Don't think anyone can rate this place less than 5; absolutely spectacular food, presentation, taste and ambiance!!
Manuhaar has the perfect Gujarati thaali; must experience for all thaali lovers in Mumbai.
You are welcomed into the restaurant warmly and then the real experience begins. Each and every dish is described properly and served slowly, unlike most other thaali restaurants where everything is served a little too fast.
Take time to enjoy and relish the food here!! While the menu keeps on changing, it typically covers Indian snacks, sabzi, daal, rice, poori, dal khichdi, rotla, daal baati churma, sweets and of course, chaas. Every single dish is top notch in terms of flavors; even something as simple as gawar sabzi was out of the world! Kudos to the Manuhaar team for the best standards maintained.
Manuhar is located inside Sahara Star and they specialize in Gujarati and Rajasthani food. Grand decor representing the gujarati culture and very warm, courteous and welcoming staff. They specialise in thali. The menu changes everyday. It contains 5 sabzis, 3 sweets, 4 farsan, dal, kadhi, Indian breads and other accompaniments.
Our platter had the following:
Drinks:
Buttermilk (don't have a count of how many glasses I had. Was so yum)
Rose Sherbet
Farsan:
Mirchi bhajiya
Fresh Vatana Kachori
Dahi Wada
White Dhokla
Amongst all of these my most favourite was their fresh vatana kachori and dahi wada. Kachori was stuffed with fresh mutter filling and was so flaky from inside. Not very oily with a good amount of stuffing. Dahi wadas were just melt in mouth. Soft wadas topped with chilled dahi and tikha mitha chutnies. Was so good.
Sabzi:
Paneer Sabzi
Gatta nu shak
Vatana Muthiya (loved this one. Made using fresh methi muthiya)
Green Panchmel Sabzi
Baigan Bharta
Pulav, Khichadi, Dal Tadka and Sweet Kadhi
Breads:
Chapati, Paratha, Puri
Sweets:
Kaju Katli, Shrikhand, Akhrot Halwa
Rajasthani speciality:
Dal Batti, Churma
Other accompaniments:
Salad, Chutnies, pickles, Khichiya Papad, Fried papad.
Finished it with Paan
Must say we had such a wonderful time. After eating so much, we didn't feel it heavy on stomach which clearly shows the level of quality of the ingredients used. The staff was welcoming and made sure we were comfortable. They made sure we have eaten enough and forced us to try more n more. What amazing hospitality!!
An experience to remember. A must visit !!
All the best to your team :)
Manuhaar - Keeping the tradition alive at the 5 star property - Hotel Sahara Star - One of the fine dining thali restaurant serving variety of delicacies of Gujarat and Rajasthan.
I simply loved the flooring (black and white tiles), the entire wall theme, spacious and comfy seating. The ambience is just stunning and classy perfect for family and friends dinner/lunch.
The professional staff here makes you feel very comfortable explain about the dishes and immediately gets the welcome drink, salad, khichiya papad, pickle tray etc.
Started off with savouries (farsan) - Mirchi Vada, Mutter Pattice, White dhokla all were just fantastic.
Next I enjoyed the lip-smacking dahi vadas.
The menu keeps on changing everyday. They have kept an array of delicious Gujarati and Rajasthani food just like homely cooked. One doesn't feel bloated after having such an exotic meal.
Daal baati, turai, paneer, khicadi kadhi was just mind-blowing, they made everything in-house including shrikhand and all other dessert. Enjoy this extravagant meal fairly priced at the lovely property of Hotel Sahara Star.
Authentic food. In all tradition love to enjoy here. And awesome ambience to go for and ofcourse to hv food in five star it feel like u are king..
A visit to this place needs no appeasement or persuasion.
Manuhaar, the Thali restaurant situated in the Hotel Sahar Star, is a place which needs no persuasion or appeasement from anyone to visit again and again once you have relished the perfect melange of the Gujarati and Marwari cuisine served with love in a single Thali.
The ambience of this tastefully decorated restaurant showcases the culture of these states where hospitality flows in the blood.
The food served is all vegetarian in a Thali which comprises of an array of Guajarati and Marwadi dishes and delicacies, starting with the welcome drink, sweets, farsan, vegetables, dal and kadhi, roti and rice.
The food served is almost close to home-style, what you get in a Guajarati or Marwadi household and the serving staff projects the courteousness, which is typical of the hospitality of the area that this restaurant projects.
The menu is changed on a daily basis but some of the more popular specialities are retained for every day. The thali is served for lunch as well as dinner.
The thali is priced quite reasonably for a fine dining restaurant in a deluxe five star hotel. To add to the delight, there’s a monsoon offer presently going on with substantial discount on the menu price.
I went for a dinner on a Thursday and had a delightful dining experience with this menu:
The welcome drink comprises the cool and refreshing Khus Sharbat and the delightful chaas which you can keep refilling and sipping on throughout your meal.
Along with the sweet, a piece of Tiranga Barfi, the farsan was a combination of Mutter Ghughra, crispy and fresh, the Patra and the Aloo Vada. These dishes go well with a melange of chutney and aachaar they serve alongside.
The vegetables were a combination of Paneer Mewadi with soft cottage cheese pieces in a thick gravy, the quite popular tangy Aloo Mutter Tamatar, the Turai Shimla, a mixture of ridge gourd and capsicum, Fansi Dhokli and the all-time favourite and popular Gatte ki Subzi.
The Dal Bati Churma was the best of the lot, with two options, plain and stuffed, while you can taste the crunchy Khichiya and Moong Dal Papad that they keep refilling.
The roti platter had Poori, Phulka as well as Jowari Rotla while they had both Moong Dal Khichdi and Steamed rice in the rice variants, all of which could be relished with Yello Dal Tadka and the Gujarati Kadhi.
The full course meal could be wound up with the sweet delight of Shrikhand and Moong Dal Halwa, both of which was perfectly sweet and balanced.
The name Manuhaar, which means persuasion or appeasement in English, may perhaps be a misnomer.
The food was amazing ... the service by Mr Jigar was outstanding food is out of the world best hospitality and service .
They serve food with love
Good Rajasthani and Gujarati thali... Aamras and curry was amazing. Was slightly disappointed in dal batti - can improve. Overall courteous staff and good location. Should visit once. Obviously expensive.. try apps which gives some discounts.
Ghee laden food is always my favourite. From the khichidi to the rotla, from the baati to the paneer, every item had a generous serving of pure ghee. It only heightened the flavour and the overall flavour of each item. Apart from rice and khichi the sabzis are served with roti, puri and chapati too. Two dry vegetables are served with two gravy ones along with daal. Dhokla, khandvi, pickles, salad and even the option of some Jaggery with the rotis, I have never enjoyed vegetarian food as much as this meal.
If you’re a vegetarian residing in Mumbai, you have to try some Gujarati thalis that will definitely blow your mind
.
With tantalizing scents of these preparations along with sinful taste of their authentic gujrati and marwari food items, this place proves to the best if you’re looking out for Gujarati thalis in Mumbai.
The menu keeps changing daily and you can have unlimited food with an extravagant and royal dining experience.
The staff are at the toes serving you and all the dishes are extremely authentic and full of flavours.
For drinks they had chaas and aam kairi panna and for desserts we got to try malai barfi and aam ka ras.
This was one royal treat which I will always cherish
Cost- 1550/-*

AMAZING EXPERIENCE.
Been here twice. (food review is at the end)
First of, let me start with the interiors and ambiance - its an authentic rajasthan and gujrati styled interior. They have placed cute rajasthani puppets and antiques. The staff also wears a uniform according to the theme. The combination of authenticity is royalty is just mind blowing. There's a kitchen which is basically a see through. Warm and comforting experience. The staff is extremely polite. Also there's a tiny detail I'd like to share, i loveeee the paintings and the little lamps. I love the cutlery too, the glasses used resemble matkas. And the thaali is goldenish, gives the rajasthani feels.
Location - it is located within the 5 star hotel sahara star. Its on the ground floor that is "00". The staff will help you locate it as there are many other restaurants too.
Prices: The prices are bit too high but worth it as you're not only experiencing amazing food but a 5 star experience . A perfect place to hangout with your FAMILY. Your parents will for sure be happy.
Foooood - okay so lemme just tell you that they serve thaali with unlimited food. Everyday the menu changes. I went there twice and ate a completely different thaali. They offer 2 drinks, alot of farsans(snacks) and 2-3sweets , amras is just mouthwatering for all those mango lovers. They serve a variety of bhajis and and 1-2 daal. Buttermilk and daal baati is fixed..and do not skip that. They serve papad at the beginning which are too unlimited along with salad. Roti too is fixed and they might add a variety of other bread too such as naan or puranpoli, but the roti is fixed. Do not miss out on gulab jaamun at the end of the meal which is sooooooo yummy 😋. Although its unlimited, you cannot order an item twice because the thaali is too heavy for you. If you do order an item twice, make sure you have a little space left for the tasty gulab jaamun in the end. For all the JAINS out there, not to worry, they serve jain food too if you ask them they are extremely cooperative.
Crowd-Its not too crowded. Its the perfect amount of crowd according to me.
You can also stroll for a while after leaving the restaurant and sit at the open bar and restaurant near the mini pond.
Night time is the best time. The dinner is heavy and not too crowded. Soothing and you can sleep well after some good food.
Place and ambience is too good. Food was also good as per taste should be at star hotel. Most importantly it's pure veg.. With folk cuisine. Getting pure veg at star hotels are difficult n above that taste we have too compromised but here I was totally satisfied.
A really good place to have Gujarati and Rajasthani Thali. We visited this place for dinner and had a memorable experience. The place is located in Sahara Star. The place has a really classic ambience with a nice paintings on the walls. The thali was really delicious. Overall a great experience hope to visit again.
I was here few months ago, found Thali to be pretty average with lots of varieties. Service was good. I don’t think I a small eater, i don’t think I wanna go for this again.
Of course when it’s Sahara Star, ambiance has to be great. I totally love this hotel.
"Manauhar", this lovely place is located in Sahara Star. It is located nearly 10 minute away from Vile Parle station. The place is a pure bliss for thali lovers.
They are known for their 'Gujarati' and 'Marwadi' cuisine. The place is located in the ground floor of Sahara Star. The ambience is damn fascinating, giving the authentic interior look, live kitchen and the drawing on walls with puppets and antiques is why this place is exceptional. The staff is really friendly and helpful. They serve fresh food and the menu varies from day to day.
Coming to the food the thali consists of:-
Enjoy Drinks:
• Chaas.
• Khus Sharbat.

• Moong Dal Vada.

Started with welcome drinks - Rose sharbat and Chass. Both refreshing.
Fried papads, salads, pickles along with chutneys were served.
Started off with farsans - Khaman Dhokla ( soft and tasty ), Paneer papdi roll (tender paneer fried with coating of papad , must have!! ) And Moong dal kachori ( it was good ).
For sweets we had - Aamras ( The gujju in me got really happy to see ras as the season is here! ) , Rasmalai ( amazing ) , Gulab jamun ( something you can't miss ).
Dal/Kadhi - Dal Bati churma ( A must have in a thali. They serve stuffed bati and plain bati , amazing ) , Dal Tadka ( usual ) , Rajasthani kadhi ( Gujrati kadhi is white and sweet, Rajasthani is yellowish and sour ).
Dahi wada - Wada with dahi topped with chutneys and chat masala. Heavenly.
Vegetables - so they serve five different vegetables viz. Paneer Jodhpuri ( paneer in yellow gravy - tangy ) , Corn palak ( good combo, loved the richness of palak which blended well with corn ) , Mutter muthiyanu shak ( Muthiya - is made of flour and methi which is essentially used in Undhiyu, with mutter and the gravy was good ) , Rajasthani panchmel ( basically gavar ki sabzi ) & Gatte ki sabzi ( A very famous Rajasthani dish, made of gram flour dumplings in curd gravy ). Vegetables were accompanied with phulkas/puris/rotlas.
Rice - we had steam rice and corn pulav.

Definitely visiting this place soon.
Manuhaar describes itself as a perfect melange of Gujarat and Marwad delicacies on a thali and we couldn't agree more. Simplicity with excellent taste surely reflects the kind of dedication that has been put in.
Things we tried:
Started off with the amazing Ras malai 😍😍 yes you heard it right. It's never too early to have a dessert.
Farsan -
*Muttar Ghugra - probably going to be repeating the word delicious way to often so let's start with this one.
*Khaman dhokla - soft and great.
*Patra - Great taste.
Mains -
*Paneer Masala - medium spicy with the greatness of cottage cheese.
*Mutter muthiya - lip smacking Rajasthani flavours.
*Bhindi Masala - well cooked okra can create magic.
*Aloo Matar - usually not a fan of this dish but I liked it.
Last and the best : Gatte ki Sabzi. It has been my favourite since forever and Manuhaar did complete justice to it.
Very few places In Mumbai serve great Rajasthani food and I'm glad Manuhaar is my go to place when I'm craving for it the next time.
*Dal bati churma , kadhi and tadka were great as well.
Concluding with one of the Best Gajar Halwas everrrrr😍🥕
I accept my stomach had absolutely no room for it but I made the overeating seem convenient due to the great taste.
There is nothing about the place you can complain about. The Chaas could have been better.
The staff is extremely polite and courteous.
Thank you Chef for an amazing experience.

Delicious food served with warmth. Loved dal bathi. Beautiful ambience. They made our anniversary more special with a surprise cake. Thanks Harsh and entire team
We had an opportunity to dine at one of the finest restaurants serving Gujurati and Rajasthani cuisine a week ago. Located on the ground floor of the famous hotel- Sahara Star, This place is an absolute gem. We went there for an early dinner and the restaurant was almost empty with few tables filled with guests. The ambience is really soothing to the eyes with various paintings and artifacts placed gracefully on the walls giving it a typical Indian feel. We were waited upon by Mr. Jigar who very well took care of all our wants and needs. The menu served was a fixed one which changes twice everyday for lunch and dinner. What we ate and drank:-
1. Kala Khatta sherbat:- This was our welcome drink and I couldnt help myself asking for more and more
Glasses of it.
2.Farsan :- White Dhokla, Mirchi Vada and Khandvi:- I really loved the farsan which was served on my plate. The dhokla went really well with the green chutney served with it and so did the mirchi vada.
3.Dal bati Churma:- The signature dish of Rajasthani cuisine, we were given a choice of plain and masala Bati, overall the dish was made to perfection.
4. In the vegetables section we tried quite a few vegetables which were:-
a.Paneer Mewadi
b.Panchkuti Subji
c.Bhindi Sambhariya
d.Aloo ki Subji
e.Gatte ki subji
Each of these had a peculiar taste associated to them and were very rich in Flavours.
We were served Puri, Phulka and missi rotis to go with the vegetables.
Also in the plate were yellow dal tadka and gujurati kadhi and plain rice and moong dal
Khuchdi toh accompany the dals.
They also serve you with a variety of papad, salad, pickles and chutneys.

First Dinner of #2019
When it comes to food, Marwari and Rajasthani cuisine surely wins the race @hotel_saharastar #manuhaar..
Best place with great ambience.. a five star category hotel.. must visit there pool side.
Manuhaar, which is located in the beautiful Sahara Star hotel is one place where you can totally experience Royalty over the most delicious food. Loved the vibrant and elegant ambience of this place with pretty, grandeur interiors. Known for their authentic Gujarati/Rajasthani Thalis, Manuhaar serves a plethora of delicious dishes in their Thali.
The Thali mainly consists of Gujarati Snacks, Veggies, Dals, Desserts, Beverages.
Relished every bit of the Banana Rolls and Onion Kachori which was a part of the Snacks menu. Post that they served us freshly cooked veggies like MixedVegetable (One of My Favourites) Aloo Mutter, Gatte ki Sabzi and Undhiyo (A delightful combination of assorted vegetables coooked upside down). DalSurti which is the famous sweet dal of Gujarati cuisine had the most delectable flavour when mixed with steam rice. We then tried the Moong Dal Khichdi with loads of ghee. What a deadly combination I should say!
In Indian breads they served Rotis, Puris and PuranPoli. Next we moved onto to desserts, they served almond barfi and Rasgulla as a part of their Thali menu. Surely cannot deny the fact that Manuhaar serves one of the yummiest and softest Rasgullas in town. Also, the Thali menu consists of refreshing beverages like Chaas and Rose Sherbet alongside crunchy papads and a varieties of pickles.
If you wish to have a rich and exquisite meal, then Manuhaar is undoubtedly the perfect place to be at. The Thali costs for Rs1450/-+ taxes and is surely worth every penny for the kind of amazing food and great service this place has to offer. A perfect place to dine over a wonderful meal with family and friends. Can’t wait to be back to experience their warm hospitality over the most lip-smacking food.
When it comes to hospitality, no one can beat Sahara Star, a name that needs no introduction.
Recently visited their newly opened restaurant Manuhaar that is a perfect melange of Rajashtani and Gujarat delicacies served in a single thali. The whole thali is inspired by the culture and heritage of these 2 states. The royalty and opulence is reflected as soon as you enter this restaurant. The ambiance is created with beautiful wall paintings that depict the mixed culture of Gujarat and Rajasthan along with folk music playing in the background. The vintage brass handicrafts are displayed as decor that gives you a feel of some ancient fort. To add to the richness the food is served in brass vessels that surely makes you feel like as if you are dining in some palace.
The staff guys are very courteous, kind, cheerful and exactly know their job well. Harsh who was serving us was very friendly and knowledgeable and showed us amazing hospitality. Really Sahara Star keeps up to its name and service. We were also informed that all the chefs are from Rajasthan and Gujarat. So you can expect the best dishes from both the worlds. Also, the menu changes every day and most of the dishes served are different except for the few ones like paneer subzi and gatteki subzi. But also the paneer is cooked in different gravies at different times.
Let's get to the food
As per what we were told they serve a total of 26 dishes starting from rose sharbat that was so cooling and refreshing.
It followed by the most awesome salty Buttermilk, let me tell you I have had the best buttermilk here.
As per the tradition followed in most of the places in Rajasthan and Gujarat, here too the meal had started with a sweet, that is usually a gesture to convey that hope your experience will be as sweet with us. They had served us Ghewar that is a traditional Rajasthani sweet. Our expectations had already built up with this sweet and delicious ghewar.
The thali looked royal and delicious and we were ready to explore the gourmet delicacies of both the world.
Aso the array of chutneys and pickles that was placed on the table looked so presentable.
The most authentic dish that I was waiting to have was Dal Baati Churma and trust me my wait was worth it. They had cooked some lip-smacking dal along with ghee laden baati and the most delectable churma. I totally relished this combination as I am extremely fond of it. To be honest I have had the best churma here that was loaded with ghee, dry fruits, and kesar strands. It was indeed very rich and heavy.
For starters, they had served
Dahi wadas, Patras and Bhajiyas that were too good and tasty.
For Mains:
Paneer Subzi, Undhiyoo, Gatter ki subzi, Dahiwali bhindi, Papad mong subzi, Dal and kadhi.
All the dishes were full of flavors and were authentically made.
For bread:
Phulka roti, puris, and Jowar rotla, all of these paired well with the subzis
Rice varieties
Plain steamed rice and khichdi. Both these preparations were served piping hot and paired well with kadhi and papads. Relished it to the core.
Finally followed by Malpua that were so delicious.
The thali is unlimited and they serve with you open hearts till you are content.
Overall a phenomenal experience to dine here, it was no less than being treated like a queen, you will come back home with a heavy stomach but your heart will always crave for more.
One must surely visit this place for the warmth, hospitality, royalty and an array of Gourmet dishes. Full marks for food, ambiance, and service

Munuhaar - Exit 25 parganas , replaced by the lovely Munuhaar. (Manama / Vinanti in Hindi) This is Blend of Gujarat/Rajasthan/Saurashtra food. They serve Only Thali Priced at 1400++ worth every penny. Its Rich cause of the Ingredients used. Guess one Filling and you are sorted for the day. 2 Welcome drinks/2 sweets/3 Farsan/5 Vegetables/Dal Batti/Dal/Kadhi with steamed rice and Pulao.
Guess the menu changes each day. After a long time had some good Indian food. Was craving for it but it was rich (loaded with Ghee and flavours)
Coming to Jal jeera Sharbat - Not exactly the one which are used to having but had a bit of sweetness added to add hence the word Sharbat. Masala Chaas was made well (locals would have loved it, somewhere close to the Kutchi beer)
Farsan - Khaman Dhokla (could have been better, a bit dry) can get sticky. Improvement needed. Kachori at the same time was done well with Moong Dal stuffing. Kothambir Vadi was a tad oily but tasted good.
Vegetables - Paneer Mewadi (would have loved had the Paneer been a bit soft though the gravy compensated) had that tangy and a bit spicy taste to it, rich at the same time.
Mutter Muthiya - loved the taste, subtle and home food. Balance of spices was just apt for the dish.
Gawar Ki Sabzi - wow, this was home food. Loved the texture taste and the balance of spices. No rocket science at the same time it was made well.
Veg Palak Saag - I did not try but my partner said it was lovely. Going by her word.
Gatte Ki Sabzi - richness written all over it. After a long time had a chance to have authentic Rajasthan food. Semi thick made of besan. Gatte is referred to as cooked and spiced gram flour dumplings with are dunked into a bit of spicy curd gravy. Loved the texture and the taste. Gravy has a lot of ingredients (curd being the main/garlic/ginger/chillies/mustard seeds/heeng/turmeric and so on) It's all about getting the balance correct. I would surely come for this dish anytime.
Dahi Vada was an addition which was made well, had the correct notes and tasted good. Soft.
Surprised to get Daal Batti Churma - very popular in Rajasthan as well as Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. It is prepared using Lentils and Batti is hard wheat rolls. Dal has Tuvaar/chana/moong/Urad and one more which I can't recollect. Mustard and cumin play a vital role plus other Indian spices.
One has to break the Baati add the Dal, a lot of ghee some choorma and have this lovely dish.
We were given the Phulka which was good, puri and Jawar Rotla which went well with garlic chutney and ghee. Rice I skipped the Moongodi Mewa Pulao instead opted for Steamed Rice with Surti Dal (sweet/tangy/spicy this is special. Some peanuts added to it. Surat is all about sweet/spicy/tangy. Go for the Dal. Rajasthani Kadi went well with the Phulka.
Desserts - Gulab Jamun were good. Aromatic with saffron and the milk cake was rich.
Overall - a bit of fine tuning required. Overall this place is a winner by miles. Authenticity at it's best as they have got cooks from Gujarat/Rajasthan and Saurashtra. Keep up the great work. Cheers will be back soon.

Dahi vada: An Indian appetizer which has a vada made up from daal. And its garnished with lotts of chilled curd and Indian spices. The vada was soft and the curd Wasn't sour. Overall liked the dish.
In sweets they had.
Kalakand: A sweet made up from milk. This was really an amazing creation. Must try this once.
Angoor rabadi: mini Rasgulla dipped in to amazing basundi. So amazing flavors and thick basundi was just perfect.
The Manuhaar offers 5 vegetables in a meal out of which 1 would be paneer based, 2 pure vegetables, rest 2 will be authentic gujarati or marwadi vegetables. We had,
Paneer sabji (#sabji 1)
Guvar (aka cluster beans) (#sabji 2)
Mix veg. (#sabji 3)
Sev tomato (#sabji 4)
Gatte ki sabji (#sabji 5)
Along with the vegetable they also serve daal and kadhi for rice or khichdi. Both were super tasty and nicely going with steam rice and a khichdi.
Along with the vegetables and a dal they had served 3 types of rotis which were
Fulka roti
Jowar (sorghum) roti.
Puri
All 3 were going well with one the vegetables. So there is enough choice for us, what to eat and what not to.
At the end the meal was completed by Chaas.. It had Coriander in it and because of that it tasted very refreshing. Must try.
Overall had a great time. The dishes and the service over here is really appreciated. The chef and a staff (mr. Jigar) had given us very memorable experience. Big thanks to the Management for amazing hospitality.
Worth visiting the place for trying the super delicious thali.

Manuhaar, truly reflects the actual homestyle cooking of Gujarati , Marwari & Rajasthan. The tradition of lavish meal cooked by the Maharaj in royal family is truly adapted here. Each and and every dish was just outstanding. The flavors, blends, spices and aroma from each every dish served was outstanding.
Manuhaar, truly is the best experience we ever had in this guj- Rajasthan cusine.
Ambiance:
Sahara Star always has excelled in giving best of everything for all its patrons. Manuhaar is another example of its finest creation.
Great service and also ensuring you have best time .
The Thali concept is surely the best way where family gathers together to relish food and conversation.
We visited this place on Friday afternoon for a family lunch.
We had:
Welcomed with
-Chaas
Rose water with some black salt added to it , to balance sweetness.
Condiments & Munchies around Thali:
Home flavor Mirchi Achar, Ghee, Chutneys, Chunda, salad &Papad. A must for every thali.
Farsan:
Kothimbari Wadi was just outstanding. Soft & Moist from inside with beautiful flavors.
Palak Dhokla was soft, with heeng tadka. A very traditional method adapted by the chef to give the wow factor to every dish served.
Some Sweets:
Gulab jamun & Kaju Katli, served . Again, very less on sugar. The way we like it.
Mains:
Dal Batti & Churma: A must in every Rajasthani meal. Just fabulous. Dal Batti was good. Churma was just amazing.
Some sabzi:
Bhindi Sambhariya: a home style dish of lady finger with lovely stuffing.
Baigan Bharta: Not a person to relish aubergine. But, this was really delicious. The garlic flavor in the gravy was really good.
Paneer Mewadi: A yogurt gravy base with paneer and spice. Very nice.
Mutter Muthiya: One of the favorate green dish of Gujarati with besan kofta.
Gatte ki sabji: a very traditional sabji, simple ingredients & bold flavors.
Some dal & Kadhi with some JOWAR ROTLA, Puri & Phulka to relish
Dish of the day:
Kaju moongwadi pulav
Fried in ghee the moongwadi, with basic spice in rice and cashews to give the sweetness.
This was by far the best rice preparation we have tasted by any chef.
Chef Hiralal's Amazing experience in traditional gujju/ Marwari cuisine truly reflects in this thali.
The selection of each ingredient, giving variations in flavors, perfecting it to its true origin taste. Each and every dish served requires alot of skills to get this kind of taste. Love the details the chef has taken care for.
If you wish to try the Authentic Delicious Thali, there is a must go
Highly recommended.
The Traditions of Gujarat and Marwad
India’s eclectic culture has lured people from around the world. The global
citizen is by and large aware of the dynamics of the Gujarati and Rajasthani
culture. But experiencing the nuances of those cultures on the palate tells of just
another spellbinding experience! Manuhaar is one of the newest restaurants at
Mumbai’s plush Sahara Star. The restaurant offers the choicest variation of
Gujarati and Rajasthani cuisine.
The décor is soothing, and the ambiance has city dwellers gleefully cutting off
from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. A traditional soft instrumental
plays in the background totally easing my senses.
I was warmly welcomed by the team Manuhaar; and was served by Deepak. He
certainly put his experience to work and ensure that I got nothing but the best on
my table. Each dish was immaculately presented. Deepak also ensured that the
food delivered to my table was piping hot!
I started off with a delicious welcome cooler of butter-milk (Chaas) and Sauf
Sherbet (delicious Fennel seed cooler).
After the coolers I tried the lip-smacking ‘Farsaan’ or what is commonly known
as the starters. The famous Gujarati starter ‘Handwa’ was simply delightful. It is
concocted using an array of lentils and pulses, which is pounded and mixed with
vegetables and baked in a traditional kiln. The dish is healthy indeed, and has
been famously regarded by the westerners as the Indian cake. The ‘Aloo Tikki’s’
were just as delightful. They had a crispy outer, and was delicious on the inside.
As soon as we were through with the biting’s we moved onto the mains. My dish
was topped up with an array of vegetables that included ‘Paneer Nagori’ (A
cottage cheese delight), Turai Moong Dal (A vegetable and lentil mix, a Gujarati
speciality), ‘Fansi Dhokli’ (French beans coupled with pulses dumplings), ‘Aloo
Mutter Tamatar’ (A Rajastani special that translates as a mix of potatoes, peas
and tomato), and last but not the least is the delicious ‘Gatte ki Sabzi’ (A
vegetable made from Gram flour and cooked in creamy yogurt, a Rajasthani
special). My vegetables went very well with the hot and fresh yet paper-thin
‘Phulka Roti’s’, deep friend golden ‘Pooris’, and corn flour flatbreads.
The Rajasthani’s and Gujarati’s have a very balanced diet, and their meals are
never complete without a rice dish. I was fortunate to experience the ‘Meva
Pulav’ (A rice dish completed with an array of dry fruit and spices). They also
offered the steam rice that could go along well with the Rajasthani special ‘Dal
Bati Choorma’, or ‘Masoor ki Dal’, or the delicious ‘Rajasthani Kadhi’ (made from
a yogurt and gram flour mix.
My meals always end on a sweet note, and I shamelessly dug into the ghee rich
‘Ghevar’ and the ‘Sevai Kheer’ (A Vermicelli and milk preparation complete with
dry fruits and topped off with a rich smattering of saffron).
All in all the experience was simply delightful! I certainly look forward to visiting
the Manuhaar again.

Me and my friend were looking to try out a Royal Lavish North Indian Thali somewhere close by that's when we came across Manuhaar. Their Diwali Offer attracted us to get over here, thali only for 1450Rupees, which is valid till 8th November, 2018.
Coming to ambiance, they have got a royal touch here- with artistic monuments and paintings, royal plates, lavish comfortable seatings and yes even the staff are dressed in Rajasthani Style. Their open kitchen is also really eye catching.
The cuisine over here is Marwadi and Rajasthani, so yess ghee is almost in every food here.
One more thing i forgot to mention- their Thali keeps on changing everyday, even not same for Lunch and Dinner on the Same day :-)
I am glad that when we were here i got to try-
Daal Bhati Churma, Gujrati Kadhi

We were at the restaurant for dinner last evening. It’s Sahara Star’s all new outing specialising in Gujarati and Marwadi Fare. The dishes they serve are done in crockery typical to the region.
Their service is as brilliant as any other restaurant of Sahara Star. Always smiling and helpful. Can’t really have any complaints there. The menu changes daily with regards to the main course and dessert but some offerings like daal bati churma, dahi wada, chutneys stay common. They offer some 16 different types of chutney.
The welcome drinks are chaas and kokum serbet. The farsan is moong dal Kachori and khaman dhokla. The khaman was the softest fluffiest that we have had to date. For the main course veggies we tried the paneer nagori, phool Gobi mutter, Gatte ki sabzi, Tendli and lauki. 5 varieties in total.
For the daals they had the yellow daal and the Gujarati special kadhi. This was accompanied with a basket of different rotis as well as dal khichadi and plain rice.
Desserts were the decadent Rasmalai and pineapple halwa. Loved the concept and the food served was top quality. This place is a special recommendation for a hearty thali.
Manuhaar – If you are looking for some extravagant thali especially a great combination of Gujarati & Rajasthani, then think no further and head straight to this latest iteration of Sahara Hospitality. Situated at 00 level next to E.A.S.T, this place exudes luxury, quaint and one of the classy thali places in the vicinity. I loved the ambience; copper cutlery used which shines across all the tables and the open kitchen concept. Priced at Rs. 1450/- without taxes per thali, this place is surely one of the sought after places to watchout for if you are around that area.
So being a thali it was a set menu and we started off as below
We were welcomed with Kokam Sharbat (Rating 5/5) – was so well balanced on flavors and perfectly masalaoed and Chaas (Rating 5/5) was perfect, not too salty or too sour.
Post that we binged on farsans like Khaman dhokla (Rating 4/5) – soft, fluffy and tasty, Kachori (Rating 4/5) – Hard shell on outside and good stuffing of veggies on inside to start off with and Dahi Wada (Rating 5/5) – The best thing in farsan I think as the dahi was so well served with balanced sweet and sourness and wada accompanied innit was too yum.
For mains we were presented with 5 sabzis viz. Gatte Masala (Rating 4/5), Paneer Nagoori (Rating 5/5), Phool Gobi Mutter (Rating 5/5) and Parwal Tendli ki Sabzi (Rating 4/5) These were accompanie with Puri/Phulkas and mixed rotla. Out of the entire lot, paneer was a standout in terms of taste whereas the parwal tendli ki sabzi was slightly higher on heat side. Overall mains were delicious to binge on and am sure one cant eat all sabji more than once as they are so good on taste and quality and pretty heavy to binge.
By this time you are mostly satiated with the heavy yet soulful food but then there lies Rice and dals as Plain rice khichdi (Rating 5/5) and steamed rice with Yellow Dal (Rating 5/5) and Gujarati Khadi (Rating 5/5) Lastly we were savored with Dal Bati Churma (Rating 5/5) – They were so good and satisfying to eat. Loved gorging generous ghee on khichdi and khadi.
For desserts they served Ras malai (Rating 5/5) and Pineapple Halwa (Rating 4/5) – Best out of the lot was ras malai whereas in regards to halwa felt something was missing in regards to overall taste but nonetheless good to eat.
Overall I loved their hospitality and their overall food offering. It certainly is on my best thali list in Mumbai hence I give my overall rating as 5.

31st restaurant to be rated a complete 5on5 by me. 4 is for the food and 1 is for the outstanding smooth service offered.
Manuhaar is located inside the lavish Sahara Star hotel and it is easy to locate.
This was my 3rd visit to this 5 Star hotel and trust me every time it feels great to be here. The property as a whole is amazing and if I talk particularly about Manuhaar the ambiance is nicely made with elements taken from both Gujarati & Rajasthani cultures. The walls have nice paintings and antiques are kept all around. They have a live kitchen which is always a treat to see. The seatings are comfortable and options are great for all types of groups.
As this is a Marwad & Gujarati Thali restaurant the menu changes on a daily basis with new dishes served. Priced at 1450/ excluding taxes I found it pricey but fine dine and 5 star so can't complain about that.
I went for dinner and the service was quick. Special thanks to the Floor Manager Mr. Satish & Staff Ajay who were super attentive and they took utmost care of everyone by bringing fresh items from the kitchen whenever someone was asking for it.
The Thali consisted of the below items -
Welcome Drink -
Pudina Sherbat.
Chaas.
First time drank the entire glass of chaas as it was good however the pudina sherbat was outstanding as it had amazing flavours which were not strong hence drank on a repeat mode.
Farsan -
Handwa.
Makai Tikka.
Peas based handwa was slightly dry but tasted nice and the makai tikka was excellent as the juicy corn went well the spicy filling.
Vegetable -
Paneer Ranwadi.
Fansi Dhokli.
Turai Moong Dal.
Gatte Ki Sabzi.
Aloo Mutter Tamatar.
I liked the mix match of bold & subtle flavours together used perfectly. The Rajasthani dishes had nice strong masalas used and on the Gujarati side it was less masalas yet tasty dishes served. But I liked the Marwad vegetables more as they were amazing.
Dal/Kadhi -
Dal Bati Churma.
Yellow Dal.
Gujarati Kadhi.
The dal & Gujarati kadhi were basic yet tasty however the dal bati churma was delicious to the core. 2 types of bati used one normal and other with chilli, green peas paste used inside soaked into desi ghee served with dal and topped with churma was amazing. The bati was not hard and it was indeed the best dal bati churma I have had till date.
Roti -
Puri.
Phulka.
Makai Rotla.
Rotis were great but the Puri was amazing.
Rice -
Khichdi.
Steamed Rice.
The khichdi was light and tasted good.
Sweets -
Ghevar.
Sevai Kheer.
Both the sweets were tasty, delicious however the ghevar was incredible.
On the Table -
Spicy & Sweet Chutney.
3 types of Pickles.
Desi Ghee.
Papad.
So Manuhaar serves an amazing mix of 2 cuisines perfectly with great options and perfect ambiance. Hence this place is highly recommended.
We visited this newly opened Manuhaar at the iconic Sahara Star yesterday. The restaurant severs the thali, primarily showcasing the authentic Gujarati and Marwadi delicacies.
The place very spacious and brightly lit. The brass plates and bowls are placed on the table, therefore, once you are seated the humble staff just begins to serve each course.
It starts with refreshing kokum Sharbat & chaas followed by dal Bati and farsaan items. Then comes the variety of vegetables, dal and Indian bread, dessert.
Some of preparations were exceptional. In fact, all the dishes were cooked and tasted the way we make at home. The dishes were not overpowered with ginger, garlic or powdered spices. We really enjoyed the dal bati and gatte ki sabzi. The bati had the perfect texture. The gatta was soft and flavoursome. To be honest, it was more delicious than the one we had in Rajasthan.
Although, I was expecting the classic ghewar or moong halwa in dessert, the angoor basundi was still satiating.
All the severs were very courteous and they top it up your empty bowls with humble smile.
To conclude, our overall experience at this new place was very satisfying. Thank you team Manuhaar.

WHERE IS IT !?
Manuhaar is located inside Hotel Sahar Star, it's near the domestic airport.
WHAT DOES IT SERVE !?
Manuhaar is a vegetarian thali restaurant.
The unlimited thali restaurant has a rotational menu and serves delicacies from rajasthan and gujarat.
WHAT I LIKED THE MOST !?
VEGETARIAN THALI -
The thali consists of two welcome drinks, steamed farsan, fried farsan, five vegetables, dal, kadhi, steamed rice, pulav, roti, puri and two sweets.
Dal bati churma along with condiments and papad is also offered.
Here is what I liked from the thali -
Jaljeera as a welcome drink was nice and refreshing.
The mashed green peas kachori given as a appetizer was crispy yet moist, I enjoyed it with the sweet tamarind chutney.
The mains consisted of paneer jodhpuri, turai moong dal, chana masala, methi moongodi and gatte ki sabji.
I liked the paneer jodhpuri, it had a yogurt based gravy. Even the moongodi with methi was a unique preparation, I paired it with the dry fruits loaded mewa pulav.
The indian dessert of badam halwa and kesri kheer made up for the perfect ending.
WHAT'S MY TAKE !?
Manuhaar is a marwadi term which literally translates to appeasement.
Manuhaar is all about enjoying the traditional delicacies of rajasthani and gujarati cuisine to your hearts content.
Their pleasing ambiance and hospitality give you a memorable experience.
Manuhaar, probably means pacifying or soothing and this place defines that to the core. Firstly I am probably the biggest admirer of this hotel property overall cos this is a calm, cool, serene and green world inside the real world filled with noise, pollution and heat. Somehow I feel totally relaxed once I step into Sahara star. The various speciality restaurants have won my heart several times and this time Manuhaar too didn’t fail to bowl me over. The restaurant is based right amidst the beautiful breathtaking ambience of water and plants around with the most remarkable and appealing looking view of the hotel dome. Once inside, it’s a journey to Gujarat and Rajasthan all the way, right from the wall art, the art pieces which adorn the rows and of course the hearty and phenomenal meal. The chefs are experts hailing from these states and who specialise in the most authentic and indulgent dishes of these states.
So it’s a thali which consists of various bowls and more bowls and even more bowls. It’s endless love served in each bowl is all I can say. Make sure you are here on an empty stomach to do complete justice to the meal. The feel of the place, service and the thali layout is so majestic and royal that we felt nothing short than the blue blood. The service deserves a standing ovation as always. They just don’t falter anywhere and there is no chance one can complain. They are perfect to the T.
Our meal last evening was in the form of these dishes,
1. To kick start the meal we were given jal jeera sherbat. This was perfect. Tangy and full of Masala but yet subtle.
2. Chaas. The best drink to accompany any thali.
3. Rajbhog. We were offered 2 sweets. One of them was rajbhog. All I can say is we couldn’t stop relishing this one at one serving. Fresh, soft and rich. Perfect amount of sugar was used and the inside of the rajbhog was stuffed with loads of dry fruits.
4. Gajar halwa. Though still not in season but still so sumptuous and blissful. The flavour of pure ghee just came through in each bite.
5. Damni dhokla. This was a khaman dhokla with a nice tempering of mustard seeds and curry leaves. The flavour was slightly sweet just how khaman dhokla should be. Perfect.
6. Ghugra. A favourite of the thali lovers. Especially made during winters with green peas etc. was crispy outside and melt in the mouth on the inside. Perfect again.
7. Paneer masala. Not a regular gravy in a thali but due to popularity it’s made it way here. Was good.
8. Gatte ki sabzi. Excellent. One of my favourites and this was simply outstanding. A nice tangy flavour.
9. Baingan ka bharta. Full of spices and flavours. Again a dish which needs to be applauded.
10. Patta gobi subzi. Cabbage and green peas made exactly the way made at home. Soul food truly.
11. Palak ka saag. Loved loved loved this. It had a fantastic texture and the flavour of ghee just couldn’t get off my palate. Excellent.
12. Dal baati churma. A Rajasthani signature dish. Not a fan but I can easily say this is one of the best I have had.
13. Dal tamatar. Just a basic dal. Nothing overpowering and no major flavour. Was ideal to be relished with some steam rice.
14. Gujarati kadhi. Wow!!!!! This was the most striking flavour I have had in a long time. Loved it beyond words. A perfect balance of sweet and sour.
15. Puri, phulka and bajra rotla. 3 options in breads to suit each Maincourse and also to suit individual taste.
16. Moong dal khichdi and steam rice. I’m a khichdi fan and can survive on it lifetime. So I thoroughly enjoyed good portion of this.
In start a tray full of pickles, chutneys and pure desi ghee was placed on our table so that each could be enjoyed with the meal to follow.
This extraordinary opulent meal ended and our faces were gleaming with happiness and contentment. Regional meals are so much more welcome than fusion food trends. This was my kind of a meal and I would love to come here at every craving for such meals. Highly highly highly recommended by me. Do try.
