oming to the menu, they have quite an overwhelming and elaborate menu that sticks to the authentic theme and taste of Gujarat. But not being very rigid with the plan, they also have few fusion dishes, staples like Dosas, pav bhaji etc that has been incorporated in a veryunique way keeping the health quotient and also different taste buds in mind. They have not used any refined flour for any breads, rather have tried using bajra, jowar and nachni. The menu is interesting to read, and also if you are not aware of the local. GUJJU DISHES YOU MAY NEED THE HELP OF THE STAFF GUY TO EXPLAIN IT TO YOU. Also this place in a winner for all those who always look out for pure vegetarian places to dine.
All the dishes we tried here were so delicious and I highly recommend these dishes
Turya patra nu shaak with biscuit bhakri, nachni uttapam, jowar pita pockets, dal dhokli, farali pattice, panki and mohantal and Jalebi in sweet.
I highly recommend this place that will surely give you a taste of Gujurat.
Worth a visit to reorient from habitual eateries. Delight for the taste buds.
My love for Gujarati food is attributed to my dear co sister Jenita Chugh . We tried many varieties and all were satisfactory . The location being opposite Babulnath Mandir gives some kind of rejoice to the soul and soulful food at Soam just adds upto it .
Too expensive but I've been drawn here multiple times. Food is consistently very good but a bit homelike. If you crave the homemade food taste (which I don't), this place is worth a visit. No food tried here disappointed and I'll visit again. But not worthy of 5 stars because of the price point.

Went for a family dinner to Soam. They offer a very ethnic spread of gujrati food but not too typical. The taste and quality of food was very good. Felt like we were eating home cooked food!! The service was excellent and super quick. The staff was friendly and kept asking us how the food was and whether we were liking it.
Puran Poli is a must try! It was excellent!
A good restaurant for a small family dinner!

If you want to have mouth watering desi food look no more. Soam serves good gujarati food and you can also have gola and sugarcane juice out here. We had sev puri, makai wadi, cheese patti samosa, cheese sada dosa , sabudana khichdi , masala khichiya , malai malpua and kesar jalebi. The quantity was good and the food delicious. Will surely come here again with family
If you are craving Gujarati food... Soam is the place to be!
Falafel was very bad, donāt experiment different cuisines here, stick to indian- specifically Gujju food.
Puran poli and moongdal halwa was lip smacking!
Undhiyo was very flavourful and not very oily.
Satpati roti was good too!
This place gets really crowded on weekends and at meal time 12noon-2pm and 7pm-8:30pm
So plan accordingly!
The many colours of Soam, Mumbai. Now Soam is an institution at South Bombay in its own right and serves up some of the best Gujarati food and chaat. When I got a chance to visit it this time they also had their winter special going on; pictured here is one of them called Ponkh Bhel. Ponkh is basically tender jowar and this dish was interesting and pretty tasty and if you have had a chance to try Ponkh yet I highly recommend you try it out.
The second dish is Dahi puri and I love well made Dahi puris and this was no exception- absolute love!
Then we had the Pani Puri and I love that they gave you the option of any filling you want but I rather have them made for you pani puri than the make it your selves pani puri-go figure but this just wasn't the same.
Next is the Puri with Undhiyu which again is a winter special dish made of winter vegetables and was super healthy and nice, not going to lie not my favourite puri combo but it was a nice change.
All in all, despite being on the higher side of pricing, Soam is definitely worth it.
This place located in south mumbai serves authentic gujurati upvas farahal food. Really yumm sabudana khichdi and farahal pattice kandh pattice and chilla both were really yumm. Loved the lassi and aam panaa the falafel was really yumm too
Absolutely amazing and authentic Gujrati food! Try the "thali" here, you will definitely come back again. Very cozy but thriving ambiance, even on a weekday afternoon!
For most people acquainted with unlimited Gujarati Thalis, the idea of fafras and dhoklas might make you feel heavy. But this place is different. With a mix of ayurvedic tenets to cookimg and a wide variety of food from Mumbai street food (dahi Chaat, bhels) to Gujarati specialities, head here for a wholesome Mumbai experience!

Iāve visited the place it is located at Girgaon chowpatty. The perfect place to visit for a family dinner. Weāve ordered chole bhature and puri, the puri were soft and less oily and the chole bhature were delicious. The ambiance was good and the staff were polite the overall experience was quite nice.
I visited this place with my family few days back
The service was pretty good food was served well in time
I ordered chole bhature which were truly delicious and mouth watering .
Ambience was also quite decent
Overall experience was pretty good
Would like to visit again
Right opposite Bbulnath temple, it is easy to spot. Service is nice, food is tasty. Portions are usually sufficient for just 1 person so order accordingly. Try Undhiyu with poori & Motichur ke golgappe.
We ordered peru panha, lemon basil punch, gatthe ki subzi and dal baati churma. I loved the ambiance and food. And of course my company! Bill 930 bucks
This place serves great traditional food. We tried a guava panna, sugar cane juice and lemon basil punch which were amazing. In farsan the khapoli batata wada were good and vatana pattice were authentic and the paanki was fresh. Papdi chaat was worth trying and paalak cheese Patti samosa is their best snack. Then we ordered nachos and cheese which was superb. The faraali patties was worth trying. The cheese sada dosa and the chutney were perfectly made. The daal baati churma and the thali peeth with methi pitla were also unique. Lastly we tried gatte ki sabzi with masala satpada and masala fada khichdi with kadi made my day and to end the meal we had kesar shrikhand which was rich and creamy. The service was excellent and the ambience was good. A correct place for whoever is fasting and for vegetarians to visit.
Soam was on my wishlist for a long time i am glad i did try it finally. I had heard a lot about it mostly under best vegetarian restaurants in Mumbai. It is located bang opposite Babulnath temple on ground floor. Staff is courteous and service is super fast. They have received so many awards itās all thier on wall of fame plus it is grade A food eatery. It looks very hygenic and trust me one of the few places where even restroom is maintained clean. I loved thier cutlery give a very authentic Gujarati feel.
We ordered for below items:
1. Moong Dal Chilla - nice and crispy not too oil just like home made
2. Paneer Sabji & Paratha - fresh paneer cubes in tasty gravy served with crisp paratha
3. Pooranpoli with Kadi - this was the star dish was us soft puranpoli served with ghee not a spoon but actually quite a lot ghee given in seperate container to be put as per ones choice along with yummy sweet gujrati kadi. This was just heaven i have never eaten such delicious Puranpoli in my life.
4. Masala Dosa - we requested them to make it jain they accodmodated our request and dosa was made tasty
5. Shrikhand Puri with Bhaji - Soft n fluffy poori served with potato bhaji and shrikhand is just divine
6. Gatte ki Sabzi with Satpudi paratha - i have never eaten such yummy gatte ki sabzi at any other restaurant and the paratha was nice and crispy with some masala inside which made it spicy
7. Butter Idli - soft and hot idli served with dullop of butter and chatni & sambhar
7. Pani Puri - we just saw it coming on the next table and would resist but order it too. It looks so tempting and tasted also yumm.
8. Masala Chaas - it was fresh and creamy n masala added to the taste
9. Fresh lime soda - well made with right proportion of sweet n salt
Overall a fantastic experience they donāt add soda to their food hence food is fresh and taste like home. Very hygenic and one if the best pure vegetarian place in Mumbai.
When you are with you family you want to give them the best experience. Visiting this place was one such moment.
I visited this place with my parents & grandfather and oh bout they loved the food.
Food -
We ordered mutter puri & dahi aloo thal, gatte ki sabji & rotla thal and we finished the meal with shrikhand and jalebi.
I would rate it 5/5. Absolutely spot on in terms of taste, simple presentation and quantity.
Staff -
Extremely courteous and well behaved. They actually came at our table and asked my grandfather's feedback which according to me was super cute.
Place is a bit crowded as obviously there is a long queue of people waiting for their turn.
This place is a must must must visit if you love authentic Gujarati food & homely vibes.
PS - I am gonna add the picture of my super cute dadu relishing the food š
This is my family favourite. We can just blindly pick anything from the menu and it's always yummy. Little cramped up, but the food absolutely makeup for it.
They have wide range of healthy & authentic food, dishes like falafel khichadi are so delicious but my personal favorite is cheese palak samosa
Delicious Food with Location Good.
At balkeshwar Do Puja, Say Om and later Do Pet Pooja at Soam.. āŗļøšāļø

A must go for veg food lovers, this place is perfect for families. Took our mom here for dinner and she loved it. Ordered paneer paratha , chole bhature, puran Poli and some mattar vada ( which was forgettable and not that great). However the other 3 things were delicious. We could understand that it is authentic and the products used are so good. The service was good as well. A must go with family.

Pleasing service, š always with a smile, eager to serve waiters. The food..... v difficult to choose what to eat as everything on the menu is supremely tasty. Must not miss their Kand Patice & Chilla, Jowar Pitta pocket and shravan special farali misal, Kuttu Idli. Not certainly, a place for calorie concious although they have low calorie iteams also. Would suggest to eat anything from menu except South Indian dishes(also v tasty) because they are available everywhere in Mumbai. Their desert menu(entire) is to die for.
Overall an unforgettable experience šš
Good food polite staff a great place to have dinner. Great ambience.
Very wide range menu. Good food and well located. Staff are a bit slow to respond. Overall a 4.5 rating is appropriate.
Kichdi is nice and it's healthy as well - wheat and moongdal are used instead of rice.
Feeling tired.... Have unannounced guests... Feel like having food tasting as if it home cooked... Then this is the place to visit.
Located just opposite the Babul nath temple this is a pure veg joint serving local food.
The place was choc a block full on the Sunday evening. The attendants were very prompt as was the chef... The quality dished out is pretty good and wholesome... Would not recommend to the weight watchers as they might not enjoy the rich platters. For the rest it is the place to visit.
We had ordered some moong dal kichdi and peas puri both of which were absolutely yummy. The chaas was refreshing and the dessert consisting of malpua with khoa had to much calories but then so what... One must indulge once a while.... Recommended
The place is bustling with food lovers of all age groups. The small accompaniments like the peanut nibble foods on the table are enough for you to start slurping. We ordered but were too excited to eat thus missed clicking pictures :)
Ordered:
Farsan Platter - Nice mix of things to start with however the cheese samosas stand out. 4/5
Panki - Though the most ordered and liked dish..found it a little taste less for my taste buds. 2/5
Matar puri and aloo sabzi : Delicious and soft puris. Not a aloo lover but the taste blended well with the puris. 4/5
Pita pockets : Nice try to blend tradition and innovation. 4.5/5
There are so many other exciting things in the menu one can indulge in.. but had to save it for our next visit.
Happy Eating :)
The place is well known for its Gujarati good , I went here for evening snacks but ended up ordering wholesome meal due to wide variety of options and finger licking food. We ordered pani Puri, farsaan platter, daal baati churma, guava Panna and basil lemon cooler. Everything was just amazing, daal baati was one of my favorite.
One of my favourite restaurants for fusion Gujarati cuisine in Mumbai. The farsaan platter and the sugarcane juice is a must try and clearly stand out !! The biscuit bakri - the Patra biscuit bakri and other bakri preparations are awesome! All preparation of moong dal - from moong dal chila to kichu are delicious! The seasonal juices such as guava and others and aam raas are highly recommended. the vegetarian dhansak is also certainly worth a try (though doesnāt compete very well with the authentic mutton dhansak). A complete delight of a restaurant for excellent vegetarian food !
Too class pure vegetarian food. Consistent service since years. Can trust this place blindfolded for good quality fresh vegetarian food. That says it all

if you want to try bombay street food but not on the chowpatty beach shore or street alleys but within confines of indoors look no further . in this cozy eatery i tasted these
dahi puri was crisp puris stuffed with a melange of potatoes beaten curds n tantalizing chutneys topped with nylon sev . A cool treat that I preferred over fiery pani puri on a hot summers day. The chilled dahi made it very soothing for my tastebuds
bhel puri was tongue tickling murmura tossed together with a lot of tangy chutneys aromatic seasonings crunchy veggies n flavorful garnishes. Always such an exciting snack to munch on.
ragda pattice was piping hot potato patties drowned in a gravy of white peas n spices. Laced with chutneys n topped with crunchy sev this chatpata snack was absolutely mouthwatering
kalakhatta gola This melting delight tickled my taste buds with its icy consistency n refreshing taste. In this slush the jeera powder with chaat masala give it a sharp fascinating flavor
though prices are on the higher side my visit at this eatery was truly an incomparable experience
The preparations are of high quality and decent taste, However some of the portions are very small , the Khichdi was very good , and The farsan platter was excellent
I had been there in the afternoon. I tried out the following dishes
1 Moong Dal Khichu - Awesome.
2 Kand Ni Pattice - Very good preparation and it was Awesome.
3 Methi Pitla With Jowar Na Rotla - Liked the Pitla and also the Rotla served with was very soft.
4 Masala Fada Khichdi With Kadhi - Very smooth and nicely prepared.
5 Salted Lassi was also cool.
6 Handva Chutney was also good. Also the mint chutney served with it was good
7 Biscuit Bhakri is also very good
If you want to feast on delicious Gujarati food soam is the place. I visited this place for lunch and hogged like anything.
Loved their farsan platter which they serve with mango chunda, thepla, gatte ki sabzi was perfectly cooked along with masala papad and Chaas.
It was more of a comfort food and would love to visit again.
Soam's ... A place that satiates every Gujaratis' hunger... Not just them but anyone who's fond of Gujarati cuisines with a twist .... It is more like comfort food .... They have seasonal menus too (mango, monsoon, undhyun etc)... The jowar pita pockets are a must try , handvo, vitamin bhel and hot sizzling mohathaal to satisfy your sweet tooth ... The rest you can visit the place and explore for yourself šÆā„ļø
A very good place for vegetarian food. Have tried many dishes here. But my most fav are the khichdis. They are just awesome topped with hot ghee. So Flavourful and delicious. Just love it.

Had a lovely meal here, we ordered dosa, dal baati, chaat, pani puri. Everything was so delicious and flavorful. Really appreciated their service and taste. Recommend you guys to visit here for sure. Its a delightful place.
Best gujju food...we ordered puri bhaji shrikhand, dal batti, bajra debra, panki & mango lassi...the dal bati was delicious and also the bajra puris...the service was super prompt...will surely come back..!
What can be better than being accompanied by a Marwari Guy and a Die Hard Vegetarian Foodie friend to a Gujrati/Marwari Restaurant! I had the privilege and honour to be in that space after a long long time. Being a non-vegetarian, veg food is something that doesn't attract me much, unless it is something extraordinary, just like the food served at Soams! Coming to the Food, had ordered quintessential Daal Baati Churma. This dish in particular was extremely satiating as the daal was made to perfection along with the ghee dipped Baati. The sweetness of the Churma completely complimented the dish. The best part was, eating this did not give a feeling of having an unnecessary heavy meal! The next thing we ordered was Gatte Ki Sabzi with Satpadi Roti. Being from Calcutta and having been surrounded by Marwari friends, this dish was nostalgia for me. The gatte ki sabzi had a homely feeling to it. We ended the meal with a Mango desert which was but average. Or maybe the extraordinary level of the other dishes, had set the standards too high for me, till the desert arrived! My Bong Friends, do give this place a try, it will not disappoint you for sure! Afterall Kosha Mangso is not for us to have everytime :)
More of a non veg person, but the VEG dishes here are amazingly pure, taste is great! Everything Iāve ordered here has always been the best quality. Good place to visit post a Darshan at Babulnath temple! āŗļø
Ordered Aam panda, Pani Puri, Kichdi, Aam Ras Puri and aloo bonda. All the items were light and tasty š Aam ras puri was the best. A must try place.
After two visits to Soam, I have now added it to my repertoire of regular haunts for comfort food. Their farsan platter (esp the samosas) and aamras puri (summer special) are my personal favorites though every dish there is wholesome and comforting.
Only minor complaint would be the pricing is a bit high. With a bowl of aamras @ Rs. 225, it is definitely pricey. Though again, I would not let that stop me.
I would urge them to open more branches!
Have frequently visited with family
They have the best of veg, but healthy food options. If you have been advised to shed fats and fatty food & est healthy they have tasty options. What you will also notice is that they've been serving in brass vessels. As all good things come with a price. So is the cost here
verrry nice food. this place is always full for lunch. Awesome food spread, the taste is outstanding. Service is really polite and nice. would totally recommend this regional food delight.
Bhale Padharo.!! One of the best Gujarati and Street food place which serves great food with a smiling face. I really love their food. Though all of heir dishes are good, I would recommend you to try Mutter ki poori with Aloo Subzi, Paneer Butter masala with parathas, Malpua, farsan platter, kand ni pattice, masala fada khichdi with kadhi and end it with a hot coffee.
My impromptu Ekadasi fast turned into a feast thanks to Soam. They have the most delicious yam chaat, a must try and Ekadasi panki and a nice variety of faraal.
This is a very decent vegetarian restaurant in south Mumbai. Iād been here on my anniversary, although I do not prefer veg food we thought of trying this one and itās a kind of veg I never tasted before simple, flavourful and healthy.
Veggie delight. We planned a lazy summer lunch at Soams. Not being veg fans were cautious. However the place was packed but welcoming. We waited for ten minutes. Orders were taken during the wait. Staff was helpful and found a great window seat for our family . The miniature gatte ki sabzi was tasty with 'satpadi' which too was a novelty. The experiments like veg jowar pita pockets rocked. Nothing to complaint. The desserts.. jalebis, and malpuas we're so tasty that despite being almost stuffed to the brim we could not resist. The cooking medium was good. The presentation. Was traditional and appreciable. The service was great. The amenities are clean and available. Parking was a bit of a struggle to find in a lane nearbuy. Overall a very satisfying experience.
Soam's is my long lost love! My first tryst was an office outing and I could never get the taste out of my head. A few days back, when I had to take the entire family for something they ALL could enjoy, I chose Soam's. And am so pleased to report that the taste is just as I remembered.
Paanki- Batter steamed between banana leaves, these thin soft cakes are literally melt in your mouth. Must try! (See pic
Daal Dhokli - My eternal favourite and here they make the dal khatta meetha with a touch of cinnamon. If you're looking for a one dish meal, this is it! Must try!
Veg Dhansak with Salli and cutlets - Was good, though have had better at Parsi joints.
Pitla Jowar Bhakri - Was okay. Nothing special to write about.
Puran Poli - If you do not mind the taste of elaichi (unfortunately I do), do try. They make their polis thick and soft, served with a side of Gujarati Kadhi and Ghee.
Dal Baati Churma - Was good, but dal seemed a little dull in taste. Note: Portion is big and rich enough to be shared between two people. (See pic)
For drinks, we had the Cucumber Chaas (refreshing!) and the Mango Lassi (thick enough to be a dessert!)
At Soam's, you can never go too wrong. There is something reassuring about their food which makes you keep coming back for more. Visit if you are craving good home (read comfort) food, you'll not regret it:)
A perfect dining choice for a vegetarian quick and delicious meal. Guys, if you are in Mumbai then this restaurant is a must visit place. Parking is easily available here. Price may be a little higher but considering the location it's very reasonable & worth every single penny spending here.
Nice cosy place serving great food. Not much of an ambience to talk about but the service is great by smiling servers. Must go for all and will surely visit again.
Heaven for vegetarians, vegan and Jain food also available here. Nice and tasty food. Try different kinds of khicdhi and dal here. It is one of the best vegetarian joint donāt expect spicy food.
If you want to try traditional vegetarian gujarati food then this is the place. One has to be ready to wait for long time as it is always crowded. The best part is they keep on changing the menu as per festivals and seasons.

It requires unparalleled caliber to make food that reminds you of your home and retain the same taste for years. Soam is a hard place to be missed out at Chowpatty.
The ambiance is simplely done but the extensive Gujarati/marwadi menu and authenticity of the taste is praise worthy.
Since it was summer, I choose aam ras puri from their summer special menu. The aam ras was fresh and hot piping puris were fried to perfection! Classic can never go wrong. Definitely worth trying to beat the heat.
Next I went for paanki which is Gujarati snack made on a banana leaf, it was really soft and quickly melted in my mouth.
Canāt wait to try more of their menu!
Soam is one of the famous veg restaurants near chowpatty, just opp to babulnath temple.
It mainly focuses on gujurati and Rajasthani cusines.
We ordered farsaan platter which consisted of four different farsaan with some unique combinations like palak cheese samosa, ghugra, kothimbir wadi, makai wadi with green peas filling. We really enjoyed the makai wadi, samosa and ghugra.
Next we had jowar pita pockets ( kindly note they have amazing options in their low cal section menu for health conscious people :D)
Jowar pita pockets are my absolute favorite, I highly recommend everyone to try it atleast once.
Jowar roti is filled with healthy falafel along with beet, cabbage and carrot salad. It's so flavorful and yum, u can not miss it,it's worth trying.
And lastly we had pav bhaji(it was just like regular pav bhaji, always a good option)
On my previous visits I've had aamras Puri, masala bhaat and, vitamin bhel out of which I would recommend vitamin bhel to try.
Overall a good vegetarian restaurant with unique menu. Ambience is nice not that fancy. It's quite small so one might have to wait for a table but, it's worth your wait.
The panki was l so light. It literally melts in the mouth. Handvo was super tasty. Overall one of my favourite places because of their vast variety of dishes. Only I would say the place is crowded With too many tables which are placed very close to one another. Some space between tables would be appreciated.
Its should be featured in hidden gems of the city as it is in a corner giving some amazing authentic food. Protien chat, aam panna and the vast range of gujrati food with the real flavors are at Soam. Must try and see how this state serves.Ā Suggestion - dont go with a preconceived notion
This is one of my fav restaurants!! None of the dish on their menu has disappointed me so far.
Kanda Bataka Sambhariya with biscuit bhakri - one of my fav dishes here.
Veg Dhansaak with kebabs - Good.
Moong Dal Khichyu - Again Good.
Jowar Pita Pockets - highly recommended.
Dal Dhokli - must try for a non-gujju. For gujjus who get to eat this at home, can skip and rather try some other dish.
Farsan Platter - It has samosa, Ghughra and few more things. Again Good.
Ragda Pattice : Very good.
Shrikhand Puri and Bataka nu shaak : Again a typical gujju combination & very delicious.
Kand ni pattice, Pani PuriĀ : Good.
Its an equal feast for gujarati as well as non-gujarati people.
Service is quick and you can always ask them for recommendations also.
Also check out their seasonal menus like Aamras Puri, Undhiyu Puri etc.
This is a fairly small restaurant right opp Babulnath temple. They don't take reservations, hence recommended to reach by 7.30 pm on a weekend for dinner, else please be prepared for a long waiting.
Soam is an awesome place if you are a veg food lover, but want to try something other than the regular North Indian (Punjabi) food.
The Panki, Gatte + Saptpadi Roti, Malai Malpua are out of this world.
Please expect a waiting period of 15 to 20 mins anytime of anyday.
All in all, it is a delightful dining experience in all aspects.

Visited this place for the first time and was impressed with the menu! The restaurant serves traditional Gujarati dishes. The dishes are homely, yet tasty! I would recommend their Farsaan platter, Paneer Butter Masala with Parathas, Veg Dhansaak with Veg Kababs and Masala Bhaat with Kadhi. Do try their handmade ice creams (their paan ice cream stole my heart!). They also serve Gola on the go!
Soam is a mostly pure vegetarian restaurant in South Mumbai near Chowpatty Beach. Inside the restaurant is modern and clean and Soam is always busy. Sometimes you may have to wait to be seated. The service is excellent. I have also tried the Farsan Platter which included tiny samosas stuffed with paneer and methi leaves and dhoklaand I have tried the delicious Sev Puri. The time before last, we also had their masala dosas. And yes their pani puri canāt be missed. Itās just the right blend of spicy and sweet pani and crunchy puri. Anyone who has not tried this place really needs to try it for a quality Bombay street food experience under a single roof.
Another Gujarati haven to explore! Indulge in their variety of Fada Ni Khichdi available in flavours likeĀ Masala Khichdi (Rs 250), Palak Khichdi (Rs 270) and Vaghareli Khichdi (Rs 270).
Quality and quantity served is best hygienic place friendly staff members
Saatvik and Soul food makes Soam a regular hangout on my list of restaurants.
Homely and delicious Gujarati +Maharashtrian cuisine gives a variety of options to choose at this pure vegetarian place.
We had Batata vada which came with a yummy green chatni and methi masala, we asked for garlic chutney seperately that was awesome. The batata vada were so tasty and light.
Satpadi roti and gatta nu shaak, kand na chilla as well as the Jowar pita pockets were healthy and lip smacking.
As it was a holi weekend we had thandai and aam panha drink which were really refreshing.
Malai malpua was the only let down as it was a bit dry and not sweet as it should be.
One of my favourite places in mumbai for gujrati food. Was here for an early dinner.
We ordered:
Mix farsan platter- amazing
Vatana Pattice- quite good
Handvo chutney- yummy
Daldhokli- my favvvourite.
The food is yummy. Portions could be a bit BIGGER.
Service is good. Friendly staff.
Love their sweet red chutney served on the table.
Will be back soon!
Decent place with limited menu serving gujarati cuisine in the heart of city. Staff is helpful and suggest you to try new dishes. Must try farsaan platter and other items such as jalenbi, lassi, dhokla, golas, and khichdi. Moong khichdi is awesome and thick..
What it looks like from outside doesn't do justice to what it is, on the inside ! Hidden in the corner is this treasure chest of a restaurant that serves Simple, No-nonsense food... The taste really takes you on a journey to the interiors on Gujarat, Rajasthan... Very very Jain friendly, and the staff is really kind and sweet... You might find it tough to get a spot here but it sure is worth the wait !
Gatte ki Sabzi and the starters platter are a must ! If you can, try the khichdi and kadhi combination to understand what comfort food stands for...
Excellent traditional food. Good service. The place also is well lit with large glass panes on the road side. We went at about 4 in the evening and got a seat quite easily. Don't forget to keep room for dessert!! š
Place location bang opposite to Babulnath temple.
Food is different from routine stuffs, you can find variety like Panaki, ponk bhaji, ponk bhel, (ponk is seasonal in winter), undhiyo, khichu, etc.. these are uncommon varities of gujju food which are available at very few places
The taste was really good. Place is always busy because of chowpaty location. Parking is a problem in a nearby place near Wilson college you can try for pay and Park.
The menu was an absolute delight, offering a wide range of delectable dishes that catered to various tastes. I opted for the chef's special, and I was blown away by the flavors and presentation. Each bite was a burst of deliciousness, and the attention to detail in every dish was evident.
The ingredients used were fresh and high-quality, and it truly reflected in the taste of the food. The combination of traditional flavors with a modern twist was executed perfectly. And the dessert? A sweet masterpiece that left me craving for more.
This place was on my āmust goā list since like a year and I recently had the pleasure of dining here.. This place is located opposite the Babulnath Temple. The restaurantās location, big glass walls, provided a serene and spiritual backdrop for our meal.
It featured a wide range of dishes, including classics like Mutter ni puri & Bhaji, Paanki, thepla, Dal Dhokli etc. The food was a perfect representation of the rich and diverse Gujarati culinary heritage.
We tried Khichu, Jowar Pita Pocket and Aloo Paratha Thali..
Taste: 5/5
Service: 5/5
Value for Money: 5/5
Soam , located near Babulnath temple , Chowpatty . Mumbai
Itās a Gujrati restaurant. The food is absolutely fabulousā .
The quality of the food is awesome. The price is definitely steep but thatās the price you pay for good food and taste .
Quality and quantity both are great !
Totally recommend trying out the jowar pita pockets. It was the best Iāve ever eaten .
We also tried the Debra and the Lal batata nu shak with methi theplas.
Do give this place a try ! Ambiance is simple and peaceful.
Canāt wait to go back to try some more .
I cannot recall a time where I've awarded 5 stars to a food establishment. Perhaps it's my bias for Gujarati food, or perhaps Soam is that good! Love the portion sizes, general quality and fantastic choice.. going to go back every time I visit Mumbai!
Gujarati / Maharashtrian / Rajasthani cuisine veg AC restaurant bang opp. Babulnath temple. Valet parking is available.
Palak cheese samosa was really tasty. Farsaan platter includes it along with other things and is a must try.
Soup qty was quite less , you might not want to make it 1 by 2. Jowar pita pockets are basically falafel like stuffing inside a jowar bhaakri but didnt find it that great. Paanki is not the regular maharashtrian "paangi" and not that great too.
Overall Good experience but not Great...
Amazing food and well mannered staff. I love vegetarian food because of them mostly ā¤ļø;
Awesome experience at this food joint. Taste, and service is what one should experience it, rather than talk about it. Seating is limited it's the only drawback one can see large crowds seated outside rather than seated inside and the wait is worth it. One does tend to eat everything and still don't get the feeling of stuffed. No wonder they get selected for the awards year around.Amazing Gujarati food!!!

One of my greatest food experience in India. I will miss this place! Super hygienic, incredibly tasty āstreet foodā from Gujarat and as a foreigner you can try everything without worrying about the next morning. That sugar cane juiceā¦
Wanted to visit this place for a long time. Finally made it. Ordered Panki, Handvo, Matar Pattice, Dal Dhokli, Gatte ki Sabji and Satpadi Roti, Vagharlela Khichdi and Mohanthal. The panki was absolutely delicious, 3 thin pieces in one portion. Handvo was a bit dry, but tasty. Khichdi was very homely, but nothing spectacular. All the other dishes were nice, what they should be like. Worth visiting once, if in the mood for authentic, home-style Gujarati. The air conditioning seemed off, and something that needs addressing since it felt stuffy.
The service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were more than happy to offer recommendations and answer any questions we had. It's clear that they take great pride in providing top-notch service. Now, let's talk about the food. Wow! Every dish we tried was a culinary masterpiece. The ingredients were fresh, and the flavors were expertly balanced. Whether you're a fan of seafood, steak, or vegetarian options, there's something on the menu to satisfy every palate. The presentation was also a work of art, making each dish as visually appealing as it was delicious.
A most authentic Gujarati cuisine joint, will never disappoint you. Beautiful location Just in front of legendary Babul nath temple. May be you have to wait a bit to get a table during lunch and dinner hours but it is worth .
We had dinner here, so we ordered this farsaan platter (must have) , along with classic paanki and paani Puri for starters. Then in main course we had panner butter masala with paratha š and dal dhokli which is basically wheat roti with Gujarati style dal, and for desserts we had dahi vada. All the items were tasty. The service was quick, staff are all courteous. We had to wait for about 10mins for getting a table , but the wait was worth it. Definitely recommend to visit.
I love non veg compare to vegetarian food but after eating here I really want to come again & try other dishes which I've not tried this time. You really have to stand in a queue to enter this place .. it's not a very big restaurant but the atmosphere & ambience is good. I just relished the food they served .. simply outstanding. Service is little slow otherwise it's outstanding.
I have visited soam to enjoy delicious Gujaratai Food ,but it disappointed me bit because, food was serving cold here, we have order dal bati, Kand na chilla. but could not enjoyed because it was cold. same issue was raise by the other table of near one.
even Waiter was not polite enough to answer our question..!! So overall experience was not satisfactory.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting your food store, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, the inviting atmosphere and friendly staff made me feel welcomed. The store itself was well-organized and clean, with a wide variety of products to choose from. I was impressed by the freshness and quality of the ingredients available. Everything I purchased tasted exceptional and exceeded my expectations. Additionally, the prices were reasonable, making it a great value for the quality of food offered. Overall, I was thoroughly satisfied with my visit to your food store and will definitely be returning in the future. Keep up the fantastic work!
Must must must go here for a great gujrati vegetarian place in bombay. You will never regret this choice
The variety on the menu is just incredible. So many options to choose from! The thecha cheese pao was just an icing on the cake. Every thing ordered was made to perfection.
