Edit to my review: After posting this, Mr. Shekhawat from @tajmahalmumbai contacted me and sincerely apologised for the experience we had, which, he said, was not intentional. I am very happy that @tajmahalmumbai takes customer satisfaction very seriously and is cognizant of the fact that a customer was not satisfied with their service. This shows how serious they are about customer satisfaction and I am convinced that such issues would not be repeated. Thank you, Mr. Shekhawat and @tajmahalmumbai. ========≈=============================== Visited on our daughter's birthday. Considering that this is a restaurant in one of the first luxury 5-star hotels, I think we expected a bit too much! The service was nowhere near 5 stars. The stewards/waiters were slow to respond when called and the service was mediocre at best. We were not impressed. We have been to many restaurants in 5-star hotels in the Middle East and can vouch for the level of service. When I made the reservation at the restaurant for my daughter's birthday, I was surprised to be informed that they do not make any special arrangements for birthday bookings; no decoration on the table or anything else. This came as a shock as most restaurants (whether in 5-star hotels or otherwise) would do something special (either free or for a charge), at least a small pastry for the person who is celebrating. The food was superb though. Everything we ordered was great. My only complaint is that the complimentary popadams they brought to the table were soggy. They replaced it, but still got soggy in under 2 minutes. I think this was due to the humidity and they should not have served the poppadoms in the first place. I am sure they take customer satisfaction seriously and this will not be repeated with anyone else.
