Superb place to hangout and chill. Good music,fabulous ambience and the food is awesome. They serve small bite size which is just enough and delicious. There are so many favourites like kulcha Chana,veg chowmein,hoppers with chicken,mutton Briyani etc. The cocktail & mocktails are an interesting mix. If I need to chill with friends Madira is my go to place. Best of all is the staff extremely courteous and they make you feel special.

Its strange how the only weakness can be turned into your greatest strength!! The concept of running a food joint with special people by their name for them, is brilliant.. The place has a pleasant feel. Vidya's friendly welcome and the staff's hospitality impress you in the beginning itself, the mocktails are refreshing and are served in cute glasses, the food is really tasty and innovatively made. Everything is reasonably priced. It's a place you could go to with your friends or even with your family- and you'll definitely have an amazing time! It definitely is going to become our new hangout point!
Excellent place. Good Food, Good staff, particularly the staff who are special, and needs to use sign language to communicate. Kudos to the owner of that place for recruiting people without any bias of whether they can hear or not. A big thumbs up from my end. I am sure going to visit it again. :)

If I had more than 5 stars I would have given it without a doubt. Came from the States and was in town and on a recommendation of family visited Madeira n Mime and was amazed by the concept and giving a chance to our gifted and talented staff working in the restaurant. Who couldn't talk and hear but also won our hearts. Food and drinks were top class and the DJ was super rocking. Chote Lal who worked there rocked.. Do visit and experience it. Madeira and mime is one of the most unique places in town. How you may ask? This restaurant hires speech and hearing impaired staff and gets you to Interact with them through sign language. Don't know sign language? Worry not. Their menu has got it covered with the different ways to order dishes as well as how to be courteous and say thank you.
With it's own unique style this place will captive you.
Apart from this, the restaurant serves delicious food. Their Mac and cheese pasta, nachos and pizzas are mouth watering and tempting.
They also server amazing appetizers, salads, ramen, noodle bowls, rice bowls and burgers.

I have been to Madeira & mime a lot as it is close to my work place. Really liked their concept.
The ambience is really cool both the outside as well as inside seating has its own pros.
The outside ambience is really cool in terms of seating, the foosball table, the lights and all. The inside is much better in the late evening as they start with the music and the dance floor is on fire. The play really good bollywood songs.
Coming to the food, it's as good as it ambience. You can order any starters, all are good in taste.
Main course is selectively good. I didn't enjoy their missal as such, good presentation but they lost it on taste.
The hot chocolate too was okay as I felt that the consistency was very thin.
Loved the fries and starters.
The food is over priced though.
Obviously this was way before quarantine and I so miss this place.

Madeira and mime located in Powai is one creative restaurant you are going to visit. If you love Foosball and music that place is perfect for you. We tried butter chicken fondue and Spaghetti. The food quality and quantity was 10/10 with a rich flavour. The service was good and unique as they communicated with sign language. Overall the ambience is mesmerising and the place is a bit pricey but a must go!
This place is quite different from the other ones, it had that joyous ambiance and happy faces around which just makes your day. They servea dish from Japanese cuisine 'Ramen', which is a must try if you're into trying new dishes, plus french fries as a side dish is a good combo.

I came to mumbai from bangalore and went to this place with a friend on Sunday afternoon. It was a live music afternoon, loved the ambience that time. Loved the concept of having a staff as dumb & deaf people. Food is also really good, soups can taste much better.

First of all, GREAT concept! Second, amazing food!! The vibe of the place is welcoming and the staff is warm and courteous. This is one of the best themed cutest places I've ever been to. The staffs are so cheerful and for the first time I have ever been to a deaf-muted themed restaurant. It was so damn amazing. The smell of the brownies, hot chocolate and coffee wafted me to a different world. My personal favourites are grilled chicken, Freak shakes, chocolate mousse & cream cheese. Apart from this, the menu, color, set-up, paintings & everything looked super cute. 🐤🐥

This is was my first visit to the restaurant and I found that the restaurant was quite unique not only in the food choices but in the staffing choices as well.
The food was quite delicious and the portion size was quite hearty for an individual with a small appetite. We had ordered the following:-
1. Madras mutton curry and rice: Not the most authentic in flavour however this dish does quite the justice go the humble madras mutton curry found in most homes and restaurants; served with the most light and fluffy kolum rice.
2. Peshawari mutton: Served with English bread however the dish has quite the heat. The spiciness can hit you hard and fast. Best paired with some rice in my opinion. Keeping aside the spice factor; the dish was quite amazing.
3. Laksa Curry with noodles (Veg): I am falling short of words to describe this dish; to be honest it was a symphony in my mouth. The dish is filling, hearty and leaves a delicious coconut taste. However be careful of the red chillies in the dish; swallowed one which was luring the curry which nearly choked me and gave me a heart burn for the next few hours.
4. Teppanyaki chicken (x2): Never tasted a better version of this dish in the city. Tasty, light and fulfilling is the best way to describe the dish.
5. Oranges are lemons (passion fruit + cranberry + mandarin) : Quite the refreshing drink and served in a unique glassware.
6. Bubblegum Mojito (white rum + mint + bubblegum) : Quite a unique twist in your regular mojito however it didn’t taste like bubblegum, the taste was more on the lines of watermelon.
7. Fruit Custard & Rex Jelly: Reminded me of my childhood and the classic combination of custard and jelly given to us as a special treat.
8. Chocolate Eton Mess: A unique dish, never tasted by us. Burst of flavour and filled with the richness of chocolate and the airy fluffy texture of whipped cream. A must try for sure.
9. Caramel Custard (x2): Light, simply, airy and creamy; the best way to describe the caramel custard we had. Delicious.
What I loved the most was that the enterprise has given the opportunity to people who are hearing and speech impaired; which is a great job. Decor is quite rustic and classy which a modern touch. I loved the quirky sense of interiors. However in my opinion the only drawback was the loud music. I couldn’t hold an conversation without shouting.
A special shout out to Pramod for taking care of us and being so attentive to us.
I am definitely planning my next visit soon.

Madeira & mime is 10 steps away from its flagship restaurant Mirchi & mime but more with a casual seating and vibe. The bonus point is you can take your fur babies along.
I visited the place to try out their Pre valentine cocktail menu and it I must say the menu was well crafted. My favourite being rose & rosemary which was a gin based cocktail.
Coming to food, we started with raw mango & singhdana salad which was tangy & tasty. We also ordered peri peri chicken, butter garlic prawns which was delicious. The highlight was the fiery chicken wings which was one of the spiciest I have ever eaten. It was prepared in bhut jholakia, so now you can imagine the level of spice.
And how could we leave without having some dessert but my favourite being their whole wheat cake- jaggery creme which was vegan, gluten & sugar free.
A fun place to be with your friends & fur babies and the place is quite picket friendly.
This is one of the best places we have been to. Such super quality food, drinks and ambiance.and most importantly such a courteous staff. There's a special set of servers here who speak in sign language and I fell in love with them for sure. So sweet and courteous. I just love their hospitality.
For food we started with their raw Mango and Singdhana starter which was super yum and completely home made .. it was tangy, sweet and spicy at same time.
Loved their Peri Peri chicken as well which we tried and again the chicken here was super tender and tasty.
Their highlight was the butter garlic prawns and they had the sauce made inhouse .. it was the yummiest thing we have had this year and will be on top of our list.
We tried some of their mocktails as well which we loved.
Also we tried all their desserts and we recommend you to try any and you will love it.. our favorite was the baked cheesecake for sure

Coming to the food- we tried the a chicken sausage starter n a chicken pizza- both were yum. About service , or should I say the much hyped servers - they are worth the hype ❤️. It's very refreshing to see committed servers. There was live music too! He played on request as well.
All in all a very pleasant experience. Food pricing is okay , Alcohol is a little pricey ( that's my only complaint) .

Madeira & Mime, It's one of the finest in the city and also a must-visit in each and every aspect. A gastropub with a twist and an array of cuisines, with mouth-watering cocktails that you've never tried before, as the entire staff helps you master the art of sign language. It had always been on my wishlist to visit this place and finally ticked it off. Talking about the best part was the food and drinks were served exclusively by speech & hearing-impaired service staff, quite interesting right?
It's more of a party place where you can just walk in, sip a drink accompanied by an array of scrumptious delicacies. It's also pet-friendly, so all your furry friends are welcomed with love. Also, they have this vintage fridge which can be spotted upon entering the place and the entire fridge is loaded up with books, so apparently its the best thing for bookworms like me: D. The music differs from day to day wherein they have like live performances and all.
Coming to the food, the entire menu is dedicated to North Indian, Continental and Italian cuisine. The portions are fairly good and are a great justice to the price they charge for the same. I visited this place on Valentine's day and had a great ball relishing their scrumptious dishes and their in-house special valentine cocktails.
We ordered and tried out a variety of food over here and the dishes that made an impression were the "Raw Mango & Singdana" and "Bhut Jolokia Chicken Wings" (Extremely spicy).
"Mutton Sukkha Egg Hopper" turned out to be extremely yummy in terms of the main course. Soft meat, well-spiced and good quantity between 2 people. Recommended for sure.
Ended this lovely meal with an acute portion of "Wholewheat Cake topped with Jaggery Creame". It was my first time experimenting with this and turned out to be very heavenly since it had a well-balanced sweetness throughout. The "Caramel Custard" turned out to be decent too.
Had an amazing time over here and man the experience was undoubtedly the best one. Hearing-impaired service staff giving a flawless service without any hindrance is undoubtedly applaudable. A place meant to be experienced at least once.

I wanted to visit this place ever since I got to know the concept behind it. Also, I know the basic sign language alphabets and the idea appealed to me. The place has a lovely, energetic vibe. The staff was so good and courteous. I loved the food. I loved the chicken Kai ho bai. The Japanese Sour was good, Disco Pisco was too sweet for my liking, Ratnagiri mule was nice! The watermelon feta cheese salad was not good. I have had better. I loved the pizza too and the other dishes. Caramel custard was soft and good. I loved the biscuit pudding. Perfect! I liked the small giveaway pamphlet they gave us with the bill. ♥️

We had been here with my friends, this place is located at Powai. The ambiance is very good and the vibe of the place says it all. Cocktails were amazing. We had Prawns Alla Piastra, chicken wings & kheema pizza. It was sufficient for us. Everything was just awesome and we loved the way it was presented. We enjoyed our dinner and will visit again.

Madeira and mime is a great place for a fun date night. It's cozy and has great ambience. They have a beautiful array of cocktails with a Mumbaiya twist. Our favorite cocktail was the Zaffrano. They also have great bar food one of which is the Bombil Fry n' Chip.The Laksa curry was amazing too. The portion size is really worth the price range. And the best thing of all is the staff, so welcoming and friendly. The only issue is the parking situation but other than that a great place. I would highly recommend it.

We went here with my friends for dinner. The place is quite cozy and ambience is great with good music. The service was fast. We tried their Continental, Italian cuisine. We had starters, main course, desserts. Everything was good and the food was very nicely presented. Liquor is not too pricy and food is also of reasonable price.

Madeira and Mime was the venue of choice for my boss's farewell. We were a loud bunch and it reminded me of those sweet sixteen or coming of age at eighteen birthday parties where everyone behaves like it was the end of an era. The women in the team behaved liked banshees and the men were content to down their drinks to make sense of the madness and music.
Amidst all the mayhem, one thing that does stand out is the calm composure and attentiveness of all the wait staff, who are hearing-impaired. I like the concept and that it makes us sensitive enough to try and communicate with sign language to the servers. The menu cards serve as teaching aids and in the instance that you are unable to communicate with your server, there's always a waiter who can hear who does the interpretation or translation for you.
Coming to the food, the service is super fast! I've never seen onion rings, fried shrimp, potato patties, mushroom caps, french fries and all other forms of bar food come to the table so quickly. It's like their kitchen has everything being made on high flame.The gargantuan potato cheese patties were divine and a big hit for everyone. I'd have loved for them to stick an ice cream stick in it so that I could munch on it like an ice cream bar.
Booze was overflowing with a myriad of cocktails, beers, rum, wines, scotch and the occasional mocktail thrown in for the random teetotaler. Pastas and pizzas were consumed, the food menu has an interesting combination of local and global cuisine on hand, with some crowd pleasers and new spins on typical ingredients.
For dessert I had the chocolate Eton mess, which was not a 'mess', a bit sweet but the chocolate part was indulgent.
I do not not want to know how much the bill for this farewell came up to; I suspect we may have hit 10 or 12k.
I'd like to come here on a weekday, in the afternoon, and enjoy a quiet meal with a little ambient music and learn a little more sign language.
I just love their concept of mime.

We were here on a Tuesday evening. We made a reservation and thank god we did so, because the place was full! They have valet parking, so no issues there.
Food - we ordered the veg manchow soup. It was different but quite tasty! The garlic butter Pav were amazing and is a must have. We will definitely go back for that! The paneer chilly was okayish. Sort of weird. and had alot of sesame flavor. Not something expected to be there in paneer chilly. The best was the mezze platter. It was so well cooked and extremely flavourful! Must have again! 4/5

We were here for lunch. There were few tables put outside in the open, we opted to sit there. We had some Paan Mocktail, Paneer starter and a Farmhouse Pizza. The food was very nice especially the Paneer starter. It was similar to threaded paneer. The staff was super energetic and very courteous. Since we were rushing, we didn't get time to relax and explore the menu. Would certainly want to come back, relax and enjoy, sipping few cocktails with some amazing food.
Perfect place for a perfect Friday! The place has so much of positivity... the concept, staff everyone... so much happiness around! And yes the food is good too :) it’s an experience and a must visit.. they have great music and on weekdays live performances by singers... great place
This place is an absolute gem!! Food was really amazing starting from the welcome sippers with a refreshing taste to the really tasty/great quality food. The best thing about this place is they hire the specially abled staff giving them the opportunity to earn for a better living - a great initiative from the team. Must visit place in Powai, Mumbai❤️

1] Vada Pav - 155 RsTaste was up to the mark.
2] Mumbai to Nagpur - 285 RsTaste was truly good.
3] Bread Biscuit Pudding - 195 RsHighly Recommended.
Ambiance is very pretty. Staff here have a great coordination, and all the servers have a beautiful smile on their face.

It's always been my favourite go-to place for lunch or to hang out with friends for a couple of beers. In love with their concept of employing the speech and hearing impaired staff, creating financial independence for them. Also, we get to learn some sign language while ordering food, which is fun. We ordered Raw Mango and Singdana, Crispy Lamb, and Chicken Hummus along with White Owl Apple Cider and Bira. The food was tasty and we enjoyed Chicken Hummus the most. The staff was very courteous and friendly. Music was good and the ambience was pleasant. Definitely recommend this place!!
It was very Beautiful place located in Powai. We tasted Pizza's and Pasta's which tasted really amazing. A very cool Ambience. Service was very good. We surely recommand this place. We tried this shake and this was damn awesome!
Great food and loved the vibe of this place. The chicken sukka egg hopper is a must try . The grilled chicken and the harissa chicken is good too .

We had a lovely time at this place. Food was good, music was excellent and the staff were awesome. The ambience is perfect for a casual dining experience. The place is manned by people with disabilities and they do an amazing job.
Awesome restaurant run by special people. The ambiance is too good with some great live music. A very well decorated place to enjoy and chill with your family friends and loved ones. Foods served here are plated in a skilled manner which are very appealing to the eyes and are equally tasty and fulfilling. Although the food is slightly higher in price, it's totally worth it.

Had a random Dinner there! And what an experience! Similar to the concept of Dialogue in the Dark, the waiters here are a team of Hearing-impaired staff and you've got to use sign language to communicate.
Apart from this, you've got a refrigerator full of Board Games and a Foosball Table which reminded us of Chandler and Joey. We played Foosball while waiting on our food.
Had Dilli chole with Doubleroti and Teppanyaki

A very happening place. Must visit once. Ambience is good. Service is awesome. Serving staff are vocally challenged and are hearing impaired, interacting with them was also something new and special. In menu we have multi cuisine (Asian countries). We had drought beer, butter chicken and lachha Paratha which was good... I feel portions are small but all cafes do this 😂. But the taste was very good. A bit expensive but it's Powai...should not expect less..😂😂 Overall good experience

Madeira & Mime is a nice place in the heart of Powai for people who want to spend time with friends or colleagues over a drinks and Dinner.
There is open sitting and then there is indoors. Open sitting also has music going on but the indoors has music which keeps on getting louder as the time passes.
The food is decent and the service is very fast. The waiters who ant speak or hear have developed a good sense of understanding and taking orders. They are all very polite.
There is valet parking available.

A fusion food experience in a fantastic inclusive ambience which made conversations easy and also highlighted our privilege . A pet friendly place we enjoyed all the food that we ordered whether it was the Kolhapuri mutton rice or the spaghetti or the pizza and the desserts custard apple panacotta and chocolate brownie
This place has its own vibe. I would definitely recommend this place for a Good Chicken Thai Curry with Rice. Located in the Prime Area of Powai, it has a very good ambiance to compliment with great food. If you are a searching for a good non-veg resto then this place is perfect for you. Contrary to popular belief that you have to learn sign language to have a good experience here, it’s actually not that big a hassle. Just point towards the items you would want to order and the staff shall gladly place the order. They have some interesting cocktails and a good variety of food. A fine place to chill with family or friends.
