It is owned by a Parsi family Kainaz Messman having a group of chains all over India. It's a combination of cafe and bakery with delicious selection of pasteries. Cupcakes, Tea cakes, chocolates, sandwiches and variety of freshly baked breads. It's located in Mumbai with many branches all over in which Colaba causeway is the first one.
To speak of its specialities, where to start from, there is somuch to dig in like :
Hot chocolate is truely delicious with yummy marshmallows to top on it.
A must try dishes to go for are Eggs Benedict, butter crossiants ( the bread is soo moist) with a company of Irish coffee to end the meal with. Also you can't miss to have Eggs Kegriwal it's one of the well designated dishes among theobroma menu . Theobroma's butty chip ( bacon one) is a signature dish with a twist to the original butty chip truelly yumm. The mutton wraps is mouth- melting and simply awesome. It presents a standard English breakfast menu you can't miss to give it a try.
Now now, when is comes to cakes and pastries you'll get definitely confuse where to start from ; there is somuch to explore still you'll feel something is left out untasted I promise you that..
For starters, it has to be the Opium cake , it simply explodes in your mouth . As if you are eating a mousse cake with three layers of dark, milk and white chocolate mousse.
You can't forget to try the Red velvet cake and New York chesse cake. The base of chesse cake is so smooth and a balance of the flavours is perfect.
How can you miss the tarts those are like cherry on top ; it's like your trip is incomplete without those beautiful tarts. These tarts are full of variety starting with fresh fruit seasonal Strawberry tart, then Lemon tart . Last but not the least do try Bannoffee high and vodka flavoured green chilly mousse cake it's gonna leave a unique taste at the end of Ur journey. The cakes here are heavenly made which are born for celebrations only.

This cafe is the most aesthetic cafe I've been to. It's interiors are pastel. It's famously known for its desserts and small bites. The cookies and the Danish here are also delicious.
I loved the coffee and the variety of coffees and pastries at this place, but the cafe was super small with the crowd not that much into decency and manners. It's a shame that such a good place can't be out of such unavoidable cases

Its a famous bakery chain in south mumbai.we tried their walnut brownie, chocolate chip brownie and over load brownie. All were excellent and served hot. We also tried their dutch truffle pastry and it was good. Do visit here for desserts if in the vicinity

One word: AMAZING. The brownies were freshly baked and tasted delicious. The brownie is made warm a bit before serving which brings out the taste.
▪️After Nine Pastry:
It's a chocolate pastry with mint essence. The pastry was presented beautifully and also had good taste as the chocolate and mint went great with each other and did not over power it at all.
In the evenings the place is always filled with people. The service is super quick. An awesome place to have desserts.
The original is always the best. Adequate sitting place and all varieties available.
The cappuccinos were literally out of the world , I wish Theobroma would open a store in Bengaluru as well. The opium pastry melted in my mouth leaving behind the rich chocolaty taste . Over all it was worth the visit and money .
Thank Heavens for this amazing bakery chain. They are the only ones who make Christmas pudding. Made in the traditional manner they just melt in your mouth. The raisins and other dry fruit make it doubly delicious. For take away they come packed in nice beautiful box!
Always a delight coming here for pastries. This Theobrama outlet may not be very spacious but their pastries are lip smacking good. Loved hazelnut pastry among the ones i tried. Value for money and a must visit place!

Tried their millionaire brownie and banoffie. Both were really goood! Banoffie has some coffee flavour kicks too , which is like a twist in this banoffie tart. Lovely desserts!
The employees here are a very courteous and friendly . Especially Umesh , Malan , Melvin , Chetan ,Namrata, Vijay and many more . But my favourite employee is Umesh. He’s very polite and welcoming . Have noticed that he is patient with all customers especially the rude ones . Pastries are Fabulous but would request combo offers too . And please do introduce something healthy for the health conscious and people struggling with weight .
The chicken butty was delicious with the right blend of mayonnaise. My main grouse is that they were rather skimpy with the chicken. In fact, more than 80% of the filling comprised fries. Perhaps they should call it a fries bitty. It would be more honest.

A cute little Cafe in the street's of Colaba. I go only there for coffee and red velvet cheese cake. Both are the best things available there. The sandwichs are really good too.

Unboxing chocolate happiness.... One of my favourite Pattiserie to visit is most definitely Theobroma.... Here we went totally overboard on chocolate options only... My all time favourite , the walnut brownie... Moist, warm and crunchy courtesy walnuts, it is heavenly... The only drawback is that Theobroma has most definitely become a lil stingy with the portion... But the taste is amazing as ever... Next is the hazelnut chocolate eclair .... Mmmm Mmm... Crunchy hazelnut with a hazelnut chocolate cream on top and filled the eclair.... It was a delight.... But hand's down , I fell in love with Opium pastry... Omg!!! A gorgeously made dark chocolate pastry it was divine... Melt in your mouth chocolatey heaven!!! Nothing like ending the day on a Chocolate heaven note !!!
I had brownie from this place which is different from normal brownies. It is softer inside like cream and has thin crisp layer on outside. Taste is what makes it different from others - very fresh and great chocolaty taste only to level it is required. On top of that the brownie I had is eggless.
The chicken chilly roll was tasty. The bread was hot but the filling wasn't. That was a bit of a negative. Egg Benedict - I really liked the runny eggs. Even the bacon was good and so was the side crisp cheesy thing. However, the bread below the eggs was neither hot nor soft. It had become quite soggy and chewy due to the runny egg.

This dainty place serves amazing brownies - soft on the inside and nice n crumbly on the outside! The double chocolate chip cookies were so good that I bought a few tins for friends. They serve 5 varieties of raw pressery drinks out of which we tried the valencia which was super fresh. Also tried the mint lime with soda.. which was very refreshing after a causeway walk.
If you are brownie, chocolate or cake lover, then this is your go to place. They have delicious cakes and chocolate.

Multiple outlet in multiple cities though there could be a parking issue for car at this outlet especially during day time.
Apart from brownies others items are also good and they have beakfast menu also. I would recommend to order at home or take parcel to enjoy at home as seating is limited.
I had 2 of their brownies- oreo and choco chip... Not too dense, definitely fudgy and they warm it for you... tasted amazing. I definitely endorse these beautiful brownies...

The brownies are definitely the best thing on the menu. The best part about this Theo is that you can take it and then sit by Marine drive. The space is small but the service is fast and efficient. Sometimes in the evenings though, the pastries can taste a little different...I mean, they always have better.

A haven for all things sweet, Theobroma is one place I would keep going back to over and over again! I absolutely love the chocolate brownies at the cafe and the assorted range of cakes and pastries and worth dying for! A very pleasant atmosphere follows once you enter a Theobroma cafe and now they also have light snacks which keep the tummy full !
Without the usual hype surrounding cafes in Bombay, Theobroma stands true to its name. Every outlet holds the same quality standards without a slight change in taste or service. I’ve been to the Colaba outlet many times as it’s convenient & not over the top. I prefer the breakfast options at the place because their not too many & it’s exactly something that I’m looking forward to — good egg preparations with ‘classic breakfast’ choices without twists.

Suggested by a friend. Visited their Colby outlet this afternoon. I liked the number is varieties they have for pastries and savoury items they have. I was basically craving for desserts so I ordered a Choco Chip Brownie, A Red Velvet Cake and a Hazelnut Chocolate Cake. Loved all of them. Very flavourful and fresh. The brownie was fudgy and very delicious. The other 2 pastries were equally good. Managed to have one savoury dish ( Non Veg Quish ) as I was pretty full and that was also very delicious. I’ll definitely visit the other outlets and have some other pastry varieties.

Theobroma does justice to its motto - "food of the Gods". Everything they have tastes like heaven. But my favorite is Red Velvet Cake with cream cheese frosting. The cake is absolute soft and the cream cheese frosting is always fluffy and fresh. If you are at Theobroma then you are always smiling with joy.

This was my first Theobroma experience years ago when I was in Mumbai just as a mere visitor. Since then its been a fairy tale journey. Absolutely love this store for its sheer variety- this is the second store after the one at the International airport where I can find most of the stuff that I'm looking for. Theobroma has some amazing treats to offer i have been to many theobroma stores and enjoyed their brownies , tarts and pastries . This time i decided to try two amazing tarts they offer -chocolate and lemon. The tarts had an amazing crust . The filling was light and full of flavour .

I love all the desserts here. I’ve tried the red velvet, choco chip, overload , cookie and walnut brownie and all of them are delicious. Some are extremely sweet and so you might not be able to eat the entire thing at one go if you don’t have an extremely sweet tooth like mine. My all time favourite pastry is their blueberry cheesecake which is made to perfection and right from the crumbly crust to the cream cheese filling and blueberry jam on top , you’ll enjoy each layer in each bite you take. I’ve also tried their New York Cheesecake which is good too but not as good as the blueberry. Their Opium cake is also delicious and so is there After 9 cake . The After 9 cake is made with the deadly combination of mint and chocolate and is so refreshing and light . The hazelnut mouse cake is also very very light and tastes incredible. I also love their Monster cookies and their dessert jars (rainbow,blueberry and red velvet) . The one thing I dislike is the cupcakes. I didn’t like the texture and the overall taste of their cupcakes having tried a few flavours like Red Velvet and chocolate.

I bake sourdough so I really know the difference, their sourdough disappointed in many ways. Not sure if it was entirely fermented. Taste tells it all.
New York cheesecake could have been better with such branding. But for any sweet cravings, there isn’t a better place than this.
I only complaint will be the QUANTITY. Tiramisu is just 3 spoons and if you buy 2, it’s too much at some point.

Theobroma was such a joyful find in Bombay. The pastries are just sinful! The brownies, red velvet cake, banoffee pie, lemon tart, cheesecake, croissants and sandwiches, the list goes on and on, everything is just soo good to eat. The pastries are priced decently and are full of goodness. The warm brownie is the perfect pairing for a cup of Americano. The gooey chocolatey-ness of the brownie is wonderful and you really do get that kick of chocolate from that. The red velvet cake was indeed the best we had. The cake was moist and well-soaked, and the frosting had the perfect tanginess that we have been looking for. Red velvet cake was the synonym for perfection! The croissant was flaky, buttery and loaded with richness and goodness. The roasted chicken mustard sandwich was the perfect breakfast bite. The banoffee pie was all that it was meant to be. The New York cheesecake was the only thing that was falling behind a little. But overall, a great place for a guilty pleasure.

Red valvet cake, croissants, blueberry cupcakes and sandwiches are awesome. Coffee is better than Starbucks coffe. Mango cheese cake was major let down. Finding a parking spot near this store requires divine intervention. Overall pastries, sandwiches and coffee is great here. Not much seating place in the shop.
Went in here a few days ago with a friend to have a coffee. Unfortunately, it took a while for the coffee to be delivered because the cashier who took the order passed it on to the other person working at the time. There seemed to be some kind of misunderstanding between the two which resulted in the coffee order being delayed. The young lad apologised for this and provided a complimentary brownie to make up for the delay.

The cafe is located on a busy road but it's nice and quiet inside. After a few days, I went back to purchase a cake to take with me as I was visiting a friend's house for afternoon tea. They provide cakes/pastries both in eggless and normal versions.
