Reviews O Pedro

Yet another fantastic evening at our favourite restaurant in the country. An impromptu dinner date saw us at the doors of O Pedro. I have a feeling there is something magnetic which draws us to this place anytime we are in Mumbai. Since this was a last minute plan and O Pedro is usually packed we weren’t sure of getting a table but the guys were nice enough to get us a bar seating for two.
Our host for the evening was Satish and he was absolutely the best we have seen in a long time. His suggestions were spot on. I was a bit wary of the mushroom Ceviche although the Red Snapper Ceviche is my favourite dish there and we ordered that for sure. The sound of a mushroom variant wasn’t too appealing but Satish insisted we give it a try and now I am so glad we did. It is fabulous. A note. Resist the temptation to order seconds of the same dish. There is plenty of amazing food choices for mains and you need to keep some space for that. The 3rd starter was the prawn balchao with a Poi, the Goan bread. Finger licking delicious.

Our main course was the Beryls fish curry, made with dried mango and kokum coconut milk. It goes best with the Goan Red Rice. Yet another combo that you want to keep on eating long after your stomach has sent signals that there is no more space.

Satish suggested that we try the Chicken Xacuti curry however the Beryls being our favourite, we didn’t want to give up this opportunity of having what we love. Lo behold, he was incredibly sweet and got us a small bowl of the curry to try. It too is delicious and I’d surely order it next time.

Our standard go to Dessert is the Lisboa pas-tel de na-ta. It’s a warm egg custard tart with cinnamon ice cream. My mouth is watering as I write this review. It is in my opinion their signature dish.

What did break our hearts is that another brilliant dessert is not on the menu anymore. The cold goat cheese roll with pistachios.

Dear O Pedro please bring this one back. The lack of this reduces your star rating from a 7 to a measly 5.

Seeing our disappointment, Satish made yet another suggestion. The Aunty’s Li’s serradura. It’s made with condensed milk and whipped cream, toasted biscuit crumbles, strawberries coulis and fresh strawberries. Though it doesn’t make up for the goat cheese roll it is a terrific dessert as well.

O Pedro has a terrific collection of Gin. We tried 4 different ones with elderflower tonic water. Each one was delicious.

Hats off O Pedro you have been and continue to be our absolute favourite. And you have a gem of a host in Satish.

2 suggestions.

1. Get the Goat cheese roll back.

2. Open a restaurant in Delhi soon.

There is really no place like this in the world, forget Mumbai. The eclectic menu is second to none - it doesn’t matter who you are, you are going to be exposed to something that you have never tried before in your life. During these tough times this is the closest thing to the good old days that you are going to find. The Pork Chops, chicken curry and egg tarts are some of the things that you have to order.

Roasted Cauliflower Cal-Deen - its Cauliflower cooked with fresh turmeric & coconut milk curry served with rice bhakari, kaddu ki sabji, healthy sprouts salad & kokum kadi . The taste of both the curries was just perfect, the salad with lil salt compliments the taste buds. Choriz tacos were superb – crisp tacos with super tasty chorizo – brilliant taste and flavour. Poee was a lovely nice Goan bread that was super soft and had an enjoyable fermented flavour. Cashew in spirit was a recommended dish. Super loved it. Loved the layers of taste and flavour, the pungency and the madness in the drink.

Lovely place, good vibe, spacious rooms with kitchenette, breakfast is delicious. Love the vintage furniture all around the hotel. Good value for money. And location is easy reachable by tube.

I’m so glad that on Valentine’s Day, a day in which every place was fully booked, I stumbled into Green Rooms. And what a happy coincidence!
The food was priced well, and tasted amazing. There was a long wait for the food but I was well informed this would be the case, and in the end it was well worth the wait.
The great food was also accompanied by good customer service. Overall very happy with my service.

A long awaited Visit to this place, and finally It has been ticked off. What an Experience, you really need to be a Proper Seafood lover to understand and witness the Gastronomic experience of this place. We had their Prawns Balchow- The best Prawns dish in the business, Their Famous Poi Bread and Chorisso Butter. And later had their Lunch specials with Prawns curry And rice. They have a Wonderful Bar and service team. Enjoyed their Beers and Mocktails as well. All in all, Kudos to this place...!!!

Such a great place to have a relaxing lunch! Our server patiently helped us pick our drinks and appetisers - the mushroom ceviche, the spicy chorizo bhakri tacos, the perfectly spiced prawns balchao. The mushroom ceviche (in the picture) was absolutely brilliant so we ended up reordering it! For mains, we tried the beryls fish curry and Chicken Saguti, both delicately spiced, well cooked and very comforting. I would go back not only for the food but also the service and the ambience.

The food here was sooo good!
We went here on a weekend, which was quite rushy, we were told to wait for 15 minutes (because we didn't make a reservation) the wait made it up to the food though!
Even though the restaurant was quite rushy, the service was good.
My favourite dish was the crab! It was so good!
The prices are very decent as well!
Can't wait to be back & have more of the guava cheesecake as well!
Although while going, please make a reservation & don't miss out of the cheesecake!

Lovely place to visit with your friends or family if you're new to hoan cuisine. This restaurant is known for their variety of cocktails such as eggnog, mulled wine, JnT and what not. Some dishes give you the typical manglorean and malvan feel as well. For dessert I recommend the pasta del nada.

Authentic Goan food + great location (BKC) + amazing interiors/ theme (ambiance) makes up for an amazing experience that any one can ask for. So, I happen to visit this place as me and my colleague both were somehow missing Goa around these holiday periods and the closest that we can think of was this place considering its located hardly 10 mins from our office.

The places is super crowded during lunch hours and specially on weekends. Would recommend booking a table in advance or else you will end up sitting at the bar or side table (which is not so bad) for a good amount of time before you are assigned a table.

We started off with a growler of "Belgian Witbier" (as we were sitting at the bar) accompanied with the "Chicken chilli fry" and the "Prawn Bal Chow". The beer was amazingly well balanced with respect to its Belgian roots. The Chicken Chilli was straight out of a shack in Goa - the taste, the spices and the condiments were so good. So was the Prwan Bal Chow - served with pav, its was a unique dish and ofcourse, if in Goa, you have to go for the sea food. We followed that with the "Nish-te Rawa fry" which was prepared using Black Pompfret. And for the main course we stuck to the basic goan cuisine - "Prawn Who Mann" with short brown rice - the coconut curry with tamarind was pure bliss to end the meal.

A place I would love to visit again :)

Cheers!!

Gourmet goan cuisine is something I have been meaning to try for a while and O Pedro knocked this concept out of the park.
The prawn bel-chow with sour dough bao was ingenious. The flavours were absolutely delicious!
The civeche with tempura on top was served in the most mind-blowing sauce I've tasted.
I also recommend the custard tarts, it's served with this very authentic cinnamon ice cream that end the meal on the best note.
This place is pricey but it's unique, food is delicious and the staff is extremely warm. Perfect for a Sunday afternoon!

Great food, great atmosphere but really heavy on the pocket. I’d say they have been successful in re creating the Goa shack vibe with their decor while keeping the ambience really posh. Coming to the food, we tried several things and all were good but the bheja cafreal was exceptional. I can revisit just for this one.

This place located in BKC home to goan food , the sea food here is delicious, but the bhejha is a must try (recommended ) the bone marrow was delicious and flavourful, kokum fizz was refreshing .
It has a casual interior , sit back and relax with family and friends , but no juniors allowed (that's little upsetting)
Overall , a great place .

Came here on the recommendation of a friend and absolutely loved it. We got small plates (all appetizers) and loved the diversity of Goan cuisine that O Pedro highlighted. We also got non alcoholic drinks - the cucumber one whose name escapes me - and they were fabulous. At the end, the manager (Kartik) suggested we get the bone marrow which we did and must say, it was the highlight of our lunch. Great food, great service, loved every minute of it!

Ambience - 5/5

I really loved the cheerful vibe here, which promises a fun time from the moment you walk in. The light Konkani music playing in the background really added to the whole effect.

Service - 5/5

Prompt, polite, and efficient. I didn't even have to ask the server to change our plates.

Food - 5/5

Burrata salad - A lovely way to start the meal. The creamy burrata comes with a flavourful green tomato puree and cherry tomatoes. This dish somehow complemented the grilled corn appetiser.

Grilled corn - Vegetarian dishes don't usually blow me away, but this was probably my favourite appetiser here. So many textures. So many flavours. Goes even better with one of O Pedro's sourdough poes. As mentioned earlier, this dish and the burrata salad go really well together.

Crispy soft shell crab 'Kiss-mur' - Yum! Seafood is a big part of Goan cuisine and this dish exemplifies the best of it. The crab tasted fresh and the seasoned crumbs were just delightful.

Roasted bone marrow - The bone marrow curry was tangy and served with a Pao. I liked this one too but not as much as the other appetisers.

Margao choriz & bacon pulao - The smoky sausage pulao was also good, but being Goan myself, I eat a lot of this at home and thus, it didn't excite me as much.

Cheese & port - What a unique dessert! While I didn't care for the poached plums, the pistachio-covered goat's cheese, the candied walnuts, and the crackers were a stunningly beautiful combo.

Value for money - 4/5

You could eat a really delicious meal here feeling full without having to cough up a ridiculous amount of money.

Score - 4.8/5

Probably one of the best experiences in a long time.
Unbelievably great staff. Extremely knowledgable, friendly and chatty.
Pisco sour, vasco sour and gin and tonic cocktails are to die for.
The mushroom ceviche and the sea bass ceviche are must haves. The poee bread along with the butters is yum!
The burrata salad was another great dish.
Prawn balchao, rava fry and the pork chops bring back great memories!
All in all a great place. Will definitely return!

So this place is so awesome that everytime any of my friend visit the city from any part of the world I take them to O Pedro for dinner. Their Mushroom ceviche is something you can't find anywhere else, so is their mushroom moose. Pedro Gin and tonic is a must order. Their Wood charcoal oven baked seafood selection is equally scrumptious. Cocktails selection is great too.

O pedro has themed ambience which is pleasant.
The Portuguese bread poee had very different texture than normal bread and paired very well with the butter variants served along with the bread.who knew regular pepper butter could taste so good when served at perfect temperature.
Dessert bebinca however was highly average eventhough it looked good,id rather give it a pass if i visit again.
Service was good but compulsory 10% service charge is not something i appreciate.

A wonderfully well rounded evening. The food was delicious and the service was spot on. We ordered 4 half plates and 1 main dish and each came out quickly, tasted good and went really well together. In addition to the pictured dishes, we had the fish curry which was delicious and I'm not one for food that's too spicy but even the spiciness here was something I could get on board with. I would gladly return to this restaurant

Opedro at BKC stands out as a fantastic spot for seafood enthusiasts. The absence of any fish odor enhances the dining experience, and the delectable dishes, including mushroom ceviche, whole fish cafreal, and beryl's fish curry, truly impressed us. Accompanied by Goa brown rice, the meal was perfectly complemented. Special thanks to Kunal Parve for his helpful recommendations and outstanding service. For dessert, we savored aunty's Li's serradura, pastel de nata, and Portuguese chocolate truffle, rounding off a delightful culinary experience.

Visited O Pedro for the first time based on a recommendation of a family member and My god! Such a great experience! Mr.Ramesh was our server for the day and his recommendations for vegetarian options were a hit! (They typically have a rotational menu, so be sure to ask for reccs from the kind servers) We were ever so kindly offered a dish on the house, which was so surprising and wholesome❤️ Loved the way each dish was explained to us, elements broken down so we enjoy the dishes as they are meant to be enjoyed! 😀 Each dish was one delightful foodgasm after the other! Worth your money!

Loved the ambience , loved the authentic flavors and loved the service. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience at o Pedro. The cocktails were different and refreshing. Do not miss the freshly prepared poee ( sourdough bread) which comes with different flavors of butter. The full fish came with the authentic goan sauces which was delicious. The fish was dethroned so easily consumable. The brown rice and fish curry went together amazingly well and ended with the serradura. They have valet parking but it is paid and expensive. Overall, highly recommended! It’s different but still feels familiar!!

I ordered Pedro’s G&T, some shrimp chips, their most amazing Prawn Balchao with poee(bread) and Chicken Schnitzel cutless from the brunch menu. What a lovely restaurant by the same guys who also have the bombay canteen. Very unique, lovely vibe and seating and very tasty offerings. I really liked everything we ordered, it was different from the usual and very tasty. We ate with a vegetarian couple so ordered mostly veg dishes - burrata salad, beetroot dangar, eggplant hummus, peri-peri chicken wings. Definitely going here again. I found the portion sizes to be small but filling. We did not get a reservation but would recommend as it was quite full, especially if going over the weekend.

Located within BKC, this is a really nice place to come and try some Goan food in Bombay. They have a good decent selection of Goan dishes in veg and non veg. There are other options as well if you don't want to have only Goan food. The service is good and the staff is very friendly and will advise you on good dishes if you cannot make up your mind on what to order. The quantity is a little less compared to other places and could be a little more. They have a good drinks menu as well in cocktail mocktails and hard liquor. Valet parking is available so it is convenient to drive there with friends and family.

It was Brilliant! The famous Chicken Chilli appetizer was Amazing! The Prawn Chips are a MUST TRY! And OMG the Poees - Chicken Masala & Fried Rawas!!!! They are fantastic!
