I have been wanting to try this place since long. Finally did try it for dinner and must say it was an amazing experience. Had the prawns fry and fish fry and both were so good. But the prawns was the winner hands down, amazing quality, taste and reasonable I would say too for the quantity they are serving. The place is very nice too, liked the ambiance and service is quick.

The atmosphere and the ambience. of this place is amazing. Hygiene and the service is too good. And now coming on to the food I will drop by the list of recommendations that you guys should order if you're visiting for the first time:
Chicken seekh kebab
Amritsari Fish Fry
Chicken, liver Fry (This is not mentioned in the menu but do ask them for it.)
Butter chicken (not your usual sweet butter chicken, this is the medium spicy butter chicken and the portion is good)
The first look at the restaurant was stunning; it was houseful, yet we were able to find a few seats at the back. The ambience was pleasant, and everything felt good about the place.
We ordered two plates of Punjabi prawns fry, veg biryani, and some coke. The prawns were undoubtedly the best to have in Mumbai. Though they might be a bit expensive for some, they are worth every penny. I thoroughly loved them and would love to try them on my next visit to Mumbai. The biryani was full of flavours and enough to serve one person.
The place was accessible for people with disabilities.
You go there simply for the fried fish and prawns and that’s what you get. The kind of rustic atmosphere, for bandra kids it’s nostalgia, the taste is the same through the years. Amazing joint.
Ordered delivery this time.
Chutney is damn good!!
LOVE the place nice ambience good food as it's a famous place you have to wait for a table there is no car parking
We had order
Prawns fry
Tandoori chicken
Butter naan
Jeera rice
Dal makhani
Note :- They don't serve half portion in parcel they will give a reason that the container r big in size so they don't serve half
Plzz guys work on it as it's your loss only so plzz make a note on that
N improve your service
I heard a lot about the food of this place before so decided to visit. I expected this place to be a roadside small eatery but to my surprise it appeared to be a well designed AC Restaurant. I would not say it's a very big space compared to other restaurants in a city like Mumbai but it has a very nice ambiance. Suprisingly this place has a very big kitchen in the front which is almost the same size of its sitting area unlike other restaurants which generally have a small closed kitchen at the back.
Coming to the food it is a paradise for food lovers especially non-veg lovers. The foods served here are of very good quality and tasty. I tried Punjabi Fried Prawn, Fish Tandoori, Butter Garlic Naan, Romali Roti, Mutton Keema Masala and Malai Rabri. Each and every food tastes heavenly. Apart from the food it's a small cozy family restaurant with a nice ambiance.
We sat in the outside area and service was very prompt. Ordered the fried prawns to start and then the prawn curry. Very yummy and good level of spice!
Delicious food with minimum options with best quality and taste.
Must try there prawns fry, mutton kebab and chicken reshmi kebab.
Even paneer starters is delicious very soft paneer which melts in mouth.
Always crowded places.
Location✔️
On road with parking space for 2 wheelers
Ambience✔️
Spacious in Mumbai terms
Food✔️
The best dish for me at the hotel was not a non-veg dish but Jira rice! Tandoori chicken was good. Panjabi chicken curry was bit sour(tomatoes overload). Rotis were good too. Quantity was tricky. (Full Punjabi chicken curry was enough for 3, but half was not enough for even 1)
Service✔️
Fast service
Affordable✔️
Bill was surprisingly below our expectations
Jai Jawan is a famous eatery specialising in fish items and chicken.
Our family enjoyed the delicious masala Prawns and Basa fish fry with their green coriander chutney and Mumbai Pav and immensely enjoyed the delicious sit down dinner in their outlet on Khar Pali Road in Bandra West.
I would recommend to eat at this outlet as the service was quick and the service by their staff was good.

Very deliciously good, big & juicy fried prawns. The best I have had. The Basa fish fry was also very fresh and tasty. Also ordered paneer masala with Naan, which too was tasty. We visited the restaurant at Khar which has seating facility & is nice.
The food here is great. I have been here quite a few times and I can say that their taste and quality is consistent. Seafood is usually very fresh. Their fish biryani and Pomfret tandoori is a must try.
Do not drive here as there is absolutely no parking space available around this place.
If you had to ask me which restaurant would go to everyday, it would hands down be Jai Jawan. Such good food! And yummilicious! The fried fish is flaky and so perfectly cooked. And the prawns are soooo yum and juicy! Especially once they get a little sprinkle of chaat masala/aamchur masala. Also that onion and mint chutney is downright illegal. They should bottle it up and sell it. They'll make a billion bucks, that's for certain. We also ordered their Watermelon Mojito and Punjabi Lassi to wash everything down and they were so great just by themselves. Although just a warning, the glasses are HUGE so be prepared to go to the bathroom a couple of times. My advice would be to share it with someone else. I usually come here for the fish but we tried Chicken Bhanjara Kebabs. It was succulent and really good. The size of the pieces made me happy too. For mains, we ordered Chicken Biryani which is a win as always and Paneer Bhurji. Just FYI their paneer and lassi is the BOMB! and they use fried onions in their Paneer Bhurji which just adds on to the flavor a 100 fold. Finally, in the little space that we had left, we ordered dessert. Matka Rabdi, Chocolate Mousse and Caramel Custard. They're were all great and it made me crave more sweet even though we were all extremely full but then. Don't overthink. Just go to Jai Jawan, you won't be disappointed. Also, now that they have taken over the place next door, you won't even have to wait for long.
We had been to Jai Jawan today for authentic Punjabi Food!
We decided to order their classic dishes;
•Chicken Tandoori - 3/5
Not the best chicken tandoori we have ever eaten, but it was surely a decent one which is worth a try when you order it in large groups. Avoid it when you are eating it alone.
It’s good as a party snack.
•Punjabi Fried Prawns - 5/5
We love prawns and Jai Jawan serves the best Prawns in this city! Perfectly fried with decent amount of spices over it.
•Butter Chicken with Butter Roomali/Tandoori Roti - 5/5
What’s the point of visiting a place serving Punjabi Food if you do not try their Butter Chicken?
Jai Jawan sells one of the tastiest Butter Chicken in our city and tastes well with Butter Roomali Roti and Butter Tandoori Roti.
What do we recommend you to eat here?
Punjabi Fried Prawns and Butterrrrrrr Chicken with Butterrrrrrrr Roomali Roti ❤️
Food for non-veg lovers is excellent, It is a smaller outlet hence service is a little poor especially those who are used to spoon and fork for them It is a little difficult place but if you want to enjoy food excellent place
The name Jai Jawan is Enough...
The quality and the taste is just outstanding
I'll recommend this place to visit atleast once in a life
Cozy joint with good fast food joint. The fish, chicken & prawns were all fresh. The spices were perfect. Overall a good Tandoori & grilled food.
